Swiss journalist Frank falls in love with a Finnish woman and decides to stay in Finland for her - despite the many hurdles there are to overcome with people, culture, language and more. It's supposedly a novel, but the book doesn't really feel like fiction and the story mainly serves as a vehicle to point out as many details as could possibly be crammed into it about the weird place that is Finland. An okay read, but probably more entertaining for people for whom all the little peculiarities of the Finnish language, culture, etc. are actually strange. I guess I've just lived here too long to still find it oh so fascinating.
