Past into Present: A sapphic time travel suspense

Rate this book
Jamie Larson left her high-paying, fast-paced security job in Chicago after the woman she was supposed to be protecting was killed. She accepted the job of sheriff in the small, rural town of Courtland, Vermont to get as far away as possible. But no matter how far away she moves, she can’t stop thinking about her failure. As she begins to investigate the murder, she uncovers troubling truths.
In 1949, Andrea Clarke just lost her job at the car factory after a police raid on the underground girl’s bar she was at with a woman she really liked. After that woman stopped returning her calls, she decided to get away to a remote cabin in Northern Vermont. She needs to figure out what she wants to do next in her life. When she wakes up on a dusty couch trapped in the basement, she knows something is very wrong.
Jamie doesn’t believe Andrea’s far-fetched tale about being from the past but she knows she needs to get the woman some help. As the two women get closer to the truth in each of their investigations, they grow closer to one another. But can Jamie learn to trust and love again? Will Andrea try to get back to her own time where she has no life or stay and try to break down the walls surrounding Jamie’s heart?

Jen is an author of sapphic romance novels, most with a touch of supernatural and all with spice. As a huge animal lover, pets will always play a role in all of her stories. Her day job, which she loves, even revolves around pets. Her other passion is photography, mostly nature but also anything old, abandoned, and spooky. After growing up, graduating from UCONN, and spending most of her life in Connecticut, she and her wife picked up and moved to Illinois to be closer to family. When she's not writing or shooting photography, Jen loves hiking, biking, reading, relaxing, and spending time with her wife and furry children.

Past Into Present is an unforgettable blend of sapphic romance, time travel, and thriller-level tension.
This story gripped me from the start. The suspense is sharp and constant....there’s a quiet sense of danger humming beneath every interaction, every unanswered question. Nothing feels safe, not even time itself.
What makes it truly exceptional is how the thriller elements and the emotional depth are inseparable. Jamie and Andrea aren’t just navigating a mystery....they’re risking belief, trust, and love in a world where one wrong choice could cost everything. Their connection unfolds slowly, tenderly, and with real stakes.
This book understands that love doesn’t erase fear.....it asks you to face it. And that kind of storytelling stays with you.
If you love sapphic stories that are intelligent, intense, and emotionally grounded....this one is something special.
You know it's something special when you skip a spicy scene to get to the main story. I really love a great story teller. ❤️

I absolutely loved this book and basically devoured it! Usually I'm not a fast reader when it comes to ebooks but I couldn't put this one down, it had me gripped from the first page. The entire plot was so fascinating and thrilling, you just need to know what's going on next! I also loved Jamie and Andrea together, my favourite parts were when Jamie explained to Andrea all the modern day things she didn't know, it was very sweet.
