A legacy of war. A legacy of love. A legacy of fire.
Starting over sucks, but as a Pisces dragon shifter, I go where the Oracle tells me. Right now she says that Mason Forge needs to be here, slinging coffee in rural Virginia, which means my dragon energy is meant to inspire one of the human residents. Sure, I’d prefer to be a defender of my race like my father, but the Zodiac Brotherhood plays a limited role since the peace accord with the Saint’s Order—the secret society that traditionally hunted my kind.
The moment I meet Reagan, I know she’s the reason the stars have guided me to Thornsboro, but the specifics of her secret project are a mystery. When she finally trusts me enough to share that she’s investigating the Saint’s Order, I’m horrified. I’ve been unwittingly helping her uncover the one story that could be a critical threat to my kind. Worse, my dragon has chosen Reagan as his mate, and with my inner beast calling the shots, staying away isn't an option.

I absolutely loved this book. It was fast paced, exciting, witty and sexy. Full of great characters, lovable good guys and despicable bad guys. Great storyline. I can't wait for more!!!
If you’ve read the Treasure of Paragon Series and enjoyed it you will enjoy this one. Written from the perspective of each of the main characters put a different spin on this prequel to a new series. Short enough to read in one sitting and it captures your attention so well you’ll actually want to finish it in one sitting.
All the emotions, the connections, the intrigue, and the love
I loved Mason and Reagan’s shifter, fated mates romantic suspense tale. The story had a good balance of humor, heartwarming love, real life issues, suspense, and spice. Even though I could see it coming, the author did a really good job of slowly ratcheting up the suspense while keeping the romance swoon worthy. Mason is a Pisces dragon who has been sent by the Oracle to the small town of Thornsboro to run a coffeehouse. Mason does not specifically know why he’s there but the purpose of all dragons is to inspire humanity. Reagan is a human who works at a small town paper with a career goal of writing a story to launch her career as an investigative journalist. As Reagan visits the coffee shop daily she starts investigating a secret society, the Saint’s Order, unaware that they are the enemies of dragon kind. Mason’s dragon has chosen Reagan for his mate which complicates things. To get to their HEA, Mason and Reagan must deal with their cultural differences while trying to avoid the Saint’s Order and unpack both of their painful baggage. This story was well written and included witty dialogue, good world building, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline as shown through sweet moments, steamy scenes, chuckles, supportive friends, messy families, painful pasts, dragon physiology and culture, evil actors, and swoony love. I am looking forward to reading more in this series. 4.5 stars.
Legacy of Fire introduces a new Genevieve Jack series, featuring celestial dragons sent to earth millennia ago by the Creator, who inspire the native humans to innovation, creativity, and wealth. The dragons are led and protected by their Zodiac Brotherhood, comprised of twelve warriors whose powers each align with a different sign in the stars.
Mason Forge is a Pisces dragon. He currently runs a coffee shop in a tiny Virginia town on an order from the Oracle. He wasn’t sure who he was sent to inspire until beautiful and curious Reagen Bailey walked into Forge’s Café. Reagen is a budding journalist who is investigating a secret society that, unbeknownst to her, hunts dragons. Her research could put both their lives in jeopardy, especially once Mason realizes that he isn’t only Reagan’s muse, he’s her mate.
Genevieve Jack’s storytelling is so appealing and accessible. The reading is smooth and easy, never taking any unnecessary detours. We get the secret societies, the parental conflict, the cool bestie, and the steamy romance. But we also get a dangerous plot twist that was completely unsurprising and rapidly resolved. However, Mason and Reagen are fun and likeable. Knowing this author’s outstanding track record with The Treasure of Paragon, I am hoping that further volumes will introduce more depth.
Loved this book. The book moved along very quickly, I enjoy books like this that that move through the story. It's not often I sit through a whole book from beginning to end but I did with this book. I am looking forward to the next one.
Excellent start to a new series! Love the dialogue which makes me laugh out loud in spots. Who woulda thought a journalist & a dragon were meant to be together. Oh wait, it's the Oracle. While I'd like more romance before, I suppose destined mates are handled differently. Read all in one sitting. Still, looking forward to Connor's story!
Interesting take on dragons. Genevieve Jack has done it again: a new take on dragon society that will make a fine series. Mason and Reagan start with a fine flirtation and progress to danger and problems. I really enjoyed this new book and look forward to the new series. Already pre-ordered the next story.
I've never read a dragon book and wasn't sure what I was getting myself into. It wasn't a bad book. Actually had a story line to it. Family, love hate relationships, friends, loss of parents and what it does to a child. Had sexy scenes also. It was a good read. Some parts the fantasy parts, wings, flying, etc. Yeah not sure I can get a grip on that part.
I’ve read every single series Genevieve Jack has written. She never ceases to amaze me with her creativity and the intriguing storylines she develops. Legacy of Fire is another example of how she can create a story that will keep you turning the pages. I can’t wait to see this story develop.
Ms. Jack has brought another excellent dragon series to light. The new characters are vital and complex, hero’s and antihero’s. Can’t wait for the next installment.
I highly recommend the book about the zodiac dragons
It was kind of refreshing to read about the zodiac signs and of course the dragons and their fight for survival. Genevieve Jack is one of my favorites and I really loved all of her books.
Another great book! I started and finished in one sitting 😅 if you like Treasures of Paragon series you’ll like this one too! Can’t wait for the rest of the series!
No início estava a gostar bastante porém, consoante a história foi avançando, tornou-se aborrecido. Gostei mais deste do que do primeiro mas mesmo assim esperava mais.
Loved, loved, loved it! Can't wait to read book 2 of the Zodiac Dragon Brotherhood, hate those Saint Order guys, need to be sure the Brotherhood will win ;-)
