What happens when a sunshine soul collides with a storm?
Samira Sharma is all heart—bubbly, passionate, and a little too honest for her own good. Abhishek Malhotra is the exact opposite—cold, calculated, and hiding scars behind his unreadable expressions. She believes in fairy tales. He doesn't even believe in love.
Thrown together in the chaos of an advertising agency, sparks fly—the kind that burn, not the romantic ones. Or so they think. From office banter to late-night breakdowns, jealousy-fueled fights to stolen glances, their story unfolds one unlikely moment at a time.
This is not just a love story. It’s about healing, hope, and a connection that grows through cracks, not perfection.
A laugh-out-loud, heartwarming Hinglish romance that feels real, raw, and unforgettable. Perfect for readers who believe that the best love stories are the ones we never see coming.
From Cold Stares to Forever by Samarjeet Kaur, is a cute, funky, work place romance story.
This Book is about Samira, a quirky and fun-loving employee and Abhishek, allegedly cold Ceo, who were bound to do a project together. Surely, they started on a wrong foot but slowly and steady everything worked out in their favor. They became 'from not so typical enemies, to friends and then lovers and eventually spouses. The story was refreshing, funny and gives full on desi vibes.
📍But however, I felt the romance part was a little off, as everything happened so fast like their interaction , falling in love and confessions that I felt the world building was missing somewhere. The romance between two protagonist was so little and I wanted more. Most of the parts were less descriptive, due to that the depth of this story could not shine properly.
✨But if you are up for a light and something new then this might resonate with you. The cute banter between the two characters might win your heart. If you love such things they i would suggest you to go for it !
I loved how the author describes the struggles a PCOD suffering woman in the Indian society as she navigates her marriage life and pregnancy. Samira is also depicted as a strong willed boss lady, a clumsy yet responsible eldest sibling. I liked how the author says that, it's okay to sometimes, be weak, vulnerable and seek assistance of a loved one; which I find to be relatable with all the strong willed women out there.
Their relationship, albeit full of imperfections, gives a homey vibe to romance loving readers. The couple continues to strive and grow together, emotionally and in their careers despite all the hurdles that come along their way.
This was nothing short of a cozy read. As a kid, I used to watch romantic serials on Star One with bubbly heroine and wound up hero. It’s of the same genre. This has the potential to be adapted as a rom-com.
Special thanks to the author for the advance copy!
From Cold Stares to Forever made me feel a whirlwind of emotions—laughter, empathy, and even a little tear here and there. Samira’s bubbly, honest spirit really resonated with me; she reminded me of those bright, unapologetic people who light up every room they enter, even if life hasn’t always been kind. Conversely, Abhishek’s guarded, stoic exterior struck a chord—sometimes, we hide our scars so well that others only see the surface. Their dynamic felt incredibly real, and I found myself rooting for both of them to find their way through the cracks.
On a thoughtful note, I appreciated how the author masterfully explored themes of healing, hope, and imperfect love. The way their personalities clash and gradually intertwine is both entertaining and meaningful. The writing style is refreshingly candid—full of Hinglish humor and raw honesty—that makes the story feel authentic and engaging. I liked how the narrative doesn’t rush the emotional journey; instead, it unfolds naturally through office banter, late-night confessions, and stolen glances, making every moment believable and relatable. It’s about learning to accept ourselves and others, flaws and all, which I think is a message many of us need today.
I want to acknowledge the effort behind this book. The characters are well-developed, each with their own scars and dreams, which adds depth to the story. The structure is fluid, blending humor and heartfelt moments seamlessly, so you’re never overwhelmed—just carried along by the genuine chemistry and the honest portrayal of their growth. The tone is respectful and compassionate, emphasizing that love isn’t about perfection, but about embracing each other’s cracks and imperfections.
Personally, I found myself smiling at the funny banter and nodding at the heartfelt truths. It reminded me that sometimes, the most unexpected connections come from the places we least expect—like an office chaos or a moment of vulnerability. This book isn’t just a romance; it’s a celebration of hope, resilience, and the idea that healing can happen when we least think to look for it.
All in all, From Cold Stares to Forever is a warm, funny, and deeply human story that shows us love’s power to transform even the coldest hearts. If you believe that the best love stories are the ones that surprise us and teach us to become better versions of ourselves, this book is a must-read. It’s a beautiful reminder that sometimes, the greatest love stories happen when we let go of perfection and embrace the cracks.
This is the first time I’ve read a story woven in a blend of Hindi and English and it feels like a whispered diary entry between friends. The author opens the door to her vulnerability before the plot even begins as messy grammar, tangled sentences and all and I loved it because it’s not a disclaimer—it’s a dare. A dare to read with your heart, not with your red pen. This raw sincerity becomes the emotional compass of the story, inviting readers to feel more deeply, forgive more freely and connect more honestly.
At the heart of this desi rom-com is Abhishek Malhotra- Mr Rude & Hot ,a CEO wrapped in cold stares and sharp suits. He doesn’t speak his feelings—he performs them. Through date nights, roses, and quiet acts of listening, his love language is restraint. Samaira Sharma, the clumsy dreamer with filmy chaos and emotional clarity, doesn’t just challenge him—she softens him, scene by scene.
Every spill and silence carries weight.Their journey begins with workplace tension ,slowly unfolding into something tender. Not through grand declarations but through quiet gestures: a planned date night, a soft apology, a moment of listening when words fail. Samaira doesn’t melt Abhishek—she mirrors him, challenges him.
From jewellery shoots shimmering with unsaid longing to small fights that crack open deeper truths, each moment is emotionally choreographed. Jealousy isn’t petty—it’s proof of care. And the smirks? They’re love letters in disguise.
Their chemistry is cinematic. The fights reveal vulnerability and the chaos is sacred
This isn’t a polished love story.
For readers who crave emotional depth, desi chaos and characters who love in silence and sass—this one’s yours ❤️

My thoughts:
✨This is my first Hinglish book by the debut author Samarjeet Kaur ✨The character's are well portrayed. ✨The nok-johk and understanding between protagonists Samira and Abhishek is epic. ✨Abhishek is full on green forest. ✨Taking the sensitive topics like PCOD, panic attack, claustrophobia, anxiety, overthinking and writing about them Kudos to the author. ✨The struggles that a person go-through with these things is very well written with raw emotions. ✨ This story is the best example of When the right person enters your life, the wall we have built around us slowly disappears and we fall head over heels for them & we never see it coming. ✨This book is a perfect mixture of raw emotions, flirting, banter, romance, family drama, reality-checks and a hint of spice.
Fav Quotes:
❣️ "Distance could never dilute what fate had already sealed." ❣️"Pagal ho tum.... Par meri favourite wali pagal." ❣️"Kabhi-kabhi, kuch khushiyan waqt pe nahi aati. Par agar ek dusre ka saath ho... tho waqt ka intezaar bhi manageable ban jaata hai."
"From Cold Stares to Forever" is a sweet, light-hearted romance novel that perfectly fits into the “enemies to lovers” trope, with just the right blend of nok-jhok, workplace tension, and slow-burning chemistry. "From Cold Stares to Forever" is a fun and sweet love story. The story is about Abhishek Malhotra, a cold and serious CEO, and Samaira, a smart and independent girl who loves her career.
At first, they don’t like each other and always fight at work. But one day, over a cup of coffee, they start becoming friends. Slowly, their friendship turns into love.
The book has many cute, funny, and emotional moments. You will smile while reading their (little fights) and feel happy when their love story grows. The book also shows some real challenges of working life, but in a light and easy way.
Samarjeet Kaur has written this book in simple language, using a mix of Hindi and English, which makes it very easy to read and connect with. The characters feel real, and the love story moves at a nice pace.
What I liked: *Funny and sweet office fights *Strong female character *Easy Hinglish language *Light comedy and drama *Feel-good love story
Final Thought: If you enjoy simple, romantic stories with fun and drama, this book is a great choice. It’s perfect for a relaxing read and will leave you with a smile.
“From Cold Stare to Forever” is that rare kind of story that feels chaotic, sweet, and beautifully real all at once 💫. The banter between Samira and Abhishek had me smiling nonstop 😍 sharp, sarcastic, and yet full of hidden warmth. Their connection grew quietly through coffee breaks ☕, playful arguments 😌, and those soft, wordless moments that said everything 💞. And that Gurudwara scene? Absolutely precious 🥹❤️ simple, heartfelt, and unforgettable.
What really stood out to me was the authenticity 🌸. These weren’t perfect characters trying to live a fairytale; they were clumsy, dramatic, and utterly human 💭, and that made their love story so raw and enchanting. You could feel the tension, the vulnerability, and the slow blooming of trust with every page 🥰. It wasn’t about grand gestures, but about the small things the glances, the silences, the laughter that lingers ✨.
If I had one tiny wish, it would be for a bit more intimacy between the leads 😳, just a few extra moments to let their emotions breathe. Still, the fast-paced writing, vivid sensory details, and emotional honesty made this such an engaging read 📖. If you’re someone who lives for slow-burn romances with sass, tenderness, and that perfect mix of chaos and comfort 💕, this book is a must read!! 🌷🔥
From Cold Stares to Forever is a romance that shines with wit, warmth, and charm. At its heart is Samaira—a cheerful, lively strategist who lights up every page. Her first meeting with Mr. Abhishek Malhotra, the not-so-affluent yet arrogant and hyper-professional CEO, is absolutely iconic. From their boardroom clash to playful banter over coffee, their chemistry is undeniable.
The story strikes a perfect balance between office politics and tender emotions. Their banter feels fresh and flirty, making the slow-burn romance irresistible. Abhishek’s arrogance, pride, and sharp professionalism only make his eventual softening toward Samaira all the more swoon-worthy.
What I loved most was how their relationship bloomed from cold stares into forever love, proving that the best romances often begin in the most unexpected places. While the dialogues occasionally felt a little manuscript-like, they still carried weight and emotion.
Overall, a fabulous read for fans of iconic first meetings, witty banter, and office romances that melt into something unforgettable. Highly recommend!
The author mentioned in her author notes that the book is “raw and unpolished,” and it is indeed a raw version.
However, that did not stop me from understanding and enjoying the story.
Most of the book is in Hindi, which was a challenge for me since I am not very fluent. I had to rely on Google Translate and a friend’s help to fully understand the dialogues and nuances, but it was worth it.
The humor, the small everyday moments, and the emotional beats came through beautifully despite the language barrier.
What I absolutely loved was the chemistry between Abhishek and Samira.
Their banter, teasing, the way they clash and yet connect, is charming and feels very real.
The story reads more like a personal diary or a glimpse into their daily lives than a traditional plot-driven romance, giving it a cozy and intimate vibe.
If you are looking for a story that focuses on character moments, emotions, and a sweet slow-burn connection rather than twists and turns, this book will definitely charm you.
The book is about two characters which is deferent from eachother but still has soul connection.
A story about Mr. Rude Malhotra and Ms. Clumsy baby
The book is easy to read and understand it starts with enemies to love trope And the narrative perfectly balanced workplace rivalry with genuinely sweet unexpected moments.
The thing which makes this story truly addictive is the emotions and understanding between both characters. The story hold the romance drama and the possessive kind of love that makes it even hottest.
The chemistry between both characters is so sweet and perfectly defined and their small arguments describes it more than fictional If you're looking for an intense emotionally charged romance where characters have to fight for their happy ending and a tough of sass, jealousy, deep devotion this story about building a home in eachother's Arms is one of those you shouldn't miss.
And if you also face PCOD in your life than you should read this for sure.
A love story that is really real and raw - love, fights, arguments. It has every detail of a relationship.
The first thing I liked about them is ofcourse their "nok-jhok." And gradually they just melted towards each other. They are so adorable when they throwing sarcasm on each other.
Every moment, every scenes written too beautifully. While reading her book, it doesn't feel like I am reading, it seems like I am watching a movie.
The writing is too raw—part hindi part english it's a fantastic combo, only Indian readers can relate.
There are so many scenes I love, I wish I could highlight the whole book, but her birthday scene is my top favorite.
This is the first book where I smile a lot while reading it. Samira is a pure "Lioness vibes—savage girl." I really love her. And you should have added bonus chapter in the main manuscript. Because the spicy scenes.....were just perfect.
Thank you so much for writing this book. You are a great writer.
A story that starts with a spilled coffee and ends with a heart full of emotions. “Coffee, Chaos & Corporate Hearts” isn’t just another office romance — it’s a journey of two opposites learning, healing, and growing together.
Samira, a strong yet sensitive brand strategist, and Abhishek, her stoic CEO, collide in a world ruled by deadlines and egos. Their banter, their quiet care, and their gradual understanding make you believe that love doesn’t always need grand gestures — sometimes, it’s about simply showing up.
The way PCOD and emotional burnout are portrayed feels honest and relatable. And Abhishek’s unwavering support through her vulnerable moments makes this story even more heartwarming.
It’s witty, real, and full of “I’ve felt that” moments — the kind that stay long after you close the book. A warm cup of comfort for every reader who believes in love that understands before it speaks.
It's such a cute, breezy little escape that I honestly enjoyed more than I expected. The Hinglish narration? LOVED. It gave the entire story that warm, relatable desi vibe that feels like you're listening to two coworkers argue over chai. The banter, the tiny office moments, the little sparks made the book feel fun and incredibly easy to read.
I personally wished for a bit more buildup in the romance. Samira and Abhishek go from cold stares to soft feels very quickly, and my slow-burn-loving heart wanted more tension, more emotional layering, more space for their relationship to grow. Not a flaw, it's just a preference. The book still has charm, heart, and moments that genuinely made me smile.
Overall, it's a sweet, lighthearted, drama free romance that does exactly what it promises: makes you feel good. A really solid debut with so much potential. Perfect for readers who love Hinglish stories, soft chemistry, and comforting reads. ✨📚💗
This book was such a pleasant surprise 💌. What starts as a typical opposites-attract setup between Samira and Abhishek quickly turns into a story filled with warmth, tension, and a touch of everyday magic. Samira is all heart expressive, determined, and strong while Abhishek brings the perfect dose of broody calm. Watching their cold stares melt into something softer was easily my favorite part.
The writing flows beautifully and keeps the pace lively, sometimes a little too fast (I definitely wished for a few more moments between the leads!). Still, the chemistry, witty banter, and emotional beats make it worth the read. The foodie details, coffee, samosas, desserts gave it a cozy, real-life feel I absolutely loved.
A lovely debut filled with spark, sass, and heart. Big thanks to the author, and congratulations on your first novel! 🌸
"I’m very much in limits, Mr. Malhotra. I’m just not in a cage. You asked for creativity—I’m offering perspective. If all you want is blind obedience, say that up front." 🔥👏
Samira is bold, witty, and unapologetically herself 💃. I wish I could be a no-nonsense, fearless girl like her…
And Abhishek—just like a coconut 🥥. Hard outside, soft inside. The way he plans date nights made my heart melt 😭💘.
Their opposite personalities made their story perfect. Their banter 🫶, their chemistry 🔥, their fights (the cutest ever 🥺). I love them so, so much. 💕
Samira Sharma is sunshine☀️- clumsy, bubbly, and way too honest for her own good. On the other hand, Abhishek is the definition of cold stares❄️- the kind of man who hides his feelings behind sharp words and a straight face. Together? Total fireworks. The banter, the sarcasm, the talks, confessions—it all felt so real, like watching two completely opposite people slowly realize they can’t live without each other.
What I loved most was that the book wasn’t just about romance. It touched on real struggles like PCOD and anxiety, showing how love isn’t just about dreamy moments, but also about holding someone through their toughest days. 💗
Reading it felt like sitting with a hot cup of coffee— warm, comforting and cozy!! ☕🫶🏻
Okay, I had left my Wattpad era so long ago, but this... this book took me right back to those days when I used to read Wattpad stories, full of chaos, love, jokes, and warm narrations 💗
The way the author wrote this story is just so perfect, so raw, so real. I was completely engulfed in her writing that I couldn’t stop reading it!!! It’s a soft, heart melting romance that will make you smile, blush, and feel butterflies all over your body 😭🫶🏻
Abhishek and Samira calm and chaos, clumsy and rude, and ,their adorable office romance!! It’s a cute enemies to lovers story (my absolute favorite trope 😭🤍) and I enjoyed every single part of it!!
If you’re looking for a cute, cozy read that feels like a warm hug, go read this one, girls!!!I promise you won’t regret it 😭🎀
3.5 stars, rounded up Special thanks to the author for the book!
You know those stories that remind you of your own brain? That was me with Samira. Her clumsy, bubbly, overthinking self? Felt a little too familiar sometimes 😭
The book had a really fun tone throughout, the humor definitely made it more enjoyable, and I actually caught myself thinking, “This would make such a good desi rom-com series.” Like it would be perfect on Sony Liv lol 😂
What I appreciated most was the natural progression of the romance. It wasn’t rushed, there was actual space given for them to become friends first. That made the dynamic feel believable and sweet.
My first ever book that I read in Hinglish - (hindi + english ) can I say I loved the concept 🤌🏻 . A bollywood nerd like me who love drama and emotions , loved this book . This book was written for bollywood geeks like me . The FMC (samira) is mirror image of me and the MMC (Abhishek) is a dreamed man honestly 😄 . My heart skipped a beat when he said - " Kya kar rhi ho tum mujhme samira " like wow man .
Final verdict - If you love enemies to lovers trope , you'll love this book . (Just go and read the damn book ) 🤎
This was a decent weekend -type read, but what really stood out to me were the individual characters. Samira and Abhishek felt vivid and easy to picture, and their banter was my favourite part.
Since it’s written in Hinglish, my reading pace was slower than usual, but it does add to the authenticity. If you’re looking for a desi romcom with a subtle spice level, this ticks the box. The Delhi references throughout? Absolutely spot on you can almost feel the city as you read.
The book truly has the whole package— from their first meeting to the spark of attraction, from love to everything that comes in between: families, managing a relationship amidst tough schedules, playful banters, fights, pampering, relentless support, and every little thing that makes a bond feel real. Abhishek, though grumpy, is the ultimate green flag we all need, while Samira brings her own flair of drama and spice, making them absolutely perfect.
A beautiful blend of humor, heartbreak, and healing. Samarjeet Kaur captures the messiness of love so honestly that I found myself smiling, tearing up, and rooting for Samira and Abhishek the whole way through. It’s rare to find a romance that feels this real and still leaves your heart warm at the end. Absolutely loved it!
