Yeah...NOOO! I have read this author before and thought I would give this one a try. It says it's a dark romance, 18 and older only. I would beg the differ. I made it through 20% of childish banter and ridiculous "action", but the last scene I read had me rolling my eyes to the point of them falling out.

The two main characters verbally abuse each other like they are 3rd graders (maybe this was supposed to be a rom-com?). Then they roll around the office using MMA moves on each other. A pinched nipple here, anaconda choke there, a squeased cock here, armbar there, a few hard whacks on the ass here, ax kick there, before the FMC has him pinned to the floor with a knife at his throat.....then this is said as she's walking out the door:

“Lovely not doing business with you. Thank you for the dinner offer, but I’d rather eat with poisonous snakes. They’re less venomous.”

What are we 14?? Yikes and eww.

This was a terrific audiobook, suspenseful and action packed throughout. Genevieve is one tough woman and Jago does his best to keep her safe as she surprises him time and again with her skill and sharp mind.
Narration was good; Thomas never disappoints and his voice is like silk to my ears. This is my first book with Autumn Mercer. She had a very strong voice when she was in charge and came across as a mob leader. Autumn did a good job with the male and female characters voices.
I always look forward to this authors books. She has a wild imagination and spins a dangerous web of deceit and intrigue.

terrific Mafia Romance

I really love Dark Mafia Romances like this, there is a lot of action and a lot of smut and there is a bit of spanking and a bit of butt stuff. Very Enjoyable and I finished it quickly, because I didn’t want to stop very often

Genevieve Morales is the first born and mafia princess of the Morales Cartel but doesn't want to be apart of the organization. After graduation and a lot of bribing with perks her dad as finally got her to agree to come back home to Barcelona to be the family corporation's attorney after the previous one was fired for being in subordinate she agrees and flew back home. Her father Julio Morales does everything in style and wanted to make a statement. He threw a party announcing to everyone that she would be his new abogada. She saw the shock and disgust on everyone's their face. Because as her father's councilor she had more power than his lieutenants which put the fear of God into people. Her father either owns or controlled half of Spain so he doesn't care what anyone thought about his appointment of Genevieve.
Genevieve was not one for parties. As soon as she walked into the restaurant where the party was being held she felt the air on the back of her neck pricke and knew that someone was watching her. And as turn to the source she found this beautiful Adonis man watching her. Genevieve wanted to get some air after the announcement and slip away to the restroom to freshen up. On her way back she ran straight into the brick wall of a man the same man that was watching her earlier. The two started kissing both had never felt anything like that before. He kissed her then walked away. She was going back to where her father was when she heard gunshots ringing out and her father was killed. Genevieve went from becoming the cartels new lawyer to the head of the Morales Cartel just twenty-four hours after returning home and becoming the guardian to her two younger siblings. With her father dead the Morales Cartel will be ripe for the picking from the various other Cartels and crime factions. With her dead father's head cradle in her lap she vows revenge on the person who killed him.
Jago Torres a.k.a. grim reaper/the butcher is the brutal and vicious crime lord of the Torres Cartel. The next day after her father's death Jago send and invitation to Genevieve to discuss business at his home which she accepted. When they came face-to-face with each other the two were shocked. He couldn't believed that it was the same girl that he had kissed by the bathroom was now Madame Morales, drug lord. Jago offers to buy all her father's businesses and territory for fifty million dollars and tell her that she could keep the house. The thing is her father's businesses is worth ten times more than that. She laughed at him then walked away but before she leaves the showed him that she wasn't a push over and that she was Julio Morales daughter the two fought and rolling on the floor. But he was surprised when she pulled out a knife from her sheath and held it against his throat and even managed to nick him two times then licked the blood off the knife.
This turned him on even more and he was impressed with her because she has managed to get a knife inside past his guys, when they wasn't any weapon allowed. She won that round of their tango. Jago was intrigued by her business smart, fierceness, sass and strength. But he vowed that he wouldn't let her win the second round. When Genevieve attack one of warehouse he wasn't going to let it go unchecked and kidnapped her brother at her father's funeral as leverage forcing to leave with him. He apologized to her for the pitiful offer he made her and tell her that he wanted an alliance with her to keep the wolves out. Because the Turks and Moroccans were teaming up which for them both. She agreed grudgingly but only if he release her brother. He did but tells her that she was spending the night with him. He then strip her and lay her across his desk and spank her with a cane as punishment for trying to kill him. They had a night and morning filled with passion.
Jago thought that he could continually use her whenever he wanted but she was different from everyone else. Genevieve has met her match in business and in pleasure.The Moroccans and Turkish were trying to kill him. And eventually they went after her and repeatedly tried to kill her.
When the Turks breached her house killing some of her man she was scared and called Jago to help. While they were attacking her the Moroccans attacked his warehouse. Jago went to help but afterwards he then took her to his castle for protection. Because he knew that she wasn't safe at her house. But he knew once he got her under his roof that she wasn't leaving she was now his possession. Jago has had a rough upbringing riddle with abuse at the hands of his father. He has also experienced a lot of loss, between the beatings and the loss it shaped his life. As they sheltered in place he finds that he can't seems to stay away from her and would go to her room every night.
Genevieve can't seems to stop herself gets arose every time Jago walks into a room. Jago started developing feelings for her and know that in order to better protect her they needed to get marry. The two get married and merge their businesses and territory together fifty-fifty. Jago became terrorial and jealous when anyone gets next to her. Although Jago is vicious and brutal he has a soft side when it comes to her. They fought the bad guys together, bickered with each other about putting herself in danger but Jago realized that she was more valuable to them than he thought. They were able to find Julio's killer and the traitor in their organization. They weren't looking to fall in love but they couldn't help their intense attraction. She was his ying to his yang. His light to his darkness. And he would burn the world down to protect her and keep anyone from taking her away from him. This book demands to be read and screamed escape from the everyday life and gave that something extra that you craved and never knew that you craved and needed.

Genevieve Morales watched her father murdered before her, she will find his killers and gain vengeance
Genevieve had returned to Spain at her father’s request and had taken the position of Abogada, where she would handle all of his affairs and contractual information which was something unheard of in Mafia circles.
Within 24 Hours she kneeled with her dead father’s head cradled in her lap as she then tried to console her younger sister and brother, she swore that she would avenge her father and would discover those responsible for his death.
Jago Torres has called on her and she had visited his residence where he had offered her a pittance for her father’s business and various other holdings and had also had the audacity to try and spank her like a little girl. She had shown him that she was her father’s daughter and had fought him and had actually held a dagger to his throat. Jago had been very impressed by her ability and her tenacity.
However, when Jago realised that his little tigress actually meant more to him than he like to admit he suggested that they merge so as to strengthen their business and also he had one ladt dose of punishment to deal out but he had to get her in his home again which would require him taking her young brother hostage.
Genevieve had known that he had no option but to go to his home and suffer his punishment and then she has sworn she would get her revenge.
This is a very erotic read with two very strong characters that are each reluctant to give up control.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

Genevieve Morales just finished the board when she is called back home. Her father makes her the family attorney. It seemed like things were looking up till an attack on her father caused chaos. She is not going to rest until the person responsible is taken. Jago Torres is head of his families organization. They are aware of what happened to the Morales Family. They will be easy pickings to take but when he realizes the woman in charge is the one he met at the restaurant, things change.

It always kills me that men always think a woman is weak. Genevieve is nothing of the sort. She learned from her father from a young age. Did she want the business, no. But she was a fast learner. She just needed to garner the respect of her men. Jago was ruthless and charming. That man could charm woman but Genie was not easily swayed. I do love with her legal skill she made sure things were air tight. These two had to learn to come together and save their business. But there was more to it. I figured there would be a traitor somewhere in the two households. I kind of figured out who but I certainly did not expect one of the issues. These two complete the other. The passion is hot and Jago takes no prisoners with her.

What a stellar read of vengeance, love and suspense!
I was enraptured with Genevieve as she talks about her obsession with Krispy Kreme donuts that got her through Columbia law school and her love of her father and family. While at a party at a restaurant thrown by her father to announce her position as the family attorney, she runs in to Jago and they have a moment that neither will forget. When Genevieve’s life as she knows it implodes, Jago is there to offer a pittance for her father’s businesses to which she throws him more than the proverbial “NO”. Jago’s second offer takes her by surprise and Jago too, but with no way to get a handle on the enemy she accepts. Let the fun (and over the top steam) begin! Will the two master the enemy and figure out how to navigate life? You have to read to find out and don’t expect to put this book down until you turn the last page!

Genevieve was home at her father's insisting and she is going to join his business, but they are at a welcome home party and in a blink of a eye every thing changes for Genevieve, Marco,Bella,their was dead.The vultures are circling and Genevieve is not sure what to do but people are after her,in walks Jubo another Mafia family,he decides that maybe to save Genevieve and her brother and sister,but Genevieve bulks at that plan but they sit down and hash out a plan over everything and they agree to it but it seems that people still want to take down his bride.This story is action pack,it's sure not boring,it maybe didn't like a happy marriage but it did in the bringing end.Lots of Bobby traps,moles but it wouldn't be a Piper Stone story if it didn't have a few enemies, secrets!

But before she settles in, she has a hot and steamy kiss with a stranger, loses her father to murder and suddenly becomes the head of the crime family. As she vows revenge, she finds herself grieving her father's death, caring for her two younger siblings and being approached by the stranger who kissed her - Jago. What follows is a fast paced suspenseful story as Genevieve and Jago with their passionate chemistry, their strong willed personalities while trying to find out who wants to destroy Genevieve and her mafia family. A very enjoyable read for sure, with the added twist of the heads of two crime families coming together in business and love.

I loved this book, I couldn't enough. There was so much action I just couldn't put the book down. I love Piper Stone's writing, she has a way of drawing you in and keeping you turning pages. The steam is scorching HOT, that said there is also plenty of plot that keeps the story interesting.

Genevieve the FMC is strong and intelligent. She's the daughter of a mafia boss.

Jago the MMC is a strong confidant and gets what he wants. He's part of a rival family.

They have an intense attraction and are explosive together. Their back and forth was just so good. They have to learn to work together.

This is a dark and erotic romance with strong characters. Our FMC, Genevieve Morales is far from weak and vows vengeance for her father’s death. Jago Torres, MMC, is head of his family’s organization, he is ruthless, and determined to get what he wants.

Genevieve and Jago have intense, explosive chemistry. Their tense back and forth pull and their bantering was oh so good! The suspenseful action and plot kept me enthralled, I didn’t want to put the book down. The spice enough to heat you up! This book will keep you captivated from beginning to end! Looking forward to the next book!

It had sooo much potential but fell short for me, personally. I feel like the main female characters priority were straight. She thought with her vagina nothing else. And he thought with his dick. Like at her fathers funeral her brother is kidnapped because she allows a guy who just a couple days ago gave her an ultimatum of either taking 50mil and giving up all her families business or go to war with him. And she’s thinking “wow there’s so much sexually passion here” HOW? Why would she think that in that moment. The characters mindless actions took me out of the plot.

rough read

This was such a rough read. I did not like the main characters. The MFC drove me crazy with her constantly changing behaviors. She goes from hating the guy to crawling within pages. There were also just a ton of characters who played such little parts and didn’t need to be added. I just understand it’s a series, but we didn’t need that many. I got annoyed with the FMC “oh that’s an American thing you wouldn’t understand” sayings or behaviors, it got so annoying. They weren’t that crazy of American things.

Genevieve returns to Spain to work as a lawyer to her mafia father. When he is assassinated, she takes up the reins, only to be offered an unholy alliance with competing mafia boss Jago. This alliance includes a contract marriage.

The story has all the danger, action, and treachery of a mafia thriller as the couple fight to neutralize the threats to their lives. It also has all the heat from their instant physical attraction, leading to mutual respect, trust, and a HEA.

The first half of this story sees Jago permanently angry and Genevieve trying to find her footing after her return from New York. She is no pushover but an awful lot falls to her responsibility. She managed to get her brother on board and take care of her sister but people keep trying to kill her. There is betrayal and violence and a few twists in the tale but finally Jago admits his feelings and there is a happy ending that neither of them expect.

To say this story was full of action would be a gross understatement. It starts at the very beginning and continues until the end. I loved the story, it’s well written and full of surprises. Genevieve is talented in the most unexpected ways and in the long run is just as dynamic as Jago. Together they are a force to be reckoned with as they get their HEA. It’s a great story and one worth reading.

This is book one in the author's new series. It took quite a while to get into the book for me. That said, once I did, the story flew. Both the business and romance side were equally good. The interaction between Jago and Genevieve was electric. I kept alternating between laughing out loud and expecting things to burst into flames. FANTASTIC

I really enjoyed this book. The dynamic between these two characters is off the charts!!!! Genevieve is one bad woman ( every little girl aspires to be like her ) and Jago is every woman’s fantasy!!! The writing is exceptional when you can actually feel what the characters are feeling is always a 10 out of 10 for me. Great story kept me on my toes not wanting to put it down……… I can’t wait for the next 2 in the series well done! I give this a 15 out of 10

Devil's Bride is Genevieve and Jago's story and it is on 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥! After witnessing her father's death, Genevieve is put in a position to have to take over. Jago has a proposition for her and this tenacious little spitfire gives him a run for his money. She's no shrinking violet but he's no quitter either and when they get together it's as explosive as the 4th of July! Definitely a must read!

This was a longer story than I've read in awhile. Sometimes, there was a lot happening while at the same time, nothing was really happening. For all the intimate moments, I would have thought Jago and Genevieve's relationship would have moved along quicker than it did. It seemed like in the last chapter is when it really clicked for them and then it was over. I am voluntarily leaving a review.
