Ummmm all that building for an ending like that 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ The story was good until the ending and I’m not even talking about the cliffhanger. If there’s a second book I’m honestly not even interested. Spice was decent though.

🚨 Unwrapped by a Savage Don: A Fierce Start that Leads to a Frustrating Cliffhanger!
I went into this trying a new author, Mesha Mesh, and a new narrator, Alyx Monroe, and I was truly getting all in! I was ready to say "yes, yes, yes" to the chemistry and the high-stakes escape, but then the rug was pulled out from under me.
👰 The Great Escape and the Savage Meeting
The story kicks off with a bang: Tatum Genevese leaves her cold fiancé at the altar, defying her family’s expectations in a race for freedom. I was completely on board with her and her best friend Riley’s audacious plan to charm their way onto a private jet.
When she meets Don Naeem Bulgari, the owner of the aircraft, the tension is immediate. He is cunning, ruthless, and exactly the kind of "Savage Don" you expect in a mafia romance. Their alliance ignites a passion that had me hooked, making me think Tatum was finally going to carve her own path.
🛑 The "Backtrack" and the Cliffhanger
This is where the frustration kicks in. Just as the momentum was building and I was fully invested in the heat and the danger, the FMC turned and did a complete 180, backtracking on her growth. And then? The book just ended. Finding out this was a cliffhanger after getting so excited was fiercely disappointing. It felt like the story stopped right when it should have been hitting its stride.
🎙️ Audio Impressions: Alyx Monroe
As a first-time listen for this narrator, Alyx Monroe did a solid job of keeping me captivated through the suspenseful moments. However, even a great performance couldn't save the irritation of that sudden, unfinished ending.
⚠️ Why This One Left Me Pissed Off:
The Cliffhanger: There was no warning that this journey was going to be cut short right when it got interesting.
FMC Flip-Flop: Tatum’s sudden backtrack right before the end felt like it undid all the "fierce" energy she had at the altar.
Loss of Trust: This could have been so much more for me, but in the end, the execution lost me as a future reader.
My Final Verdict
Unwrapped by a Savage Don has potential with its intense chemistry, but the lack of resolution and the character regression make it a "one and done." I won't be returning to this series or author. 😤🚫📖

The ending was so dumb to me and it wasn't because of the cliffhanger. It was because why would she chose the ABUSER THAT SHE WAS RUNNING FROM to save over her MAN! Ruined the book for me. The said "I mAdE a MiStAkE", girllll byeeee!!! I am going to reed the second one but my goodness what a big disappointment after the author did so well building the relationship between the FMC and MMC even after they hooked up on first sight.

I really enjoyed this book. I love the almost insta Love component with nahiem I Tatum. I also enjoyed the kinship found between Tatum s, Sophia. That last few minutes made me SO angry at Tatum. I have to start book 2 immediately to see where this story goes!! Tatum better get herself together and quick!!!

I enjoyed this book but definitely don’t like the way it ended. I guess I’ll be reading the next book now.
