Joseph Young is a science fiction author and U.S. Air Force veteran from El Paso, Texas. Blending his background in technology and military service, Joseph crafts high-stakes adventures filled with action, betrayal, and cosmic mystery. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Programming, a Master of Science in Information Technology, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Information Technology Management. When he’s not writing or studying, Joseph enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, gaming, and exploring the boundaries of imagination.
His debut novel, Heir of the Cosmos, launches readers into a universe where gods walk among us—and power always comes at a cost.
His second book, Redline: The Final Breach, raises the stakes even further, diving into a multiversal conspiracy, memory manipulation, and a desperate fight for truth in a collapsing timeline.
“REDLINE: THE FINAL BREACH” grabbed me right from the first page. Joseph Young delivers a sci-fi action thriller full of high-octane battles, gritty atmosphere, and deep philosophical questions about timeline manipulation. The protagonist, Cael Draven, is a brilliant Archive agent sent into alternate timelines to fix dangerous anomalies. But soon he discovers the Archive itself is hiding secrets—and that maybe everything he’s been fighting for is a lie.
One scene that stuck with me was when Future Cael leaves a message in the dead timeline: *“You’re not the first version of yourself. You’re the last chance. Don’t waste it.”* Total chills!
A small downside: some action scenes feel a bit overloaded with technical details, and I occasionally had to slow down my reading. But the pace stays high, the characters are complex, and the story kept me hooked the whole way through.
I love how Young raises the question of whether we truly have free will—or if we’re just part of someone else’s plan. For fans of fast-paced sci-fi and clever twists, this book is an absolute must-read.
(5 stars) – Because it blends suspense, depth, and cool sci-fi action perfectly. (And yep, I probably left one or two typos in here… it happens!)
Redline: The Final Breach is a wild ride through collapsing timelines, hidden conspiracies, and epic multiverse battles. Cael, a badass operative, gets screwed over and has to fight enemies who mess with time itself. The action never stops—think gunfights, twisted memories, and reality rewriting on the fly. If you love Inception meets John Wick with a sci-fi twist, this book’s for you. Seriously addictive!
“Redline: The Final Breach” pulls you in from the first page and doesn’t let go. The atmosphere is tense and immersive, with excellent pacing and cinematic action scenes. The story cleverly blends time-travel intrigue with a deep sense of mystery. Highly recommended for fans of smart sci-fi thrillers!
While this book targets a younger audience than me, Joseph Young's writing quality really impressed me. Cael works as a multiverse operative until a mission goes wrong and reveals a conspiracy within the Archive system that can rewrite history. The concept of weaponized memories and enemies existing outside time creates genuinely intriguing sci-fi elements. Young handles the complex multiverse concepts clearly without getting bogged down in exposition. The action sequences are well-paced, and the conspiracy elements build effectively as Cael discovers the personal nature of the threat. The world-building feels cinematic and the alternate realities are distinct enough to follow easily. The character development works well within the thriller framework, and the writing maintains tension throughout. Even though it's aimed at younger readers, the storytelling is sophisticated enough to engage adult sci-fi fans. Strong entry for anyone who enjoys multiverse adventures or military science fiction with time travel elements.
If you took the plot of Loki and put it in a cyberpunk setting, you’d get Redline: The final Breach! It’s very fast paced and is action packed.
I really enjoyed this book. I really enjoyed the characters, they were a lot of fun. The plot was really cool. Essentially we have special op team going to alternate timelines and taking them out that are either unstable or a threat to the main timeline. And I loved discovering all the twist and turns as our main characters.
I loved the cyberpunk feel to this. All the tech was really cool like the time grenades, and pulse rifles etc. All the action scenes were really cool, very well written, and had me at the edge of my seat the whole time.
My only con with this book was it was super short! Coming in at only 123 pages. I completely ate it up. And could have easily read another 300+ pages of this. I wanted more of it!
Book was awesome! I had a blast with it, it was incredible fun, action packed and fast paced. I highly giving this book a read!
An interesting interpretation of time travel. I am very fond of the science fiction genre, especially time travel. This book has it all. The main character, Cable, works for the Archive, which sends him back in time to rectify situations that he initially believed needed correction. But one day, while carrying out a task, he met himself, already quite old, and before dying, he told him something that made Cable go against the system. And so began his struggle against those behind the Archive who, with the help of Cable and his team, correct time in a way that benefits them, rather than the interests of society as a whole.
The Final Breach is a relentless sci-fi thriller that throws readers into a fractured multiverse teeming with high-stakes action and psychological intrigue. Cael’s descent from elite agent to rogue operative is both gripping and emotionally charged, with cinematic set pieces and twists that keep the tension razor-sharp. Perfect for fans of time-bending conspiracies and fast-paced military sci-fi, this is a heart-pounding race through alternate realities where nothing—and no one—can be trusted. A
This book was kinda wild, in a good way. Super fast paced, lots of action, and the whole multiverse thing? Yeah, it really messes with your head (but like, in a fun way). Cael is a solid main character, easy to root for, and the plot just keeps throwing curveballs. I won’t lie, some parts were a bit confusing, like I def had to reread a couple bits to make sense of what was happening. But honestly? Totally worth it.
This pulse-pounding thriller swept me off my feet with its audacious concept and relentless momentum. The narrative’s fractured timelines and high-stakes conspiracies unfold with cinematic flair, while the hero’s dogged spirit shines through every twist. What truly resonates is the book’s unshakable optimism—proof that courage and conviction can transcend even time itself. Redline: The Final Breach is a breathtaking ride that left me inspired and utterly spellbound.
This book is a wild ride from start to finish. I liked how it throws you straight into the action with broken timelines and a main guy who has no idea who he can trust. The whole thing with memories being turned into weapons and history getting changed kept me turning the pages. Sometimes the jumps between worlds got a bit confusing, but the story is full of twists. If you want nonstop action with a bit of brain-bending, this one delivers.
What a ride! Non stop action from page one. I love the theme and the beyond reproach hero discovering that things aren’t always what they appear. I think this is a book that many ages and reading levels could enjoy 😉 The only reason I deducted one star may be just a me thing, but I like a little fleshing out of the characters and the theme with some backstory. I also really would have loved more! My thanks to the author for the opportunity to go on this wild ride!
This is a fun light read with some good characters. Cael is the main character and he finds quite a trail of mystery and intrigue. He meets keon and others and seeks help to get to the bottom of things. Page turner and likely intended for early teens which it reads to nicely.
Redline: The Final Breach is a nonstop thrill ride! Joseph Young has crafted a gripping story full of high-stakes action, smart twists, and unforgettable characters. I couldn’t put it down—the pacing was perfect, and the tension kept building until the explosive finale. If you're into military thrillers or fast-paced espionage, this one delivers big time. Think Tom Clancy meets Jason Bourne!
This book is great for readers who enjoy complex timelines, military sci-fi, and protagonists who are in way over their heads. The world-building is nicely detailed but that does not slow down the story. A solid pick for anyone who wants a thriller with depth. It grabs you from the first page and doesn’t let go. If you like sci-fi that makes you think, this one’s worth the ride.
I enjoy science fiction novels, and time travel is a particular area of interest for me — so this novel was exactly my kind of read. It’s fast-paced and never boring. The concept of encountering one’s future self during time travel is a bit of a cliché, but overall I liked the story. At times, it also touches on philosophical themes, which added depth. A solid and well-executed piece of work.
Dynamic The book throws you right into the action from the very beginning. The main character is a cool operative. But one mission changes everything: timelines begin to collapse, the past resurfaces, and Cael uncovers a conspiracy. Shifting timelines, ghosts from the past, you never know who to trust. It’s a real page-turner! You barely notice the hundred-plus pages fly by. It mixes elements of tech-based sci-fi, military thriller, and even a bit of philosophy.
