Gemini: An Unmasked Novel

Dominic and Leslie.

Twin brothers no one survives unscathed.

I learned that the hard way—the night they took me and my best friend.

They made me believe I could trust them. That beneath the chaos, something dangerous and real pulsed between us.

I was wrong.

And when it ended, it left scars I swore I’d never open again.

Until my sister vanishes, and I'm forced back into their world.

Dominic, with his quiet restraint and that lethal kind of tenderness, makes me wonder if redemption is possible.

But Leslie...

Leslie is the one who broke me. Who taught me how it feels to crave what could destroy me—he doesn’t want forgiveness.

To save my sister, I have to step back into the darkness and surrender. But can I survive them a second time, and escape with my heart intact, or will they show me what it's like to be truly ruined?

Gemini is a dark anti-hero, vigilante romance with mafia vibes and an MFM relationship, set in the Unmasked universe. To better understand the characters and their backstories it's best to read the Unmasked Duet.

supposed to be mfm romance, but honestly didn't feel like it. Dom only kisses her and barely makes it to second base before Leslie takes the full focus. The dynamic was confusing and needed more clarity. is she with both of them? cause it felt more like she was with Leslie and Dom was essentially the Asexual of the throuple. there isn't nearly enough emotional development between the three of them, and waiting until 50% of the book to start making the relationship move past hurt into understanding and then to development was too late in. Poor Dom never gets an "I love you". So was this MFM? in my opinion, it's a no. Dom deserved more and we, the readers, deserved more clarity.

Story wise the plot is fine. it's action packed and fun but not as much as the Beautiful Prey series. The climax is wrapped up too fast, the big bad is dispatched off page and so it all feels watered down. I had fun with this, laughed a lot, and ultimately had a good time, so 3 stars.

I wasn’t expecting there to be another book in the Unmasked series, so I was super excited when this book popped up in my inbox. This story takes place after the events of the other books in the Unmasked Series, and while you could in theory read it as a standalone, I highly recommend reading it after the other books because some of the plot relies on events that happen prior to this book.

For me, the magic of the Beautiful/Haunted Prey just wasn’t there in this book. I think part of the reason is because the story just feels so rushed. Everything is happening so quickly, and while there are some great plot elements throughout, I wished we had longer with the characters to truly establish their new dynamics. Sure, we’ve already met these characters, but things are different for them now, so I would’ve liked more time really diving into the characters, especially because we don’t get many povs from the guys.

Thank you to Lora Darc for an arc of this book.

SCREAMING!! When I saw that Lora was writing another book, to tell you I was ecstatic, was an understatement. I absolutely LOVED “Beautiful Prey” and “Haunted Prey”. I immediately signed up to be an advanced reader for “Gemini” the moment I could. I didn’t even know the blurb yet, nor did I care. Anything Lora writes, I will ALWAYS read.

When I began reading “Gemini”, I thought it was a new story. Until I started recognizing some of the names. And also not realizing at the time it was literally “An Unmasked Novel”, which I should have put two and two together. The story revolves around some of the characters from the second book of her duet “Haunted Prey”, so I do recommend reading both. Regardless, you should read them anyway because they are PHENOMENAL. Anywho, once my brain finally caught up, I was even more excited to read this novel.

This was a novel I didn’t know I needed. To follow Lena after what had happened to her previously and to be brought back to the “Twins”—Leslie and Dom—I couldn’t put it down. I didn’t want to stop reading and go to sleep. I wanted to continue on with the story. I forgot how much I loved all of them. Even though Leslie is incredibly insane—he would absolutely burn the world down for the people he cares about. Who wouldn’t want him in their corner. And Dom—the less intensive twin, however, still not to be fxcked with. The two of them are just perfection-in the most weird and twisted messed up way.

I absolutely LOVED being back in this world and I devoured every bit of being lost in it. Even though it was a little shorter than I would have hoped for, it still had the most action packed energy, heartfelt, emotional, spice, banter, and revenge I could have wanted.

This was such a great part of the “Unmasked” series. I truly hope we get to see more of these characters because they are all so well written and I can’t help but fall more in love with every single one of them. And that Epilogue—ugh my heart—absolutely amazing.

If you haven’t picked up Lora’s books yet—WHAT ARE YOU DOING. Immediately go read them. These books deserve a special place in your collection. Because they truly are that exceptional.

I can’t thank Lora enough for sending me an advanced copy. To be able to help by just reading and sharing is truly an honor. I will always scream from the rooftops for people to read her books. They are absolutely remarkable.

Gemini follows Lena and the twins, Dominic and Leslie, who we met in Eve’s story. This book follows the events that happened after Haunted Prey ends and tells Lena’s story with the twins that completely flipped her world upside down. Lena is trying to avoid contact with the twins, save some cryptic text messages she received. When faced with desperation and needing help, she turns to the only two people in the world who she knows could help her.

Poor Lena, girl has been through it. She has to face the betrayal of the twins and the breach of her trust. She was left with scars, physical and mental, wounds that she must reopen to heal. This book is definitely Lena and Leslie relationship heavy. The moments with Lena and Dom are there, but seem to be subdued. I do wish we had more with the exploration of Lena and Dom’s relationship. The writing is definitely what we’ve come to expect after Beautiful Prey & Haunted Prey. Lora has a way with words that suck you into the story until you’ve turned the last page and not realized it.

This book is fast paced and full of action. Definitely a faster pace as everything happens in the one book as opposed to the duet of the first 2. The chemistry between Lena and Leslie was definitely there, Lez is all sorts of obsessed with Lena.

An engaging installment to the Unmasked world that gives you trauma, heartbreak, healing, suspense, and beautiful darkness.

Thank you to Lora for the gifted ARC.

When I got the email about this book I couldn’t believe it, I was so excited. I didn’t even know there was going to be more of the unmasked series but here we are!! If you’ve read the first two then you’re ready for this one, if you haven’t I highly suggest waiting till you finish the first two before diving into this one. Although not fully necessary to read the first two I do believe it makes this book a lot more enjoyable as things from the first ones are mentioned and you meet all three on your main characters in them.
If you’ve read the first ones, get ready for more Leslie and Dom! This book follows them and Lena after the events that occurred in Haunted Prey.
This book mainly focuses on Lena wanting to save her sister and There’s tons of action in this book to keep you hooked the whole way through with spice added throughout. My biggest issue is honestly the romance, that was the main reason I had to knock off 1.5 stars. It’s supposed to be MFM but Dom isn’t involved very much before Leslie comes in and takes center focus. I also feel that there just wasnt much there for the romance like I would’ve loved to see more between Dom, Leslie, and Lena. It just felt like the romance was kinda forgotten except for the couple spicey scenes. Even at the ending, everything just wraps up super fast. The ending and romance just all seemed fast and lacking detail. I would’ve loved for this to be just a little bit longer to add more details that I felt were missing.
Overall I did still enjoy it and I cannot wait to see what comes next from Lora Darc!

ARC review 🖤

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — A gripping, gut-twisting dark romance that doesn’t let go

Gemini grabbed me by the throat from page one and refused to loosen its grip. It’s raw, it’s messy, it’s devastating—and somehow still achingly beautiful. It builds a world where trust is a trap, desire is a weapon, and love feels like standing at the edge of a cliff with your toes hanging off.

Dominic and Leslie are chaos incarnate in two very different flavors. Dominic’s quiet restraint hides a tenderness sharp enough to cut, while Leslie… oh, Leslie is every bad decision you swear you’ll never make again—and still crave with your whole trembling heart. Together, these twin brothers radiate danger, seduction, and the kind of intensity that both ruins you and keeps you reading way past midnight.

The emotional tension is absolutely feral. I felt every wound, every memory, every shiver of fear and longing. Lora's journey—from survivor, to reluctant ally, to a woman facing down the same darkness that once took everything from her—is powerful and heartbreaking. And when her sister goes missing? The stakes skyrocket.

This isn’t just a romance. It’s a battle between past and present, pain and desire, destruction and redemption. It’s the kind of story that leaves you asking yourself, How much damage can a heart take… and still choose to love?

Dark, addictive, and utterly unforgettable. If you like your romance twisted, tense, and dripping with danger—this one will ruin you in the best way.

First off, I am a huge fan of Lora Darc's writing. There is just something about her stories that catches me and doesn't let up until the end. I don't know if it's the darkness or the romance, but the stories are addicting.
You have to read Beautiful Prey and Haunted Prey first to keep the storyline in check,
This story is Lena, in search of her sister who vanished and the only two men that she knows would be able to help her, Dominic and Leslie. Dominic and Leslie are opposites. Dom being the quiet more docile one. Leslie being the wicked, devious one.
The plot was plotting in this. I was hooked! This is one of those stories you start reading and can't stop until the end because you don't want to miss a second of anything. The story flows at a consistent fast pace. While the story left me feeling.. unfinished.. like there should be more to the story, I still loved it. I hope there will be another in the future that will tie up everything that happened here in a neat little bow and answer all the questions we still have, even if just provide a little more backstory on Lena's sister.
While I suggest reading everything Lora Darc writes, this one, along with Beautiful Prey and Haunted Prey are definite must reads!!!

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ || 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

“But coming back from the happened and seeing you sobbing on the floor still haunts me. It really does. Seeing what i had to do. Getting into SeverFalls and killing was the easy part. Breaking you…” his jaw clenched tight, his expression faltering. “Breaking you was the hardest.”

😮‍💨🤌🏻🥹 THIS WAS PERFECTION. This was everything i wanted and THEN some from Lena, Dom and Leslie! 🫶🏻 FYI - do not read this before reading the Beautiful Prey & Haunted Prey, otherwise things will not click and/or make sense!

This story follows Lena, Eve’s best friend, and the twins that wrecked her life at the end of Haunted Prey. But when Lena is desperate and needs help, she reaches out to the twins based on a lead she has. She doesn’t want to work with them again, or trust them, but fate has other plans. She finds herself completely intertwined with them and their world as she tries to cope with who and what they are. But will she ever forgive them for what happened in the past? Or will getting wrapped up with them again mean her demise?

I loved the Unmasked series a top read of 2024/25, so to ge to read anotter book in this world left me itching to dive back in. Not necessary but highly recommended to read the precious books as you would know a little of the characters beforehand.
Twisted , dark and intriguing this book offers a vigilante, mafia vibe that instantly hooked me. I loved that it was full on from the get go. The story unfolds when Lena's sister goes missing, so she has to delve back into the lives of Dom & Leslie. Leslie who tore her heart out is once again formidable. Dom the twin who usully takes a quieter approach but also a dangerous man. Can Lena be strong again as she enters their world to find her sister! The world they tried to protect her from! MFM, hot, traumatic & addictive, the world that Dom & Leslie live in, powerful and so dark.

A fast paced but engaging addition to the Unmasked series, I would have liked a little bit more, in terms of character development, but in saying that I really enjoyed reading it and highly recommend. Thanks to Lora for sending me an ARc copy, all opinions are my own.

Gemini is the story about Lena and the twins Dom and Leslie. I strongly advise you to read the Unmasked duet in order to understand the back story and connection between Lena and the twins.

Lena has healed from her accident and is healing from her heartbreak of the twins leaving her and the betrayal of Leslie. She is a medical examiner and when her sister's ex body comes in she knows something is wrong.

She tries to contact her sister but instead finds out she is missing and has gotten mixed up with a dangerous man. She has no choice but to contact the two men who left her broken. Lena is determined to not to be pulled into their world or start having those familiar feelings that she has fought to forget.

This read will have you gripping each page with emotions and anticipation. I was cheering on the twins. They always wanted Lena and never stopped watching over her. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dom always showed his caring side towards Lena. Leslie had to fight to show his love towards Lena. The spice hits when it hits. Leslie can not get enough of her and vise versa. 🌶🌶🌶🌶.

Gemini has it all and you'll fall for the twins just like Lena!

I was so excited when I saw Lora Darc was writing a connected book to the Unmasked Duet. I loved being back in that world again and I loved that we got to see things from Lena as she was dragged into this world with Eve. She definitely went through it in the second book ❤️

The tension between her and the twins, especially Leslie, was something I picked up on so I was excited to see how this would turn out for them. I only wish this book was longer and we had more details as to how her sister got this involved with the wrong crowd (keeping it spoiler free). But I still love being kept on the edge of my seat and wanting more 😂 Lora knows how to do that well.

This book is suspense, trauma, heartbreak, and dark. It’s a beautiful add on to the duet and a quick easy read that will still have you obsessed and unable to put it down. I do recommend reading the Unmasked duet first as this book takes place after the events of book 2.

Thank you Lora for allowing me to have an ARC copy of this book ❤️ all opinions are my own.

Thank you so much to the author for the eARC!

Remember Dom and Leslie from the Unmasked Duology? The twins are back, and they return as a force to be reckoned with. You’ll also recognize Lena from those books, so definitely make sure to read “Beautiful Prey” and “Haunted Prey” before diving into this one.

Lena is determined and also still reeling from the trauma of Haunted Prey. She hasn’t been able to forget Dom and Leslie, and when her sister goes missing, the brothers come back into her life. Her chemistry with them is chaotic and messy, but so perfect for her and this book!

Dom and Leslie step in to help her find her sister, and their possessiveness is intense. They balance each other perfectly. They are both lethal, both possessive, and both focused on one thing, protecting Lena at all costs.

This book is an amazing standalone within the Unmasked series, and the ending is just perfect for all three of them. And no, bedroom time stays perfectly separate, maybe some watching!

🌶 - Spice Level

We're back to read about the twins from the previous Prey books and Lena, Eve's best friend. Lena has a pretty morbid job wity the medical examiners office, but when the twins re-enter the space all hell has broken loose due to her sister missing.

I enjoyed the suspense of Gemini. We get more on the twins and how they both have taken a liking to Lena. Lena finally gets some truth even though she's been harboring her best friend's secrets. This one has way more plot that spice, but it kept me focused as I wanted to know more and get to the end for an HEA. I do feel this should have been longer as many more pieces of the puzzle could have been explorerd like the Cartel's games, Trish's part in the whole mess and why, and definitely more spicy scenes as it didn't feel as resolved.

For me, too short, but still good suspense.

I'm was so excited when I discovered this book was about the twins and Lena. In order to fully understand this book, I strongly recommend reading the Unmasked Duet because there are certain elements in the story that would not make sense if you don't have the background knowledge of the other series. Lena, of course, still gets on my nerves a little bit. She just seemed so pretentious sometimes. I love Dom and Lez, and I thought that they were good for Lena. I got a little confused where Dom fit in the relationship. Is Lena his girl like she is with Lez? I do think the story could have been fleshed out a little more, but I really enjoyed it. I wonder if Michael's story is next. Also, will Jaime become more entwined in the lives of his friends or will he stay in the dark? Until next time...

First I thought it was a new series but when I was reading the characters seemed so familiar then I realized it was an extension of The Unmasked Duet and I was so excited! We now get to see things from Lena’s POV as she got pulled into the chaos with Eve.

Here we follow Lena, she is still struggling with everything that has happened in Haunted Prey. She has not been able to forgive Dom and Leslie for the trauma they have caused her but now her sister is missing and she gets sucked back in.

Enter Dom and Leslie, the twins, Lena is reluctant to ask them for help but she knows she has no choice. There is so much tension between them you don’t know what’s going to happen.

I wish we got more of the story behind her sister… and I also wish there was more POV from the guys!

Gemini by Lora Darc completely pulled me in and refused to let go. There’s something incredibly gripping about the way this story balances tension, emotion, and intensity—it kept me locked in from start to finish. The writing is sharp and immersive, and the characters feel layered and unpredictable in the best way. Every chapter made me want to keep going because it always felt like something was just about to unravel.

What really earned this a 5-star read for me was how deeply it made me feel without trying too hard. The connections, the inner conflict, the emotional push and pull—it all felt natural and raw. This is the kind of book that sticks in your head after you’re done, not because of shock value, but because of how well it’s put together. If you love stories that are intense, emotional, and impossible to put down, Gemini is absolutely worth the read

What a pleasant surprise this turned out to be! I had no idea there was another book in the series. My only regret is not having time to reread the first two beforehand—it’s been over a year since I read them, and I think revisiting them would have made this experience even better.
That said, I still really enjoyed this one. The story was gripping from start to finish, and I never knew whether I should be scared for Lena or completely swooning—because Leslie and Dom would stop at absolutely nothing to protect her. I genuinely had no idea how things were going to play out, but the dynamic between the twins worked beautifully. Each of them had a distinct and meaningful role in Lena’s life, and together it just worked.
I loved the ending, and honestly? I would have happily stayed in their world longer if Lora had continued their story. 💙

I was SO excited for this book. I was so intrigued by the twins when I met them in Haunted Prey. Leslie and Dom and Lena. There was trauma and betrayal that happened before Gemini started. Lena is such a strong FMC and yet vulnerable when it comes to the twins. After her sister disappears, she is so reluctant to reach out to them. However, if anyone can help her it's Les and Dom. The tension between them and her anger are such a great aspect of the book. With that, it makes the character growth so needed and I loved it. Lora Darc is a master of creating delicious tension, vulnerable and badass FMCs, and walking red flags of MMCs. If you like dark romance, you need to read Lora Darc's novels now!

Gemini: An Unmasked Novel by Lora Darc is a steamy, fast-paced addition to the Unmasked Universe.

Although the story takes place after the Unmasked Duet, it can easily be read as a standalone. That said, I was really happy about the connections to the duet and the reunion with some characters from the Unmasked Duet.

As the title suggests, Gemini features smoking-hot twin brothers...so yes, things definitely get spicy when they meet the FMC, Lena, again. But this book offers more than just heat: the plot is highly thrilling and kept me hooked from the very first page. I enjoyed every single moment of it.

Overall, this was a clean 5-star read for me, with a spice level of about 3.5.

What to expect:

2 MMCs (oops, wrong twin 😉)

Yes, Lena, get it girl. I was so excited to return to the Unmasked world, and centering this book on Lena’s story was the perfect move. Throughout the series she played such a pivotal role, and her arc from the earlier books carried over seamlessly here. We finally get to see a deeper side of her, and it was everything I wanted.

And seeing the twins, Leslie and Dom, was absolutely no hardship. What really made this book stand out from other dark MFM romances was how her connection with each twin evolved. The dynamic was spicy, nuanced, and truly a 10 out of 10, no notes.

Here’s hoping we get more returns to the Unmasked world, because I am definitely not ready to let this series go.

Truly amazing. I love all of Lora’s books so i already knew i was going to love this one as well. I def advise you to read Beautiful prey and Haunted Prey first. I didn’t really like Lena in those book but my opinion truly changed about her in this book. She was beyond determined to find her sister. The MMCs Dom and Leslie were the ones who can truly help her. The chemistry the twins had with Lena was amazing. The characters development was beautifully done and that’s how my opinion of Lena changed. The spice to plot ratio was really good! I def recommend this book to others 🖤

I've been waiting for this one!! It was great. Not gonna lie though, it wasnt as good as Beautiful/Haunted Prey but it was still very enjoyable. The twins 😍 they were interesting, I loved Leslie!! I was pleasantly surprised to see that he was the one head over heels for her and not Dom. Dom was the softer one so you would think he would've been the one all mushy for her lol

I liked the plot, it felt like it was too fast at times, like her sister was the main issue but not important enough?? I enjoyed the banter though it was top-notch and the chemistry and tension was off the charts!!

i mean it was good i guess. it just seemed like there was a little too many moving pieces in the storyline in a way. there was also a good amount of emotional back and forth, which was irritating. and i’m not sure if this is just a me thing or what, but the whole gang element mixed with organized crime and motorcycle club seems too far fetched and honestly like a childlike thing if that makes sense. i did like seeing Lena and the twins and how they came together though.

Thank you Lora Darc for letting me read this book as an ARC. Im so late posting my review due to holiday craziness but here we are.
Im gonna keep this one short. I was really excited to read this book. I was excited to learn more about the twins and Lena. I do wish we could have gotten a more in depth story with more POV's from the twins. It was a good short suspense read with a little spice wrapped in, not too high heat but there were some hot little moments. I thought the storyline was good. Definitely recommend reading the Unmasked Duet first.

Gemini was a wild ride start to finish! I found Lora Darcs books a little bit ago and haven’t been able to let go since! Each new book is always such an interesting read and Gemini was no exception!

This one is dark, gritty, and has you asking a lot of questions! MFM relationship, Mystery, Suspense, Vigilantism, and more! Are you ready to step back into the unmasked universe?

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! This is a spin off of the unmasked duet (beautiful prey and haunted prey) which I will always highly recommend to anyone. Like seriously go check them out, fair warning it’s messed up but very addicting.
Gemini follows Lena’s story after that duet ends with the twins. I’m so very grateful their story was written and how it was written- still messed up and still damn addicting. 🥹 the ending had me so happy!
