An average teen. A supernatural task. A seriously unfair performance review from Heaven.
My name’s Stella Martens, and I live in a town called Average. No, really—Average, New Hampshire. And up until recently, that’s exactly what I thought I average grades, average life, average crush on the mysterious hot guy.
But surprise! Turns out I’m a fallen angel—capital F, wings-and-all, Heaven-sent kind of fallen. Apparently, my former self (her name was Vitrella, because of course it was) made a big ol’ heavenly deal and gave up eternal angel powers to be reborn as me. No wings, no grace, just teenage awkwardness…and a wish-granting job I didn’t sign up for.
Now I’ve got a supernatural quota to fill, a celestial HR department breathing down my neck, and a hot angel boy with apocalypse energy telling me the fate of the world might kinda-sorta depend on me.
Cool cool cool.
Average Fallen Star is the snark-powered first book in the Average Angel YA paranormal-urban-fantasy series. If you like quick-witted heroines, angel-and-demon showdowns, and small-town secrets with world-ending stakes, then you’ll love Felicity A. Green’s heaven-sent adventure.
First things first, I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I really enjoy the authors writing style, and so far (chapter 1) the book has a charming comical edge that’s very entertaining. This charming comical edge carried through the entire book, I liked how the characters inner dialogue was and I think the author captured the teenage essence really well. It was a good short little fantasy read and I was very entertained and do plan on reading the next book.
Listen. I picked this up for the chaos and stayed for the heavenly HR violations.
Stella Martens lives in a town called Average and somehow still manages to be the biggest celestial mess New Hampshire’s ever seen. Which is exactly why I love her. She’s awkward, stubborn, unqualified for this gig, and wildly relatable. Apparently her soul was once a glowing powerhouse named Vitrella who decided to yeet herself down to Earth for a human reboot. And now? Now Stella has a job she didn’t apply for, a quota she can’t meet, and a hot celestial sidekick who makes things exponentially worse (in the best way).
The writing is sharp, the pacing snappy, and the tone gives off perfect “Buffy meets The Good Place” energy—with angels. And small-town weirdness. And cosmic-level stakes.
Also, the sarcasm? Heavenly.
I didn’t expect to be emotionally attached to a girl dodging angel bureaucracy while figuring out her own powers, but here we are. I already know I’ll follow this series wherever it leads, even if it’s straight into the apocalypse.
Felicity A Green’s “Fallen Star, Average Angel” is a compelling start to a new Young Adult Paranormal series, blending celestial intrigue with the chaos of teenage life. The story follows Stella Martens, an ordinary teenager whose world is upended when Zachriel—a mysterious and undeniably attractive angel—reveals a shocking truth: she’s a fallen angel in human form, with a destiny she must fulfil. Green masterfully captures Starla’s skepticism and reluctant fascination, making her journey from disbelief to reluctant acceptance utterly believable. The stakes skyrocket when tragedy strikes Stella’s family, particularly her six-year-old sister, Marie. This heart-wrenching twist forces Stella to confront the reality of her celestial origins and the dangerous task ahead. Green ramps up the tension expertly, weaving a sinister atmosphere where a demon lurk in the shadows, angels aren’t always benevolent, and Stella’s loved ones are caught in the crossfire. Themes of wishes granted; matchmaking, family trauma, and angelic ambiguity are skillfully explored, grounding the supernatural elements in real emotional weight. The urban setting adds a fresh, modern edge to the celestial conflict, making the paranormal feel eerily close to home. And with an unresolved ending that leaves you wanting more, I’m already counting down to the next installment! “Fallen Star, Average Angel” is a thrilling, emotionally charged debut that will appeal to fans of angelic lore, unrequited attraction, and high-stakes supernatural drama. Felicity A Green has crafted a world I can’t wait to dive back into.
Fallen Star by Felicity A. Green is a captivating urban fantasy that effortlessly weaves together elements of action, mystery, and humor. The story revolves around Stella Martens, a seemingly ordinary teenage girl who discovers that she is actually a fallen angel named Vitrella. This revelation sets off a thrilling adventure as Stella grapples with her newfound identity and the daunting task of fulfilling Vitrella's wish-granting quota.
The author's vivid and descriptive writing style draws readers into the world of Stella and her extraordinary circumstances. Green's ability to seamlessly blend the mundane with the supernatural creates a unique and engaging reading experience. The characters are well-developed and relatable, making it easy for readers to empathize with Stella as she navigates her new life and faces the challenges that come with it.
One of the highlights of this book is the introduction of a sexy supernatural being who breaks angel code to reveal Stella's true identity. This twist adds an exciting layer to the story, as readers are left wondering who this mysterious figure is and what their intentions might be. The addition of a romantic subplot also adds depth to the narrative, providing readers with a glimpse into Stella's emotional journey as she comes to terms with her celestial past.
The first in a series of ebook novellas, Wish Upon a Fallen Star leaves readers eagerly anticipating the next installment. With its fast-paced plot, intriguing characters, and unexpected twists, this book is a must-read for fans of urban fantasy and supernatural fiction. I highly recommend this captivating and entertaining story by Felicity A. Green.
Stella Martens is a teen living in Average, New Hampshire. She’s as average as her hometown, with average grades, an average life, and an average crush on the mysterious hot guy. Turns out that she’s a reborn fallen angel… with the powers of a wish-granting job she didn’t sign up for. She’s got a heavenly quota to fill, a celestial HR department dogging her steps, and an angel boy with apocalypse energy telling her that the fate of the world kind of depends on her.
Fallen Angel is the first of Felicity Green’s books I’ve read, and honestly I didn’t have high hopes because the cover is very clearly done by AI. This is my biggest problem with the book. Since I received it as an ARC, I opted to give the writing a try… and I am glad I did. The story is fast paced and very much written for a younger audience than me. That being said, it is well-written and the characters are interesting. There are themes of matchmaking, family trauma, and wishes being granted - all set within an average city.

A hot angel and an average teen, what a combination!
To be honest, I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect when I started this book. I have read Felicity A. Green’s works and enjoyed them and that was what enticed me to read this one. Well, not disappointed. We have an average teen taking a gap year after graduating high school, working in her aunt’s restaurant, with two young half-sisters, a dad and a stepmother. Then in walks a real angel, gorgeous, hot, and tells her she’s an angel herself. Well, a fallen angel, that an angel gave up her wings to bring the wish of her mother to actual life. There is a lot going on in this story and there are still a lot of questions to be answered. The writing brought me back to my teen years and just how much I questioned everything I did and every decision I made. The plot is tight and the characters are all engaging. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and can’t wait for the next one!

Received as a review copy from Booksirens, this is an honest review. A beautifully fun urban fantasy series begins with Fallen Star as Stella Marten's teenage world turns upside down when Zach, a gorgeous angel tells Stella that she is a Wish Angel and now is suppose to be helping people achieve their deepest dreams. Struggling to take on a heavenly job with really no idea of how to do her job- turning to her town's Facebook for inspiration. As this unfolds, Stella's personal world becomes precarious as demonic forces threaten her family in a desperate attempt to step Stella in her new role.
Packed with smart humor and if a fan of Paul Sating's Zodiac series; you'll enjoy this story.
……no words to describe how amazing this book is….. From the beginning it grabs your attention and holds on to it, I love how right off the bat we jump into the story. Few books can pull this off well but this one did! The characters were amazing especially Our-Girl Stella, who reminded me so much of myself when she said the whole:
“I was tall and curvy in that might-be-hot-later way, if I ever gave up burgers and cake. (Spoiler: not happening.) My hair was that weird not-quite-blonde, not-quite-brown color that always looked vaguely greasy no matter how clean it was”
There were so many other little things that made her so enjoyable and relatable! I loved this book from beginning to end a definitely suggest trying it out! 6 stars for me!
‘Please. I didn’t do serenity. I did sarcasm and stress.’
According to the Angel of the Apocalypse she’s a fallen angel. According to her parents she’s a directionless recent high school graduate with a dead end job at her aunt’s diner. And the truth? To be determined. And it’s going to be a joy to find out! She’s playing matchmaker in this one, reluctantly attempting to fulfill wishes, per her angelic former job while keeping a close eye on her younger sister who is sporting devilish red eyes and a perchance for going all stabby with steak knives...And exactly who was Vito? I can’t wait to see where this series goes next!
Stella was a typical teenager. Just graduated high school and not sure if she wanted to go to college. Then Zach shows up at the diner she works at. He changes her life, literally.
What do you mean, I’m a fallen angel who is supposed to be granting wishes? And why is my little sister’s eyes glowing?
Read this fast pass page turner to see what the answers are.
Fall in love with Stella’s courage and her determination to protect her sisters and herself.
This was such a good read! I read this book in about 2-3 days. I couldn't put this book down! The story just plows through non stop. I really liked how the story was laid out and felt like it didn't jump around. It read in a good order and going back and forth between the different subplots felt natural. The twists felt like they came from out of nowhere in a good way. Definitely didn't see them coming at all. I already want the next book!
I enjoyed this story. Some light drama, some surprises and all round fun. Although a quick read, it had me laughing at times as Stella learns she is a fallen angel and really has a mission when before she figured she was a typical 18 year old. Stella's internal comments had me laughing hard as she tries to do her thing and deal with being a teen. Fun read and cannot wait to see what happens next as expect more fun to come.
This was my first Felicity A. Green and I am looking forward to the next one! This book was a nice easy read with a good, fast paced story. Stella's internal conversation had me laughing throughout! Very relatable despite being an angel! Loved the growth between Stella and Zach! Their banter is also great throughout the book. Brilliant YA Story and highly recommend to everyone!! Fallen Star Book 1 in the Average Angel series by Felicity A. Green was a surprising story. I've read most of Ms. Green's stories before so I was used to her writing style but this was different, good different and I really enjoyed it.

Creative and different. I very much enjoyed this version of angels especially the wish grantor. The people are interesting and their interactions are clever. I received my copy as a gift and highly recommend it.
An angel on a mission has a strange journey dealing with everyday life and her past. A hilarious read with the super natural. I received this ARC copy via Booksirans and recommend this book to other readers.
A really enjoyable easy read, which I read while lazing at the pool on holiday. Good storyline kept me engaged and interested, and I’m really looking forward to reading book 2.
