Rate this book
Zander never expected to find his fated mate, let alone be rejected by the broken omega.

Reid has been kidnapped, mated against his will, and forced to use his magic to help capture and imprison other omegas. Then, when his captor is killed, he's stuck grieving for a mate he hated with every part of his soul… and pregnant with his baby.

Bear shifter Zander has his hands full as town sheriff, but his world realigns when he scents his fated mate during a battle with their clan's enemies. Suddenly, all that matters is convincing one skittish warlock to trust him—something that seems impossible.

When demons from Reid's past come calling, Zander will do whatever it takes to protect his mate, even if the little warlock will never accept him as his alpha.

ARC review

This was so good. I love these kind of stories where one MC is broken and the other one just loves him and wants the best for him.
Reid had a horrible life, he deserved to have love and all good things that came his way. He was so resilient and wanted to have a good life, trust in others was hard for him but he was trying.
Zander was the sweetest, he didn't overwhelm his mate so he didn't everything he could to show him that not all alphas are the same.
They were the best couple, I loved them

Reid is a warlock omega who was mated against his will. Abused, and misused by his alpha only so they could use his magic. After his alpha was killed, he ended up at the Grizzly Ridge Pack. Reid is full of anxiety and fear, he has been treated badly his whole life.

Bear shifter Zander saw Reid and knew this was his mate. Sadly he can’t approach him, the omega is afraid and doesn’t want anything to do with him. What Zander smells and Reid doesn’t know yet; Reid is pregnant.

They have a long way to go! Above this, some forces want to take Reid away from his safe place, yes again for his magic!

It was a great story, with a bunch of hurt/comfort. You will find angst, amazing magic, a slow-burn romance, and a wonderful protective pack. Zander was a wonderful alpha with a lot of patience.
The characters were well developed, the plot was well thought out, and there were hints of other alphas recognizing their mates.

3.5 stars. Looks like the second book is still the one I like the most from the series. Some things worked out for me while others didn't but overall, I still had a good time and the premise was too interesting for me to let it pass.

I want to start with the things I wasn't a fan of and later end on a positive note. The description of the warlock's powers felt half-baked most of the time/too simplistic and the writting for a few scenes felt cheesy, such as the ones of their inner animal side and the inclusion of the word 'sassy'. I think the paranormal element was sort of weak and a better execution would've elevated the story and the stakes, especially during the action moments.

There's also one thing I wanted more of: the pregnancy thing. At times I totally forgot that the MC was pregnant, even during moments that would've made sense to be brought up but it barely did and I felt that it was only an important thing at the beginning and then at the very end. When I pick up mpreg books I really want more of the process to be described.

Besides that, I think the story was intriguing, it made me want to know how things would get worse and then better. While it falls onto cliches and the usual tropes from this subgenre, it was still enjoyable. I really like the storyline of a rescued MC that had an abusive past and later finds someone that is patient and gives them the care, time and space that they need. It never gets old for me.

Another thing I liked was how the book handled the fated mates tropes. As someone that isn't a fan of that, I prefer when things are taken slow and a connection is build up properly which is why I liked the second book. This one does something similar, and I was super into having the ML try to have the MC warm up to him. I really like that process of getting someone's trust and showing them that they're safe and protected. I wanted more pages before it lead to the confession, but ultimately I thought it was fine because I felt that this was the type of romance where love is show through actions and if it gets delivered through words then that's the cherry on top.

Now I'm looking forward to George having his own book, it seems promising and I gravitate a lot towards that type of characters. I'm also curious about the newly rescued omega. I like how the cast is expanding, they're all easy to remember and very lovely. I'll definitely keep an eye on this series.

I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.

I’m such a sucker for a broken MC who finally ends up with someone who loves him exactly as he is, and this book gave me that in the best way. Reid is the definition of shattered—hurt, used, traumatized, and barely hanging on—and Zander is the soft, protective Alpha who sees all of that and chooses him anyway. I was hooked.

Reid is an omega warlock who’s been through hell. Kidnapped, mated against his will, abused, forced to use his magic for horrible things… and now grieving the death of a mate he never wanted while carrying his child. His fear, anxiety, and trauma feel so real. He’s been treated badly his entire life, and watching him try to trust again broke me a little.

Zander, the bear shifter sheriff, scents Reid during a battle and immediately knows—this is his fated mate. But instead of rushing in, he waits. He’s patient, gentle, respectful of Reid’s boundaries even when it kills him. Meanwhile, he’s the only one who realizes Reid is pregnant, and the way he chooses to protect him without asking for anything back made me melt.

It’s a slow, careful road between them, and I loved that. No instant healing. No magical fix. Just steady hurt/comfort, small steps toward safety, and Zander proving over and over that Reid deserves love that doesn’t hurt.

There’s also external danger—forces trying to take Reid again for his magic—and the stakes stay high. But Grizzly Ridge Pack feels like a true found family, ready to rally around Reid when the past comes hunting him again. I loved that sense of belonging and protection.

This story has:
🐻 Bear shifter x warlock omega
🐻 Hurt/comfort for days
🐻 Major trauma healing
🐻 Pregnancy subplot
🐻 Fated mates with patience
🐻 Gentle alpha energy
🐻 Dark backstory + real danger
🐻 A pack that actually cares
🐻 Magic, enemies, and slow-burn trust

The characters were well-developed, the worldbuilding solid, and there are even hints at other mates being recognized—which I’m absolutely ready for.

Trigger Warnings: kidnapping, previous sexual assault, captivity, human trafficking, violence, trauma, and awful parents.

A great, emotional shifter romance with a lot of heart underneath the hurt. I really enjoyed it.

I didn't know what to expect when I read this book as I haven't finished the series yet and the topics of this story were hard and the love was a slow burn which I'm not too much of a fan of but with the topics and Reid's circumstances I totally understood and loved that this was a slow burn. Reid has been abducted, bonded against his will, and has been violated and controlled by a monster. But even when said monster is dead and Reid hated him a part of him grieves and is sad because of the mate bond whether it was forced or not. And then as one of the men who raided Reid's ex mate's ( I refuse to use that evil shifters name) land to rescue the captured omegas says that Reid is his mate. Reid has been through so much already he can't handle another person wanting to claim him especiallywhen he finds out he'scaring his abuser's child. As a warlock whose power was used with bad intentions and as he was not even able to learn or practice his magic he doesn't need a bear shifter keeping him in another situation he doesn't want to be in. He doesn't trust anyone even when Zander's pack takes him in and treats him well he's waiting for the other shoe to drop. No one one is nice and protective without wanting something in return, a lesson he's been taught time and time again even before he was taken. Even though Zander is having a hard time and just wants Reid close, as he never saw this as how him and his mate would meet, he's patient and so good to and with Reid. He puts his wants and needs first and respects Reid and his wishes even when it's hard. He earns his trust even though there are bumps along the way and they eventually start to be closer and Reid is able to trust in Zander and Zander is able to show Reid that not all Alphas are the same and that omegas should be cherished. They have such a hard fought HEA and I flew through their story. Their growth and relationship warmed my heart. No one deserves a beautiful life and love more than Reid and Zander.

Here's AJ Cane's "The Bear's Broken Omega." It's the third novel in the Grizzly Ridge series.

["Zander never expected to find his fated mate, let alone be rejected by the broken omega.

Reid has been kidnapped, mated against his will, and forced to use his magic to help capture and imprison other omegas. Then, when his captor is killed, he's stuck grieving for a mate he hated with every part of his soul… and pregnant with his baby.

I wasn't sure how this was going to go, having met Reid in the previous book and seeing his on-the-surface emotions. But underneath? There was sooo much more.

This book was a sloooow burn, which I usually don't love, but we were given lots of little nuggets of vulnerability and fluff so I felt decently sustained.

Plus all of the previews to future book and the future of this series!!?? We got easily two more couples--and a possible third. I'm sooo flipping excited for all of this!!

Trigger Warnings: mention of previous sexual assault, being held captive, human trafficking, violence, horrible parents, and more.

THE BEAR'S BROKEN OMEGA is the third book in the Grizzly Ridge series, and is about Zander, sheriff of Grizzly Ridge and bear shifter, and Reid, a traumatised for more than one reason warlock. You don't have to have read the other two, but I think it helps, if only for background.

Reid was abused as a child, starts rebelling and spreading his wings, and is forced into a mating that he never wanted, and is abused once more. So when I say he has trust issues, trust me. He does, and with fair reason. Zander is the sheriff and doesn't expect to find his mate in the middle of a battle, but there you go. He understands that Reid needs treating gently and tries to give him space, while also showing that he can be trusted and relied upon.

This is a slow-burn of a story, made more complicated for the main characters when they realise Reid is pregnant with his captor's baby. My heart broke for him, even as I cheered him on. I loved how he made Zander work for his affection, and I loved even more how Zander completely understood and didn't play games in return.

There are hints for at least two more books in the series - Garrett and Kit, and Nathaniel and George. I honestly can't wait to read these.

This series is full of hurt and trauma, while showing that the love of the right man/shifter isn't all that you need, but it goes one helluva long way to making your world right again. 4.5 rounded up and definitely recommended!

The Bear’s Broken Omega - A. J. Cane
5/5

* SPOILERS *

I’ve never read anything by this author and I don’t know why I haven’t because the way that Zander & Reid had me locked in their path to their happiness was everything I could ever want and so much more. I’m a huge fan of omegaverse and when you mix it in with an alpha wanting to do everything to make his omega happy and an omega who finds his way, this book was definitely calling my name.

I just loved Zander so much. I love how patient he was with Reid. Reid has been with an abusive alpha where he doesn’t think alphas are safe at all. The way that they gravitate towards one another is so beautiful. I love how they immediately are drawn to each other, especially Reid because he tries so hard to not be into his mate.

This book was super sweet and I’m a huge fan of fated mates and found family as well. I just love how protective the pack is over Reid and would do anything for this hurt warlock omega.

The ending took me out with how Kit addressed Garrick. That whole scene had me giggling. My favorite was when Zander meets Luca and it’s the most touching scene ever. Even though he is not the biological father of Luca, he is going to raise him as his own.

Also, I need Kit’s story because he is so sassy nevertheless. Garrick definitely has his work out cut out for him.

If you’re looking for a book that is slow burn, has all the feels, and an alpha that will go through fire to protect his omega, this book is for you.

The blurb sets this book up very well, and it drew me in from the first page. Reid has little reason to trust alphas after his forced mating with the wolf shifter who had kidnapped him, and he is very leery of Zander, a bear shifter who claims he is Reid’s mate. Zander is patient while working to build trust with his little warlock, with safety being his priority, and over time his persistence pays off. Reid is slowly trusting Zander, he is allowing some touches and closeness, feeling a sense of safety in his presence and lowering some of his walls. When a powerful warlock from Reid’s past appears, Zander calls on the help of another powerful warlock to protect him and the other omegas in town, while planning the rescue of some more omegas nearby.

There is a slowly developing trust then love tale with magical spells, kidnapping and omega trafficking, shifters, and a baby on the way, in an action packed, low spice adventure romance with an eventual HEA. There is even the chance for another romantic pair or two to star in future books in the series. Engaging characters, great world building, mating bonds and knotting, battles and harrowing rescues make for an entertaining and engaging tale which I read in one sitting, finding it hard to put the book down. This is a book I would recommend if you like action tales with alpha shifters protecting vulnerable omegas, helping them gain a life with control of their own destinies while secure in their alpha’s protecting arms.

Thank you Gay Romance Reviews and the author for the ARC

“The Bear’s Broken Omega” is a slow burn, omegaverse with mpgreg romance that features Zander and his fated mate, Reid, who was forced to mate someone he was not fated to. Reid is not used to kindness. He was used by his family and was forced to mate someone he did not want to. So when Zander comes, and he realises he’s his true fated mate, Reid goes into panic mode thinking he’ll do the same as others. But Zander is kind. He has patience, and he views his omega as someone who needs to be protected, cherished and adored. Slowly, Zander shows Reid that they can find their happily ever after.

This series is going to be the end of me! Every single one of them explores hurt and comfort in the most devastating way! Danny was a victim of abuse by his ex-boyfriend, and Reid has to find himself after years of being used by others. While it’s not easy to be happy when all you know is pain, Zander tries his best to protect Reid and the child he’s expecting. Reid’s POV is heartbreaking, the way he talks about himself and how he learns to trust other people will absolutely crush you.

But this is not a sad story! This is a story about someone finding his strength and his forever home with his found family! That while you can live a strained life, eventually good things will happen to you and you will meet someone who will love you and respect you and make those past memories something very distant. Zander will make sure Reid will be pampered and forget all the bad things by making new happy memories with him.

“The Bear’s Broken Omega” is another great book in this series of fated mates and shifters! It was wonderful to read Reid’s and Zander’s story!

This story delivers exactly the kind of emotional punch I adore in fated-mate romances, tension, tenderness, and the slow, careful rebuilding of trust after unimaginable hurt. Reid’s journey is especially compelling. He’s been through horrors no one should ever face, and the trauma he carries is written with sensitivity and depth. His instinct to protect himself, even when he longs for connection, makes every step he takes feel meaningful.

Zander, on the other hand, is the perfect counterbalance: patient, steady, and fiercely protective without ever crossing into possessive territory. His determination to let Reid move at his own pace, to show him through actions rather than pressure that he’s safe, makes him incredibly easy to root for. It’s refreshing to see an alpha written with such gentleness and restraint, especially in a world where dominance can so easily be misused.

The bond that develops between them feels earned. It isn’t instant bliss; it’s built slowly, through small gestures, quiet moments, and Zander’s unwavering refusal to give up on Reid—even when Reid himself can’t imagine a future where he’s loved. Their dynamic is beautifully balanced: a wounded warlock trying to believe in hope again, and a bear shifter who wants nothing more than to give him the peace he deserves. Fantastic read and highly recommend

Nothing is more satisfying than reading a slow burn romance that builds slowly for all the right reasons. Especially when such care has been taken to represent trauma and healing in a way that is empathetic and well expressed. Even having never gone through the horrific abuse and manipulation that Reid was forced to experience, it was easy to connect with his emotions and reasons for harsh distrust. Tears flowed freely for this story.

Fortunately, Reid had been given Zander as a mate by fate. The bear shifter sheriff has the patience of a Saint and the gentle perseverance to give Reid the room he needed to heal while never giving up hope that they would be together someday. He's the kind of character everyone wished for as a partner but doesn't think actually exist because that would be too good to be true. A true protective alpha, he is fully devoted to making Reid feel safe and loved. However, he is not perfect. . . which make him even more likeable.

The story is very well written, with beautiful attention to detail with settings and character interactions. The pace dragged a bit on a few spots, but the plot was so good it hardly mattered. An amazing addition to the remarkable series.

Recommended for fans of Taylor Rylan, Susi Hawke, and Wendy Rathbone.

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I really enjoyed this book and thought that this was another good addition to the Grizzly Ridge Series. It’s definitely my favourite of the series so far. I really liked getting to immerse myself in the world of Grizzly Ridge that AJ Cane has created. I’m so glad that Reid and Zander got their happily ever after, it was definitely hard fought. My heart hurt everything Reid has through and I definitely wanted to tell Reid that he’s finally safe and that everything is going to be okay but it’s completely understandable why he is the way he is after he been treated so horribly, even by his own parents.

Zander was so patient at taking things at Reid’s pace, and even apologised when his protective instincts came forward and accidentally frightened Reid if he was angry on Reid’s behalf and his bear would come forward. I loved seeing Reid slowly gain back is true self the longer he was in Grizzly Ridge. I thought Reid and Zander were great together. I’m looking forward to reading more from this series as it continues. It’s Garrett’s turn next and it’s definitely going to exciting, Garrett’s mate Kit is such a firecracker and won’t take sh*t from anyone, especially not his alpha mate but Garrett seemed completely smitten with him. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author to everyone.

This is not your average shifter series. It is full of surprises that keep it fresh and unique. I love the paranormal variety. Reid has suffered so much in his life, and it is great that Zander recognized him as his mate. Zander is perfect and patient. This lends to the book being a slow burn, but it is packed with action and emotion so it still achieves passion on a different level.

Everyone needs a momma bear like Melinda in their life. She shows such love and care for her sons’ omega mates, and her nurturing presence adds warmth to the story. The Blackwood brothers and their mates are wonderful to follow, and my favorite character type might still be to come - Kit seems feisty, sassy, and snarky, which is exactly the kind of personality I enjoy.

I also appreciate how the author broke up the overall plot for this series so we can enjoy each brother’s journey while still seeing the bigger progression. The resolution regarding Reid’s former coven felt a little vague to me, and I’m eager to see if more clarity comes in the next book.

Amidst the magical paranormal atmosphere, these books also deal with serious issues that some people suffer through. This series has a hold on my heartstrings, and I’m enjoying every moment of this thrilling, captivating ride.

3.5 stars.

I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the other two in the series, mostly because for a romance book there’s a distinct lack of romance. It’s understandable, but I would’ve liked the romance to be more builded upon and gradually become love, rather than Reid feeling mostly just light affection for Zander and then all of a sudden mating with him and saying I love you. Also, Reid appeared to forget he was pregnant as often as I did and even though he wanted the baby, made several decisions that put the baby at risk. That felt out of character and there solely to give Reid a reason to be in certain places to move the book in the direction of plot points the author had in mind.

It’s not a bad book by any means; I read it in one sitting, after all. The writing is great, but it felt lacking in romance, Reid is traumatised by alphas until he does a 180 and mates with Zander, and the mpreg was there but actually had nothing to do with the book and therefore didn’t need to be in the book at all. It actually would’ve been better without it.

Thank you GRR for the ARC. This review is honest and voluntary.

Passion that simmers for the correct causes is sure to flame. Especially when there is a sincere effort to portray healing and suffering in an expressive and compassionate manner. It was simple to empathize with Reid's feelings and understand his cynicism, even though I had never been through what he had. For this story, tears came freely. Luckily, Reid's mate Zander had been sent to him by destiny. The bear-shifter sheriff offers Reid the space he needs to recover, and he never gives up hope that they will be reunited someday; he has the patience of a saint. It would be too wonderful to be true if he actually existed, yet he's the type of relationship everyone dreams of having. He is a real alpha who will stop at nothing to ensure that Reid feels loved and protected. But he has his flaws, and those only serve to increase his endearment. Stunning detail in the story's locations and characters' interactions makes it a well-written piece. On occasion, the pacing was slow, but it was mostly irrelevant due to the excellent plot. Belongs to the extraordinary series; a magnificent addition.I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.

This is the third book in the Grizzly Ridge series and I would recommend that you read them in order. This is the story of Reid and Zander. Reid is an omega warlock who was mated against his will. With the death of his alpha, he is rescued and pregnant. Thankful to be rescued, he still isn't going to trust anyone again. Even if he meets his real fated mate at the rescue. Zander is an alpha grizzly shifter and sheriff of Grizzly Ridge. He is so happy that he has found his fated mate and destroyed because he is tied to another alpha. But that doesn't matter to Zander. He will do anything to earn his mates trust. As a start he brings in another warlock to help train Reid. Zander is patient and kind. He is prepared for it to take as long as it takes. He doesn't rush or resent Reid and his child. The book is well written and easy to read. I really enjoyed watching as their relationship slowly developed. I really liked this book. I look forward to the next book by this author.

Reid has always been used and abused through out his life. When he is saved from the man who kept him prisoner and used Reid’s magic for ill, he is not ready for what comes next. Zander realizes that Reid is his mate and is determined to show Reid what a true mate is. When a threat from Reid’s past comes calling Zander must step up and protect what is his.
I enjoyed Reid and Zander. The two are good together and it was nice to see them connect. Zander is a good man and he more than ready to keep Reid safe. The pain and abuse that Reid has gone through pulls at your heart and yet he still does all that he can to try to keep everyone safe but at a distance. I adored Zander and his understanding of what Reid is going through and yet still protects him in any way that he can. I loved seeing the trust grow between Zander and Reid and their bond develop. It was nice to see these two find their way through everything and to each other. Their story moves at a good pace and grabbed my attention right from the start and did not let go until the end.

While I enjoyed the premise of this story---being fated mates doesn't guarantee an HEA---I didn't feel the connection to Reid that I should have, and with his almost saintly patience, Zander was somewhat unbelievable to me. The few times that he almost lost control of his bear---and the one time he did at the end when Reid was in danger---made him more engaging to me, because it made him more "human". I did love the way he evolved in his efforts to win Reid's acceptance and affection, and I hated how slow Reid was to accept him. I also didn't much care for the almost clinical way that Reid and Zander finally became a couple. It didn't feel organic. It was as though the writer knew we'd want something to move ahead between them before we lost interest, and it wasn't as well-executed as it could have been. The story was more suspense than romantic, and some of the suspenseful scenes were overdone, like that whole warlock role reversal one at the end.

honeysuckle, PTSD, fried chicken, obsidian necklace, go mama bear, blinding blue light, like an opposum, antique jewelry, hot apple cobbler ala mode, warlock wolf shifter

Wow! A.J. Cane has written a terrific shifter-A/O mpreg-paranormal MM romance. The pace is quick and smooth. Graphic descriptions leap off the pages. There are some edge-of-your-seat scenes that'll keep you riveted. But, you'll enjoy this book like I did.

Human warlock Reid's journey from abused abductee to loved and wanted is arduous. It doesn't become stale, though. When Alpha bear shifter Zander realizes that Reid is his fated mate he goes from vicious to all Alpha mode. But, he understands that Reid has been traumatized for a long while. He tries his best to rein in his alpha bear urges and be patient with Reid. Zander ends up scaring him at times when his beast tries to break through.

I loved this book and think you will, too.

So this was the first book I have read by A.J. Cane and I really enjoyed it. Which surprised me the spice lvl is non existent and usually I like spicy books. But this one just grabbed me and held on! Before you dive in read the CWs, there are some topics that could be triggering.

The story is about an omega Ried who was kidnapped and bonded against his will. He gets rescued and finds his mate but with all he has faced trust doesn't come easy. On top of that he is pregnant and still being hunted. I really liked how difficult Reid was, it felt more real than just trusting his rescuers right away. It would have been an even better book if we got to see more about Reids powers. But overall I still found it a 5 star read. I will read more from this author.

I have to say that I have missed reading M/M books. This one was a dozy and I loved it. I love when one character is down and out and the other character comes in to swoop down and heal them. This is what this story is and I have to say that A.J. did an amazing job with navigating this story that I was sitting here reading wondering what was going to happen next and what did happen made me happy.

I got so lost in the story that I was like wow did that just happen. The relationship between the characters was slow and steady not rushed which is what I loved because I hate when a rescued character gets with another person and it's so fast and everything happens so fast that it is not believable. But that is not what happened here. They started off slow and built a real relationship that was good for both of them.

Reid is an omega warlock who was mated against his will. When he's rescued at the death of his alpha, he's thankful and hurting at the same time. Now he's in Grizzly Ridge with a true mate that he can't trust still tied to a fake mate.

Zander is the alpha sheriff of Grizzly Ridge. He's finally found his mate and is devastated that he's tied to another alpha. He's willing to do anything to gain his mate's trust. He starts by bringing in another warlock to train Reid.

This is a good paranormal, fantasy, romance with fated mates and found family. Zander was so loving and patient with Reid. Reid while cautious is still able to see the good in Zander. Trouble is dogging Reid's heels and everyone in Grizzly Ridge is doing everything they can to protect him. Everyone loves Reid and just wants to wrap him up. The story is good and I loved the camaraderie. I did think that the baby from the other alpha wasn't need. Reid and Zander had enough to deal without that. It was good that Zander was such a stand up guy that he didn't care and took on the baby as his. Looking forward to the next book. Garrick and Kit or Nathaniel and George or Hamish and Dr. Black.

The series has a lot of what I like: hurt/comfort, rescues, a family of brothers who find love in consecutive books. Although it's best read in order I haven't quite managed that and it didn't matter much, the stories are pretty much standalone although there is an ongoing theme of omega trafficking that Zander and his family are trying to resolve. In this case it's Warlock Reid and Sheriff bear shifter Zander who realise they are fated mates, but Zander has a lot of work to do to win over Reid's trust after his abusive past. I really liked the suspense element of the story and some of the side characters, especially the warlock who is brought in to help train Reid, Nathanial, and I really hope we get more of his story in future.

Intense! This story is about Grizzley Ridge Alphas rescuing captured trafficked omegas and Zander, town Sheriff scenting his mate, Reid among the captured. Reid was captured, raped and mated against his will. He is severely traumatized and has major issues trusting alphas. He is also has strong wizard powers who is deliberately untaught, was betrayed by his parents and his coven and has few operational skills. The courtship is slow and faces many challenges. This is an emotional story where Reid has to work through his abuse, Zander needs to learn patience, Reid needs to find his path and the Grizzley pack needs to make important choices. Great story, well done, nice cover art! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Reid had been bought from his parents by the head of the coven because he was a powerful mage his magic was siphoned for others to use kept locked up. Trent took him when on a “date” forced the mate bond on Reid who was made to do things against the omegas. Zander and his men came to save the omegas his brother Danny was one, after Trent was killed Zander scented that Reid was his mate. Reid didn’t trust anyone because he had been used for his magic which he couldn’t control and Zander found someone to help Reid with his magic, the pack had him cuffed. One of Trent’s men that hadn’t been there is watching to see when he can take Reid, the head of his coven wants him back too. Things worked out for them.

I loved this book. A beautiful hurt/comfort romance between an abused and traumatized omega warlock, and a sweet alpha bear desperate to help him heal and feel safe and happy. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Reid and Zander. My heart absolutely broke for the abuse Reid has suffered- not only from Trent, but from his own family before them. He is so scared to hope or believe in any kindness not to be a trap. I equally ached for Zander because of how badly he wanted to comfort and sooth Reid. A slow pace romance-wise and for good reason. This book was a healing journey for Reid.

I loved the the supporting characters. You really get a sense of who Zander's family is. I was so emotionally invested in these two and hooked to their story. 5 stars

This book was sweet

We have Reid who carries a lot of trauma since a child and is rescued from his abusive mate by Zander and his crew. At first Reid doesn't want anything to do with anyone, thanks to his trust issues, but gradually at the patience of Zander and all others, he begins to believe that Zander is actually his fated mate.

Not gonna lie, Reid was hella manipulative in this story but I can't really blame him. With their slow-burn, with medium chemistry, Zander and Reid become a found family even if Reid does a few dumb things that put him in life-threatening situations.

This book is fast paced with a slow burn romance. Reid is an omega warlock that has been kidnapped and mated against his will. Used and abused his whole life he is wary when good things happen to him. He gets rescued by bear shifter Zander who happens to be his fated mate. I love how Zander is so patient and understanding. You can really feel the love and support he has for Reid. These boys find trouble at every turn and keeps you on your toes. Well written, found family, good amount of steam and a great HEA. (Love the bonus scene) I received this book from GRR and these are my honest opinions.
