I was truly enjoying this series, right until the end. The series has a follow on series which really didn't need to be another mini-series as it follows straight on. So, Fate of the Alpha continues with another troupe of books, and to get a final all rounder you need to move on to that.
So, what's got up my nose and lost my interest is it's going to soap opera on with a bloody love triangle and an about face.

Oh save me from author's who fail to think of something original to drive you onto the next book.

Curse of the Alpha: The Complete Bundle by Tasha Black
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Romance
3 Stars

📚🎵 I started reading this in May of 2017. I was having trouble with it so I put it away.

📕Curse of the Alpha: Episodes 1 & 2
3 Stars

My problem is with the main character Ainsley. Her inability to come to terms with herself after all the years from her 'incident' and being raised by her parents, who were the Alpha's of her pack, etc. makes her seem weak mentally and emotionally. Her refusal to deal with ANY of her realities makes me want to reach out and smack her.

Since I started reading it again in 2018, from where I left off, I have enjoyed it more. I still have a problem with the main character, but I am getting into the story more. It definitely moves quickly.

📕Curse of the Alpha: Episodes 3 & 4
3 Stars

While episodes 3 & 4 were somewhat better than 1 & 2, I still have a few problems with it.

1. Sometimes the descriptions get a bit long winded.
2. Really over the repetitiveness of her fathers books.
3. A couple of errors.
4. The Heroine.

"Ainsley was feeling out of control. It was an unfamiliar feeling and not one that she liked."

I don't know how this could be an 'unfamiliar' feeling. Ainsley seems to always be out of control, confused and flat out weird.
She is so out of touch with herself it is beyond annoying. She refuses to even try to get to know anything about herself.
Talk about being in denial, this girl takes the cake, ate it, threw it up and flushed it!
She rants and raves.
Lies about the most ridiculous things.
Then sticks her head in the sand and hopes no one kicks her in the ass.

📕Curse of the Alpha: Episodes 5 & 6
3 Stars

I enjoyed episodes 5 & 6 much more than the previous episodes.
There was a lot more action and things happened much quicker.

Without all the ridiculous mental & emotional angst Ainsley seemed determined to create for herself by putting her head in the sand, she finally started learning things and became a more interesting character.

📚🎶 I didn't love this series and it will be awhile before I consider continuing with " Fate of the Alpha " and " Heir to the Alpha".
I know her writing improved by leaps and bounds very quickly as proved by her 300 Moons (published in 2016) & Building a Hero series (published in 2015). I have read the 1st 3 books of 300 Moons series and 'Reconstructed', the 1st book in her Building a Hero series .
Both of which I love and will follow diligently.

I did like this series. It just hasn't wowed me and I am glad it is not the first books I read of this author.

Not bad as a whole book read immediately one after the other. I certainly would have been incredibly frustrated and unsatisfied had I read them all separately.

EPISODE 1:
Ainsley that girl is stubborn, "well, I appreciate the insight but I'm not going to be choosing a mate. I'm sure you guys can vote or something. Can we take care of the paperwork for the hardware store?" There is obviously chemistry between Ainsley and Erik, "a tiny moan escaped her lips and he growled softly in return, his dark eyes flashing a spectacular amber. His wolf must be close to the surface. She could feel her own." I was team Erik right when we met the boy, I can't wait to see how this series pans out.
EPISODE 2:
I was totally with Erik and did I mention how hot he is jealous, "you have on responsibility - to mate with a male from the pack. That's IT. The whole town is full of good men, men who care about you. And you choose to eff around with a goddamned human?" In this installment Ainsley really started to pi** me off, like seriously just give in to Erik it's obvious he wants you and what do you do lie about a question he asks and then you can't stop thinking about him while screwing around with an idiot human! "Erik. All roads let to him. Ainsley was going to be face to face with him in just an hour. Though she knew it did no good to befriend him if she wasn't going to stick around and be his mate...." I'm praying the next installments secure Erik and Ainsley in some sweaty hot sheets.
EPISODE 3:
The one thing about Eric that we must remember is he will always have a hard-on for Ainsley even though she's kinda too stupid to see it right now, and he's caring, "he ripped the quilt off the bed and lowered her gently to the sheet. "I'll buy you new sheets. Just lie down and try not to move." (This is a non-sexual thing FYI) I was really starting to get annoyed with this Cressida b**** like seriously who the heck did she think she was? "she's not choosing anything. In case you didn't notice, she's emptying the house and getting the hell out of dodge!" Erik lifted Cressida off his lap and unceremoniously deposited her back on the sofa." That was a good boy Erik I would have cut your nuts off if you had done anything else."
EPISODE 4:
This time around it was Erik's nuts I wanted to so badly cut off and seriously who the hell does this Cressida b**** think she is!?!?! "He wanted to eff me so back his c*** was the size of my arm before I even touched him," she whispered in AInsley's ear. Ainsley's breath caught she could smell Erik on Cressida." You did a no-no in my book Erik you are seriously in the dog house, and if I have to push your wolfy-a** there I will. Clive he came across as a good guy and after I put Erik in the doghouse I kinda was routing for Clive, "Clive, I don't have much in the house..." That's fine was can just eff. But I wish I'd eaten before I came over. "...but I do have a couple of rib eyes from the Co-op that I can cook, and a salad. Does that sound okay?" Oh Ainsley that's like asking a monkey if he wants a banana. It was a lot to digest in this book but I enjoyed it.
EPISODE 5:
Okay so slowly and I mean so ever so damn slowly Cressida is growing on me, "you heard what I said. It's not right for the whole town to pay the price while the two of your pu**yfoot around. Just eff him. While you still can. He's a fantastic lay - you won't regret it." I mentioned the ever so slowly part right? Erik is also slowly being a good boy and is getting himself out of the bad boy dog house with his thoughtfulness, "I'll get you some clothes in town tonight," he offered gruffly." Mmhmm that boy is wishing she be running around naked 24/7 let's not lie to ourselves. Now our boy really got out of the doghouse when he didn't make a fuss by how much our girl ate or how fast she ate it that is a man right there ladies, "suddenly Ainsley was embarrassed about how quickly she had wolfed down her lunch. She looked down at her hands. "I like a woman who doesn't pick at her food." So some of the issues were resolved I'm hoping they will all be resolved in the next installment.
EPISODE 6:

**********************MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*********************************

The issues were resolved but the author did a very, very naughty thing she left us with a cliffhanger I was cursing her out, called her the 'B' word a few times (she knows this I messaged her she thought it was funny). The cliffhanger wasn't about Erik and Ainsley they surprisingly like to have lots of sex...well... that's not surprising at all but you get my drift. Erik may not have an embarrassing bone in his body when he's completely naked our girl on the other hand is a little shy, "He turned back to her with a smile, looking her up and down. It hit her, that she was completely naked in the bright light of Erik's sunny kitchen" When Erik and Ainsley are doing the naughty you just don't burst into their house like your a** is on fire and interrupt them, "then you can teach me. But you will never burst into this house, or any house I'm in, without knocking again. Do you understand?" He's a very generous lover, "slow, baby, slow," he whispered, "I'll take care of you, don't worry." Overall this is a good series I mean once the characters got their head's out of their a**es.

I love all the paranormal twists & turns. Ainsley has only come back to Tarker's Hollow to clear out her parent's house & sell it. She just wants to get it done & get the hell out of dodge! She left right after high school never to return after her boyfriend was killed, mauled by a bear or so it was said. She blacked out. But something strange had started to happen when she was with him that day. When she woke up in her room her parents had told her about being a wolf. She had started to shift, they said probably to defend him. She was afraid she had killed him. She went to New York & has never shifted again. It is like torture, every full moon she goes to a crummy little hotel that no one asks questions if they hear noises coming from your room. Now that she is back in town, she is finding out that the wolf community is very large. It seems her dad was the Alpha. She is expected to take a mate & become the leader. Ok, fine, she'll pick someone & dump this on them & get out of here. When she makes the suggestion to Mr. Macgregor, who now owns her parent's old hardware shop, he tells her it doesn't work that way. She is still trying to figure out how to get out of this when she is told her dad had thought Erik Jenson would be a good alpha. But since she hasn't chosen one yet every male around will be looking at her. She meets a human man, Julian, who had worked with her father & likes him. She comes home from his place to find her door open, Erik is inside. It seems that her father's books are all over the place & the library has been tossed. The next day she goes to clean out her Father's office at the college. It is an even bigger mess in there. They are together a few days, until she wakes up in the middle of the night to find him in her father's Library doing some sort of spell. It looks like a compass, it points at her. She decides to shift, he does something that stops her, she manages to reflect it back at him & throws him out through the window. The Sheriff, Clive Warren who is also a wolf had been trying to get in touch with her sees himself as Alpha. She is getting pressured from all sides to stay here & take her place as Alpha. She tells her best friend, Grace about the spell Julian had been doing & what she had done. Grace Has magic, her grandmother as well, they decide to have Ainsley come over for dinner & figure out what was going on. Later they go for a walk down to her house to see if she can just talk to her parents. They try to connect but say it is blocked. They decide to open a portal. They felt something but nothing that was helpful. She also learns her mother was a witch as well. After they leave, she is going to sleep & sees Brian her high school boyfriend. He tells her she had never hurt him. Before she can ask him to be more specific he is gone. The next day she tells Grace she needs to talk to her. Grace comes by. Ainsley tells her about seeing Brian & that she thought she killed him, that is why she left & never wanted to be a wolf. Grace tells her she will check the files & see what she can find out. Ainsley a date with Clive tonight. If she can make him Alpha she is getting out of here! She has people coming in all over to take what they want out of the house before it goes in the trash. When Clive gets there she has no furniture to sit on except the old picnic table out back. After the short dinner they have Clive is ready to get this done & become Alpha. She was sure she could do this, now she's not so sure. When she is about to get into bed with him she sees Brian again. He tells her this is a bad mistake. She tries to point out Clive takes care of the people. He can't see Brian & doesn't know what's going on. Brian then tells her Clive was the one who killed him. She asks him & he admits it. She tells him to get out. He's done waiting, he makes a grab for her. He is going to be Alpha. She throws an old softball trophy at him, he was going to shift but she says a spell that zaps him with blue light shot out of her fingers. It stops him from shifting & she escapes with only a ripped dress. She runs out into the forest to where Erik & Ainsley had built their treehouse when they were younger. He was coming to get her when he found her under their tree. Clive has shifted & is tracking her with 2 other wolves. Erik is going to shift to fight, she tells him they need to hide. They run to their old cave where they fine their old supply kit. Their is a blanket in it that is undamaged in it's package. They open it to wrap around them to warm up. She somehow closes the cave with vines so that the wolves don't find them when they are circling. Erik tells her to shift & she tells him she doesn't know how. He can't believe it, he asks her how she hasn't done it. She tells him it has been awful. He tells her she will have to ride him. She climbs on. They run for his house. It is right next to here. They need to clean up & get some sleep. They wake up & Erik tells her he has wolves on patrol so Clive can't get to her. He has to go to work. He also tells her after what Clive did last night, he is beginning to think that her parents car accident might not have been an accident. She calls Grace to talk to her. She comes by to tell her what she found in the file on Brian & that Clive is making all kinds of trouble for Erik with permits in town. Ainsley tells her about what happened last night. They had walked to her house to find it egged & the inside spray painted with graffiti on the walls. He dad's books & her things have all been stolen. It is a mess. Grace tells her that the report had been filed by Clive's dad, there is almost nothing there. Grace calls to Brian to ask him to show Ainsley what really happened. He takes her back to see Clive sneaking up on them. They are kissing next to a tree. Clive changes, knocking her against the tree, that knocks her out. Then he kills Brian. Erik comes home after such a hard day trying to keep his business going with Clive all over everything. He finds the woodwork polished & the ceiling painted. He can smell something good cooking. When she gets worried she finds cleaning the best way to work it out. She tells him about what she found out about Brian & why she left. She told him, she thought that Clive wanted to be Alpha even then. Now that she knows she didn't Kill him Erik is going to show her how to be a wolf. After they eat, they go out into the meadow to change. He tells her how to fell for the wolf & bring her forward. They shift & she learns about how to flow with all her sense getting overbearing. He shows her how to adjust into herself. When they shift back she chooses him as her Alpha. He asks if she is sure, it is for life. There is a light around her to let him know she is sure. when they are done rolling around in the pine needles, it seems he didn't get to be Alpha, she is. They get back to the house to figure it out. They know Clive is probably going to challenge her as Alpha. She will have to learn how to fight. Clive is a little upset he was expecting more than 2 kids & this guy with his 2 yr old to support him when he challenged Ainsley for Alpha. Erik & Cressida are in the meadow trying to help Ainsley hone up on her fighting skills, explaining that she needs to use Clive's size & temper against him. She is feeling pretty low after they both have beaten her many times. The challenge is sent to her, & she accepts. Grace is sent on a wild goose chase by Clive to keep her out of the way. When she finds out about the false alarm she heads to where she had seen many people heading earlier, following a hunch. Clive & Ainsley shift & they play a stealthy cat & mouse game wearing each other down, until Clive manages to get the upper hand & pins her. He has broken a few of her ribs & torn a piece of her shoulder. The pain weakens her into her human form. He leaves her to turn to the crowd. She sees Brian & her parents, sorry she failed them. She sees what Clive did to cause the accident & finish it with gas. It gives her the strength to get up & zap him with the blue light. He says she is not fighting fair. She asks if killing Brian was fighting fair, or running her parents off the road, then burning their car with gas was fighting fair? She zaps his several more times. She tells him he is banished & if he returns, will be torn apart. He gets in his truck & decides to shoot her mate. He loads the gun with a silver bullet. When he cocks it she hears it. She sees him pointing it at Erik, & shoves him out of the way. She sees Clive get shot 3 times in the chest by Grace. Grace runs over to them, she sees Ainsley is still bleeding & says it must be a silver bullet. She asks for Erik's knife to get it out. She has him get his needle nose pliers & to hold her down in case she wakes up. It takes a little bit but she gets it out. When Ainsley wakes up she is sleeping in Erik's arms. Cressida stops in to fix them breakfast. Grace calls her to tell her she needs to come see her house. She is almost scared but what more could be done to it? She tells her she'll be right there. They meet Grace at her house & it is cleaned, the window is fixed. They go inside, the graffiti has been cleaned off, all her furniture is back. Everything is back the way it was. Erik tells her she has been accepted & is supported. Grace tells her that the whole community had been working on it all night. Julian shows up & explains what he had been doing when she threw him through the window. There was a book of dark magic her father had found that could be used against wolves. They had been trying to figure it out to be ready for things like this. He had been looking for it, that night. She showed him where she had been standing. it was in front of a trunk she had brought down from the attic. It was in there, wrapped in wolf skin. Cressida asked if they should just burn it & Julian tells her they were trying to learn defenses against them, so they needed to study them a little more. He thinks whoever Clive had been working with wanted it too. I am sure ready for the next one!

Lucky me got to read the whole entire six episode series. I think that not reading all of the episodes, the reader misses the story and what happens to the characters. For me, I can’t stand not knowing what’s happening to the characters that I’ve emotionally invested in. I need to have a beginning a middle and an end. I would love a happy ending, but sometimes that doesn’t happen.

I’m happy to say, that there is another installment to this story and will be a continuation of where the author left off. I can’t really say what happens as I don’t want to ruin anything for anybody. I will say that I’m excited to read more from this author, more of this series, this world of shifters and this particular story.

This book is Ainsley’s story. It’s about her transformation from being a New Yorker to living in Tarker’s Hallow again. It’s her accepting her wolf and all the facets of who she is. Ainsley has denied who and what she is for a long time. She’s her own worst enemy and she gets in her own way most of the time.

At first I didn’t like Ainsley. I thought she was a snob and was too judgmental of anyone that wasn’t like herself. I wanted her to accept who she was and so it was frustrating to read what she was doing to get in her own way.

What I do like about Ainsley is that she learns quickly and realizes what she needs to do to help her fellow townspeople. She learns to listen to what her instincts are telling her to do and she makes some incredible transformations and redeems herself in mine eyes. I love it when that happens.

There are some secondary characters that are worth mentioning. We have Eric, Julian, Grace, Clive and Cressida. These characters are important because they help move the story along. They each help her realize her place in Tarker’s Hallow. All of these characters play a vital role in helping to tell Ainsely’s story. It’s hard to explain how they play their parts, as I could give away the plot, and that wouldn’t be fun, but lets just say that they are needed, wanted and necessary.

I can’t wait to find out what else happens in Tarker’s Hallow.

Truth be told

Truth be told, I am hooked. This bundle of Curse of the Alpha:The Complete Bundle (Episodes 1-6). Seeing everything I read is simply AMAZING!!!!! I couldn't put the bundle down, I read it throughout the night. I barely slept but it was well worth it. This bundle has you twisting and turning every corner with them. Finally after gripping the sheets so tight and waking my husband, the truth emerged and behold, the end was there and I need to buy the following bundle. If you haven't read this bundle then I suggest that you buy it and find a quiet corner away from everyone. Then READ! Read until your eyes are watering and bleary. Until you cannot read anymore. Then close your eyes for a bit and start reading again. It is that GOOD, and MORE!!!!! In all the books I have read this one stands out above the rest. The suspense, the romance, the friendships, it all comes together and forms an amazing story. Pick up this book series, you won't be sorry. ENJOY!!!!!

It's an interesting story about a girl that doesn't want to accept her heritance and be part of a wolves pack although that's what she really is. She needs to understand herself and what it means to complete an important task that involves her hometown and people he loves.

I read the series in no time but at the end I wasn't very happy with the developent of the characters and the main story.

SPOILER:

For me, personally, this kind of twist of the main character having sex with other guy and girl besides having feelings for her right mate, isn't my cup of tea. I prefer stories with just one love interest and being faithful to him/her. If that is going to happen because is necessary for the story development I'd rather not to have the details. I actually skipped those paragraphs.

It was upsetting that she had sex with another girl, then with guys and ended up living with her mate and the girl she had sex like it was the most normal thing in the world. It's totally okay but just not for me.

I enjoyed this series and hope to read the next one to see what happens with the spell book. I don't want to ruin the story for you, so I will grrr not to say too much.

Ainsley left Tarker's Hollow many years ago and didn't plan on returning. It seems her boyfriend was killed and she thinks she did it by shifting into wolf form. She didn't even know site was a wolf shifter until her parents told her afterwards. When they are killed in an accident she has to come back to town to sell her childhood home and tie up loose ends. She is so not ready for the drama her presence causes. It seems her father was the pack Alpha and now she is the only one who can bring out the next Alpha. Unfortunately, this means she has to mate the male in question. No, thank you. She just wants to compete her business and get out of town. Then strange things start happening and she realizes it isn't going to be that easy.

This series was gifted to me by a friend and what a read this was! I was not able to put it down for the life of me! The characters were yummy, to say the least. The action was non stop, and don't get me started on the sex scenes! I absolutely loved the format as I think more books should be written this way. So many times I was fooled by the author. When I thought I had all the answers, she just swept the rug under my feet. And the cliffhangers, wow, those were epic. More than once I groaned loudly when I really got into one and realized that the chapter was finishing. Good thing I had the whole series or else there would have been a a catastrophe somewhere lol. Great stories by Tasha Black and I strongly recommend them to all who love shifters, yummy characters, awesome story telling and incredible cliffhangers.

Cutse Of The Alpha #1-6 10/10/2022

Ainsley has come back to Tucker’s Hallow to clean out her parents home for they where killed in a car accident. But everyone keeps telling her she has to pick a mate so she can pick a Alpha. But she doesn’t want to stay or have anything to do with her wolf. Not after the first time she almost shifted and she thought she killed a guy she liked. But she finds out she didn’t kill him in a weird and unusual way. And she not going to stick around to pick that Alpha. But there is Erik the guy that her parents would like her to chose to be her mate. Then there is Clive the sheriff that wants her so he can be Alpha. Ainsley thinks he might be easier to leave. Well a lot will happen and change things for them. So enjoy and see what happens to them!!

Awesome set!

Great read! Well written with an intriguing storyline. You can read 1 of the books at a time but it will leave you hanging, so be prepared to read all at once! Join Ainsley while she figures out what in the heck is going on and what she really wants to do. There’s the incident that made her dislike wolves, 3 males who want her(but why? Who’s good, bad or evil?), who keeps breaking into her house (messing with the books?) and (the best part!) the drawing of the Alpha! She can make anyone the next Alpha of Harpers Tallow but there’s a catch. There’s a lot going on in town and she only planned to stay a little while. Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed! Has its own HEA but leaves you wanting more.

I liked the story line of this series and the love interest (Erik). I did not, however, like the very descriptive sex scenes and the girl on girl encounter. I also didn't like how a few male characters said "Good Girl" when she followed instructions especially in the sex scenes. I'm sure that there are people out there that love this sort of stuff but I'm not one of them. I was hoping for something more along the lines of Aimee Easterling series (no sex) but that isn't what I got. I believe this author was suggested on Amazon for me because I've read all of Aimee's books.

Curse of the Alpha is the start of a wonderful series (I caught 4 books later in the series; each are standalone books but in order -- WOW!). This first book is about Ainsley, a shifter in denial, returning home to clear a family home and dodge friendly (or not so friendly) expectations. There is romance, relationship issues, pack expectations and sinister doings. Page turner, beloved characters, and rich detail. Bravo! Looking forward to the upcoming books in the series!

I received a free copy of this book via BookFunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Return of the prodigal daughter.

Raised as if she were human even though her father was alpha of the pack. Not knowing anything about her heritage, her first experience with loving a boy ends up with the boy dead and her passed out not knowing what happened. No one said anything to her so she runs off and suppresses her wolf and never returned home until her parents died in a fiery car crash. Now she has to take over the pack and make it work. Or the pack will fall apart.

Alpha

First time reading Tasha Black. I enjoyed the series. Over all it's a good read. It made you want to know what happened next even though a few lines were repeated where it was very noticeable and you just go on to get to the good part again. The Heroine is smart strong and determined to leave her home town until she realize she needs to stay to figure things out about the town or get revenge.

I read the complete series of the Alpha of Tarkers Hollow. I was so wrapped up in the storyline and its characters that it was hard to put book down! Tasha has a way of making the characters seem so real, the story line was believable that I wish I knew them all. Strong women, Hot men, and yes sex all make a great story. Will be reading all remaining books on Tarkers Hollow and for sure all remaining books written by Tasha Black.

Curse of the Alpha: The complete Bundle ( 1-6 )

A serious that totally blew me away. The characters all had chemistry that worked so well with each other. The story line was fantastic could not put it down. A real page turned of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat needing to know what will happen next.
A must read for anyone who wants to get lost in a fantastic great book 😊

Brilliant

The World of Tarkers Hollow. Curse of the Alpha, Episodes 1-6 by Tasha Black. Ainsley Connor returns to Tarkers Hollow to clear out her parents house after they died in a crash. What she finds in the place she grew up in opens her eyes in ways she couldn't believe. A brilliant piece of writing.

Sensual sassy female alpha

I choose the 4 stars because I found that a fast pace enjoyable book but would have been 5 if the sexual paragraphs weren't so explicit. Looking forward to the next part of the series xx

I liked the story

I enjoy reading Tasha Blacks work. Unfortunately, I am not a huge fan of serials. They drag on for longer than necessary and are incredibly over priced. I appreciated this bundled set. And I liked the stories within Tarkers Hallow

Wolf with Magic

The story was very entertaining. The characters were well developed. This book had intrigue, danger, and romance. I look forward to reading more about the wolves and witches.

Accepting your wolf

This series bundle was ok, but super slow moving. I read the entire thing but felt kind of bored throughout.
