Post-second wizarding war, the students of Hermione's year of Hogwarts are returning to finish their magical education and take their NEWT examinations.

Hermione is a newly registered Animagus, taking the form of a rather fluffy, brown cat.

Draco Malfoy, forced to return in penance for his actions, is bullied and discarded by the wizarding community for the actions he and his family had taken during the war.

The only solace he manages to find within the walls of the school... is a small, brown cat, who takes up a guardian-type status over him, becoming his only source of comfort, unaware of the cats true identity.

Let the chips fall where they may.

I don’t usually love 8th year fics but this was sweet and much more realistic in terms of their characters, state of mind and reactions. Surprised how much I enjoyed that most of HGs friends, including Ron, actually acted like her friends and HG herself was actually competent and likeable. The angst was a bit OTT and silly but nothing is perfect, I suppose.

This was a cute one. I kinda like a Draco that's depressed and self deprecating over one that lashes out, especially at Hermione. It's a refreshing take on his character and makes him more redeemable. Also the whole time turner part was really well done and it wasn't predictable at least to me (I did try).

I enjoyed this Dramione fanfic. While I'm not usually a fan of 8th year fic, I thought that this was beautifully crafted. This would be a 5⭐ fic for me, but the last few chapters lost the pacing a bit and dragged a bit.
