WHEN LOVE MEANS TAKING A CHANCE
A decade ago, Ana Capuano was the golden girl of Seasalter High—the ambitious and unstoppable valedictorian. But law school broke her, and now she’s stuck in a life that feels like a shadow of what should have been. She’s convinced she’s a failure with nothing to offer to anyone, much less a romantic partner.

Roman Montgomery was the school’s star athlete who operated with an effortless charm. But watching his father walk out and seeing his brother’s marriage crumble convinced him that love is a disaster waiting to happen. To protect himself—and any woman who dares get close to him—he keeps romance at arm’s length.

Now, fate throws Ana and Roman back together at the enchanting, newly opened Moonrise Inn when they return home for the wedding of their best friends. But when the nuptials are abruptly canceled, they find themselves caught in the middle of their friends’ resentful breakup, their loyalties tested.

Ana and Roman can’t ignore the crackling tension and undeniable chemistry between them. Acting on their feelings means risking their friends’ disapproval—and taking a chance on the kind of love they both swore they’d never trust.

Author Jennifer Safrey launches her new Moonrise Inn Romance series with On This Harvest Moon and this tale captivated me front the start. A masterful storyteller, Safrey weaves a romance that is heartfelt, fast-paced, and impossible to put down (my burnt chicken at dinner can attest to that.)

Heroine, Anna Capuano, and hero, Roman Montgomery are strong, fully developed characters who drew me in from the very first page and resonated deeply as their journey unfolded. Once the golden girl of Seasalter High, Ann’s bright future dimmed after law school derailed her dreams. Roman, the school’s former star athlete, now keeps his heart locked away, convinced love only leads to pain. When they are brought together for their best friends’ wedding, only to find the wedding abruptly canceled, fate traps them in close quarters at the enchanting Moonrise Inn. What follows is a tale brimming with crackling tension, undeniable chemistry and the challenge of risking both friendship and heartbreak for a shot at love.

The secondary cast of character is equally delightful, each with unique voices and personalities. The setting, the banter, and the romance in a way that made me want to linger in this world long after the last page. I was fortunate to receive an advance copy and am happy to report: On This Harvest Moon is a five-star story and I can’t wait to see what the next book in the series brings.

This first book of a new romance series introduces the reader to the newly-opened Moonrise Inn, to its attractive, wise, and widowed innkeeper, and to the Inn's first guests. The small town of Seasalter, Rhode Island provides a charming backdrop as relationships rekindle and develop among former residents back in town for a wedding that also serves as a high school reunion of sorts. The wedding, with its unexpected outcome, gives characters opportunity to interact with family and friends from their past...and the reader is treated to many insights about how the past echoes into the future, how grief can lead to growth, and how learning to fearlessly face failure and insecurity often serve as a necessary prelude to happiness and success. From its musings on loss, through its consideration of the burden of personal, social, and familial expectations, to its steamy scene of a dream fulfilled, this romance offers slices of life that reflect the many types of contemporary relationships that can provide support and joy along life's way. As The Moonrise Inn opens its doors, the reader can anticipate many romances- in-waiting as its series continues.

This is the first book of the Moonrise Inn series, and it is a great glimpse of what is to come. This book is a great read for a cozy afternoon!
The story of Anna and Rowan starts in HS, she was the bright star who left to pursuit law studies but burned, he is the star jock who doesn't believe in love after what he has experienced, but silently always had feelings for Anna. Fate sets in them in the new Inn as their mutual friends are hosting their wedding there, but nothing prepares them for what is to come after the wedding falls through, and their chemistry starts to bloom once again, and they will have to make choices based on their experiences and friendships.
The plot is detailed, showing you insights to all the characters, making them relatable and human. The conversations and moments are intelligents and loaded with insights. Just a great book that sets the upcoming stories, too!.

Julianna(now Ana) was valedictorian and all set to become a lawyer until that very thing broke her. Now she is back home for a friend’s wedding when she encounters Roman the popular high school jock. They join together to help their friends after a disastrous wedding day break up. Sparks fly. Will she let go of her past and try something new. Will he finally win the heart of the girl who has had his for nearly eleven years? Or will her past hurt be too much? What a fantastic heart wrenching love story. So much emotional growth in many of the characters. Absolutely loved it. Can’t wait for more in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book provided by booksprout.

This is a warm and cozy novel, a very enjoyable read. The situation is realistic as are the characters, which is how I like romance novels -- I want to believe in them. And I did believe in these characters, while I was also immediately brought into this interesting situation, with their reunion and the wedding unexpectedly falling apart, which creates lots of questions that keep you turning pages. Super fun and enjoyable.
