One Direction/Radio 1 AU
Nick Grimshaw/Louis Tomlinson
Nick's never been the kind of boy to have a long-term boyfriend. There's always been other stuff that's been more interesting, stuff that's held his attention more than the boys in his bed. It's different with Louis.

Or: Louis and Nick come out: featuring flashbacks, goats, a determined Harry Styles and one very wet experience on the log flume.

I've been liking every Tomlinshaw fic I've read so far but somehow this one didn't quite hit the mark for me. Which is a shame because it features Harry amusingly setting his friends Nick and Louis up on dates where they conveniently have to put up with each other's company in the hopes that the two will come to realize how well suited for each other they are, and bunnies.

I think this could have had a higher emotional impact, especially concerning the topic of "coming out" and revealing one's sexuality to the world, but besides having a cute ending, and of course bunnies, I don't think the story reached the level its potential allowed for.

Favorite quote:
In love. "In love?" Nick asks, quite carefully, even though inside he's trembling.
"Yeah," Louis says softly. "I'm in love."
When Louis smiles, it's like the sun coming out from behind the clouds.
Other good quotes:
He's not entirely sure why he agreed to this dinner in the first place, since he's fairly convinced that Louis Tomlinson is the actual spawn of the devil, and even worse than that, dislikes Nick. Nick isn't very good at dealing with people who dislike him. It's a thing. He rather likes being liked.

"Nice penis."
"Thank you," Nick says. "I grew it myself."

Notes:
-some typos
-even if the word goat in the tags puts you off, just know that the bunnies matter more and the goat, while being briefly mentioned, serves an amusing purpose
-no penetrative sex, only intercrural and a bit of oral
-this may have been a bit of a miss for me but I'm still very much looking forward to reading more from this author, particularly I Had Rather Hear My Dog Bark At A Crow which I've been forcing myself to hold off on starting for reasons tbh idek what those reasons are, I just get distracted easily
-part of it missing the mark for me has to do with how the story continuously goes back and forth between the present, when Louis and Nick are deciding how they will deal with Louis' coming out to the world and the impacts due to his boyband status as well as their coming out as a couple, and the past, when Harry was still valiantly working to get the two together; sometimes the past and present changes can work for me, but most of that time I just feel put off by it, so while I think it worked for the story it just didn't work for me
-bunnies are cute
-I totally ship Tomlinshaw and I need more
