Needs some work

These books have a great story to them. The execution is just not quite what it could be.
If you combined books 1 and 2, this might feel like a full installment in the story. As they are, it sort of feels like we reach the rising action phase in the story, and the only resolution the author could find was to end the book. This leaves the story feeling incomplete and not in a cliffhanger kind of way. This feels more like a net galley installment story where you get bits of a full book here and there until you finally have a full story.
That said, the story has great bones, an amazing premise, and room to grow into something pretty cool. I'll read the next installment when it comes, though I do hope we get a bit more to the story in the next one.

Women Rock!

In a broken world, women are not seen or heard. Royals scheme constantly, caring nothing for those beneath them. But they chose the wrong woman this time to use for their nefarious plans. I look forward to finding out how she takes the wind from their sails.

I wanted to like this because I liked the first one and the queen trials. There was so much AI writing in it that I couldn’t bring myself to keep going. It sounded sooooooo AI that it got aggravating.

Gripping series

Can't put it down, even to sleep. Excited to see how it ends and hoping the author releases another book soon.

More excitement for Abra!

This book does not stop, it is constant psychological (and occasionally physical) tension that doesn’t stop. Our heroine can never catch a break and we follow her peril at every turn. If you love boats and the water, there are some beautiful depictions of being on ship, and some of the allegory between rival factions and modern American policy might make your heart hurt. I read it straight through.
