Magic isn't just her power—it's her business plan.
Jo never expected renovating a rundown camp to be easy.
As a talented Witch Savant, she's determined to transform the dilapidated property into a revolutionary magic academy. Her unconventional funding source? A spectacular "illusions" train experience that delights unsuspecting humans while secretly utilizing her genuine magical abilities.
Between managing skeptical contractors, reinforcing magical wards, and dealing with a foul-mouthed raccoon that won't stop cursing in English, Jo's plate is overflowing.
The local townspeople are growing suspicious, railroad executives demand ever-more impressive performances, and whispers from her former coven threaten to unravel everything she's building.
Jo must master the delicate balance between revealing enough "magic" to fund her dream while keeping the true nature of her powers hidden.
Will Jo successfully establish the first independent witch academy in generations? Or will the powerful coven she escaped finally "take the gloves off" and crush her rebellious dream before it truly begins?

I love Joe and how independent she wants to be from a coven. I also like her illusion shows. I think that’s need that she uses those shows to help pay for the renovations to the property where she plans on starting her school. Unfortunately horrible rumors have been going around town about Joe and her property. The crew that has been working out on her property is starting to listen to the rumors and doesn’t wanna work out there anymore. Joe has also made some new friends that are helping her with her magic problems. I will definitely be reading the next book in this series.
I enjoyed the second book in this series. Jo is really coming into her own with her train shows and getting her Academy cleaned up and ready to go. The cast is expanding and the evil covens are trying harder to stop her dreams and her growing powers. I am so looking forward to more in the series, to learn more of the mysteries, and hopefully see some karma.
Lovely carry on from the previous book. The heroine grows more confident and the people surrounding her become more than friends. The enemy is getting more desperate and vile. Wonderfully detailed characters and tastefully presented emotions throughout the storylines allow you to immerse yourself.
I like the personality of Jo and the people that have come to her property to help. Rascal is a kick (a raccoon that cuses a blue streak) and I am wondering what that will grow into. Jo has her hands full dealing with other covers and some seem extremely evil.
This is an excellent series. Great characters with a well paced storytelling. There a nice balance of drama, humor, and a dash of romance. I'm looking forward to part 3...
