Another one that was so close to winning me over
I'm sorry but, for me anyway, the omegaverse roleplay in this one simply wasn't remotely sexy at all.
I feel bad saying that, because I didn't actually mind the relationship elements of an 'alpha' super protective MC and someone who wanted to feel they were being taken care of.
But, like with all the other books in this series, something about the narrative always stops me rating them higher.
It's such a shame because I adore Devon Falls as a setting and I love the community and friends group that has developed in the series.
As with the others that had a mystery element, it was obvious from the start who the bad guy was, although the motivation behind it was a twist i didn't see coming.
I will read Scout's book because it sounds like there's all sorts of secrets waiting to come out there.

June 28, 2026I've been loving the entire Devon Falls series and this book is no different! It's a sweet, steamy age gap story where both men have lived through different experiences as family of high profile politicians... and they have even more to bond over!
I love that they connect on so many levels and that the small town feeling embraces them both! If you like that small town vibe with just a hint of angst, you should pick up the entire Devon Falls series, despite them being standalone, you'll just fall deeper in love with the Falls by starting at the beginning.

I have loved this whole series so much. Every couple has been such a joy to read and seeing them all find their HEA has been so fulfilling.
I loved Milo and Noah so much. They met at a time where both were dealing with so much trauma and insecurities. Noah was dealing with his tragic past and being told constantly he had to be a certain way in order to fit in. Milo had to deal with the fallout of his career and the indecision of whether to go back or not.
When Noah crossed paths with Milo, he never imagined how their lives would change. Milo was beautiful but most importantly, kind. He stepped in to protect Noah after he’s being belittled by a staff member and did so without any hesitation.
Noah’s little crush goes full force after seeing the way Milo stood up for him. For Noah, these kinds of situations were an everyday day thing so he was used to it.
Milo couldn’t help but be protective of Noah. Something about him just turned on those alpha protective instincts and he just couldn’t stand by and let Noah be treated like that. He never expected that encounter to become so much more down the road, though. Both being the sons of opposite political parties made it hard for them to be together.
But even knowing that there could never be anything more than friendship between them didn’t stop Milo from falling for Noah. He loved his sweet personality and how much he shined when he wasn’t surrounded by the people trying to put him down.
What began as a secret hookup, became the most precious relationship either of them had ever had. Noah had always wanted someone to put him first and claim him. While Milo always wanted to pour all his love and affection into someone who wouldn’t find him overbearing or possessive.
They both found someone who loved them for who they were and accepted their flaws and insecurities. For Noah, his body was something he always felt ashamed of, but Milo showed him in the most tender way how much he loved every single each of his body.

I really enjoyed this story. I loved that Milo worshiped what Noah considered a flaw. Loved that he cherished everything about him and let him know not just with words but with actions how perfect Noah was for him. Finding someone to love us for us is the greatest thing that can happen to us.
Can’t wait for the next book. I don’t want this series to end!

We get protective older doctors and emotional cruelty by professors and kindness given when needed in such a big way. Be back into this world left me happy. The author writing is as always well thought out, and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shockingly intimate I have become a huge fan of this author. The author writes with so much intensity and emotion pulled from each book it’s felt page after page. Some have quick witted story lines that are so perfect and lets you believe you have a front row seat. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills.

It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Memories are a funny thing - I thought I liked this series - I actually don't - I thought I liked this book and... I kind of do?
The third act shenigans - including but not limited to a break-up made me think I am going to hit that one star (I almost never do that) and spend the entire review disecting why I was mad beyond reason.
But it was a small town romance I came to like at some point in time and I was... content enough, for me the most part. The "kinky" omega/Alpha stuff? That was just too adorkable. There's not better word for it - it was dorky and nerdy and cute, just yesterday I complained about Omegaverse and this was such a suprise I just... liked it, I guess? It was just too sweet, the big doctor saying just these absurd lines from some fictional romance "I will claim you" type of thing and then he's like "psst, remember red, yellow, green" before "getting down to business" and it was hard not to laugh at their... eh... compatibility?
I think this was leaning quite heavily on what you people call hurt-soothe; that doesn't look right, maybe I mean more of a... fantasy fullfilment? Both? Basically, the social worker guy is shy, anxious and small, he has insecurities and hurt in his heart and then he meets the doctor and he just really adressess and fixes/makes better all those little chinks in his life. It's such an old-fashioned, almost heteronormative but backwards "let me fix you" romance that doesn't take itself seriously enough to make it too much on the nose? Like, I was able to identify and cheer him on instead of being dissapointed with his lack of spine...
until said 3rd act dumpster fire, anyway.
I see why I DNF-ed the first two books, I think I might be mixing this series up with something else, these types of plots do tend to blend together.
I am not a huge fan of the book but you know what, I enjoyed reading it, it was, for the most part, one of those nice and uncomplicated stories you'll forget in like a day but while it lasted, it was nice. I need nice, tbh, I've been getting picky the last few days, darn my brain.
I will definitely give the next book a chance.

I’m pretty new to JE Birk’s work and I’m looking forward to reading more. I really enjoyed this book and thought that it was another good addition to the Devon Falls Series. I loved Milo & Noah. I thought that they were great together and their chemistry was completely off the charts. What they both want out of a relationship lines up completely which is fantastic as they had failed relationships in the past due to this. What they both want/need isn’t wrong they just needed each other.
I really liked how their relationship progressed from knowing about other due to both their parents being political rivals, even though they like each other and have pretty much the same political values, to finally meeting in a hotel lift of all things and Milo being his caring protective self when Noah’s father COS Ezra shows up and is being his usual a*sehole self towards Noah, to Milo giving Noah his business card and told him to get in touch when things become to much as he knows what it’s like being constantly in the spotlight, to becoming work colleagues, roommates, friends and then to being absolutely everything to each other when Noah moves to Devon Falls to get a job at the community centre that Milo is helping Gabe, Colin & Tom get it ready to open, even though it’s Gabe’s baby.
I adored being able to catch up with the characters that we’ve gotten to know and fall in love with during this amazing series and if Devon Falls was a real life place I’d totally be down for a visit. I enjoyed meeting Scout and I’m looking forward to reading his story Forgiven in the Falls when it’s released, as well as more books from JE Birk in the future. I’d recommend this book and author to others.

Found in the Falls by J.E. Birk is another fantastic addition to the Devon Falls series and a reminder of why this series remains one of my favorites.
This story follows Milo and Noah, whose lives are already complicated by the fact that their parents are political rivals. Noah arrives in Devon Falls to work as the social worker for the new community center while navigating the challenges created by his father's manipulative chief of staff, Ezra. From the start, Milo and Noah's connection feels genuine, heartfelt, and incredibly easy to root for.
Both characters carry emotional baggage from their pasts, and I loved watching them work through those struggles together. The age-gap dynamic adds another layer of tension, with Milo hesitant to pursue a relationship despite the strong attraction between them. Their path to a hard-earned happily-ever-after is filled with growth, vulnerability, and plenty of emotional payoff. One of my favorite aspects of the book was seeing Noah gain confidence in himself, while Milo's protective nature made him impossible not to love.
The chemistry between these two is outstanding. The spice is incredibly well done, and the Alpha/Omega role-playing element fits their relationship perfectly. More importantly, I loved how their intimacy supported Noah's journey toward greater comfort with both his body and his sexuality.
No Devon Falls book would be complete without the beloved community that makes this series so special. The return of familiar faces, the annual Leaf Festival, and the strong found-family atmosphere all added so much warmth to the story. Watching the town embrace Noah and welcome him into the fold was one of the most heartwarming parts of the book.

Found in the Falls is the 4th book in J.E. Birk's Devon Falls series. I do think it can be read as a stand-alone if you haven't read the others, but I think you might want to. This book, and the whole series, is full of found family and fabulous characters.
Milo is a doctor in NYC but came to Devon Falls for a short while. Noah is a recent graduate in social work. Milo’s mom and Noah’s dad are potential political adversaries but they do really like each other.
First met by chance in an elevator before a political event. Milo stands-up to a side character for Noah. After that first meeting, they begin texting with each other. Noah is looking for a change and so he comes to Devon Falls for a job Milo helped him get.

I hate that they have to consider others before themselves. Even if others don’t want them to and they want Noah and Milo to do what’s best for them, these two carry the world on their shoulders and have the natural wish to consider others.
I love how Bear (the dog) just becomes a part of Noah and Milo’s lives. It was an easy way to see how people in Devon Falls do the same so naturally. It’s wonderful to see so many of the amazing characters who live in Devon Falls.
One final note…I love a good pun and I would totally buy some of Noah's shirts.

Milo is a doctor in NYC but came to Devon Falls for a short while. Noah is a recent graduate in social work. Milo’s mom and Noah’s dad are potential political adversaries but they do really like each other.
First met by chance in an elevator before a political event. Milo stands-up to a side character for Noah. After that first meeting, they begin texting with each other. Noah is looking for a change and so he comes to Devon Falls for a job Milo helped him get.

FOUND IN THE FALLS is the fourth book in the Devon Falls series. I haven't read any of the previous books, but I don't feel as though I've missed anything.
This one is about the sons of politicians - Noah is the son of Uncle Stan (it makes sense when you read it, I promise), and Milo is the son of Lilah. Both of the parents are New York state senators. They may be the politicians, but the sons have their share of the spotlight.

I'm so happy there's a new Devon Falls book. I received my ARC this morning and spent the day reading it (not a short book, either). Definitely a book I could not put down.
This can be read as a standalone, although you might as well read the other 3, since they're all fantastic. The mains from the other 3 books have large parts in this book - they make up the found family that Noah and Milo become part of.
Dr. Milo comes to Devon Falls to help with the opening of the new community center - he's taking a break from his practice after getting sued by unhappy relatives of a patient. Noah comes to Devon Falls after graduating college to work at the new community center, and to get away from home. The 2 of them are connected by parents who are both talking about running for governor - they would be political adversaries. They are attracted to each other immediately, and work up to a 'try it and see' relationship (if Noah's dad decides to run for governor against Milo's mother, then they would have to separate - also Milo intends to go back home after the community center opens).
These 2 are very right for each other, and very cute together. Even their spicy times alpha/omega role playing is cute.
Getting the community center ready to open, preparing for the fall festival, and sorting out a huge issue between Noah and his father regarding a chief of staff that is trying to blackmail Noah are all big plot points.
I enjoyed this book a lot and am eager for the next.

I love being back in Devon Falls! Another great story in this series. This time it is Milo and Noah’s story! Noah hasn’t had it easy. Losing his mom in the way he did when he was a kid has left his scars. But he was raised by his uncle who loves him deeply. And who, unfortunately for Noah, has a high profile political career. Being in the spotlight is the worst place for Noah to be but he knows his uncle does good work. Though his advisor is unkind and harsh with Noah. Which Milo catches when him and Noah run into one another. Milo rises to Noah’s defense. And with Milo’s own mom in politics, he gets it. It starts a friendship between them. And when Noah needs to get away, Milo offers Devon Falls as an escape. Working at the new community center that is being developed in Devon Falls is great for Noah. And it gives Milo and Noah a chance to get to know one another better…and explore the sparks between them. They are exactly what one another needs. They have great chemistry and the dynamic between them works so well with them. I loved getting to know them and watch them fall hard for one another. I also loved seeing our other favorite characters from this series and what they have been up to. And even more, looks like we have a new character who will be getting their book next! So happy to see this series continue and can’t wait for the next love story!

This book was so beautifully written. I fell in love with Noah & Milo. I loved the role-play they did; it was hot. The build-up of their relationship was just so well written. How can anyone not fall in love with these two? The protectiveness was so beautiful, let me tell you. Noah was lucky when Milo (who is a Dr.) saved him from feeling the humiliation he felt in the hotel; it made him feel special. Noah felt so special and cared for, and that is what all of us out here want in our own lives. This was written in the town of Devon Falls. This is the fourth book in this series, and I felt it was a great story for this series. I haven't read them all, but I really want to now. Milo just protects Noah, and you couldn't help falling in love with Milo. The love that was built between the two of them was so well written. I loved the alpha/omega roleplay. The Kinks are one of my all-time faves. I understand a lot of these kinks. The body dysmorphia was a wonderful storyline. I have had that personally, so when an author takes the chance and adds this into their story, it was fantastic. I have to read more of J.E. Birk's books.

I enjoyed this trip back to Devon Falls! This time we are meeting Milo and Noah. Milo. An orthopedist, is best friends with two characters from the previous books. When he needs an escape from his everyday life, he runs to Devon Falls and begins working with Gabe on the new community center. Noah is looking for a job following graduation school and Milo suggests the community center. Soon they are working together and sharing the cabin that is part of the community center.
Milo and Noah have been attracted to each other from the moment they met and the attraction keeps building. When they finally say screw all the reasons they shouldn’t be together, the chemistry between them is explosive. Noah lacks self esteem (especially where his size is concerned) and Milo helps him build it up. They role play Alpha/Omega in the bedroom but very much exude the same roles outside of the bedroom as well.
I really enjoyed seeing all the past couples! They were such a big part of this story and I loved it! I loved the way they took Noah in and made him feel welcome immediately. I do wish we had gotten more of that group chat because it was greatly entertaining! I can’t wait to go back to Devon Falls and see who Scout is hiding from!

I'll start this review off by saying I love J.E. Birk's writing! Their books are always full of found family goodness that I love to see/read about, along with having a diverse 'cast' of characters you can't help but end up loving and wanting more of.
Noah and Milo are absolutely adorable together!! From the time they first met on the elevator, to Milo rescuing Noah and Bear from the Gondola, to being each other's dates to prom, their relationship was just an absolute joy to read about. Their banter and dialogue made me smile and at times want to 'aw' out loud, they might not have known each other for a long time but that didn't matter. They had a connection that went deeper than the length of time they technically knew each other for, and I loved being able to see their connection form and grow deeper and more intense as the book progressed.
I also loved seeing all the side characters! There was new faces being introduced as well as some familiar faces making appearances and I just LOVED that. Overall, I think this is a very cute book and is well worth reading if you have the time to.
I'm very excited for the next book and can't see what else unfolds for the people in this cozy and quaint, maple loving town.

He plans to eventually return to NYC and his medical practice. Milo’s mother, Lilah, is awesome and fierce. So is his older sister, human rights lawyer Mia.
Do yourself a favor and read this book. Nay, read the entire series. I'm excited for the next book, "Forgiven in the Falls". I rabidly recommend it.

The story this time follows Milo and Noah, two men who were “not supposed” to fall in love, because of their age gap, and because their parents are political rivals. But, of course, love doesn’t follow a specific pattern or a pre-established plan, and the two of them find themselves working together in Devon Falls.
It is Milo, actually, that offers a job opportunity to Noah in the small Vermont town.
I’m not going to spoiler anything here, so what I can say is that I really loved Milo and Noah, their chemistry, the way they are.
Milo is very protective of Noah, as well as of everyone he loves. He’s generous, and a problem solver, always trying to find a solution for the people around him. Noah is younger, shy, but nonetheless generous and passionate. They were a perfect combination together.
And of course, it is always great to revisit Devon Falls, with all the characters we already met in the previous books. For me, it's a solid 5 stars. Looking forward to reading next story.

This Devon Falls entry follows Milo and Noah, the sons of political rivals. Noah and Milo meet and then reconnect in Devon Falls where both men are regrouping—Noah as the social worker for the new community center and Milo helping to get the center off the ground with his friends in a supporting role. The age gap between them makes Milo hesitant to pursue his attraction to the younger Noah, but he can’t help his protective feelings toward him, especially when weird things keep happening that seem like they’re driving a wedge between Noah and his father. It’s also impossible not to feel protective toward Milo when you learn all he’s been through because of his mother’s campaign and when he has such a big heart and has only ever wanted to help his patients. I like how this explored the sacrifices and difficulties both men faced because of political life, and I loved how Devon Falls embraced and found ways to support each of them as members of the community they valued and didn’t want to lose. I appreciate the found family vibes this series continues to be known for. I was so excited for the HEA, and I can’t wait to return to the Falls.

But I felt it works for them as a couple and the dynamic they are developing. I love that Noah gains confidence thru Milo’s protection and their deepening relationship.
There’s plenty of humor and steam and, my favorite, a large dose of found family as Noah settles into his job in Devon Falls. I love how Birk finds a way to mix a light-hearted read, with the depth of trauma & hurt that her main characters bring. It’s an easy read but with growth & feels.
I read Fanboy in the Falls, book 3 in this series, and really enjoyed it. It really wasn’t necessary in order to read this one but I like the fact that Birk and this series are pushing me a little outside my normal reads. I’ll definitely be keeping my eye out for what comes next.

June 26, 2026I love this series as I’ve loved every book in it and book 4 is no exception. I always finish wishing I lived in Devn Falls with these people. They warm my heart and lead me believing in love this story focuses on Noah and Milo two men who meet when their respective parents are running for political office. They meet later in Devn Falls and decide to open a community center together. I love how protective Milo is of Noah, who has had much trauma in his life and really all he wants to do is make the world a better place. I love a story where both men struggle, but are supportive of one another leading to love. This book has many emotional moments and so many twists that I did not see coming that kept me engaged along with the romance, and it’s also fun, while this is a standalone, to see earlier couples making an appearance in this book. Review of an advance copy from GRR. No incentive was provided in exchange for my honest opinion.
Noah and Milo's story is by no means a sedate one. Political intrigue, childhood tragedy, adoptive family, and a very specific Dom-Sub dynamic (Alpha-Omega) all feature in this story.
There is a genuine villain to this story, complete with a dramatic reveal, fiendish plotting, and white knight moments aplenty. There is a shift in tone and energy as things escalate that I will admit to finding a little jarring.
The Alpha-Omega theme was... informative, but carries the same risk as any role-playing element; if you're not immersed in it the instinct is to giggle. I also suspect it will close off a cohort of readers - credit to the author, all triggers and key themes are identified at the very beginning. Caveat lector!

This was such a fun, adorable, cozy small-town MM romance. With all the heartwarming feel-good vibes, Milo and Noah's story brought a huge smile to my face and made my heart so happy. They are just so freaking sweet and cute together. I got all the swoony vibes, making me giggle and kick my feet. The spice was also hot and kinky, making it extra fun to read. The best balance of sweet and steamy.
This is my first book in the series, and I'm so happy I found this author. I'm eager to read more of her books.

Milo and Noah are both children of politics. Milo's mother and Noah's father serve as State Senators together, and the political machine has burned both men. One of Milo's professional failures was used to sink legislation sponsored by his mother, and Noah has been suffering under the micromanagement of his father's chief of staff. After a chance meeting, they strike up a friendship, and when Noah needs a job and a place to land after graduation, Milo can invite him to help open the Devon Falls Community Center. I loved being able to visit Devon Falls again and see it work its magic. Milo and Noah are perfect for each other and it was wonderful to see them take their place in this community

I loved going back to Devon Falls. It has been almost a year since the last book was released so it took me a minute to remember who was who and what all had happened up to this point but once I got it all back this story sucked me right back in. I love how involved the other 3 couples from the first 3 books are in this story line, the found family in this group makes my heart so happy. Milo and Noah are so perfect for each other, their wants, need’s and desires align so perfectly. And Bear who is the bestest girl ever!! I simply adored this book as well as Devon Falls as a whole and I cannot wait for Scout’s book.

Review of advance copy
This is a very sweet small-town romance with a dash of political machinations and fun kinky times. I really enjoyed getting back to this found family and the slightly crazy town. I especially liked how gentle this relationship was - there was some drama and some miscommunications but underneath everything the gentleness prevailed and that was a balm to my heart. The book is maybe not overly exciting, the bad guy is obvious very early on and the two main characters just fit so well together, but that was just what I needed at the moment - a mental vacation from the tense times we live through right now.

Noah was drawn to Milo after Milo helped him. When an opportunity to work with him opens up Noah relocates to work with Milo. Moving to Devon Falls, Vermont allows Noah to work with Milo and friends who are working on opening up a community center. They become friends and then things progress as they get to know one another. The chemistry is there. They have a lot in common and they fall in love. In this case following along results in two guys finding one another and building a relationship that both desire around supportive others. It was nice to visit with characters from previous stories in this series.

Protective top with Alpha tendencies and a bottom with the fantasy of being an Omega. It's a match made in fortune cookies. Both have pasts they want to leave behind. But being related to figures running in political circles puts a spotlight at the skeletons in their closet. They find solace in one another and in Devon Falls. As a paranormal fantasy lover, their fantasy and how their role play it is pretty low key, which works perfectly for this sweet pair. With how the story ended, I know they'll still have a presence in the next coming book. I look forward to reading the next one as well.
