I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. After the Benediction 2: The coming storm is a Christian fiction novel that is about a church pastor named Pastor Joyce and how she handles the dynamics and dysfunction inside the church she ministers, as well as the same issues that involve her family. It dives into several topics that every Christian and church deal with and can relate to, such as being an authentic family, disputes, forgiveness, prayer and loving one another regardless of their circumstances, and also following God’s calling and obeying what he tells us to do. The characters seam real and it’s easy to get attached to them and root for them. I enjoyed some of the prayers the characters prayed, giving me encouragement to pray those same prayers for others. I didn’t read the first book about Pastor Joyce but I was able to follow along with the story without needing to, however I will go back and purchase the first one as well. Very well done and beautifully written .
This book shows healing is possible, forgiveness can change us, and faith ;even when shaken, is something worth holding onto. I’m usually into dark romances but this book was perfect and is refreshing from what I typically read, it is is a powerful, soul-stirring book. It is rich in spiritual insight, emotional vulnerability, and the messy, beautiful intersection of faith, family, and identity; that us as Christians face daily. What stands out most is how the narrative doesn’t shy away from the darker moments, moments of doubt, loneliness, and the temptation to walk away.
A realistic drama that merges the scandals and business politics of a global church empire with a family attempting to follow God's directions. An interesting read with so much detail that it could easily be a show to watch!
My word!!!!! This is a powerful read. I felt like I was a member of the church. This is so relatable to the times we are living in. Get right or get left….. This author blessed my heart and opened my eyes. Choose today who you will serve, don’t wait til after the benediction!
