I think this would be a great book for someone with an iPhone. Unfortunately I don't have one, but looking to update my Windows Mobile phone to something that has iPhone functionality and this book goes into great detail about the iPhone and it's functions and would be very great resource to use if you have an iPhone as it has pictorial, detailed steps to do anything you would want to do on your iPhone. Would recommend.

Well-written, easy to follow iPhone primer, with clear explanations and full-color screenshots. It's very basic; I would've like to have learned more about security and privacy and other intermediate and advanced topics. It's primarily about iPhone 7 and 7+, but covers all models that run iOS 10. I didn't learn much because I've been using my first iPhone for 3 weeks, and have already figured out what I need to.

Notes
Connecting your iPhone to the Internet, Bluetooth Devices, and iPhones/iPods/iPads
Apple Pay is more secure than credit or debit cards because your card info isn't passed to the card reader; a unique code is passed that ties back to your card, but can't be used again. Your card number is never available to vendor.

AirDrop is encrypted.

Disable AirDrop when you're not using it.

Setting Up and Using iCloud and Other Online Accounts
Push uses a lot more battery than Fetch.

The global Push toggle allows push to be used for accounts.

Customizing How Your iPhone Works
The system service Frequent Locations tracks places you visit to improve the performance of some apps.

Alphanumeric code is most secure password option, especially if you use 8+ characters, letters and numbers.

Restrictions allows you to set an additional passcode to limit access to content and apps. Useful if you share your phone.

Customizing How Your iPhone Looks and Sounds
You can't delete some stock apps. You can move them to pages of your Home screen, or create a folder for unused apps.

Managing Contacts
"When you create a new contact, it is associated with the account you designated as the default in the Contacts settings and is stored at the account level."

Sending, Receiving, and Managing Texts and iMessages
"If the recipient has an iOS device or Mac that has been enabled for iMessage, text messages are sent via iMessage when possible even if you choose the recipient's phone number."

When an iMessage can't be delivered, you can tap and hold it and Send as Text Message.

Maintaining and Protecting Your iPhone and Solving Problems
If you lose iPhone
1. Use Find My iPhone to check its location.
2. Use Find My iPhone to Play Sound.
3. Use Find My iPhone to enable Lost Mode. Set a message with your contact info, and optionally offer reward.
4. If you lose hope of finding it, use Find My iPhone to Erase iPhone.

iPhone's battery does better if you keep topping it off rather than letting it run all the way down before charging. Every 1 to 2 months let it run completely out of battery then recharge it, to maximize battery's life.

To force restart iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until iPhone shuts off. Then hold Sleep/Wake to turn on.

Mine is the 5th edition. I'm finding the book helpful. Learned a couple of things straight off that I've now used at least 3-4 times a day!
