I’ve been an avid reader for years. To my husband’s dismay, I have bookshelves full of books, rooms full of books, boxes full of books. My cars have books in them. I just can’t seem to get rid of them after I read them. You just never know when you will want to read it again, right?

About two years ago, my husband gave me the dream gift, a Kindle. It was love at first sight and my first foray into the world of ebooks. To say the least, I am a technologically challenged person but when a reader, such as I, is told that you can have the book you want to read in seconds, I’m going to do whatever it takes to learn how to use it as quickly as possible.

While I still have books everywhere, I no longer take ten or twelve books with me when I go on vacation. The only thing I need is my Kindle. It never leaves my purse.

My genre of choice is romance with a paranormal twist. My authors of choice are Diana Palmer, Iris Johansen, Catherine Coulter, Jill Gregory and of course, the queen, Nora Roberts. I am also very partial to Michael Connelly, who is not a romance author but damn that man can write!

In my life prior to becoming an author, I was a Legal Assistant/Office Manager for a wonderful local estate planning attorney (no criminals that I know of). Prior to that, I also worked my way up the ladder in a large corporation, from payroll clerk to supervising nine employees in operational accounting.

When my children, Shandelle and Pilar, were small, I took a few years off to be a full-time mom and help my husband with his accounting work for his auto repair shop.

After, Michael, my husband, sold his business, he changed professions and started working for a national construction company.

Michael and I raised two beautiful, strong women so that’s who I write about. The women in my books are strong individuals that have moments of weakness and frailty to work through.

This is the sequel to WHEN ONE DOOR CLOSES . This is Clay and Nancy's story. All the characters are back from the first book and centers around Clay and Nancy. Clay is a rock star that could have his choice of women and has bedded his share of them. But lately he has been feeling empty and when he takes a break from touring he goes to hang with his brother Bruce and his best friend Lily. Where he sees Nancy, Lily's friend and assistant. She is what his heart is looking for , but as usual he fights it and she resists his usual bad boy charms , Everyone in this book is falling in love , oh even Barney. Now if you remember from the first book, you will remember Barney. The big lovable dog that helps all of them. He even falls in love with a bird of all things. It is the cutest thing . Yes I have a thing for Barney . I want him in my life.

But as with all falling in love stories there is always the one thing that might tear those lovers apart. That is Max, Lily's ex husband, who just will not go away. He has blown through all his settlement from Lily, and he wants more. To help fuel his drug habit , he will do anything to get at Lily. Will not say anymore about what will happen there cause it will be a spoiler for you . But I will say Barney is a hero.

Ms Wolters is such a talented writer. She takes us on a great ride that will have you crying and laughing and cheering when you read. This was such a great sequel. I fell in love with all the characters and love every second of the book. Especially the LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE wedding of Martha and Sam. I will say the end of the book will have you crying tears of joy. I know I balled like a baby. Oh yeah Sandy mixes in a little paranormal into this story. Which in my humble opinion worked so wonderfully with the whole story line.

This is a fast paced wonderful read that takes you on a joy ride. It is full of love, a family values and a good dose of laughter. Especially with Barney and Thelma Lou who could not fall in love with those two. They steal the show some of the time. Again Sandy has outdone herself , I want to know where she will take us next. So if you want a great set of books to read this holiday season check out

both books WHEN ONE DOOR CLOSES and the sequel ANOTHER DOOR OPENS . I will say this for a fact that you will not be disappointed

AND NOW FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT. MEET BARNEY AND THELMA LOU

"A Magnificent Story"

This story is a sequel to "When One Door Closes" and features many of the characters in that novel. Clayton Silk is a well known rock star who wants to take a break and evaluate his life. His brother Bruce is engaged now to famous singer, Lilly Cabrera, and Clayton feels he's missing something important in his 'star-spangled' life. Most women can't resist his charms...except one: Nancy Bradford. She is 23 years old, and the past five years has has been taking care of her invalid mom, now deceased. She misses her mom tremendously, wishing she could hold her in her arms once again. But she now realizes she has to get on with her life and her new goals as she moves to Flagstaff, Arizona. She'll be attending Northern Arizona University. She has a very understanding boss as she is working for Lilly as her personal assistant, living in their guest cottage for free. It's a wonderful family-like environment except for one person, Clayton Silk, whom she considers to be smug, too full of himself, and acts like a womanizer. Besides, he's never been interested in her as she considers herself as a plain Jane. But the evening after her visit to her mom's grave, it is Clay who gives her warmth and understanding of her loss. This is a fun story to read as it has moments of unforgettable humor, paranormal events, a massive dog named Barney who saves an injured small bird, romance, and a dominating housekeeper who's planning her marriage with the theme of "Little House on the Prairie." But it's not just fun and games as soon Max, Lilly's soon to be ex-husband is missing. He's been out of control, heavy into drugs, for several months and Lilly's attorney is fearful he's on the hunt to seek revenge. Author Sandy Wolters knows how to please, entertain, and surprise her readers. Her excellent writing style quickens the reading pace and, as most of her books, are hard to put down. Her stories are full of love and family values. And I have to say, Clayton Silk, is extremely sexy! He and Nancy make the perfect pair, with what you might say, with some imperfect moments. Read this story, you'll love it!

After reading When One Door Closes (the first in the Rock Star Duet) I was a little hesitant about reading Clay's story.
I'm not big on rockstar's because I don't want to read constantly about the sleeping around. But these stories are actually really tame compared to the couple rockstar romances I have read.

Clay aka Silk as the public knows him by has never had any issues picking up a girl and spending some time with them. As a member of one of the popular bands he doesn't have a shortage of women. However, when it comes to Nancy he can't ever find the right words. She's all he seems to think about and it angers him.

Nancy Bradford has finally found her place after being adrift for months after her mother died. Now she's just working to make her dream come true. However, Clay Silk makes her new found peace impossible. He does nothing but insult her and make her feel shame for how she lived and survived, but yet she can't stop thinking of him.

Can these two settle on common ground and express their feelings for each other? Or will Nancy be taken from Clay before he can express his love for her?

My only complaint on this, I wish we would've gotten an epilogue to let us get a glimpse of how Nancy deals with Clay going on tour. Or does he do like Lilly and give up and only do special performances?
