I can barely believe it, but I plowed through this book and loved (almost) every dang minute!
I don't really know what I was expecting from this book or from this author, she's new-to-me**, but my expectations were exceeded! I did have to force myself past the first chapter because I was firmly not feeling it. It felt like it was trying to come on a little strong and instead of finding it charming, I found it annoying. However, I did push myself through and the humor did improve, in my opinion. I actually loved the humor later, it was just that first chapter felt like a bit much.
Paige grew on me, but the boys instantly peaked my interest! I do wish we could've gotten MORE from them. More backstory especially, but I'm greedy in that way. I was also sad that a lot of discussion between the 3 guys happened off-page and it was just mentioned later on that the 3 discussed XYZ. I think being in one of the guys' POV and seeing those discussion played out would've added a lot to the story, but that's just me.
I did greatly appreciate that there was NO third act breakup. Wow, so few authors do that anymore and I'm so glad Maya Nicole chose not to do it here. There was enough internal angst to keep me reading.
Overall, this was light and fluffy for a reverse harem!
SPEAKING OF - A note I want to make clear is that this does not have MM content. I felt like a few reviews were a little vague and so I was confused about what I was getting into, but this is a classic reverse harem - MFMM. It's all about Paige during sexy times.
Now, in my personal opinion, this was the perfect set-up and story to add some MM into. It was RIGHT THERE and ready to be expanded on, but didn't. It would've totally flowed well in this story instead of feeling forced, which I can't say for every poly story that I read. However, not every poly story needs the MM content.. I just like it.
Main Characters: Paige, Ryker, Luca, and Garrett
** I said in my original review that this was a new to me author, but turns out, I'm 100% wrong! I've read this author before, but it was omegaverse, so I didn't connect it! So huh, turns out I'm a fan.
