Wow, great excitement!
Hell is Coming by N.P. Martin takes a wild trip down demon lane and kicking their tails as it went! A gal who is part angel, sees demons. Then her twin brother is taken by them. That was their big mistake! Lots of family secrets revealed, great action, excitement, and supernatural dangers! Loved it although I really didn't like the gal the first half of the book! She got better.

Hell is Coming is the first book in a new urban fantasy series. If you are a fan of this genre, you will not be disappointed in this fast-paced trill ride!
Leia is an eighteen year old who grew up in foster care with her twin brother, Josh. They lost their parents when they were seven years old and only Leia knows what truly happened that night. She witnessed her father being killed and her mother taken by a demon. Ever since she turned eighteen, she has been able to see a demon's true form, causing her to question a possible connection to the murder of her parents. After visiting her childhood home, she receives some shocking information about her mother and herself that has her head spinning. Shortly after the information bomb went off, the story quickly picks up speed and Leia gets thrust into a world that she just found out existed.
I love books that get straight to the point. This story cuts through all the bullshit and gets to the meat pretty quickly. Leia is a cool, strong chick that I could really stand behind and support as a character. In such a short time, I really felt like I got to know her. She was written with a strong, clear voice.
Leia goes to stay with her Uncle Frank after learning about his existence. Frank was just wonderful in all his brooding, anti-social glory. They had a lot to give to each other, and I loved the relationship that developed between these two characters. They spend time training and tracking down leads on her brothers kidnapping. Leia is constantly brave in the face of danger, proving herself a force to be reckoned with.
She does turn to certain vices to deal with her emotions, and after finding out some horrifying news about her brother, she goes to a demon she had recently met to indulge in one of those vices. This led to one of my favorite scenes in this book! Yes, a sex scene! I thought my tablet was going to burst into flames because that sex was so HOT! Through my travels in the world of fantasy, I've learned that demon sex is the best sex, and N.P. Martin did it justice and then some!
The writing, the plot, the setting, the characters - all incredibly engaging. I loved the mystery aspect as Leia and Frank were trying to discover what a certain demon had planned and the buildup did not disappoint. The ending was fierce and exciting. I went from being sad and angry to shocked and amazed!
I will be impatiently counting down the days until the next book in this series!

“What are you talking about?” I asked her.
“Hell is coming,” she said laughing, still choking on her own blood. “Hell is coming and you can’t stop it.”
I'm always wary of the Paranormal genre, because a lot of plots are just like the tv show Supernatural. And while this book had many those elements, it also had some original stuff enough to make it enjoyable.
Leia Swanson is eighteen and a foster kid ever since she was seven and saw her father getting killed and her mother taken by a demon. Monsters have been part of her life ever since that day.
She's had a rough life, no one believed her when she said she said monsters were real, and now she deals with her life by drinking, smoking and having sex. And then her twin brother is taken, which leads her to find out the truth about what happened that night with her parent.
They were Nephilim, demon hunters, Watchers.
And now she has to use her hidden powers to find her brother.
My main problem with the book is that everything happens way to quickly.
The monsters were scary, the plot interesting but in less than a week Leia founds out she is a Nephilim, discovers she has an uncle who is also a Nephilim, begins to traing and quickly becomes a good fighter (and shooter), looks for her brother, kills monters and so on.
I know that when a person is missing you can't waste your time but still, no way she could have achieved everything she did in such a short time.
If you are looking for a book similar to Supernatural, you should choose this.

I wasn't prepared for how much I would enjoy "Hell Is Coming" by N.P. Martin! Once I started I could not put the book down except once to go to lunch with my sister where all I talked about with the book!
The story centers around 18 year old Leia and her battles to save her brother. Without giving away too much, it seems the ordeals are incredible but Leia is a strong girl when the circumstances require. I could really relate to Leia and I found myself cheering for her as the ending unfolded.
I highly recommend "Hell Is Coming" by N.P. Martin. Author N.P. Martin has done a fantastic job of creating a believable world filled with monsters, angels, demons and more. I could easily see this becoming a movie or tv mini-series. You won't be disappointed with "Hell Is Coming".

This story was ok. It was action packed but I disliked the main character Leia, just couldn't connect with her!

Full Review:
I wasn't sure how I'd feel about this book when I started since I don't tend to like books about angel wars (technically they're nephilim, but close enough) as many of them seem to be broad in scope and plot-focused. But the cover of this one drew me in, and, lucky for me, it stayed nicely focused on the personal motivations, goals, lives, and feelings of the main characters and turned out to be a great book!
The main character, Leia, had a unique voice that I had fun reading. She was flawed and very rough around the edges from her years growing up in and out of fosters homes. She also drank underage, smoked weed, had been addicted to harder drugs in the past, used sex for nothing more than stress release, and had quite a penchant for breaking glassware when upset. So she wasn't a character for the faint of heart, but by no means was she a bad person for those or any other reasons. I never found her unlikeable, and she even had me cracking up at times with her bluntness and enthusiasm. Plus she had her priorities straight. And even though she was willing to sacrifice quite a bit by the end, she also never came off as as martyr the way characters often do in those types of situations.
She wasn't the only likeable character though. Her Uncle Frank was just as gruff and has clearly made mistakes in his life, but I loved him for his secret soft, gooey center. I also found Lucas interesting and would love to get to know more about him. (Even though there was no actual romance in the book---sex, but no romance---I'd be so down for Lucas becoming the love interest! It seems like it would be fitting for Leia's character to date a demon. Plus, a nephilim-demon relationship has fun potential. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens!)
As for the plot, there was a good amount of what I guess could be called subplots, but they all tied into the story in a big enough way that it kept things moving nicely rather than getting episodic or confusing.
Overall the book was kind of Supernatural (TV show) -esque with family members hunting down demons and other nasty creatures, a veritable incoming apocalypse, deals with crossroads demons, plenty of blood and death, etc., but it had it's own unique characters and plot, making it a completely different, and enjoyable, story that I look forward to continuing!
Recommended For:
Fans of darker urban fantasy, especially those who like angels/nephilim and demons, and readers who like their characters flawed and rough around the edges.

This book took me on a ride, indeed. The overall plot was definitely something that interested me-- as a fan of Supernatural, and Constantine, and Sleepy Hollow and the like, the world of demons is something that intrigues me, and I think this book really captured the image of them, giving them a diversity that isn't seen so often, which was nice. It's cool to think of them with their own personalities, their own likes and dislikes and vices. It's fascinating, and that really caught my attention while reading. Well done.
As for the main character, though she was believable as a rounded, realistic character, I had some issues. It just-- maybe seemed a little unbelievable for me in one respect. Sure, I get that she is a Nephil child-- nephalim are the children of angels and humans traditionally, way back in Genesis. So as a Nephil, she has powers, and that makes perfect sense. The part that was unbelievable for me was that she'd only known about this demonic world and her own abilities for a week, and

What an exciting book from N.P. Martin. Leia has had a tough childhood in which her family was basically taken away from her. She's already lost her mother and her father, now her brother is missing. Leia is trying to figure out her past while trying to fight off what is haunting her presently. I really enjoyed that the main character was a strong female. Leia was very tough and resilient. She didn't let anything stop her or get in her way. Seeing her go through her journey was awesome. Leia starts to find out more about what really happened to her family and the secrets that they left behind. There is the journey of self-discovery, which I enjoyed seeing unfold. The book also really captured my attention because it is very action-packed. Leia is led on a journey that leads her to supernatural evil forces that she has to fight off. This book was great and I read it in about a day. First book I have ever read from N.P. Martin and most certainly will not be my last. I am excited that this is only book 1 and cannot wait to read book 2. The story is well-written, full of action and is sure to leave fans with the urge of wanting more. Highly recommend.

Good start
There were parts of this story I loved and parts that to me just didn't make sense. To me her actions a lot of time didn't jive with her thoughts or motivations and seemed contrived just to cary the story.

Frustrating main character
This book has a cool idea but the main character remains a bratty teenager all the way through, constantly making stupid decisions & not learning from any mistakes.
Might appeal to younger readers but I found it incredibly frustrating.

Hell And Back is the next book in the series after Hell Is Here, which is after Hell Is Coming. It is fantastic. It definitely didn't disappoint, and it was one heck of a ride! In this book, we follow Leia after she was thrown in the depths. We see the torture she goes through before she is finally released, and from there on, her life only gets harder. She has to contend with the fact of who the King is and who he isn't any longer. She has to work for him and in the process, gain a bloodlust and possibly false sense of loyalty for the King. She has more than one battle: she has yet to fully understand her demon, she has to find out a way to succeed in her mission, and she has to survive with herself in tact. Because everyone knows that Hell is no place of faith, hope, and anything other than pain and misery.
Just like in the first two books, I love the characters. I love how Leia is portrayed and how close we get to her in this book. I feel like I can predict her reactions now because of how well I feel I know her. I also love how strong she is. She may not be the same after all she's gone through, but if anything, she's stronger and has a better overall understanding which I'm sure will help her in the long run. Honestly, I admire her so much for not breaking, for not losing herself in the midst of Hell's deceit, torture, and addicting bloodlust. Hell has hardened her, but not so much that she isn't still Leia, because she is: she's still kind, caring, strong, and loving (which was shown mostly through her caring of Alice, but also her mother). She just doesn't cry or despair over the horrors of Hell anymore because she's gotten used to it. You're bound to accept the darker parts of Hell after living in them for however long Leia's been there so far.
Which brings me to her mother. How Leia's mom has any humanity left in her after all those centuries she's spent in Hell being tortured and subjected to such cruelness, I have no idea. But it's easy to see where Leia gets her strength from. Leia's mom is an assassin, which means she can definitely hold her own, but she still has heart. I expected her to be so different from how Leia remembered her, since she's been in Hell for so long, but to be honest, she's still the same. In a way. She forgets emotions, caring, love, but with Leia there, she has a light again. And the part of her she buried in order to survive in Hell starts to appear again. She's also pretty badass, just saying.
King Eblis is.... well, he's as cruel as one would expect Hell's King to be. He lies, deceives, tortures, and he's so far into the darkness he has no humanity left. And while at times he can play the part of a caring person, it's only ever to help him succeed in his games. I definitely loved him in the end though, where Leia and him had a moment, before Alice makes herself known (I can't really explain the situation because of spoilers, sorry!).
Speaking of the end, it played out so much better than what I had been conjuring up! It was... brilliant! The adrenaline, the rage, the hope, it was all so addicting and I easily lost myself in the book. I mean, I was easily hooked and lost in the story, but at that point, I was so far in I forgot I was reading a book in the first place.... I know. I'm weird. And I'll admit, I predicted what would happen with the whole Leia-must-kill-Eblis situation, like what she would end up doing. But the rest I didn't see coming until moments before that. It's great!
And now I'm being random but, to be honest, I want more of Lucas. It's obvious at times how much Leia misses him, and that makes me want them together again because she deserves some happiness, you know? And so I hope we get more of him in the next book.
Overall, Hell And Back is a brilliantly written book. I love the characters, the writing, the world, the situations, and how easy it is to fall into the story. So yeah, I recommend this to everyone.

Well, this was a rollercoaster. The first thing I want to say is that I'm a huge fan of Supernatural, and I got a smidge of a deja vu feeling, because little bits of the plot reminded me hardcore of one of the season finales for the show. Having said that, the plot did interest me, and I was engaged with it, and I kept reading because I had to know what happened next.
I loved how the demons where written, I've not really seen it done before, and I loved the idea that demons have their own personalities, each different from the last, like...well...you know....actual people! It's one of my favourite things about this book, with their different likes, dislikes, vices, and so on and so forth. And the whole image thing. Yeah.
I thought all of the characters where fun, well written, and I quite liked our main character, she was realistic, had depth, and I connected with her and rooted for her and everything. But I didn't buy the fact that after finding out and knowing about the demon world for a week, she, an 18 year old girl, was in charge. Calling all the shots. I mean every other character who was older than her, knew more than her, she pretty much had her own Bobby, and I'm like...I don't know? Maybe the character was originally older, and it was changed? It just felt off, and was kind of an annoying aspect. I felt like she should have been older, and she should have known about this longer if she's going to be in charge because it was odd.
Her tantrums where also mildly annoying, because she'd pitch a fit and come up with all the plans, everyone would go along with her, even though she's throwing tantrums like a child, and is all about the revenge, and she's not got a handle on her abilities yet and it was weird. You'd think the first time she, or others got hurt by one of her plans or decisions, that they'd stop and reconsider letting her do everything, but nope.
The world was suitably atmospheric and vivid, that and the plot combine to suck you in and it's a fun read. THAT scene with her and the demon was a bit...wow okay, didn't see it coming, and I'm not entirely sure I thought it was a good idea, but whatever. I mean....it was like...really out of nowhere, and kind of awkward, and awkward to read, and explicit and...weird.

No one believed Leia as she made her statement as a little seven year old though, and so she learned to keep her mouth shut. However, ever since turning eighteen, she sees things: the demons and their true faces even when they're walking around in human bodies (which are called meat suits). She thinks she's gone crazy. After following a trail her mother left her and scouring for answers, Leia's world is rocked and hanging by a thread. Her brother's missing, her foster mom is dead, and all she has left is the hope that an uncle she never met will help her fight demons and save her brother.
If that doesn't sound even a little intriguing, then you obviously won't like this book as much as I did.
I've actually had this in my possession for some months, and I have no idea why I waited so long to get to it. This book is amazing! It's an action packed, fast paced, and full of supernatural creatures! It has great characters, awesome action, and a fantastic world!
And so I'll start with the characters.
Leia is a great character. She's strong, brave (so much so that she always gets face to face with danger), and yeah, she makes stupid choices at times, but she never gives up. She tries to, but she is always thrust right back into the action and realizes that she has too much to lose and she can't stop now. She has a clear voice and I was rooting for her the entire novel. I can understand her character, why she couldn't kill Kasey, why she let herself be tricked at times, because I feel like we really got to know her and that really helped. I can't wait to see how she develops in the next book!
Now Frank. After learning about his existence due to the trail her mother left her, Leia goes to stay with her uncle Frank. He's a really great character as well. He's strong, brave, kind, and while he doesn't always show it in the best ways (he's fairly awkward and anti-social around people, having been living in a secluded cabin for who knows how long all on his own with his only company a dog), he definitely cares about Leia. He helps train her and toughen her up, and I really loved seeing their relationship develop. And while at times anger and secrets were on the verge of breaking their relationship, Leia always came back because Frank is the only chance she has at getting her brother back, and Frank always let her because she's family and he cares about her.
Now, onto the world. It was infested with supernatural beings and I love it! There were clubs owned by demons in the 'Perv District', as they call it, abandoned houses where serial killer Vampires lurked in the basement, and even a place where vampires got high on human blood. It was weird, strange, and most definitely intriguing! All the normal places in our world, but instead of humans there were demons. Is that not a great world to read about? And I mean, obviously there were still humans, but the world seemed to almost be run by the supernatural, as they were everywhere and I love it! It was well written and I definitely enjoyed every little bit of it.
Overall I love Hell Is Coming and I recommend this book to everyone, especially if you love paranormal, action packed, fantasy books.

Somehow my review of Hell and Back managed to slip through the cracks, meaning that by comparison to others I've written on Neal's (N.P. Martin) materia,l this will be among the shortest. As the third central novel of the Warchers, this one brings forth a potentially inevitable venture. With a parent you desperately hope to emancipate and their position of being held captive in Hell, the travelling there becomes so much more assured. Leia Swanson has grown and become so much stronger in power, body, and emotion, since her Watcher life took off like a bat out of hell. The most exciting element of this story relates not to the fictional world where the Watchers exists and the stories detail, it's in the fulfilling possibility that Hell and Back is to take place in the ever elusive location of Hell. Authors and stories have been known to take on the challenge of what is much more regularly the place likened to the Underworld; a dimensional location that whilst it might contain demons, it is often not what our nightmares are made of. Neal has, however, tackled that much rarer place in our psyches - the nightmarish circles the once very popular and more regimented definition offered by Dante. Regarding Hell and Back you'd do much better to think of the latter of the nine circles and as Dante's contribution more than any other, but don't consider Dante's as though Neal has merely borrowed from that literature or any other, it is only meant to be a conceptualised thing to consider.
Neal has tackled the environment with gusto and has created a real 'Hell' for readers to indulge in, a place that'll deeply scar Leia irrespective of what does or doesn't happen. The ability to relish in a very tangible and horrid place is a rarer occurrence and a notable contribution to both the books and the urban fantasy literature; I do hope that this contribution gets a similar appreciation from other readers as well as Neal's fan base. The gritty stories and dvents that have taken place to date are added to immeasurably by this new gem. The only sad thing I've observed or experienced throughout the enjoyment of Neal's series is the disconcerting lack of appreciation and the failing of his series to go viral like the good ones we all know and can list in ways where crossover occurs despite our idiosyncratic tastes. The Watchers is easily as good, and is well written, as the few series that really take off. This element hurts us all, writer and readers alike: if a series isn't experiencing economic growth and sustainability, then authors are forced into moving on and/or creating new series regardless of how good the actual readers thought of it. With so many stories being passed off as paranormal (romance) fantasy that are paranormal only because certain characters are a supernatural species but not because the story takes on supernatural storylines, there's so many reasons why series don't take off that have nothing to do with the quality and entertainment offered by authors affected.

I thoroughly enjoyed this first book in this new to me series. I received this book for free from the author's website, so was a bit dubious as to how good it would be, but I needed a book about demons to fulfil a reading challenge and am so glad I chose to read it.
Leia is an 18 year old twin, having lived in several foster care homes since she was 7 after witnessing a demon and his hellhound kill her parents. Everyone else thought she was distraught with grief, but Leia knew what she had seen even if she didn't understand it.
After visiting her old family home one night, her old next door neighbour hands her an envelope from her mother that she had been given all those years ago. Inside it was a key to a lock up storage facility and when Leia finds the lock up and sees the things inside it, she starts to realise that everything she thought she knew about her parents is not what or who they really were. Her life changes instantly! She finds out who she really is and also finds a long lost uncle, who helps her come to terms with her new nature.
Leia is thrust into a war between Heaven and Hell and when her twin brother Josh is taken by the demons she will stop at nothing to get him back, even if it means losing her own soul in the process.
I liked Leia for the most part. Yes, she had silly temper tantrums, but baring in mind she is only just 18, has had a crappy life so far, suddenly finds a long lost relative, develops powers she knows nothing about and then loses her brother and best friend all in such a short space of time, I can completely understand where she is coming from. I think I would snap after all that she goes through as well. She is reckless at times, but that just shows her inexperience and desperation to get her brother back.
A lot of other reviewers have mentioned the similarities between this book and the TV show Supernatural and yes I guess they both have demons in and you can summon one at a crossroads, but I felt that the similarities ended there really. The plot was fast paced, I guess it needed to be with the time frame that Leia had to work in, and the characters were well developed. There are still some things to be revealed, which hopefully more will come out in the next book. The demons were pretty nasty and I loved the transformation at the end. Can't wait to see how that develops!

This is the story of an 18 year old girl who finds out she's a Nephilim with a family legacy of hunting demons.
It's clear that a large amount of thought and effort has gone into this book, and it doesn't slack off at any point in terms of trying to deliver and keeping up a good pace. The protag is a strong-willed, know-it-all, and I found her very annoying but also thought her reactions pretty accurate in terms of 18 year olds (I teach them, I know!).
To be honest, I don't know exactly why I didn't enjoy this more, as it has all the elements I usually like, such as violence, demons etc. Some of the things that made me hesitate are as follows:
-The beginning is a total back-story info dump. You get introduced to Leia then get a whole heap of her background thrown at you, in terms of her drugs and being fostered and dabbling with the occult etc.
- The book borrows heavily from the show Supernatural and also a bit of Grimm. The author does say that he is a fan of and inspired by Supernatural, but so much of this book is lifted straight out of it, to the degree it is practically fan-fic set in the Supernatural Verse. Demon traps, a special knife that can kill demons, light coming from eyes and mouth when demons and angels are stabbed with it, drinking demon blood and turning evil, Watchers (read *hunters), cross-roads demons, the Angel Cassiel (read *Castiel), a car trunk full of weapons, journals kept by Watchers with drawings (Grimm), a kick-ass mother Watcher with a secret past (Grimm), demon faces only the Watchers can see (Grimm and Woge)... None of this makes the book bad by any means, and could appeal to fans of the shows. I just feel if you are using someone else's ideas you should explicitly acknowledge it. There's a difference between 'inspired by' and 'directly using the ideas of'.
Overall, I feel that this is a reasonably enjoyable book by a promising writer.

I received a copy of Hell is Coming by N.P. Martin, through Library Thing.
First I would like to say that I am currently staring a picture of Neal and ummm…this is exactly what I thought Frank would look like. I swear this is the face my mind’s eye conjured up while reading this book.
Well, now that I have finished this book, I am very sad. I have nothing notable to read until the copy of book 2 arrives. I got this copy in exchange for a review, but I was about ¾ through it when I went to Amazon and purchased the new one Hell is Here.
I had to get the new one because this one is so wonderful, so awesome that I just knew the withdrawals would kill me until I could get back to Leia and see what she would do next.
Neil, you are an amazing storyteller. Very detailed and extremely intriguing. I couldn’t put this book down and I didn’t care. I got sucked into your world and would really have no problem staying there. This book is a very strong stand alone, no doubt, but you are clever because you set us up for the pre-quel and the sequel. I want Frank’s background story now. I also want to stay with Leia. No problem, I can read two books at once, while watching TV, playing on my phone and playing with my dogs. I’m good like that! Lol But seriously….
To the folks that are about to embark on this journey…have a blast and make some time for yourself. You won’t want to put this down. If you are a fan of urban fantasy you will love this book for staying true to the genre and keeping it real. If you are not a fan but are just checking it out….Thank goodness you picked this book because I am sure you will try more now.

Leia Swanson has had it rough, she's been in foster care for 11 years after witnessing her parent's death by demons when she was 7. She and her twin brother Josh have found a dcent foster-mother and are starting to thrive. Then she starts seeing demons enerywhere. To top that off she finds out her mother had a secret life, a life that would impact her in ways she couldn't believe as a Watcher, a demon hunter and she's a Nephilim too. Following clues left for her by an old neighbor, she meet her Uncle Frank, who's also a Nephilem Watcher, who begins to train her as one. During this, her brother is kidnapped to Hell and a war is coming and her brother is one of Hell's generals!
N.P. Martin paints a bleak existance in a town somewhere in the West. Demon abound and control all the illicit activities; drugs, porn, strip clubs and prostitution and use humans as food to possess and kill the end result is enough twist to warp a Rubik's Cube. Well written, with character's that become three dimensional as the book progresses. He gives demon a someone different hierarchy that other writers. A great read for fans of demons and possession. The Horror genre typically turns me off but Martin deviates from contemporary norms and goed back writer's more in tune with William Peter Blatty, H. P. Lovecraft and Ira Levin than Stephen King, Kim Henkel& Tobe Hooper and Jay Anson. Fans of the Supernatural wilol not be disappointed.

This is the first book in a new urban fantasy series that I picked up and I'm glad I did because it turned out to be my kind of read.
The book tells the story of Leia Swanson, and 18 year old foster kid who finds out she is able to see demons in their true form, demons who masquerade as humans in Mercy City, the fictional setting of the novel.
Leia soon discovers that her mother, taken by demons when Leia was just seven years old, was a demon hunter and a Nephilim (half angel, half human). When Leia's brother Josh goes missing she sets out to find him and get him back, meeting Frank, the uncle she thought she never had.
From there, the novel picks up pace as Leia learns the ropes of being a Watcher and goes about finding her brother, battling demons and even vampires along the way.
This book is strong on character and action. I loved Leia the main character. She is strong, smart and makes good decisions.
The end of the novel is great, with an action-packed climax that will surpise you.
Obviously the book is the first in a series and the end of this part promises more to come in the next books.
I can't wait to read the next part of this series.

The book tells the story of Leia Swanson, and 18 year old foster kid who finds out she is able to see demons in their true form, demons who masquerade as humans in Mercy City, the fictional setting of the novel.
Leia soon discovers that her mother, taken by demons when Leia was just seven years old, was a demon hunter and a Nephilim (half angel, half human). When Leia's brother Josh goes missing she sets out to find him and get him back, meeting Frank, the uncle she thought she never had.
From there, the novel picks up pace as Leia learns the ropes of being a Watcher and goes about finding her brother, battling demons and even vampires along the way.

Leia is 18 and has a twin brother named Josh. Even though they are 18, Leia and Josh still live with their last foster parent, Diane. Leia has a unique problem. Since she was a child, she's been able to see demons. A demon killed her dad and took her mom 11 years ago and nobody believes her. Leia used pills and alcohol to try to deal with seeing the demons while everyone else thinks she's crazy. Leia went with her friend Kasey to her old home that everything with her parents had happened in. An old neighbor gave her a manilla envelope containing an address, a video, and a key to a storage unit. She also finds out she has an uncle she never knew about named Frank. Leia is very close to her brother as he's the only one that's always been in her life. She's protective, loyal, and has strength she never thought she had. She goes on a journey and finds other people that see the demons and fight them. While you are reading, you constantly finding yourself rooting for her. I enjoyed the book and recommend it to others that like paranormal stories.

Given to me with the expectation of an honest review. I signed up to try a new author and received this free book. I had no idea about the book. I rarely read dark books because I prefer happy or funny (or both) romances and shifter books. I do like thrillers and mysteries but they are hard for me to judge whether I'm going to like them before I read them. After reading a few pages of this book, I wasn't sure that I would like it. But I haven't read or tried to read many books that I did not like well enough to finish them. In this book, we meet a girl who has seen demons and know they exist. Her father was killed and her mother was taken. For the next few years she and her twin bounce from foster home to foster home. Leia has her eighteenth birthday and she starts seeing demon faces in people's bodies. She wants to see her home because she thinks it is time. Her neighbor gives her an envelope that her mother wanted her to have if something happened to her. She goes to the storage locker and finds clothes and weapons. She thought her mother was an FBI agent but they don't use swords or potions. She finds that she has an uncle and she is going to find out who her mother was.

Her uncle agrees to train her as a Watcher, and while she struggles with learning about her family history, she must also deal with becoming a part of a strange and violent world. Will Leia be able to save her brother or will Hell decimate the world as we know it?
Hell Is Coming is the first book in the paranormal urban fantasy Watcher's Series. You can tell the author is a fan of Supernatural, because there are a lot of similarities between this book and the show. Which isn't a bad thing if you enjoy the show, but what could have been a very intriguing story was poorly executed.
I didn't like Leia, and my disconnection from her definitely affected my reading enjoyment. I was more interested in Frank and Eva.

With the market oversaturated with paranormal fiction, it's hard to stand out amongst the others. Taking a teenager and placing them into the middle of Armageddon is one way to do it, but should only be attempted with an original idea.
I want to review this book two ways. The first is that I want to point out the formulaic nature of the plot, from its usual "kidnapped friend/relative leads to the MC's earth-shattering revelation", to the "demon wants Hell everywhere" he plot line. Not very original, and Leia was annoying as hell, no to quite written old enough to be 18.
On the other hand, I want t review this book as a great adventure, with marvelous characters and imagery. I can't decide what I think of Eva and Frank, but they weren't really there long enough to give you a good look anyway.

Hell is coming is the first book in the Watchers series. Leia Swanson is Eighteen and a Foster child. She soon discovers she can see Demons in their true form. As they masquerade as Humans in Mercy city where she lives. Leia soon discovers that her Mother was taken by Demons when Leia was seven years old, her Mother was a Demon hunter and a Nephilim( half angel half human} Leia's Brother Josh goes missing she goes looking for him to get him back and she meets Frank the Uncle she didn't know she had. The book picks up pace from there as Leia learns about being a watcher and trying to find Josh her Brother, battling demons and vampires along the way. The book is strong on action and i loved Leia's character she is strong sassy and smart. The end of the story is action packed. I look forward reading the next book in the series.

3rd book in the series. This book is about how Leia is taken to hell by her own mother. Leia’s mother was a watcher and she was killed in front of Leia when Leia was very young by the demon and his dog that she had sold her soul too. While in hell Lia is tortured and taunted at all times. She does not know how long she has been in hell because time in hell is irrelevant. Once she is taken from her own prison coffin into the actual kingdom of hell Leia must wonder was is real and what is not but in hell nothing is like the real that is on earth and anything goes. Leia must get back to earth, she must save her brother from the torments of hell but the only way back is by taking the life of her father, who has now become the king of hell and is far from the man she remembers on earth. Good read can be confusing if read alone without the rest of the series.
