One woman. Four men. And the end of the goddamn world.
I haven’t set foot outside in three years. Agoraphobia locks me in. Trauma keeps everyone else out. Life’s been quiet, controlled, and numb until the world ends in blood and teeth. Violence erupts in the streets. People turn feral overnight. I should’ve died in that apartment, forgotten and alone. Instead, I’m on the run with the only three men who’ve ever slipped past my defenses. Cole—my sweet delivery guy with kind eyes and a gentler touch. Jack—the cop who watches me like he’s afraid I’ll shatter. Wesley—my therapist, who knows exactly how broken I already am. We’re fleeing the city, chasing hope on the road to a military base where my brother and his best friend Dylan might still be alive. Chaos is everywhere. The only thing holding me together is them. After what Dylan did to my heart, I swore I’d never feel again. But in the middle of hell, love starts to bloom, sharp, unwanted, and impossible to ignore. And if the monsters don’t tear us apart, falling for all of them just might. High-stakes. Heartache. Heat. A zombie-apocalypse reverse harem romance about survival, found family, and falling in love when everything else is burning.
I don't know if I wanna be edged by Wes or adored by Cole. I went into this with zero expectations and came out dazed in the best way. This is a slow burn by the time stuff goes down, it is SO worth it. And when I say the heat is off the charts, I mean I had to lie down. And hydrate. Because holy hell these men??? SWOONY. HOT. SWEET. I want them all. I can’t decide if I want to be lovingly praised or completely destroyed and I think that’s the point. The emotional stuff felt real and raw. The relationships were just good. Like actual grown-up people learning how to care for each other in the middle of the apocalypse. Also… HOW is this written by a man?? This was my first time reading RH/romance from a dude and now I NEED MORE. 10/10 would let any of them ruin my life. To answer the note at the end of the book… Yes there’s room for you here this readers saved you a seat right by her.
Sissy (heroine) has serious mental health issues, she hasn't left the house in 15 years. Then boom the virus breaks out.
See thing is, the transition from terrified of her own shadow to suddenly being one of the people survivor's relied on, didn't work for me. It's short of miraculous really. Also what qualifications did she even have to be doing any of that? Nepotism at its best.
The MMCs were okay, non of them stood out. They were cliches.
I kept reading thinking, okay it going to hit the fan any minute now. .... Nope. They didn't drive that far away from the city, it was barely a day trip. Where were the zombies??
The whole thing was too easy.
If you need a side of smut with a dash (a small one) of zombies, this is for you. The rest of this is tedious relationship drama that was overly repeated, so very easy to skip.
This was such a well done zombie RH. I loved the depth of the men. And the way M&Ms were used was so emotional. Lots of little touches like that. I hope you take a break from horror again to give us another RH.
