Offering shocks, surprises, and galaxy-shaking revelations, seasoned TARDIS pilot Robbie Morrison (Drowntown, The Authority, 2000AD, Nikolai Dante) and New York Times-bestselling artist Dave Taylor (Batman: Death by Design; 2000AD) mark the start of their first five-issue run by diving headfirst into the console room and pulling all the levers they can – spinning the new Doctor off to his most challenging destination yet!

Freshly regenerated and with a new head full of unanswered questions, the Doctor (as played by Peter Capaldi) whisks Clara Oswald (as played by Jenna Coleman) away to a strange and distant world.

Clara thought she was in for an evening of marking essays on the Metaphysical Poets, followed by going out on a date – or at least trying to. You know, normal stuff.

Instead, she’s facing down exotic flora and fauna in her best dress, backing up the Doctor on a trek through traumatically alien undergrowth – and she doesn’t even know what the Doctor is searching for, or what will try to kill them should they find it!

New Face! New Doctor! New Beginning! Get in on the ground floor of this amazing ongoing series!

Ecco l'altra serie a fumetti in questione.

QUOTES: Robbie Morrison & Dave Taylor, “Terrorformer”
Doctor: “You humans have become a little too obsessed with your own image. … It's just packaging.”

Doctor: “Money, Clara! Obscene amounts of money. More money than sense … I hate money!”
Clara: “Explains why you never have any. Or at least why it takes you so long to get the coffee--”

Doctor: “The company you keep leaves much to be desired.”
Professor Spector: “Funding's hard to come by.”
Doctor: “So's integrity.”

Doctor: “If you're scared, find a sofa to hide behind. There's one around somewhere. It won't save you, but people seem to find it comforting.”

Doctor: “I like to think of myself as a pacifist, but sometimes peace is the thing you have to fight hardest for.”

The new and more gruff Doctor and Clara travel to Isen Vi to do some ski practice, but find the planet drastically changed. It looks like the planet is unstable and now the Doctor must investigate why that is. Can't wait to see what has caused such a violent disturbance in the space entrepreneur's terraforming project. This has a familiar feel like the episode of Kill the Moon. I wonder about this force acting upon the planet. Is it a friend, foe, alien, or machine? I have to wonder who it will be?

This comic book is the first issue in The New Adventures with the Twelfth Doctor. I thought I’d review this one as it’s the beginning of the new series.

My relationship with Doctor Who is a short and extremely adventurous one. I’ve been watching the New Generation since Tennant and started the Classics about two years ago. I’ve never looked back once. I also had the opportunity of meeting Sylvester McCoy. Amazing man.

This comic brings us to another adventure with The Doctor and his companion Clara Oswald. They are under the impression that they’re going to a planet filled with snow and step out of the TARDIS to find that things had changed since the last time The Doctor had heard of it.

This story is filled with so much action in what I assumed was 28 pages. I found it humorous and very intriguing. I thank the writer for that. He did an amazing job with putting so much of The Doctor’s personality on paper as well as Clara’s. Eleven was mentioned- and the fez and bow ties – and I found that great. After all, Eleven is my Doctor. The graphics were great. So much colour and the artwork – wow. I could stare at it all day.

Here’s to hoping I get the rest of Volume 1 soon because I can’t wait to continue this series. I might even pick up Nine, Ten and Eleven’s comic books.

“If you’re not happy in your own skin, you’ll never be happy. And I’ve had more skins than most people.”
