Jason Curry does a great job tackling components of what it means to be committed and driven. I appreciated the succintness of what he had to say. (Sometimes leadership books tend to be verbose rather than to the point.) I also appreciate the fact that Curry had the “confront yourself” section at the back of each chapter so as to gauge where the reader is at personally with the focal points of the chapters. Finally, I also really appreciated his clear yet not in-your-face stance regarding his faith.

A great guide to being all God has created you to be!

As I began reading this book, I could not put it down! The wealth of advice is both practical and attainable for those who really want their life to count. I can’t wait to see the fruit in my own life through applying things I’ve learned from following Jason and from reading this book. I highly recommend!

I will preface this by saying I know Jason personally, he is a pastor at the church my husband and I attended for 14 years when we lived in Little Rock, AR. I’ve not heard Jason speak professionally but I have heard him preach many times and I’m sure the message is transferable. When he speaks you are left feeling motivated! He knows how to get under you and lift you up to want to do better and be better. I had hoped this would transfer to written word with his book and it does!

Finish Empty includes a lot of real life examples along with a ton of how-to information. This book is for anyone: athletes, blue collar workers, professionals, students, it doesn’t matter. If you get out of bed every day and wonder how you can succeed, you need this! Get you a notebook to go with it because it’s not a book you’ll sit down and blaze through in one reading. You’ll want to take notes, you’ll want to chew on the information and you’ll want to put it into practice.

My husband and I like to keep a handful of books around to give away for different purposes, such as:

“Fearless” by Eric Blehm
“Love & Respect” by Dr Emerson Eggerichs
“The Art of Raising a Puppy” by the Monks of New Skete

We’ve added Finish Empty to our bookshelf and already sent copies out to several people.

Finish Empty: All You Got. Every Day. by Jason Curry is a motivational guide that challenges readers to live with urgency, clarity, and purpose so that nothing is left undone at the end of life. Through three core pillars—the Finish Empty Mindset (shaping a vision and rejecting complacency), the Finish Empty Formula (defining priorities, building systems, and choosing the right people), and the Finish Empty Edge (discipline, resilience, and focus)—Curry offers both inspiration and practical strategies to maximize each day. Woven with real-life examples, actionable tools, and reflection prompts, the book serves as a roadmap for anyone who wants to silence distractions, overcome excuses, and consistently give their best so they can truly “finish empty.”

Finish Empty isn’t just a book—it’s a mindset, a framework, and a GPS for navigating life with purpose.

It’s packed with so many solid nuggets of wisdom, I found myself highlighting full pages. Not fluff—real, actionable clarity.

What I love most is how it’s structured. You’re not just reading—you’re working through your own plan as you go. It’s not theory; it’s execution.

Can’t wait to see what Jason Curry puts out next. He’s onto something big.

I thought this book was going to be about the Christian life, like Steve Farrar’s “Finishing Strong.” Instead this is a self improvement book, try harder, do the hard things, trust yourself. Things will work out for the best because you tried hard.
Those things are false.
