One of what I most find fascinating about human history, it's learning about how humans dealt with their mortality. We know now more about life and death than what we did years ago. Yet it's an integral part of the human to story to understand how life and death were dealt with. The Egyptian Book of The Dead is a truly fascinating text to read. As much as it presents the funerary rits thousands from Ancient Egypt, a collection of prayers and incantations related to life and death, and vision of the Ancient Egyptian cosmos with its pantheon of deities and their roles, it's an insight to how humans simply dealt with their own mortality.
