Short and sweet, but full of good tips. I read this book to support social life and being more engaging since I work remotely and am more introverted. With the rise of AI, Chat gpt, and social media I feel we are making intelligent leaps forward, while moving backward with real world interactions. Given than life is so short, I strive to have more meaningful and deeper conversations. This book had some good tips for building rapport and also good manners for not offending others along the way. I love the tips on how to be a great storyteller, appealing to traits and ideals people have assigned to themselves, and being a great storyteller. It gave some examples of people trying to appear as the most intelligent through always correcting others mistakes in conversations, and it having a negative impact. Overall, worthwhile read and it compelled me to read more of Patrick King’s books.
For the price, this was a good summary of how to be more charismatic. Most of it is common sense or advice we all already heard before, but need to be reminded of. The author gives helpful examples, good explanations why a certain tactic works and contrary to many other authors in the genre, he didn't continually brag about all the friends he has the industry.
This book will help you improve your people skills. While many suggestions are common sense, it's great to be reminded of exactly what works and what doesn't. There are also some specific things you can try at home that might surprise even the most skilled charismatic.
It was pretty decent for a “self help” like book. Author kept it fairly concise and used fun and quirky examples. My grand father made me read it and I did learn a bit! Good for driving and listening on Audible.
Great book for all areas of life and self awareness!
I definitely will be recommending this book and utilizing the principles. Worth reading several times and really putting ideals into action. Possibilities are endless!
I purchased the Kindle edition and felt more like a booklet than an actual book. It was a quick read. It was okay. Not much substance, the author Patrick King gives 20 principles for being more likable and drawing others to you. There are better and deeper books on the market.
Patrick lays out some great principles, illustrated by good examples, to develop better interpersonal skills. Application is key, but the tools are there!
Was not too long and got it's point across. This isn't a book that goes into deep explanation of small talk and the science behind how thing work. I believe this is a good book if you just want to tap the surface of small talk.
