A big big thanks to Noëlle for reaching out to me and asking if I want to write a review!

Didahihi is a book about the 1977 Oklahoma Girl Scout Murders. We follow Sonny, who lives within the Native American community. Slowly but surely, fingers are being pointed towards them. Who else could've done it, right?

The book goes at a slow pace, it is very descriptive. While I do think it was beautifully written, the descriptions and conversations became a bit repetitive over time. I felt like Sonny kept having the same conversations with the same people over and over, and I noticed a lot of particular words returning frequently.

I do think she is good at writing plot twists, giving you just enough snippets to figure out what happens yourself (if you'd like), yet make it impactful and shocking at the end.

If we're going to be completely honest: at first I had my doubts if a person, who is not part of the Native American community, should even write a book like this, from the perspective of a person who is. We dive deep into their community, their rituals and more. But it is very clear that Noëlle did a lot of research and for that, I can only applaud and praise her, well done.

I know for sure there will be loads of people out there that will love this book. If you're looking for a slow, psychological and mysterious read, this one is for you (:

I would like to thank this amazing new indie author for giving me the chance to read her book. I was amazed throughout the book by how good her writing is. She created a slow and comfortable atmosphere out of a crime scene which is something completely new to me. I usually don’t enjoy books that are very descriptive but this is the exception.

Noelle made me fall in love with her characters from the first page. This book speaks about community, family loss and love and is something completely different from ur normal reads. I recommend it with my whole heart. I will definitely buy a copy of her book ;).

I wish u all the best in ur future career and I hope u will keep the good work up. 🩷🩷🩷🩷🫶🫶🫶🫶💐💐💐💐

First of all, I would love to thank Noëlle for the e-pub of her book in exchange for my review! [This didn't change my opinion].

"Didahihi" is a book inspired by the well known true crime case from 1977: the Oklahoma girl scout murder. As Noëlle states in this book: this is not a retelling, just a reimagining! For me, I have always been interested in true crime and I did know about this case before I started this book. I must say: you can clearly see that the author of this book knows what she's writing about, it shows that she did lots of research.

Something I must say: I absolutely love Noëlle's writing style, she absolutely knows how to keep someone hooked to her story and I basically flew through this book. The characters all had their own personal story and that gave the story a lot more dept (something I love).

The entire book I was trying to figure out the plot or the twists and let me be honest: the twist crossed my mind but I thought the story would never twist that way. I was honestly shocked when it actually did.

Long story short, if you are a true crime lover just like me: Didahihi is the perfect read for you! Make sure to check this book out on amazon & I will always be keeping an eye out for future works of Noëlle (I have a new instant buy author).

Didahihi is a great reimagining of the girl scout murders in Oklahoma from a new and interesting perspective.

As this is the second book by Noëlle and also the second book I’ve read, I have to say she has made significant progress in her writing which was amazing to see!

The book is very descriptive, also diving a lot into the psychological state of the protagonist, Sonny. This was very well executed and added a layer of depth to this story that I have not seen before.

If you are interested in murder cases, and books with suspense I highly recommend picking this book up and I guarantee you will be hooked.

Congratulations Noëlle on writing your second novel, I can’t wait for the third!

Truly an amazing book!

Normally I don’t read this genre a lot, but I wanted to start with an open mind. And boy am I grateful I did so. The story was intriguing and the characters were complex.

The way of writing was beautiful, it reminded me a lot of The Invisible Life of Addie Larue (one of my favorites). It reads pretty smoothly.

Regarding the plot I honestly never saw it coming (I must say I am not very good with predicting books but nonetheless surprising).

We follow Sonny (the main character) as there is a murder being investigated. There is a lot of tension and mysterious circumstances.

I think even though it might now be your typical genre (as is with me) you would still absolutely love it!

Recommend it!

I thoroughly enjoyed Didahihi. It’s a compelling and well-crafted story that seamlessly weaves together historical events and real case facts into a powerful fictional narrative. Rich in depth and emotion, the story keeps you engaged from start to finish. Noelle Zeeuwe is clearly a talented young author, and I’m excited to see what she writes next!

first off i want to give a huge compliment to the author for writing a book about a difficult topic. taking a real life event, turning it into a mystery historical fiction enlaced with topics like alcoholism, paranoia and racism i imagine is a very hard thing to do (especially as a 21 year old indie author)!!

in short, it's a mystery about the cold case of the murder of three girls. sadly i figured out the plot twist from the beginning so it didn't quite catch me in the end, as i hoped. it's a book set in 1977 with themes that are VERY relevant today. this book talks a lot about racial profiling & persecution, which i found a very interesting and important topic.

the writing style wasn't quite the match for me, as it was veryy descriptive and quite repetitive. situations, descriptions and conversations were repeated multiple times..

i think this author has great ideas and has a bright future ahead, the more experienced she gets.🫶🏼
