Mia follows in her fathers’ footsteps. Not literally, because she has no idea where they are; that’s the entire problem. Figuratively, Mia follows in her fathers’ footsteps, which results in her following in Lara Milbourne’s footsteps. Accused of stealing drugs, on the run from a local cartel, the job should be an easy one. Find the woman, find the drugs, right? Cut and dry. But things are never as they seem, people least of all, and Mia will soon discover she’s in over her head…
Lover of dogs, spices and everything queer. She's spent so long wondering where all the sapphic-focused stories are that she decided to make her own contribution to the world.
Good book enjoyed the plot & character development all the decisions the characters make were sympathetic & in character. I do wish there were content warnings either at the start of the book or in the description of the book. I came in expecting a rom-com but got something much darker than any book I’ve read to date (if my understanding of some implications were correct).
Overall I would recommend this book because of its compelling characters & tense romance but with the caveat that the two main characters have quite the traumatic backstory which the share with each other & in flashbacks.
Appears to be first book, and an excellent one at that. Nonstop action, great characters, emotional roller coaster, or was that the action? Really looking forward to their next book(s).
