I must admit I found the novel ‘unobjectionable’ as Jane Austen would say and pleasant reading. The writing was competent, the characters attractive, the plot, although clichéd, well handled, and, while passionate, the sex was kept within the bounds of taste and propriety.
I first read this book when it was originally published back in 1998. It introduced me to romances set during the Regency period and I have been a fan of them ever since. Over the years I have revisited this book many times and the romance of Rosalyn and Michael still reasonates with me.
