Red is living life in the spotlight, a place she always dreamed of. Stripping was a way of escaping from her past, and it was something she was well-known for. But, Red’s fight to remain queen isn’t the only battle she’s facing. And when the war against her addiction is won, it’s not in her favor. Facing three to five years in a federal penitentiary, Red feels like her life is over. But, just like he always does, Luke Carmical, her childhood best friend, comes to the rescue. Only this time, he’s brought Devil’s Renegades Regg with him. Having no other option, Red is forced to spend the next ninety days in a place she’s never been and in the care of a man she hardly knows. Spending three months of her life on a secluded farm turns out to be a lot more than Red bargained for. Because, it’s there that Regg stands by her side through endless hours of withdrawal, constant mood swings and restless pacing. It’s there that the MC family reminds her of their loyalty and respect. And it’s there she learns that hitting rock bottom, doesn’t keep you from falling…in love.

What I Liked:

- Regg's unwavering support for Red. He does everything in his power to help her overcome her addiction and his faith in her was sweet to read about.

- They had some cute moments. Mostly when they were cuddling in bed, but that's about it.

What I Didn't Like:

- The first time they had sex. It was SO unromantic. I was so disappointed, I wanted more for them.

- I didn't like the direction the story took in the last 10%.

When I first saw the blurb for this book, I was a little hesitant in purchasing due to the whole addicted/stripper theme. I am really glad that I took the chance and read it. I loved the dynamics between Red and Regg, and the way he cared for her was just perfect. And I just can't go without mentioning her best friend, Luke. Luke is just the perfect guy, loyal, trustworthy, and baaadass!!! I do have to say that at about 60% I predicted most of the rest. I was disappointed in Red and how throughout the ENTIRE book the MC was loyal to her and helped her in every single aspect of her recovery, yet when faced with drama from her past, Red decides to take matters into her own hands instead of relying on the 2 very capable men and the MC to help her. That was stupid and unbelievable and didn't blend with what the author had been portraying throughout the first
60% of the book. And what the hell happened to Luke??? He was Red's rock, her go to, and he just basically disappeared. That also didn't mesh with the Luke the author portrayed in the first half of the book. All that being said I really enjoyed this book and will read more from this author.

Red
By: Kim Jones
4/5 stars

This is the story of Red and Regg of the Devil’s Renegades. For those who have read the Saving Dallas trilogy by this author, this book is like the prequel since it’s the story of how Red & Regg met and how they came to be together. We do see the bada$$ hottie, Luke Carmical aka LLC, since he has been best friends with Red since they were in school together. But this book doesn’t go any further into the future past her finally becoming Regg’s Old Lady, therefore we don’t see Dallas at all.

Red is a stripper and the best around. But she has to fight to stay on top, and that’s a hard thing to do when you’re also an addict. But after a while she doesn’t even try to fight her addiction anymore and just gives in and goes whole hog. But the thing with drugs is that eventually you are a slave to them and your addiction. You may be making good money, but if you’re blowing it all up your nose, you’re left with nothing.

Regg happens to be with Luke the first time he ever meets Red and it is while she is at her job at the strip club. Red feels a stirring attraction to him, that she doesn’t feel towards other hot guys and immediately he is taken by her beauty and fierceness. He knows that he wants her, but the logistics just don’t work in his favor until later.

While reading this, you’ll see why people dislike junkies and how their families and friends can turn away from them after being hurt by them so many times. Even if the junkie wants their loved ones around them or to stick by them, they knowingly hurt them, so they don’t catch on to the drug habit and problem.

We get to see several of the other supporting characters that were also in the Saving Dallas books and it was pretty fun to see them. But I did miss Dallas. And I think that is why some parts of this story seemed to drag & I was ready to get to the end of this book.

There was a time that the author used characters & then used them later on in the book, and it was supposed to be the first time that she was meeting them.

**Carla's Five Star Review**

Warning-this book deals with some mature subject matter, so anyone under the age of 18 should not read it!!
I am addicted to MC books, so I was beyond excited to read this one! Regg is a hot alpha male biker who has a heart of gold underneath all that leather that he wears! He can go from sugary sweet to complete bad a** in a New York minute! And Red? Lord, that girl is a hot mess! She has one heck of a sassy attitude! I guess it is a good thing that Regg likes his women with a little bit of bite! Seriously though, after seeing how much Red grew as a person throughout the story, it was obvious that Regg was exactly who she needed in her life.

I really did enjoy this book! It is well written, and the characters are amazing! If you are looking for a great MC read that will elicit a myriad of emotions from you look no further!!

This book was just OK for me. Naturally, there is nothing pretty about the details of being a drug addict and then trying to come off of drugs. But I felt like the growing relationship btwn Reg and Red took a back seat to her addiction and I was more interested in the relationship. Their first time was anything but sexy or romantic and it just set the tone for a ho hum reading experience for the remainder of the book. Had a lot of potential just didn't work for me. 3 sad sack stars

Kim Jones and Red, a GREAT 5⭐ read that I couldn't put down. This is one of those stories that you get wrapped up in immediately and you can't put down. Fabulous story, great characters, and a relationship that you want to cheer for.

Kim Jones includes perfect detail in her blurbs so I won't recap in my review. If you like to read about the MC life, a strong woman doing things her way and life, give this awesome story a go.

At times this was a difficult read but it's really good. Red has hit rock bottom, she's struggling but she's not in denial she just can't stop. Enter Regg, he's wanted Red from the moment they met, he takes advantage of the situation his aim is to get her clean and show her they belong together. The story is done brilliantly with characters you'll know if you've read Saving Dallas.

One of my NEWEST favorites...

Have a lot of "favorite" authors, some I read every once in a while and others religiously, and they are the ones I get as soon as they hit the 1click option. It's amAzing on how many of them I am finding and now want to read asap. I have about 25 books on my kindle and I don't know which one to read first. This author is not new to me per say, but I have just now realised what I have been missing with not ordering ALL of her books. This is a great story with real life problems. Loved it. Cannot wait to meet the author behind the words. Lady you rocked this one!!!!

A lot of the time, my "reviews" are less of a review per se and more a collection of notes that I write for myself so that I can remember what happens in each story, along with what I liked, disliked, had questions about, favorite parts, etc. I have a TBI and otherwise my memory will not serve me. Others may not find them helpful, just as a disclaimer.

I read the Saving Dallas trilogy years ago, and Clubwhore yesterday... but I wanted to go back to the beginning. And here we are.

I enjoyed the real way they described addiction. I laughed when Red fell "out of the tree". I was charmed by sweet 16 year old Todd. I cried when she broke Regg's heart, and her own. I cheered when Regg beat Chip within an inch of his life. I hope Shawn/Shark got drafted into the Devils- he earned it.

I loved it. I hated it. I laughed. I cried. There were times I set it down and glared at it while I gripped my skull because TELL HIM THE TRUTH RED, DONT LET HIM LEAVE! But I immediately snatched it back up because Kim *CANNOT* leave it like that.

Luckily, I was right and she didn't.

This book takes you on a young woman's journey from being an orphan,a stripper, and a drug addict. It's the typical bad childhood leads to a destructive adulthood. Red aka Denny Deen was abused, put thru the horrible foster care system, only to be left on her own. Wanting her independence, she turns to exotic dancing where she gets the approval and acceptance she always wanted. Her childhood friend and "brother" Luke has seen her thru everything. He also happens to be a member of the Devil's Renegade MC, and is in line with a lethal drug cartel in New Orleans. Enter Regg, Luke's MC brother and BFF. There is a spark between him and Red, but she's promised Luke she won't get involved with his club. Red attempts to numb her loneliness and depression by using drugs. She gets so strung out, she walked the streets half naked and got arrested. Luke and Regg come to the rescue, keeping her out of jail and getting her clean. Red learns the true meaning of family when the entire club rallies around her. She and Regg bond over getting and keeping her sober.

I like how Red isn't perfect, she makes plenty of mistakes, and doesn't apologize for them. She's not ashamed of what she does, she enjoys dancing. Usually strippers strip as a means to get somewhere or do something else, but not Red. She loves the attention and infamy.

Eventually one of Red's not too friendly acquaintances blackmail her into dancing at his club. Chad is a sleazy low life who threatens Red's shot at happiness. Regg is out of his mind worrying, trying to get her back, but Red can't risk putting him or his family in danger. Both try to resign themselves to their fate, but some unlikely help steps in to get Red out. Regg also gets the club involved to find Red and bring her home. Their reunion is very sweet, as is their HEA -club style.

One I wasn’t looking forward to reading but I did find it interesting nonetheless. The running theme of Luke being some kind of superhero for these girls (being Maddie, Red and Dallas) is a fucking joke to me. I much prefer Reggie. Red has an addiction and she is a damn good stripper. She has had a tough life but remains friends with Luke and when shit gets really bad, in-the-courthouse bad, she is directed under the care of Reggie, Luke’s BFF, and something or other in the MC. This was a slow burn of a relationship, with obvious attraction at the beginning. But I really liked the struggle depicted in this story it felt deep and meaningful and I appreciated it. There is so much love here.

description

It takes a while for them to act on their personal attraction and they are both quite jealous but not a lot. My favourite scene is where Reggie finally tells her he loves her, I thought that was the cutest fucking scene ever. Of course a few spanners are thrown into the works, they are ripped apart for a while and some of the scenes broke my heart there. I could not imagine what it is like to be an addict, to suffer withdrawals and to have to begin at day one if you ever relapsed. It sounds like a nightmare and a constant battle and I had a lot of respect for Red which is interesting because I didn’t like her very much in any of the other books.

I loved Kim’s Saving Dallas series and when I saw this one, I knew it was a must read. This is the prequel telling the story of how Red and Regg met and fell in love. Red was a stripper and an addict but from the time Regg and Red met, you could feel the sparks fly!!

As Red was arrested and sentenced, Regg saved the day and helped her in every way possible. I really fell for Regg in this book because he was such a strong man and was really her rock who was so patient with her. I loved how loyal he was to the club but I really enjoyed getting into his personal life and seeing how different he was from the big bad tough biker.

We also met Luke and learned how Red and Luke became such good friends. He is so loyal to her and is the kind of friend everyone needs. Red certainly doesn’t make it easy for Luke or Regg but neither one is willing to back down and that was what Red needed to survive. I liked seeing how much Red changed throughout this book and Regg and Red were definitely destined to be together!!

Red is at the bottom. She's not sure how it all fell out from under her but the lights on stage don't shine for her any more. Her brother Luke is trying to save her but only one man can, Regg.
This story has an unlikely heroine who comes to terms that only she can bring herself back out from the darkness. One thing I did like about this story was how Red fought. She was a well written character.
Regg had so many layers that I didn't expect. He was strong, silent, and ready to fight for Red. Even when things were stacked against his hopes, he eventually sees the truth to fight for Red.
I liked all the characters and it was a great introduction to them all. I did find it a bit slow for me in the beginning but it picked up after about 100 pages in. I also felt the ending was rushed with the resolution. I don't know, I just wanted a bit more when Red was found. That said, I would recommend this book and hope you find a new author to enjoy like I did.

OMG! Kim, you did it again! This book was sooo good! I loved Red in the Saving Dallas Trilogy but now I love her even more! It was awesome reading about her back story! My poor heart broke for her and Regg over and over! And speaking of Regg, man he reminds me of my hubby so much! Sometimes after reading a good scene between Red and Regg, I would go climb up in my hubby's lap and just swoon over him a little bit! At first he did have a clue what I was doing but after a few times he would say, "Regg remind you of me again?", and I would just nod my head and smile and he would just roll his eyes! Ha! Anyhow this is a beautiful story that reminds us that no matter where we come from or how bad our life is, we can change that and there is someone out there for us who is willing to be there for us and love us through it all! We all deserve a love like Red and Regg's! Red and Regg forever!!!

♥️🌼🔥RED AND REGG ARE MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS IN THIS SERIES♥️🌼🔥
After reading 5 books by Kim Jones, I know, now, when reading her books, I’m going to get a good book, relatable characters, down to earth dialogue, authenticity and her unique sense of humor....With RED, I feel like I got so much more....♥️🌼🔥
I fell in love with Red and Regg in SAVING DALLAS, and I have only grown to love them more in every book...But, RED is more like a prequel to the series, because it gives us a look at how Red and Regg first got together and all they’ve been through to be together......And they are REALLY HOT!!! ♥️🌼🔥
RED is more intense in its subject matter, but I laughed, “He could have said I taste like Diet Pepsi...Nobody likes that $#it “ and I cried...and I felt every other emotion...The love of this couple is almost tangible....It’s a good book, and I love Red and Regg more now than ever...♥️🌼🔥

I just want to start off by saying WOW!!

This book has it all! Sex, Drugs, killing, humor and lastly Romance!

It's about facing your fears and trusting another person with everything!

Red and Regg are by far my favorite couple. They had me laughing when Red was trying to get Regg to say I Love U. I also cryied when she told him she didn't love him. But don't worry she was lying to protect him. If u read this be prepared. It's an emotional roller coaster!! Enjoy the ride! Watch out for the chickens!!

I read the Saving Dallas series a long time ago and wish I could remember where this story fits within that time line.
Regg wanted Red the moment that he saw her but her love was for drugs. She is an unlikable character for me. Even when she wasn't drugged up she was a bitch. Regg definitely needed someone better than her but NOT Taylor.
I hate when the heroin gives into the bully instead of telling the hero what is going on. I know it's all for the story but sometimes its just utter bull shit.

I'm kinda ashamed to admit but this one has been on my kindle for over 4 years. For the life of me I don't know why I never read it before. Wow!! It's one of those books once you start reading you don't put it down until the end. Loved Red and Regg's story. It's like a second chance at life for Red and a first chance at love. The journey of being a stripper, hitting rock bottom and meeting Regg who becomes her savior, the constant in her life. A heartbreaking story that will have you laughing and crying. Would recommend.
