Don't miss Bella's next feel-good romcom, available to pre-order now!
One bad date too many calls for desperate measures . . . Nora is well and truly fed up. After more painfully bad dates than she can count, she’s had enough of leaving it to fate to find her perfect match – but she's not quite ready to give up on her love life just yet.
As a statistician, Nora trusts numbers more than her gut, so when she finds a formula that could help her conquer the dating game, she has to give it a go.
Putting her love theory to the test takes Nora to some questionable places with some even more questionable men, but she won't be deterred – she knows that 'the one' must be out there, somewhere. Even if he's the last person she'd have expected. . .

We have Nora, who is a statistician, who lives life according to statistics, and is now trying to apply a new statistical theory to her love life. She is convinced that the rule of 37% is key to it all, and in order to prove it, she is on a journey to revisit some of her exes.
She wonders if she was too hasty initially in dumping them, and generally I think she may have had some lucky breaks.
There is Dixie, her best friend who after losing her latest job, is encouraged to use the 37% rule to a list of potential new careers, and thus she turns into an influencer. She's wonderfully impulsive and ends up on a bit of an adventure that just reminds me how daft social media really can be at time. While really wanting to see Arnold in person! (Arnold is part of the local wildlife of where she ends up, but I'm not revealing what animal!).
You've got the wonderful Renee. Omg I totally loved this woman, she is much older than the rest, but a key part of their rafting and cocktails club. There is absolutely nothing this woman can't do, and the life she has lived with all of her anecdotes, if they are to be believed makes her amazing. And if not then she has a very vivid imagination. She is larger than life, full of energy, possibly likes her cocktails extra strength, and is an absolute breath of fresh air in any chapter she appears in.
And the last key member of their club is Jay, who is an actor. It is also rather obvious he is trying to impress a woman, as he's doing various things that are clearly outside of his comfort zone. This includes Bruce, and seeing Jay and Bruce interact especially initially is hilarious.
I adored this friendship group, and just how close they all are. Seeing how they are all trying to take on new things in their lives, is heartwarming and there are many laughs to be had too.
This was such an enjoyable book to read, I loved seeing the variety of Nora's exes, there is a trip to an animal rescue that I really loved, and all the characters antics just brough smiles to my faces.
Another complete and utter hit from Bella Osborne. I can't wait for her next books!
Thank you to Transworld Digital and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
Full of heart and Bridget Jones-worthy antics, this was the perfect Rom-Com to start the year with!
The writing was wonderfully witty and the cast of characters all incredibly endearing. I didn’t realise this was a multi-POV novel before starting, but getting to see the hilarious shenanigans each character stumbled into (and the unique ways in which they dealt with each situation) was marvellous.
Nora is our main character with a logical, statistical approach to love that sees her undertake a Seven Exes/ What’s My Number-esque journey in the hopes one of her exes might be “The One”.
Her quirkiness and enthusiasm for her dating formula was really quite engaging. And I enjoyed exploring each of her past relationships and the reasons that led/ contributed to each breakup.
I also loved her dynamics with Jay, Nora’s supportive (cinnamon roll) actor friend. His POV was really entertaining, especially after adopting Bruce (the most bearlike and mischievous dog imaginable.) And have to admit, watching him and Bruce navigate each other was genuinely the most I’ve laughed out loud in ages.
I really liked Dixie, Nora’s budding influencer bestie (who heads off on a solo trip in a 70s campervan) as well. With no real experience of car maintenance or the outdoors, Dixie’s POV only builds on Nora and Jay’s hilarious mishaps (including a cameo from the world’s angriest squirrel.) Which, combined, had me glued to my seat!
But the character that stole my heart the most (besides Bruce) had to be Renee. The sassy, G&T crafting retiree whose wicked sense of humour, wild stories and surprisingly diverse skill set has me eager to see her get her own spin-off.
Overall an enjoyable and uplifting read that Rom-Com fans should definitely consider checking out!
Also, thanks to Emma over at Bantam/Transworld for the proof.
I enjoyed the overall plot, and once I realised that there were multiple POVs, I enjoyed getting to know the many characters as well. I found Nora to be a bit too much of a stereotype at the start of the story - it felt like her only personality trait was that she was into statistics. However, as the plot progressed, I could appreciate her nuances with her overbearing parents and her unexpected yet wonderful relationships with her friends.
I like a good friends to lovers trope, though it felt like it took a bit too long to develop the friendship until everything happened very quickly at the end. I found their tension to be a bit over-exaggerated in the final act, though everything still tied up nicely. I thought Dixie was actually the most relatable, with her dreams, impulsivity, and being quick to love. Her journey brought a gentle frustration to the reader, but I wanted to route for her all the same.
Renee, on the other hand, was so funny and no-nonsense. It's a classic trope to have the older friend be so jarring but gods do I love to read about it. The drama with the engineering and pet sitting definitely kept me intrigued, though I wish more time had been spent on her personal life given her happy ending.
Overall, it was a perfectly nice rom-com of unique characters with deep frienships. I think existing fans would love this story, and anyone looking for a low-stakes easy read in the romance genre would also appreciate it.
Thank you to Bella Osborne and Random House UK, Transworld Publishers for the opportunity to receive an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
A cute and cosy read that I thoroughly enjoyed! I called the ending pretty early on but loved Noras journey of meeting up with her Exes and found some of them proper cringe (but still amusing).
Bruce was a big sweetheart and made me face light up whenever he appeared on the page! Jay was one of my favourites too and he came across as such a sweet and genuine guy!
If you're a fan of Whats My Number then you will love this book! Thank you to the publisher for sending me a proof copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was another gorgeous book from Bella. Easy, sweet and humorous I loved it and was sorry to finish it. I love her books and I highly recommend this fun read. My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
I thought this book started off really well, and then it nosedived. I just could not get into the story, I didn’t care about the characters and quite frankly, didn’t care what happened in the story. This is probably just not my style of book.
