King of Ashes is the 4th and final book in the Kingdom of Sinners series that follows the Ifrinn brothers. This one follows the oldest brother Phoenix and Kiera Kean.
Throughout the series we see how each brother dealt with their loss, hate, revenge and even unexpected love. While they all faced their own darkness Phoenix had a harder time
dealing with his hate especially when Kiera the girl he loved before his life was literally burned to the ground was served up to him on a silver platter. Now he had the perfect way to fuel his hate and cruelty but at what cost? Will who he turned into destroy everything that could of been?

Nope.

Nicknames/terms of endearments:
Princess (which is not formatted correctly), sweetheart

As with most KU authors, this author doesn't know how to format terms of endearment correctly. PSA to the author: terms of endearment are not capitalized unless their placement in a sentence warrants it.
Correct: "Here, drink this princess."
Not correct: "Here, drink this Princess."

He burned her world to the ground. She hid the one thing that could bring him to his knees.

Keira thought her past was dead and buried. Ten years ago, the boy she loved was consumed in a fire that wiped out his entire family. She was forced into silence, exiled across the ocean, and told to forget him. But secrets like hers don’t stay buried forever.

Phoenix rose from the ashes with a single mission: revenge. Now the man who once held her heart has returned to destroy everything she has left. He takes her home, her freedom, and makes a cruel proposal. What he doesn’t know is that she’s already guarding something far more precious than her pride.

When Phoenix discovers the daughter he never knew existed, the game changes. The man who once ruled through fire and fury now has something to lose. As past betrayals crash into the present, Keira and Phoenix are forced to confront the truth. Pain still lingers. Trust is shattered. But something fierce still burns between them.

Both Keira and Phoenix evolve from emotionally wounded individuals driven by pain and loss to more complex characters confronting their past and choosing how to move forward. Keira grows stronger and more assertive, while Phoenix slowly lets go of his rage as he reconnects with his daughter and faces the consequences of his actions. Their relationship shifts from love to hatred to a reluctant alliance, eventually finding fragile ground for trust and healing.

A steamy, dark, enemies to lovers, second chance, Bratva romance, exploring revenge, love, betrayal, power, family, control, identity, redemption, trauma, and forgiveness. It's about love twisted by vengeance, families torn by power, and the fragile path toward redemption.

King of Ashes is the last installment in the Kingdom of Sinners series featuring Phoenix Ifrinn and his once long ago secret love interest Keira Kean.

We all know at this point the feud between the Ifrinn family and the Kean family runs deep. The Kean’s killed the Ifrinn’s parents and they’re making their stand against the Kean’s. As the oldest, Phoenix is essentially in charge and has the Kean parents detained downstairs in the basement. The mother decides to offer Keira to him as a wife saying men are more respected when they’re married and those who respect her husband will now respect Phoenix as the parents blessed the union. The mother is trying to find a way out of the situation and to gain freedom. But Phoenix wants to control Keira as he’s believed she betrayed him and his family all those years ago. Phoenix will not allow them freedom but he will save them from death for now if Keira agrees to this ludicrous plan and she hesitates but when Phoenix mentions the kid hidden in the house her determination and protective instincts take over and she agrees.

Phoenix is cruel and stubborn when it comes to Keira. He tries to belittle her and push her to breaking because deep down he’s hurt by what he believes she did to him and his family. He decides he’s going to own her and push her to the brink until she’s a broken little doll. But he’s also fighting himself because he remembers how he felt with her 10 years ago and what he thought they shared. He feels like he can read her just as well and he knows she’s hiding something which he thinks is a lover and he’s jealous but he can’t figure it out. But thinking of truly harming Keira makes his chest cave in!

Keira has kept a secret from Phoenix and the Ifrinns since before they destroyed their family. She feels like it’s partly her fault that it happened because her father offered to make a deal with the Ifrinns due to the circumstances and Phoenix’s dad refused but he never discussed this with his sons. Keira hates her parents because they took Phoenix away from her and didn’t allow her to raise Brigit as her own daughter. She’s always had to watch from the sidelines and missed out. But she wonders why Phoenix never came to rescue her all these years. He knew how much she hated her family and life there wasn’t what she wanted.

Phoenix and Keira both have huge emotional roller coasters they are facing as old feelings form the past resurface but new feelings from the last 10 years choke them and hold them hostage. And now vengeance has created cruelty for Phoenix who keeps trying to break Keira and there may not be any coming back from what he’s done to her. They both still have feelings of love but betrayal and dishonesty have led them to new realities. Can they find themselves back to each other? What happens when Brigit’s true identity is discovered? Will Keira forgive Phoenix for his cruelty? Can Phoenix or his brothers forgive Phoenix for what he’s done when the truth surfaces?

This is an amazing conclusion to this series and I love getting to see all the couples! Some people didn’t finish this book due to Phoenixs cruelty and actions but I truly feel like he thought he was in the right for what he thought Keira had done to the family. So push through and wait and see what happens in the end because a lot of misunderstandings happen along the way that have to be dealt with!!

King of Ashes is the fourth book in the Kingdom of Sinners Series. A full-length standalone novel with no cheating or cliffhanger and a guaranteed happily-ever-after. A brilliantly written story with complex individuals and twisty storyline driven by revenge that captures the reader attention from the beginning and keeps you hooked and turning the pages with it's pulse-pounding suspense, high-octane adventures, non-stop action and mystery. An absorbing and unputdownable read. This Phoenix and Keira story told from a dual point of view.
An instant addiction and complete escape with an ending that will leave you breathless and gasping for air. A smoldering and illicit love story, the romantic suspense was nail biting. The sexual tension and intrigued were palpable. Be swept away by the exquisite prose, evocative settings and plot that will keep you the edge of your seat. Hang on to your kindle and brace yourself for this tantalizing rollercoaster ride of emotions and follow along as these two rival enemies fall in love with each other.
A dark mafia romance, billionaires & millionaires romance, contemporary romance, organize crime story, romantic suspense story, Bratva romance, secret baby romance, hate-to-love vibes story, enemies-to-lovers romance, forbidden romance, off-limits romance, forced proximity romance, with passion, secrets, consensual intense rough sex, dominance, dirty talking, revelations, lies, love, drama, healing, heartache, revenge, miscommunication, deception, darkness, madness, violence, danger, hatred, steam, betrayal, spanking, possessiveness, murder, obsession, retaliation, and so much more. 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥 10 stars!!! 💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓

This isn’t just one of the best books I’ve read lately; it might be the best. I read it in one sitting. I devoured it. I felt every scene, every emotion, like I was living it. I wanted to know what would happen, but I also didn’t want it to end.

Phoenix’s story was the one I waited for since book one. He was always the distant, haunted brother, burdened by loss, revenge, and the responsibility of holding his family together. But behind his cold exterior, there was a past he never truly escaped.
Ten years ago, he loved Kiera. He would’ve given her the world. But after the fire that destroyed his family, he believed she betrayed him. That belief fueled his rage, and he spent a decade planning her destruction.
What he didn’t know, what broke me, was that Kiera had been living her own private hell. First at the hands of her parents, then at the hands of the man she once loved. She wasn’t just surviving; she was protecting their child. A daughter no one knew about, a secret she kept alone, even as she was shamed, humiliated, and broken.
The moment Phoenix learns the truth hit like a bomb. The guilt, the devastation. It shattered him. And me.
Kiera’s strength is something I’ll never forget. She endured so much, not just Phoenix’s cruelty, but her family’s betrayal long before that. And still, she fought. For herself. For her daughter. For the love that once lived between them.

Their story is brutal, honest, and achingly real. Love buried under hate, pain, and betrayal. And yet… love remains.

The Ifrinn brothers reclaimed what was taken.
But what truly mattered was the family they built.
They got their happy ending.
And I got a story I’ll carry with me forever.

Ajme Williams… you outdid yourself.
This is my Pride & Prejudice. My favorite. My forever.

Whew, King of Ashes scorched me straight to my bones—and I loved every damn second of it. This book is a brutal, beautiful car crash of vengeance, passion, and secrets I did not see coming. Ajme Williams, you tore my heart to bloody shreds and then force-fed me hope. And I didn’t even fight it.
Phoenix Ifrinn isn’t a hero. He’s a monster in a tailored suit, forged in rage and sharpened by grief. I hated him. Truly. Viciously. And yet… I couldn’t stop wanting him. Because underneath that armor of cruelty was a man unraveling, and damn if that didn’t pull at something feral and foolish inside me.
And then there’s her—me—the woman at the center of his destruction, the one he thought he broke. I wasn’t just some pawn. I was hiding the biggest secret of all: our daughter. The one calling another woman “mama” while I withered in silence, surviving night after night in a marriage I didn’t choose.
The pain in this book? It's not just physical. It’s deep. Raw. That kind of emotional carnage that leaves you wrecked and gasping. But when that truth explodes—when he finds out—holy hell, Phoenix’s rage turns inward. And that's where the real story begins.
Because now it’s not about revenge.
It’s about redemption.
It’s about a broken man trying to fight for a family he didn’t know he had, and a woman who still has battle scars from the war he started.
Ajme gave us enemies-to-lovers with claws, soul-deep pain, a daughter I adored instantly, and the kind of passion that burns too hot to last—but somehow survives anyway.
If you love your dark romance with teeth, blood, and a side of hard-won hope, King of Ashes isn’t just a must-read—it’s a must-feel. Just be ready to bleed for it. I sure did.

You might want to make sure to double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love along the way. Phoenix sexy as all get out oldest Ifrinn brother everything fell on his shoulders after his parents death the care of his younger brothers, fast forward revenge leading the way (they say revenge is a dish best served cold) now the brothers are back on the same page with one goal revenge for their parents but the family offer their daughter’s hand in marriage hoping to save themselves by brokering peace. Kiera hasn’t had an easy life in fact you want to reach out giving her a huge hug the only man she has ever loved was Phoenix her parents knew this so they kept her under watchful eyes of guards keeping her from him, her one joy was her daughter although, they made him think she betrayed him and so when she is told she has to marry her to grant peace she already knows what her life will be like. But when Phoenix learns the truth of his daughter, what Kiera has had to endure at the hands of her family, but will the truth set them free or will it set them further back, will her family pay for all they have done, will they be able to see they are stronger together, and find their way to happiness together as a family?

Second Chances!

Well this is the last story of this series,it had a grand finish ,caught up on all the loose ends and such but I hate to see the end ,I loved the whole series and the author but I get too attached to certain story's and these were ones.Phoenix and his brothers are set on getting revenge from the Kerns over losing their parents, their lives hood and even Ash's girlfriend Megan and their staff.Phoenix captured the Kerns and they try to bargain for their lives,Kiera for their lives,Phoenix and Kiera were once a couple ten years before but what her parents did cost them their future, now he hates Kiera and only wants revenge on his family but he does make a deal.He knows that she is hiding something but he wants to know if it's a lover,Kiera does anything to protect her secert,Brigit her god-sister but he finds her not realizing Brigit is closer to him then he thinks. There was so much action, lies, misunderstandings, jealousy in this series but the Ifrinn 's got their revenge and their second chances for their lives, for being greater men, financially and finding the woman to help guide them and love them and yes Phoenix may have wanted to get even with the Kerns for the past ten years but when he finds out the secret that Kiera was force to hide from him,his heart is force to open and allow Kiera in without blame, hatred and to open up to love and they get their second chance at happiness!

I've loved this series. each Ifrinn brother dealt with their parents death in different ways, but I knew Phoenix would be the one who was the most haunted, being the oldest he felt the obligation to take care of his brothers. They regrouped came back strong, and finally got their revenge by getting the Keans. the Keans hoping to save themselves offer their daughter Kiera. Phoenix would finally get the total revenge marrying her. Ten years ago they secretly loved each other, but Phoenix believed she betrayed him and his family. Kiera's life has not been easy, her parents have kept her under their thumbs, at one point locked up with guards so she couldn't go to Phoenix, the only joy in her life was Brigit, her parents "godchild". Phoenix, thinking she betrayed him. treats her horribly, embarrassing her, she only remembers his broken promises and both are broken by the past. Phoenix finally learns the truth of what Kiera is hiding from him and they can finally begin the healing process. Great story, every emotion, hate, betrayal, you can feel their pain radiating off the pages. I read this in one day. I couldn't put it down. I had to find out how the different facets of their story came together. The ending pulls it all together, everything these four brothers wanted, love and family.

4.5 // A satisfying conclusion to the Ifrinn brothers’ saga.

I loved the brothers and their relationship with each other and their wives.

Brigit being revealed as Phoenix and Keira’s daughter wasn’t a huge twist for readers, but it was a powerful moment that effectively broke Phoenix out of his tunnel-visioned revenge mindset.

I loved the bridal outing scene with Keira and the other wives. Their support and strength even though they hardly knew her was sweet. I would’ve loved even more moments of them all together.

Seeing all the brothers with their wives and children was a heartwarming, full-circle moment that wrapped the series beautifully in the epilogue.

That said, I was left wondering about the mention of other “powerful people” besides Mr. Kean who didn’t want the Ifrinns back in control. That felt like a setup for a larger threat or future plotline, but it never really went anywhere. I’m also curious about Keira’s parents—when Phoenix confronted them, they seemed worried about Brigit, but they never acted on it. It felt like there was potential for more development there.

Still, overall, a strong finale, a well-earned ending for the brothers and their families and I’m kinda hoping for a second generation.

This is the final story in the Kingdom of Sinners Series where we get Phoenix’s story of revenge against the Kean’s who murdered his parents. For 10 years he became responsible for his brother’s holding their remaining family together. Kierra was devastated when her parents discovered her not so secret relationship with Phoenix and keep her in the dark until the fire destroyed the Ifrinn Family home and everyone in it. Phoenix believed Kiera used him and Kiera was devastated he was gone, being forced to leave the country returning a year later as a god mother to a little girl, their daughter. When the brothers take over the Kean home and lock them prison up there’s some relief of finally getting them and make a deal to stay alive - marry Kierra to show strength as they take over the businesses, home and soldiers. These two are both extremely hurt from their past and secrets especially Phoenix who can’t get over the trauma and lies. Threats, secrets, destruction, revenge, healing and trust will have Kiera and Phoenix on a painful journey to find their childhood love as adults! I cried at this. I'm not even going to try and hide it, I was in tears. This was so good! The writing is great and this plot and story sucked me in. It kept my attention the whole way through. We get the story, no wasted time. There is a cast that you'd be familiar with if you had been following along. It was so worth it and I liked both leads despite everything.

He'd believe one story and there was a very different version that she had to live.

I wanted to kick him at times but he was in a mind space that was unhealthy and he needed to process a lot. And boy did he get to! I felt for this h the most. I did for him and his family, of course! But this girl...oh wow. What a strong woman! Dear, you did the best you thought you could. Her parents were terrible. Evil people and she was on the wrong side of life being born their daughter, because she is an actual good person. She is in pain and I just felt that. Over and over. Get out those tissues! There is a twist you will absolutely cry over! Well done and I obviously very much enjoyed this!!

Emotional... in the best way. It’s one of those stories that grabs you by the heart and doesn’t let go. The characters feel so real, especially the heroine, who’s been through hell and still keeps fighting. The romance is messy and beautiful, with the kind of chemistry that practically sizzles off the page. Williams doesn’t sugarcoat emotions, and that rawness makes every chapter hit harder. If you’re into stories that make you feel everything all at once, this one’s worth it.

Phoenix Ifrinn is in his early 30s, oldest brother to Ash, Blaise and Flint. Wanting to get revenge on the family who killed their parents and staff in their home fire and stolen the Ifrinn empire. Now they did but big secrets his formal love has hidden from him.

Kiera Hampton is about the same age as Phoenix, her daughter Brigit is 9 and half years old, her parents have it where Brdgit is Kiera's goddaughter, only a few know the trust. Will Phoenix actually lower his guard around Kiera and will she break the unbreakable walls around Phoenix to have what they had a decade ago???

When True Love Overcomes Adversity -
OMG! The gripping story keeps us turning the pages with determination, pulled me into the lives of Phoenix and Keira as they embark on an extraordinary adventure filled with love, revenge, betrayal, passion, brotherhood, violence, secrets and a few twists mixed in on their way to getting a happily ever after they craved, but never expected to happen. The story also highlighted the lengths a mother would go to protect her child, even if it means sacrificing herself in the process, but it also shows how how a father’s heart can be stripped of hatred by a life changing discovery.

Ajme Williams really did an amazing job with this story to ensure to end the series was truly astounding and will ensure the reader is unable to take a break once they start reading. It took me the entire day to read this book, but I can say without a shadow of doubt, that every single second spent was worth it and will leave you yearning for more.

Fast-paced dark mafia romance. Fourth book in the Kingdom of Sinners series. I was looking forward to finally reading Phoenix's story. This book had enemies-to-lovers, second-chance romance, forced proximity, and big-time secrets. The angst had my heart in my throat. I just loved this mafia world and the Ifrinn brothers. Each of their revenge stories has been so good, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this conclusion.

Dual POV
Phoenix is my favorite Ifrinn brother. There I said it. I just loved his attitude. Is he stubborn? Absolutely! But when he recognizes his mistakes, man does he make up for them. He's just yummy, trust me. His use of "my wife" had me melting into a puddle.

Keira used to be the meek mafia princess. Now she's grown to be strong and resilient. Having Brigit has made her grow into her protective, take-no-nonsense role.

The hate-to-love had my emotions in turmoil. Their friction and chemistry were so HOT.

I'm so glad they got their second chance at love. I'll miss the Ifrinn brothers, I enjoyed this series.

This book messed me up in the best way. Phoenix is ruthless and unrelenting, hellbent on revenge and blinded by pain. I spent the first half of the book hating him and the second half falling hard. His rage, his guilt, his unraveling once the truth comes out? Chef’s kiss.

Brielle broke my heart. Her strength is quiet but fierce. Every time she stood her ground, even when she was shattered inside, I wanted to cheer. And when the reveal finally hits? The emotional whiplash had me glued to the page.

And Brigit. That little girl is the soul of this story. Watching Phoenix realize what he’s lost, what he almost destroyed, absolutely wrecked me. I was crying, swooning, and yelling at my Kindle all within five minutes. I finished and immediately had to lie down. Five stars, no peace, totally worth it.

This is book 4 and the final in Williams' Kingdom of Sinners series. A wonderful addition to the series that follows the Ifrinn brothers. This one follows the journey of oldest brother Phoenix and Kiera Kean. A brutal romance read with vengeance, secrets and of course passion. An addictive read I couldn't put down; this book wrecked me. I have loved every book in this series, but I knew Phoenix, being the eldest brother would harbor the death of his parents differently than his brothers and the journey he found to find love was so powerful to read. I loved this read, this series but hate that it's over. I can't wait to see what Williams will write next...I don't know how she can top this series, and this read but somehow, I know she'll deliver all the emotions and steam and storyline I've come to rely on her for!

The Ifrinn brothers, each coping differently with their parents' death, regroup to seek revenge on the Keans. Phoenix, the eldest, feels responsible for his brothers and is haunted by the past. The Keans offer their daughter, Kiera, to save themselves, and Phoenix marries her for revenge. Ten years earlier, Phoenix and Kiera were secretly in love, but he believes she betrayed him. Her controlling parents kept her confined, isolating her from Phoenix, with her only joy being Brigit, their "godchild." Phoenix, unaware of Kiera’s struggles, mistreats her, both hurt by past misunderstandings. When Phoenix learns the truth about Kiera’s hardships, they begin to heal. The story is an emotional rollercoaster of hate, betrayal, and pain, culminating in a satisfying ending where the brothers find love and family.

King of Ashes is the final book in the Kingdom of Sinners series. This book was very emotional and suspenseful.

Phoenix was the oldest brother. He was in love with Kiera before. He once believed that she had betrayed him. Her parents were always watching out for her and she never had her freedom. Phoenix finally learned that Kiera was hiding from him so they can start to become a family.

I love how strong Kiera was and kept fighting. She had been through a lot but came out better. Phoenix was a great character. It was good to see him get his own story. It was also great to see the brothers with their families coming together to support each other. This story was a great way to end the series. I look forward to more from this talented author.

This book should be read after the his brother's books. It picks up where Throne of Fire leaves off, the Ifrinn brothers have just saved Ash's wife, Hannah and capture their enemy, Hampton Keane and his family. Ten years ago before Hampton set the fire that killed their parents, Phoenix was secretly in a relationship with Kiera Keane.

Phoenix believes she betrayed him back them and he seems determined to make her pay. He is downright mean to her at times, even his brothers do not recognize him. She is keeping a secret from him, Brigit is not her parents' goddaughter, she is their daughter.

This is an emotional story, for both main characters, that it seems they will never get back to where they were. This was awesome ending the series.

Finally in this Kingdom of Sinners series with the four Ifrinn brothers, we reach the eldest brother, Phoenix. Not just the story of Phoenix and Kiera, but also the wrapping up of the series and all the storylines contained within. Secrets exposed, lies uncovered, blood shed, lovers to enemies to lovers, the truth finally all comes out. At times I've wanted to give each of the brothers a good shake to say "wake up and realise what you're doing to your woman", though they finally all get there in their own way. I've loved reading this series (and anything by Ajme really), so much so I went straight from book 3 into this one with no hesitation!.

Again a pageturner in this series.

Phoenix, as eldest, protected and took care of his brothers after the brutal killing of their parents.

After 10 years the brothers throw over the reign of the man responsible for their death.

And Phoenix ends up engaged to his enemies daughter, believing it will show the other crime families his absolute rule. But is she a culprit to his parents demise or is she innocent?

Loved it, great characters, good storyline throughout the series and the steam.... whooha. These are some strong men who love their women fiercely and the women are quite the match for them.

This time we follow the story of Kiera and Phoenix. She has been mistreated by her parents for years, and now by him too, because he assumed she betrayed him, which wasn't the case. Now, her parents have given her to him in exchange for their own lives. Sometimes I really didn't like Phoenix, as she tormented and treated him based on false information. Their daughter isn't being mistreated, and he doesn't even know she's his and the mother of his child. If he finds out the truth, can he still make things right with Kiera? Will she allow it, or has she become so dejected by everything that he's now seeing the best thing he ever had slip through his fingers and isn't sure he can make it right?

King of Ashes by Ajme Williams is the heart-wrenching story of Phoenix and Keira. They were inseparable in the past. Now, ten years later, he is filled with bitterness, resentment, and anger. All he wants now is her comeuppance. And he wants it to be humiliating. All she wants is safety for those she loves…

This story had me near tears!! These two are so right…but, so wrong for each other. Each has they their own memories and thoughts of the past…that don’t necessarily coincide with the other’s. But, now he hold all the cards and she is at his mercy. Freaking amazing read that was unputdownable!!!! Loved this story!!!

I could not put this book down and read it in one sitting! I loved the plot on this one, revenge, lost love and two characters fighting chemistry and a lost love! Kieron is hell bent on revenge so much so that he's not seeing the truth right in front of him, i loved how his brothers tried time and time again to reign him in! As for Kiera, i understand her fear, her heartbreak and her determination to protect the one person who mattered the most to her. Huge angst and chemistry in this one which was addictive!! Loved it!.
