The Wrong Pucking Omega

Rate this book
A date gone horribly right... with the wrong person.

I came to Nashville on spring break with my aunties to forget my ex.
One night, I met two alpha hockey players in the hotel bar.
I’m not ready for alphas again.
But they have to fulfill their part of a bet, so I let them show me around town.
With every day that passes, I grow more attached.

Then I discover that I’m not even the omega they were supposed to meet that night in the hotel bar.
Why does being the wrong omega feel so right?
And will we do when spring break ends and I go back to Hawai’i to finish my semester?

Two Alpha Hockey Players who lost a bet. One omega of their dreams... except this wasn't the omega they were supposed to meet . . .

"The Wrong Pucking Omega" is a why choose omegaverse hockey romance. It's part of the Knotty Puckers Shared World, though you don't have to have read the other books to enjoy this book.

No hate to the author and I’m sure they mean well, but the way the main character is written feels more like tokenism and less like representation.

The Wrong Pucking Omega by Jane Handler - Book Review Knotty Pucker Series #12

Genre - Sports Romance Omegaverse
Rating - ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Spice - 🌶️🌶️.25

Vibes -
I love this Author, Jane Handler Omegaverse and Hockey, MM and Found Family, Sign me up. But Unfortunately I was left wanting with this book, the writing style of this book felt off, flat and different from what I’ve come to expect of this author. The idea of a holiday romance come HEA sounds wonderful I did enjoy the book but if felt like a very average read, nothing special and even with an insta-love vibe , it still seemed like the pacing was too rushed.

I had high expectations for this book and I feel a little let down, I wasn’t the biggest fan of Kai and the relationship between Ashton and Steven seemed two cutesy for an Alpha-Alpha relationship. I did enjoy the epilogue but that also felt rush like I just wanted that bit more depth to the whole thing.

It was an enjoyable read if you want an easy insta-love omegaverse with no high stakes.

The Wrong Pucking Omega is part of the Knotty Puckers shared world. The books are standalone and can be read independently. The stories take place over the hockey season and have crossover characters.

This was an awesome conclusion to the shared world. I laughed my way through this book. The banter is exquisite and plentiful. The meddling aunties are pure delights. Our Omega really comes into her own throughout the story. The guys were adorable and instant book boyfriends.

A truly enjoyable read..highly recommend.

Sadly this was not for me. I love why choose but something about these characters that just weren't doing it for me. I had to DNF at chapter 6.

The best Aunties and a switcheroo

Just when you think you will have the best Spring break your world implodes. What should have been a great trip (mostly funded by yourself) with friends and your Alpha boyfriend turns into a nightmare. This man you thought might propose instead cancels your ticket and takes his side piece instead.

I absolutely loved the chaos the Aunties caused those firmer friends. It was diabolical in all the best and legal ways. When almost everything is in your name you (or the vindictive Auntie) can absolutely cancel hotels, flights, and excursions. Let them deal with it while stranded in another country.

I loved that the cousins took the car and gave it a perfect makeover for her. Also I need cousins and Aunties like that. So now it's time to be spoiled. Sure Nashville isn't Bali but it is exactly what Kai needed.

Ashton and Steven are freaking adorable together. They are an established couple and seeing them perfectly content in their relationship was fun to read. I loved the way these three were immediately comfortable together. While they only agreed to show an Omega around for a day that turned out to be just the start.

I loved all the cute outings/dates. They were simple and yet perfect. The took what Kai loved and found dates that were something she would enjoy. The tree scene was absolutely adorable. Their relationship progressed fairly quickly but it also felt right even though they knew she would be going back to Hawaii.

The spicy scenes were kind of silly but they felt right for the characters. I definitely wanted more descriptions so we felt part of it more but it was still good.

I love Jane's books and this one was good but not as good as the others she has written. So if you end up not liking this one try her other books.

REVIEW OF AN ARC COPY (given to me by the author, in return for my honest opinion.)

I’m a huge fan of Omegaverse, and I already love Jane Handler’s writing, so I went into this book really excited—and I’m happy to say I enjoyed it a lot. It had that signature OV feel I love, with strong dynamics, emotional connections, and characters you can’t help but root for.

Kai’s story really stood out to me. Starting off with being left behind on a vacation she paid for by her ex and supposed friends? That alone had me immediately in her corner. It set up such an emotional starting point, and you really feel that sense of hurt, betrayal, and loneliness. But then being pulled into a trip with her aunties? That shift was everything—it gave her a chance to heal, to breathe, and to step into something new.

And then we meet Ashton and Steven—the hunky Alphas. Their introduction into Kai’s life felt natural but exciting, and I loved how quickly the dynamic started to build. What really meant a lot to me was how they fully accept Kai as non-binary without hesitation. That acceptance wasn’t treated as a big dramatic moment—it was just there, solid and genuine, and it made their connection feel even more meaningful.

Kai’s journey throughout the book was both heartbreaking and healing. Watching her unlearn the damage from her past relationship and realize that there are people who will love her for exactly who she is was so powerful. You really feel her growth, her vulnerability, and her strength as she opens herself up to something new.

The relationship between the three of them was honestly so soft and loving. It wasn’t just about attraction—it was about trust, acceptance, and building something real together. Their bond felt balanced and genuine, and I loved how each connection added something different to the dynamic.

Overall, this was such a heartfelt and enjoyable read. It had emotional depth, strong representation, and a relationship that felt both comforting and empowering. Definitely a great addition to the Omegaverse genre, and one I’m really glad I picked up.

Thank you, Jane, for my copy of The Wrong Pucking Omega. The last book in the Knotty Pucker shared world, it can be read as a standalone. I haven't read any of the other books, but I am definitely intrigued. The Wrong Pucking Omega starts with Kai being screwed over by their Alpha & friends! But the Aunties step in & Spring Break in Nashville is on. Events happen & Kai meets Alpha boyfriends & professional hockey players Ashton & Steven. They start as friends, develop into some spicy Spring Break fun & climax in a HEA.

The Wrong Pucking Omega is an Omegaverse romance & unlike other books by Jane Handler doesn't end on a cliffhanger! This book is for readers of Omegaverse who enjoy a twisted web of secondary characters who get there just deserts as the MCs get their HEA.

Wrong Pucking Omega is a sweet, hockey omegaverse! When your no good boyfriend and Alpha trades your airline ticket, steals your money, and takes another omega, and your supposed best friend conspires with him to leave you behind on the spring break trip you paid for but you have Aunties that will have your back and have no problem with stranding them in another country, moving you out and taking you to Nashville to cheer you up! While in Nashville, you meet 2 Alpha hockey players because one of them lost a bet and they fully support helping you post fun, in your face, pictures to your social media to show the world you aren't laying down and taking what your ex alpha did to you! You're living your best life and wind up catching feelings only to find out you weren't the omega they were supposed to meet.

Want to know more? This book is laugh out loud funny, emotional, and swoon worthy! I really enjoyed it!

Thank you, Jane Handler for the advanced reader copy of your new Omegaverse, “The Wrong Pucking Omega”

This Omega was betrayed by her alpha and best friends, and her hilarious and show-stealing aunties weren’t about to let that happen. They took her on the Spring Break of a lifetime to get over her broken heart and maybe even learn to stand up for herself a bit too. Add in some hot hockey alphas and a little case of mistaken identity and let the sparks fly🌺

This was a quick read with that Omegaverse Spice, fun settings, and meddling aunties.

I appreciated the style of the omega (trash panda chic) and the mental health and non-binary representation. The aunties with their antics and whit were my favorite parts.

This was just a really fun, easy read.
The whole “wrong omega” setup is a little chaotic in the best way, and it does not overcomplicate things. It is very much about the vibe, the chemistry, and the dynamic between the characters.
I liked that the two alphas already had an established relationship. It made things feel a bit different, and their personalities balanced each other well. Adding the omega into that mix felt natural for the tone of the story.
The romance moves fast, which makes sense for the spring break setting, but it also means it is not super deep emotionally. It is more about connection and enjoyment than anything heavy.
Overall, this is a quick, low-angst read that is perfect if you want something light, fun, and a little bit chaotic.

This book followed Kai through their messy breakup with a toxic ex. Their aunties immediately took them on a vacay where they met two amazing alphas from a matchmaking situation. Through Ashton and Steven’s care and company, Kai finds her self worth again. I loved the aunties and the whole family dynamic. A sweet story about finding love after betrayal.

So much about this book I love. I love Ashton and Steven’s relationship and how quick they accept Kai and who they are. Everything that happens to Kai’s ex and friends was well deserved and I love a good HEA! There is a good plot and a good amount of spice too. I do recommend.

Pucking Wrong Omega is the 12th book in the Knotty Puckers series. This is an interconnected multi-author series. This installment is brought to us by Jane Handler. "The Wrong Pucking Omega" is a why choose Omegaverse hockey romance. It's part of the Knotty Puckers Shared World, this book can be read as a standalone or you can read the complete series the choice is completely up to you.

Kai: Is of mixed heritage, she is non-binary and goes by the pronouns she/they. Kai’s a college student in her final year of her undergraduate program and is getting ready to start her PHd. She’s from Hawaii and she refuses to give up her dreams and her career plans for anyone no matter what. Kai’s is driven, independent, loves dragonflies, plants, and ethnobotany. Kai’s character growth from the start of this book is just so stunning.

Ashton: He plays defence for the Scented Scorpions (Hockey). He’s this giant bearded lumbersexual with a man-bun. He’s also in an established relationship with Steven. He’s the more caregiving one with an addiction to scrunchies and has quite the collection.

Steven: Plays the position of Forward for the Scented Scorpions, he’s this protective goofball.

Together Steven and Ashton are nothing but pure green flags and they are Kings of consent. They have these perfectly adorable personalities.

Kai’s Aunties: To start I loved Auntie Cookie and Kiki. These two women I found to be so supportive, even if they were meddling and the worst of all the matchmaking Aunties.

I just adored these women and they were without a doubt just AMAZING and Auntie Kiki above all proved over and over why you don’t mess with their favorite.
What Auntie Kiki did to take back Kai’s control was amazing and I loved every moment of what she did. Even going as far as reporting the fraud to their respective PhD programs and the University Ethics board and more. And yes, they did more then that and you have to read this book to learn exactly what the Aunties, especially Auntie Kiki, did to Logan and Kai’s ex-friends. (And there’s no remorse felt at all.)

Claire: Claire saved Kai from an Alpha who wouldn’t leave Kai alone at the bar and they sit down and get talking. Both Kai and Claire share a love of dragonflies. Claire has her own matchmaking Auntie as well, and Claire wishes that her Auntie would back off. Claire is dating an Alpha named Jackson who’s ready to bring their relationship out into the light, Jackson also happens to be a country music singer. Claire, Kai, Jackson, Ashton, and Steven quickly become friends.

Kai had what she thought the best Spring break planned with her Alpha boyfriend Logan and their friends. Kai had planned and funded for the most part a trip to Bali for their Spring break, it was supposed to be a fantastic trip, but when Kai arrived back at her campus housing, a place she shared with Logan, everything suddenly imploded and turned into a nightmare. Kai had thought Logan might propose on this trip, instead she finds out that he had gone behind her back, canceled her ticked and rebooked it for his mistress instead. And making things worse, Kai finds out that Logan had stolen a rather large amount of money out of her bank account.

Feeling lost and along, Kai suddenly gets a call from her Auntie Kiki. Hearing her Aunties voice, she breaks down and tells Kiki everything. And not to Kai’s surprise, her Auntie jumps into action, quickly arriving at her campus housing and takes over everything. Making sure that Kai files a fraud charge for the money Logan stole from her all while Kiki deals with the mess Logan and her friends left behind in leaving Kai behind while Kai was the one who paid for the trip. I love how the cousins took the car that Logan used but was in Kai’s name, changed the locks and gave it a total make-over, all because of how much they love Kai. I wish I had cousins and Aunties like Kai.

Then Kiki gets Kai’s cousins and uncles to move Kai out of campus housing, taking only what belongs to Kai and leaving Loagans belongs behind. Then they get Kai’s name off the lease, leaving Logan on the hook for the full rent.

Once all that’s done, Kiki packs a new bag for Kai telling Kai that she’s going to be joining all the Aunties on their yearly trip to Nashville. And man, oh man, do I ever love all the Aunties and the chaos they caused, they are not only family, they are firm friends. The Aunties are diabolical in their thought process, and thankfully it’s all legal and only the best of ways.

Once in Nashville, all the Aunties spoil Kai rotten and introduce Kai to the finer thing’s life has to offer. After one afternoon dinner, the Aunties tell Kai that they have tickets for a performance and they were unable to get her a last-minute ticket and that they would like her to spend a bit of time down in the bar before she returns to her room. She needs to stop hiding herself away.

Ashton and Steven, they both play for the Scorpions and are an established couple and my God are they ever adorable together. I loved the way they were so content in their relationship with just the two of them and reading about just their relationship was so much fun. But, when they meet Kai, all three of them are just so cute together and more than that they are just so comfortable together, I loved to see that. And sure, they only reason they agreed to meet this Omega in the first place is because Ashton lost a bet with their PR Manager, but they were all surprised when they quickly realized that what started out as Ashton and Steven agreeing to show Kai around for a day was quickly turning into something so much more and there was something more growing between them all.

Ashton and Steven took Kai out on some really very cute outings/dates. And even though they were simple they were still so perfect. And one of the things that Jane did is she wrote Ashton and Steven listening to Kai and what she liked and then they built and found dates around those interests so she would enjoy what they planned for them to do.

My favorite scene has to be the one with the tree, that scene was so absolutely adorable. And sure, the relationship between Ashton, Steven, and Kai progressed fairly quickly, it still felt natural and it felt right, even though both Ashton and Steven knew that Kai was going to be returning to Hawaii and school at the end of Spring break.

Then there were the spicy scenes, they kind of felt silly at times, bu again, it just felt right and natural at the same time.

Jane Handler is one of my favorite OmegaVerse author and I loved this book, maybe not as much as her other OmegaVerse books she’s written, but I still loved it.

If you love the OmegaVerse with strong dynamics, emotional connections, and characters you can’t help but love then this is a great book to give a read. But, if you don’t enjoy this one, don’t give up on Jane, try one of her other books, she’s a phenomenal author and I absolutely adore her.

A few memorable moments that stood out to me were:

Arboretum Date
The Purple Gerbera Daisies
There were a few cute dates while Kai, Ashton, and Steven just explored Nashville together.
There were some cute times where the three would just cuddle up together.
I loved it when they were sharing cakes together
And then there was the moment when they confessed their feelings of Love

A few of my favorite quotes are:

“Auntie says that alphas may come and go, but handbags are forever. #BagsOverAlphas.”

“It's all him. The lumberjack made a proper cabin for us.” Steven laughed as he got higher. “You mean lumbersnack,” Kai laughed.

“I’ve stolen your scrunchie. If you’d like it back, please bring ransom when we go to coffee. Have a good practice. XOXO.”

“They may have originally mistaken you, but you’re not the wrong omega, Kai. Everything led them right to you.”

"This wine is worth more than your ex." PERIOD

"It's our bet. It's you and me. Always."

"I'd casually fuck her if she wanted. I'd uncasually fuck her if she wanted."

"How are you feeling today and I don't just mean on a scale of one to twelve trash pandas. Do you need cuddles? Do you need food? Do you need to be told that you're attractive and fed tacos?"

"Kai was the missing piece of our puzzle."

"He stole from you. He's not your boyfriend. His feelings no longer matter."

The Wrong Pucking Omega by Jane Handler
⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 🌶️🌶️.5
⤷ Jane Handler is a must-read OV author for me, and she did not disappoint with this new book! This book starts off by grabbing your emotions with how Kai was betrayed by her alpha and supposed friends, and then introduces their supportive meddling aunties that immediately come to her aid and bring her to Nashville for Spring Break.

⤷Despite Kai’s story spanning two weeks, we still see strong & meaningful relationship building and connection with the alphas, Steven & Ashton. They were such green flags, and were so thoughtful with the dates/gifts and respectful to Kai. I appreciated that all the main characters were career-driven, and they respected and encouraged each other.

⤷ If you are looking for a quick, sweet and healing omegaverse book, with matchmaking aunties, swoonworthy & hunky hockey players, courting dates, and a well-deserved HEA, this is perfect for you!

⤷The Wrong Pucking Omega is part of the Knotty Puckers shared world. The books are standalone and can be read independently. This book was my first in the shared world, and it can really be read on its own.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4 stars)
The Wrong Pucking Omega by Jane Handler is what happens when betrayal meets auntie-level vengeance… and then gets distracted by hot hockey players.
Kai gets done DIRTY right out the gate. Funded the trip. Packed the bags. Had the man.
And then—surprise!—their ticket gets swapped for the side piece like it’s a last-minute outfit change.
Absolutely not. Jail. Immediately.
But before Kai can spiral properly, the aunties step in—and let me just say:
this is not “take a bubble bath and journal” support.
This is “log into every account, cancel every booking, and let them figure it out in a foreign country” support.
Flights? Gone.
Hotels? Good luck.
Excursions? Thoughts and prayers.
And honestly? As an auntie myself… I support this behavior. I would participate. I would bring snacks.
From there, Kai gets scooped up for a Nashville reset, where fate (and a mildly chaotic PR setup) delivers Ashton and Steven—two hockey-playing Alphas who are already in a relationship and somehow still manage to raise the bar even higher.
And when I say these men treat Kai right??
I mean emotionally supportive, respectful, attentive, and fully invested right out the gate.
The contrast between them and the ex is so sharp it should come with a warning label.
The whole “this is just one date” situation lasts approximately five minutes before it turns into:
✨ full-week hangout
✨ emotional attachment
✨ “wait… we actually like each other??”
The vibe is flirty, fun, a little chaotic, and very much “we didn’t plan this but we’re not stopping either.”
Also—can we talk about how refreshing it is that Kai’s identity is just… respected? No weirdness, no drama, just acceptance across the board. We love to see it.
And the revenge thread keeps popping back up like a little treat. Nothing over-the-top, just enough “you absolutely got what you deserved” energy to keep it satisfying.
One tiny note: one of the MMCs is extreme golden retriever energy. Like… aggressively wholesome. Personally, I found it entertaining, but mileage may vary.
Tropes delivering the goods: 🖤 Omegaverse
🖤 MMF / why choose
🖤 Hockey romance
🖤 Found family (AUNTIES ON TOP)
🖤 Scent match
🖤 Revenge (served politely… but still served)
🖤 Non-binary rep
🖤 “this was casual” → it was not
Final thoughts:
This book is fun, fast, and full of the kind of chaos I fully endorse.
You come for the drama…
You stay for the hockey players…
And you leave wanting to join Kai’s auntie group chat.
Because listen—
if you’re not willing to cancel flights for your niece, what are you even doing?

The story kicks off strong, and Kai’s ex? Absolutely not. I cannot stand that boy, and I already feel bad for any future omega/pack he ends up with. That said, so much time was spent on that situation that I kept expecting it to build into something bigger or more suspenseful later on. It didn’t quite land that way for me. I think trimming some of that subplot (like the side-piece’s dad/ex's mom stuff) could’ve made more space for the central relationship and helped the pacing feel more balanced.

Kai, Steven, and Ashton were genuinely adorable together. I do wish we’d gotten a bit more of Ashton and Steven before Kai entered the picture, but again, there just wasn’t enough room for it. Still, their dynamic worked, and that epilogue? So cute. It left me smiling and completely satisfied with where they ended up.

And the aunties?? Absolute icons. I loved every single one of them. They each brought something different, and Kai is incredibly lucky to have that kind of support system.

I love Jane’s omegaverse, and the overall concept of this story was exactly what I wanted, but the pacing felt a little off for me. It came across as rushed, which I think is mostly because I’m used to her giving us chunky duets or trilogies. In comparison, a standalone just didn’t have the same breathing room.

I really did enjoy this book, but I think I would’ve loved it if it had been a duet with more room for angst, tension, and character development. I might need to revisit the rest of the series (since this wraps it up) to see if it’s just this one, or if I’m truly a duet/trilogy-only girl when it comes to her writing.

Thank you, Jane, for the ARC!

Kai’s ex is trash as is her ex best friend and that whole group (except for like 2 of the guys) but what they did to her at the start had me actually gasping out loud because the audacity! Thank goodness for Auntie Kiki! And the other aunties but Auntie Kiki is the MVP.

Then she meets Ashton and Steven who lost a bet to their PR manager and as such, have to take an omega out and show her a good time around town. They ended up having such a good time that one date becomes two, becomes three, etc. but they all try not to get attached because Kai is coming out of a long term relationship that ended terribly and Ashton and Steven have also been spurned by an omega before *and* Kai is only in Nashville for spring break. Her doctorate program and their hockey careers make moving for each of them impossible but how do they remain unattached to someone who fits them so well?

All the dates they went on were fun and so thoughtful and I like that Kai maintains their independence while also letting herself have a great time with alphas who treat her well. I love Auntie Kiki’s advice and how much she looks out for and takes care of Kai! I want my own Auntie Kiki for sure. The aunties were so funny! And I like that they didn’t coddle her but also made sure she had the best time and gave stellar advice. No Ds before degrees!

Kai’s ex and ex friends are absolutely foul and deserve everything they got. And if I had one critique, it would be that Kai wasn’t so forgiving at the beginning when everything was happening (and even a little bit at the end in her thoughts). What everyone did to her was crazy and I wanted her to feel fully scorned and on the warpath lol

I read an ARC but it did not bias my honest review.

I received a free copy of this book and am leaving my review without obligation.

It is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. Kai is a non-binary Omega who experiences a horrific breakup at the beginning of the story.

She gets left behind for a planned trip to Bali by her asshole boyfriend. He also takes money from her credit card, and his side-piece to Bali in her place. All their general friends, including her ride or die best friend, knew in advance what was going to happen. Jeez, I wouldn't know what to do if something like that happened to me!

But she has the very best aunti's helping her get revenge, and believe me, she’s doing a good job! Kai wants to crawl into her bed and cry with sadness. But Aunt Kiki won’t allow that. She takes Kai along on her week-long vacation to Nashville. The aunties want Kai to go looking for another Alpha again, but she isn’t ready for that yet.

By luck, she meets 2 hockey players in the hotel bar and they decide not to date, but to be activity partners. A whole week full of fun and snuggles. That is the ultimate thing she needs. She never thought that in a week she would fall in love and be heartbroken to leave those Alphas behind.

It is a great omegaverse, different, but really not bad. Kai has a huge family that supports her and takes revenge with the ex, and in wonderfully vindictive ways! But he deserves it. The alphas Ashton and Steven are great. They are an existing couple who, at the time of meeting, are not looking for an omega. But as the week progresses, it is impossible to prevent them from falling in love.

It was a rollercoaster of emotions, heartwarming moments, and besties you can count on. What more could you want? The spice isn't too bad either. I love an omega sandwich 🤩

Kai was going through all of the struggles the entire book. They were definitely untouchable at their highest of highs and fighting dirty at those lows. It seemed like a few of those really amazing moments were followed up with their schmuck of an ex or the anxieties they are dealing with having dealt with aforementioned schmuck.

I think Kai, Steven and Ashton fit so well together. They also all have upgraded in the partner department. From Charlotte and Logan, they are the ideal throuple and are goals. They do everything they can to make one another feel good about themselves and not throw themselves under the bus to accommodate the others. (lowkey feels weirdly worded but im running off of too many espresso shots in my coffee and my heart is racing). Even with the case of mistaken identity, they are just perfect together.

Steven and Ashton are determined for Kai to finish their degree and get their PhD in ethnobotany (such a cool research topic). Everyone got what they’ve wanted in life and the people that have wronged them, I hope those beings lick a toad and get violently sick, not die.

My first note on my ARC was honestly, I want my own team of Aunties. No matchmaking ones purely because I am a married person but, I love the support system and the chaotic goodness they bring. Is that something that I can wish into the aether? Is there a distribution system for Aunties like there are for cats and other entities?

Fate was really popping it for the Scented Scorpions and they really popped off with this pairing as well. Bet you ass, I will be trying to get my grubby paws on the few in the Knotty Puckers series that I haven’t gotten to yet.

This book was everything I didn't know I needed in my life right now!

After her Alpha betrayed her trust and cheated on her, as well as her friends' gaslighting her, Kai went on her spring break with her aunts after one helped her start to get not only her revenge, but also some of her money back. Nashville turned out to be just as fun as Bali after Kai met Ashton and Steven, Alpha hockey players who are also boyfriends. The guys also accept that Kai is non-binary and respect their pronouns and boundaries for the week they're all together. One small problem that comes out at the end of their week together - Kai wasn't the Omega they were supposed to meet. While the guys reassure Kai that they don't care and only want them, they live in Nashville half the year while Kai is still in school in Hawai'i. So how will this relationship work?

Ashton, Steven, and Kai get their happy ending in this standalone book in a series.

My heart broke for Kai with all they had to go through at the beginning of the book, and what awful people they were to dox them like that. I loved all the support Kai had from their family and how they all came together to help them get out of the apartment quickly and work to make sure the truth was out in the open. I do wonder how bad it was for Ashton and Steven with their previous Omega, and how long before the book it was that they were still skittish about relationships. I was a little surprised at how young the guys were, but it worked well with Kai and where they all were in their lives.

I received an advance review copy from The Smuthood Promo, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

We open with our main character Kai being betrayed by not only their Alpha, but also their friends. Kai is a non-binary, bi-sexual Omega. Kai has paid for a trip to Bali for their Alpha Logan and 4 other friends. The group moves the flights earlier and changes Kai’s ticket to be for Drea.
Kia is devastated, but their Aunt Kiki cancels all the return trips for the group, and takes Kai with on an “auntie trip” to Nashville.
Meanwhile, Steven and Ashton are two Alphas who are in a relationship and play for a hockey team playing in the finals in Nashville. Steven loses a bet – and their PR person tells them they have to meet an Omega wearing a sundress and Dragonfly clip and have a “date”.
They are supposed to meet an influencer Claire – but she’s got a boyfriend. She and Kai meet in the bar, and Kai tells their story and Claire gives her the dragonfly clip thinking Kai might enjoy meeting someone.
The aunts are amazing and so supportive of Kai. And Steven and Ashton – WOW. Their relationship together is so perfect and they treat Kai they are royalty. One date turns into a whole week and halfway into the book the relationship turns spicy and the spice is on point.
Claire has Kai posting their fantastic week on Social Media, the aunt help them pursue justice and Steven and Ashton realize that this is more than a week’s relationship.
Steven and Ashton are so supportive of Kai’s dreams and ambitions and they work out how to support them through their education and research.
Such great, well developed characters and such a fun story.

Did Not Finish

DNF @ 43%

I really wish I could’ve gotten through this book because the premise was so good and I loved the background we got on the FMC and the little bit I got through and found out about the MMC’s.

While I did enjoy the story, the non-binary and bisexual representation, and the sweet romance that was blooming, there was just a lot I was having trouble reading through to finish it out. The characters are in their 20’s so I don’t expect them to be perfect by any means, but as a 20-something myself, they were portrayed as a lot younger than they actually were. I felt like they were very childish at times and it didn’t seem like they had much “real world” experience. I was also not a fan of the FMC and MMC’s having gone through so much with previous relationships and “gold digging” partners only for the aunties to literally only care about how much money, status, and good careers the alphas they tried to pair Kai up with. It gave me the worst ick. I was also hoping to have gotten more classic OV content, but I felt like that aspect of the book didn’t really pop up or make a statement besides little snippets here and there. Lastly… I got through half the first spicy scene and couldn’t finish it. There was no vulnerability, it didn’t seem personal at all, and the whole thing was about cake ??? Literally, they bought a cake and while the MMC’s “ate” they fed her cake and she fed them cake. I read the word cake too many times to be comfortable. Idk, maybe it got better after that, but I just couldn’t force myself to read more.

Anyways, I do want to thank The Smuthood and the author for the free ecopy. I do wish I could’ve finished it out but this one just wasn’t for me.

ARC Review

The Wrong Pucking Omega is a total page-turner: hockey heat, spring break vibes, and a romance that builds with real emotion instead of just instant chemistry.

Kai comes to Nashville to take a break from her life, specifically to try to forget her ex. She isn’t looking for trouble, and she definitely isn’t looking for alphas. But one night in the hotel bar, she meets two alpha hockey players who are tied to a bet, and suddenly Kai is getting pulled into their world whether she wants to be or not.

What I loved most is how Kai handles it. She’s guarded at first, very much in I don’t need this mode, but the more time she spends with them, the more she starts to feel safe enough to soften. The days add up, the tension grows, and the romance becomes addictive, like you’re waiting for her to admit what her heart already knows.

And the pacing? Perfect. The book keeps delivering just enough surprises to keep me hooked, but it also focuses on the emotional payoff, what it means for Kai to choose what she wants instead of what she’s been running from.

There’s also something really satisfying about the way the story plays with expectations. The connection Kai has with these two heroes doesn’t feel forced, it feels inevitable in a way that’s both swoony and fun, with that this shouldn’t work… but it does energy.

By the time spring break ends and Kai has to face what comes next, I was fully invested. I laughed, I swooned, and I loved the way the relationship evolved into something deeper than a fling or a bet.

If you like hockey romances, bold alphas, strong heroine energy, and a satisfying wait… this is actually amazing kind of love story, this one is a must-read.

I will start out by saying that I was given an ARC copy to read and am giving my own opinion.
I really enjoyed and had fun reading this book! The aunties are everything and I low key wish that I had them as my aunties! They are unhinged, but in the best way possible; their forms of revenge against Kai’s (the main Omega character—they are non binary) ex is diabolical and brilliant! Kai’s ex totally deserved it, but they take revenge to another level! As you can probably tell, the aunties absolutely stole the show for me.
Steven, Ashton, and Kai have a fantastic relationship, even if it did happen relatively quickly. However, I believe in the philosophy of when you know, you know (in books, at least) and the characters had an obvious connection and sizzling chemistry from the start. I loved watching them slowly come together and figure out their relationship, especially since they originally started as a vacation fling.
While the story does cover some darker topics (such as abuse, neglectful parents, and dead parents), Jane (the author) does a fantastic job of keeping the story from being weighed down by it. The aunties also help with that, but it’s because they’re so diabolical that it made me laugh!
I absolutely enjoyed this story and would absolutely recommend it, especially if you love omegaverse, polyamory, hockey romances, vindictive/scheming aunties, and sweet cinnamon roll MMCs!
Thank you so much to Jane Handler and her team for letting me read the book! I really enjoyed it and appreciate the opportunity!

I received The Wrong Pucking Omega in return for an honest review.

Kai's boyfriend ditches her last minute to head off on vacation with her best friend and their friends. He even takes a new girl in her place leaving Kai behind and running off on the vacation she planned. Kai calls her auntie who swoops her away to Nashville and cancels all of her now ex's vacation. What should have been a heartbreaking week turns in new love when Kai meets Ashton and Steven two big hockey players.

Gosh I loved Kai so much they are such a great character and I found her refreshing as an Omega. Ashton and Steven complement each other and are just what Kai needs and was starts as sweet ends up turning into a whirlwind spicy week. I loved the relationship between the characters and felt like I could really connect with them all.

I've read every book by the author and in true fashion I devoured this one in just one reading session. I've got some pretty high expectations and the author exceeded them leaps and bounds. This is a beautifully written story that captured my heart as well as my imagination and I'm a little obsessed. However, I'm a huge fan of all the authors books but this may be my new favorite but don't tell the other books. I think Kai may just be my all time favorite omega she was unique and I just loved everything about her. Highly recommend if you enjoy why choose hockey romance.

This book immediately caught my interest, Kai is betrayed by her ex-alpha and her closest friends. Kai’s ex-alpha is a complete a-hole and her supposed friends suck just as much. The things they do and say about Kai were so terrible. Once Kai’s aunt Kiki catches wind of what’s happened, she comes in and immediately takes action against her ex-alpha and her ex-friends. Kai joins her aunties on their annual girls trip to Nashville. Her aunties are the best support system and they spoil Kai. Their meddling ways and antics were so hilarious, the aunties were probably one of the best parts of this book.

Stephen and Asher are professional hockey players, who play for scented scorpions in Nashville. Stephen ends up losing a bet to the team’s PR person which causes Stephen (and Asher) to show around an omega around Nashville while she’s in town. Kai meets Asher and Stephen at the bar of her hotel and they hit it off and agree to meet the next day. The rest of the book goes through Stephen and Asher showing Kai around Nashville and having a great time.

Once Kai leaves Nashville, I feel like the rest of the story was a bit rushed, and the epilogue even felt rushed. It left me wanting more insight to their relationship once they accepted and bonded with one another.

I had high expectations for this book, since it was an omega verse combined with a sports romance. But unfortunately, this book was just okay and as much as I wanted to like it, it just wasn’t for me.

Felt bad for Kai. Having to find out about her friends and boyfriend like that sucks. They all got what they deserved in the end.
Love love love auntie Kiki. She’s the best. All the aunties are meddlers, but I think aunt Kiki did the most. She especially didn’t let Kai’s ex off the hook. Kai has a wonderful support system, all the aunties, the cousins, some of the lab friends, Ashton and Steven. They are all there for Kai.

The days at the arboretum and zoo were cute. The playfulness between the three of them was adorable. It was fun to see that the guys went along with some of the things Kai did, like tree climbing and tag. I loved how it was only supposed to be a day of being shown around Nashville, but turned into the entire week. They got to know each other, have fun and laugh, and even had some spicy time. They all grew so fond of one another and when Kai had to go back home, they all were disappointed and sad. Although they had only known each other for a week their feelings for one another were really strong. I loved how they confessed their love for each other. After everything also had been through with the ex and ex friends and what they guys had been through with the last omega they dated, they all deserved to find happiness and love.

Even with the time differences and miles between them, they were able to make their relationship work. They all got the happy ending they deserved.

I had so much fun reading this book. This was my 2nd book I've read in the knotty pucking series. In this book we meet Kai who has just gone through a horrible breakup with her ex alpha and so called friends. She calls her family and they swoop in to help her get revenge and get out of the situation. In come the aunties that take her on their annual trip to Nashville to help get over the breakup. There she meets someone in a bar and asks for her and when the other girl leaves, she leaves her with a dragonfly hair clip. Up come 2 Alpha's (Steven & Ashton) who ask her to take her out on the town as they lost a bet and needed to take her on the town to help get over the breakup. Enter the next week of her trip of them spending everyday together and doing stuff that Kai would like. The guys teaching her about Hockey and bringing her and the aunties to a game where Kai learns that she was not the omega the guys were supposed to meet and thinks they will think differently of her. At the end of the week Kai leaves to go home but takes some of the guy's clothes as she wants to be with him but doesn't know how it will work and the guys are just as upset but promise to voice chat and video call until the end of the season. The story has a HEA and this is a comfy spice book that I would give 3/5 for spice. I can't wait to go back and read the rest of the books in this series as well now.

4.75 stars. This story is triple POV, well written, and a fast-paced, accidental meeting, recovery after toxic partner, contemporary ménage a trois omegaverse romance between Kai, the non-binary omega college student lead, and the male alpha professional ice hockey player partnered leads, Ashton and Steven. I adored the supportive families that both Ashton and Kai had. I enjoyed Kai’s study focus and her determination to continue her studies regardless of anything else. I enjoyed Steven’s enthusiastic approach to life and his willingness to try everything. I enjoyed Ashton’s more serious demeanour, and his deep emotions. I enjoyed the immediate chemistry between the trio, and the enjoyment they took in activities before proceeding to intimacy. I enjoyed the way Kai handled the situation with her ex-partner and ex-friends, and appreciated the acknowledgment that the way she was treated was literally criminal and should be handled as such. I enjoyed the consequences brought to bear on those deserving (and wish it happened more often in real life). This is the first story I’ve read by the author and I will absolutely be reading more! It was great fun, as well as emotionally engaging and satisfying.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

I really like how this book started. Kai is definitely a character for many to look up to. They were brave to stand up for themselves. I loved their aunties. I hate how she was treated by her boyfriend and supposed friends but this had been fate at work. At least she found out before bonding how terrible he was. Mistaken Identity can be a good thing sometimes and this story is a good example of such. Ashton and Steven were completely down to earth and I loved how they treated Kai and how they took them around the city to see the best places that would relate to what they enjoyed. The open communication and honesty between the three of them and how they all respected each other was very heart warming.
I really enjoyed reading this book and how the characters evolved. This felt well balanced with plot and spice. We got to really see guys playing hockey and get a true feel for this being a sports romance. Jane made sure that the characters all were respected in their careers and desires in life and that compromise goes with all parties. That love may bring challenges but true love and friendship are worth the hardships and battles. Between the main three and the friends, family and teammates. I highly recommend this book for all who enjoy the A/B/O worlds and sports (Hockey to be precise).
