Be a good parent.
Be a good partner.
And you can pretend I don’t exist.

Trey Fisher is like any refined gentleman. Well-dressed, well-groomed, with a steady job that brings him all around the country for travel writing about interesting hot spots, and he even calls his mother weekly.

He also murders the abusive filth of the world if they happen to cross his path.

During one such venture, spotting a fight in progress, Trey comes to the rescue of a handsome young doctor about to be assaulted by his ex, and his carefully constructed life spirals into beautiful turmoil. No one has ever captured and kept Trey’s attention quite like Walker, and experiencing these new feelings becomes an addiction he refuses to let get away.

Walker Hammond is like any doctor about to start his fellowship. Deep into studying, practically without a social life, and wishing he had never gotten involved with his latest ex, Curtis.

He also never thought he’d fall for the serial killer who murders Curtis in cold blood.

During the last several weeks of his vacation between completing his residency and starting his fellowship, Walker meets and quickly falls for charismatic Trey, after Trey saves him from ending up worse than the scar Curtis leaves on his cheek. But when Walker discovers Trey’s true profession, fear paralyzes him, and he has to decide if the pleasant ways Trey makes him feel are enough to keep dancing with the devil.

An MM standalone novel in the multi-author Bloody Desires series. Expect a gentleman killer on a mission, a young doctor who wants to save everyone (and never thought he’d like calling someone Daddy) and the explosive passion that ignites when these opposites attract.

What is the difference between a vigilante and a serial killer?

Trey seems to be a mixture of both.

He also gives me Lucifer/Dexter Vibes.

His interest is captured by Handsome Medical Student, who he saves from an assault by the guys ex boyfriend.

‘He is beautiful, undoubtedly intelligent, and absolutely captivating. My interest will likely wane after a week, but while I am enamored with a new obsession, I never feel more alive.’

Handsome Med Student is Dr Walker Hammond.

Walker goes up to Treys hotel room and immediately it’s red flags. Theres a camera pointed out the window at his ex’s apartment building. But he also wants to keep hearing Trey talk.

“Aren’t you going to kiss it to make it better?”“How is that? Better?” “Y-yeah. Thanks, Daddy.”

Trey likes being called Daddy but Walker is embarrassed.
They exchange phone numbers.
Trey call later and they make date plans.

They have a nice dinner. Walker can’t contain his thoughts around Trey 😂

“You’re the one with the panty-dropping voice.” He pales. “And I just said that out loud. Oh my God.”

They share a kiss . Walker thinks Holy shit. Holy shit. A first kiss has never made him so instantly hard. He is turned on that Trey is waiting him wait 3 more dates until sexy times.

So this book so far is Trey secretly killing or plotting killing , while also wooing Walker.

They had a second date. A third date . Walker is eagerly anticipating date number four but also dealing with a missing ex boyfriend and his ex’s persistent bestie.

Walker gets suspicious of Trey but then second guesses himself.

It’s date four and Walker - there’s a body in the freaking closet! Run!

They have the sexy times .

O M G 🤣🤣🤣 The freaking body falls out of the closet! How’s Walker going to handle this?

With a panic attack.

“Y-you’ve… done this before?” Trey smiles. He smiles, and I am chilled to the bone and completely frozen. “H-how many times?” “Never enough, but as many as I can.” Oh fuck. Fuck. Trey isn’t a secret agent. He’s a fucking serial killer.’

Walker decides after some shock, talking with Trey, shock that it’s better the devil he knows and curls up in Treys bed while he disposes of the body.

Walker is spiraling. The police are questioning him. They know he has a new boyfriend. He’s not sure if Trey is his boyfriend now. He really is the perfect boyfriend. If not for the serial killer part.

Trey is quite attached to Walker. He thinks he can maintain this relationship as it is indefinitely so long as Walker remains his good boy.

Walker finds out Trey has killed innocent people, including someone he’s dated. Trey almost killed him but couldn’t.

‘Walker’s breathing picks up again. “You think not killing me is some sort of sweet nothing?”

Trey reassures him.

This Detective is really persistent and has a hunch about Trey. He comes to the apartment and .. it doesn’t end well for him.

“Oh, Walker, you were wonderful.” Trey says it hushed and husky like he has never been more enamored with me.’

“I love you,” I whisper against his lips and huff a little laugh as I add, “Daddy.”
“I love you too, my precious, precious good boy.”

Oof, I am not having much luck with this series. Started with a set up for chaos. It was very stupid criminal. The camera, the little trophy picture and the bodies in the closet. For a serial killer the guy came across whimsical and downed by someone calling him daddy. Didn't get much chemistry. It felt like the other guy was out of one bad relationship and coaxed into another, felt a little creepy and forced. Not for me.

Resist Me Not is part of the multi author Bloody Desires series. Each book can be read as a standalone but why not enjoy the whole series. Please check the trigger warnings before you start this book. This is the story of Trey and Walker. Like all the books in the series this one also is dark but so worth it. Trey and Walker are just perfect for each other. This book had me from the beginning to the end. Amanda Meuwissen does such a great job at making you feel all the emotions. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

Resist Me Not by Amanda Meuwissen is part of the multi-author Bloody Desires series. I could not put this story down. Trey Fisher always knew he was a little different. He is a travel magazine writer and photographer whose night job consists of eliminating the trash of the world. He meets Walker while on assignment and is drawn to him. They soon begin dating and Trey realizes that Walker is different from anyone he’s ever been with. He doesn't know if Walker can accept him for who he truly is. I don’t want to spoil too much of this story because it is really good, but I loved these two together. They fit together well. I was on the edge of my seat until the very end. I cannot wait to read more in this series.

I received an ARC from the author for my honest review

Here's Amanda Meuwissen's "Resist Me Not." It's a novel in the multi-author series, Bloody Desires.

["Be a good parent.
Be a good partner.

Trey Fisher is like any refined gentleman. Well-dressed, well-groomed, with a steady job that brings him all around the country for travel writing about interesting hot spots, and he even calls his mother weekly.

But when Walker discovers Trey’s true profession, fear paralyzes him, and he has to decide if the pleasant ways Trey makes him feel are enough to keep dancing with the devil."]

This book really puts the readers at the crux of the morality of grey characters in dark romances. Does it make you a good person (or a bad person) to eliminate the bad people of the world? Walker was so unsure for so long. He wanted the world to be black and white, but he knew, deep down, that it never was.

These two were adorable as hell. They loved and supported each other. Though, I think the moral arguments overshadowed the romance plot a bit.

Trigger Warnings: serial killer MC, subject matter appropriate violence and blood, depictions of panic attacks, asthmatic representation, child death (from natural causes, off-page), sex next to a dead body, and more.

Firstly, let me say I got this book from gay romance reviews and this is me leaving my honest review.
This is my first book from this author and I’ve got to say I did enjoy this Read.
Trey’s childhood early childhood was not a happy one. His father was very abusive. His mum ended up killing her husband in self defence but chose to hide the body but this was after a very young Trey saw it . Now whether this had an impact on Tree will never know but he did end up being a serial killer. He had a code he would only kill the bad. Does that make him a good guy?? When he was watching his target he saw a very good looking man arguing with a guy and Trey was interested straight away. So he left his hotel and this is where he met Walker.
Walker is a doctor and he is going through a break up. But he would never have thought that his ex-boyfriend would hit him but that’s exactly what happens outside Curtis‘s flats. Thankfully a good looking man came over and stepped in to stop Curtis from hitting him again. This guy actually breaks Curtis’s wrist, but all that walker can think is getting to know this man that helped him. The chemistry is instant there is definitely an attraction there But Trey is going to make him wait four dates for any real action. But on the fourth date, Walker finds a dead body in Treys Wardrobe. Now Walker has to decide whether to turn and run for his life, turn Trey into the police or get to know Trey better??
And that’s all I’m giving you, but I will say I really did enjoy this book. There were times that I found that, now I don’t know any serial killer killers but I thought that Trey was very soft in his trust of Walker. I don’t think a serial killer with the taste of murder would be so willy-nilly with his freedom in believing that somebody of a new romantic partnership would just let that person go to decide what he wants to do after all they had only had four dates but I did enjoy the book. I must admit and I will look out for this author again.

RESIST ME NOT is part of the Bloody Desires series, featuring Walker, a doctor, and Trey, a travel writer/serial killer. Trey doesn't target just anyone, but rather those who harm others, especially wives and children. The reasons for this are explained, so don't worry about that.

Now, of course, killing anyone is never supposed to be good, but how it is done here gives an excellent moral debate, and as shown in a group conversation, this same question has been asked many times. It becomes personal for Walker when he knows what Trey is doing. After all, he is a doctor dedicated to saving lives, while Trey is taking them. But is it as clean-cut and concise as that?

While I thoroughly enjoyed this story, there were parts that I didn't feel necessary. Firstly, there was the Daddy part. That was more of a term of endearment than anything else. And did Daddy and good boy really have to be in italics most of the time? I didn't feel any need to emphasise those words in the context they were being used in. They could have been changed for different terms, and it would still read perfectly. And secondly, was how many times First Do No Harm was mentioned. I get that was the question of the moment; I didn't need the repetition to compound on it.

Trey was an excellently written character, showing depth and thought that you might not expect. Walker was a little more self-righteous, a little more bland, until the end--that part, I loved!

I am loving this series and have no hesitation in recommending it if morally grey stories are your thing.

Thank you GRR for the arc!

This was a shortish read, but I enjoyed the story and characters.
I didn't know that this was a series, but now I'm wanting to read book 1!

When I read the premise of this book, I knew that it would definitely be entertaining and fun. I just seen to enjoy over the top, kind of psycho-sunshine characters.

Trey fits the bill. He's a gentleman, or daddy? Whose job has him traveling all over the world and writing. He's also taken up the task of murdering the most abusive, disgusting people.

It's through this that he meets doctor-to-be, Walker. Walker is caught in an argument that turns physical with his then boyfriend.
Before the fight can escalate further, Trey intervenes and breaks the now ex's hand.

That alone probably qualifies as a unique and swoon-worthy meet-cute, and Walker is officially swept off his feet.

I felt like this story was really sweet, dark and wholesome, even with the murders and gore in-between. Kind of like theatric, in a sense?
You can feel the tension between the two of them from the second they meet. They can't stop thinking about each other and Trey is determined to be a gentleman.

But, of course, he's hiding a secret and has never been able to let anyone get close.
Walker starts to piece things together, the more he gets to know him, growing more suspicious.

This is part of the Bloddy Desires Dark Romance series so check the TWs before heading in.
I don't know of there is a way for a stabby story to be cute...but that's sorta what I feel like we get here! Don't get me wrong it is stabby and Trey is a serial-unaliver but he is also kinda sweet when he realizes he doesn't wanna delete Walker 🤣

Trey and Walker have a sort of dramatic meet cute. Trey steps in to defend Walker after Walker's Ex starts an altercation. They decided to get to know each other more after this and this is where Trey woo's Walker (and honestly me too 🤣) Walker does have some warning bells going off and eventually finds out what Trey does in his spare time. Trey explains the people he targets but things get a little shaky when Walker's Ex goes missing...
Walker now has to make a choice but it's extra tough for him since he is a doctor and his morals with his job are really pushing him in one direction but his heart is pulling him in another. I don't know what this says about me but I was like "Throw those morals to the wind Walker!" 🤣 This ended up being an awesome read it really ticks all the boxes dark but with feels and swoony moments 😍 🖤

Trey Fisher lives a double life—charming travel writer by day, ruthless vigilante by night. He’s polished, principled, and deadly to those who abuse others. His world is meticulously controlled until he intervenes in a violent assault and meets Walker Hammond, a young doctor with a scarred past and a guarded heart. Walker, fresh out of residency and nursing wounds from a toxic ex, is swept into an intense romance with Trey, unaware of the darkness behind his savior’s smile. As their connection deepens during Walker’s brief vacation, passion collides with revelation: Trey is the man who killed Walker’s ex. Now Walker must confront the truth—can love survive when it’s built on blood? And is the comfort Trey offers worth the cost of his conscience?

I loved this story of moral ambiguity, obsession, and the seductive pull of danger wrapped in tenderness. There were a lot of of dilemmas for Walker but he was too wishy washy and indecisive which resulted in me losing my patience with him. A lot of emotions and feelings in this story although they were not normal compared to the rest of us. This was an MM story with a Daddy/boy dynamic.

Trey and Walker's romance was an intriguing morally grey meets good boy doctor pairing. I enjoyed seeing Trey fall head over heels for Walker even as he was ruthless in taking out society's trash, but in truth he only served his unique brand of justice to those who truly deserved it. Walker was an absolute sweetheart of a man, and I knew his biggest qualm in dating Trey would be coming to terms with his after hours profession. That conflict was a big focus throughout their journey, and I appreciate that Amanda Meuwissen didn't try to brush aside or rush through the emotional battle. As police began circling in the background, Walker had to decide if his oath to do no harm outweighed his feelings for Trey. Their hot as heck chemistry and delightfully steamy Daddy/boy scenes dangled a tempting carrot in front of Walker, but in the end I do believe it was love that allowed him to make the call to stand by his Daddy's side. Trey, in turn, was softer around Walker than anyone else, and he found his own version of love in the way his good boy made him feel warm inside.

I was lured in by the book's blurb. I am a sucker for doctor storylines and most of the time I enjoy MCs who are murderous. The blurb mentioning both of these in one story made me want to read it immediately. I was given a copy of the book in exchange for my honest thoughts. I am someone who doesn't often enjoy super dark romances. I prefer the morally gray, darkish themes where lines of social norms aren't completely obliterated, and I feel like this story is more along those lines than a truly dark romance. However, I also feel like it's subjective to the reader.

From the beginning, I was hooked. I felt Walker's roller coaster of emotions and his conflicting feelings over whether or not Trey's actions are justified. I quite liked that this book was a bit different than some other similar stories that I read in the sense that Walker didn't immediately accept the killings and move on. It was very much a struggle for him to decide what was right and wrong. By the climax of the story, I was panic reading as fast as I could to find out what happened next.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it for anyone who enjoys an MC who feels a bit stabby.

Trey cannot help but help the man when his ex-boyfriend and him get into an altercation. The spark is immediate, and these two men cannot help but be drawn to one another. When Walker is questioned in the disappearance of his ex, he can't help but question how much does Trey really know? Is he being truthful? When the puzzle pieces fit together in a truth, he isn't ready to accept Trey shows him why is way is okay for those who deserve his sort of justice. This isn't a oh you're a psycho that's okay sort of story. Walker takes his time in understanding the situation before allowing himself to accept what is happening and if he can handle Walkers other job. When things come to head and the disappearance of his ex-doesn't just go away as both had hoped, his loyalty is put to the ultimate test. I enjoyed Amandas take on this style of writing to see how her mind made it her own style. The passion and heat of the characters was spot on and was nice to see her work that into this style of writing.

Thank you for the book, here is my honest opinion:
3.5⭐️Fun and fittingly creepy, I enjoyed this one. I loved the characters, Trey and Walker, the serial killer and the doctor. Trey was the highlight for me, he is in turns, calculating and caring, refined and reckless - his is a fun character to follow. These two have an eventful meeting when Trey impulsively interferes when Walker has an altercation with an abusive ex, Curtis. Walker is duly impressed and these two do have fast chemistry, a promising connection, if Walker can overlook Trey’s murder side hustle. I love a killer with a code character, a Trey is more complex and dimensional than is often the case. I liked Walker, discovering your new guy killed your last guy, is definitely complicated. I will say however, I did grow tired of his prolonged crisis of conscience. I will also say, the Daddy stuff, could have been a fun dynamic, but never really gone anywhere beyond a term of endearment. A super engaging read, I had a good time reading!

Trey is a flawed person doing bad things. But is he really? That's the conundrum. When he saves Walker from his abusive ex, it's a win-win for him. Now he has his next target and he's enamored for the first time in his life.

Walker is a doctor and firmly believes in the "do no harm" pledge he made. When he finds out his new boyfriend does just that, he's not sure he can accept it. He's willing to try because Trey gives him something no one else ever has before.

This is a really good story. The moral aspects will have you thinking, maybe Trey isn't such a bad guy after all. Trey and Walker have such good chemistry that their relationship flows pretty smoothly with only a small hurdle. Walker is faced with a work issue that had me crying ugly tears. Amanda wrote his work issues so well that I could feel the heart ache and it felt completely believable. Then we have a tasty little twist at the end that made the story perfect IMO. Highly recommend this book. 😍

“Resist Me Not” was pure, delicious chaos—and I loved every second of it!! Trey is the kind of character who makes you swoon and sweat at the same time—dashing, sharp-tongued, a total gentleman… who just happens to moonlight as a killer with a very particular moral code. Enter Walker, the adorable, overworked doctor who suddenly finds himself being swept off his feet (and rescued) by this dangerously irresistible man.

The sparks between them aren’t just flying—they’re setting the pages on fire. I couldn’t get enough of their banter, the tension, and those moments where you can feel Walker trying to decide if he should run away or just melt into Trey’s arms. The mix of danger, passion, and unexpected tenderness had me grinning, gasping, and occasionally fanning myself. This is the kind of romance that keeps you up way past your bedtime because you need to see how it all plays out—and trust me, it’s worth every minute!

I haven't had this much fun reading a book in a while

I loved it. Every bit of it. Loved how Trey sometimes broke the fourth wall, loves his obsessive behavior, the stalking, the gentle manipulation... I loved everything about that book.

Walker was such a sweetheart and it was a true pleasure to see him fall for Trey despite his... Hobby. He wasn't immediately accepting, which I enjoyed! They had to get there, to that trusting point, as they kept nurturing their bond. He was truly the Yang to Trey's Yin (yeah, I'm pretty proud of that one), completing and balancing each other out.

The underlying plot kept me involved and interested and I had to fall asleep on my phone to be able to put the book down— that's how good it was. I loved it. One of my favorite reads of the year for sure, and I'll definitely check the rest of the series out after that!

I recieved a free copy of this book and this is my honest review

This was a different kind of story from Amanda than what I've read before. It was definitely darker with the vigilante unaliver aspect. I was excited for this one though since I did really enjoy her darker book, Delicious Descent, from the Monsters and Mayhem series. No "monsters" here other than the human kind, but the story did not disappoint. I couldn't help but laugh at Trey and his POV. He was just so unapologetic and bold. He was a nice counterpoint for the sweet doctor, Walker. Though he struggled with it, Walker did have some darkness in him. How else could he come to accept Trey as he was?

I really enjoyed their discovery of the Daddy/boy dynamic, which they kind of fell into on accident. They are well suited to each other and I really enjoyed their story. I hope Amanda writes more like this one!

I’m a bit torn about how to rate this. While it was a somehow enjoyable read, I didn’t connect with the MCs and found the story arc a bit lacking. That said, I still read through it in one sitting and felt entertained.
The story follows doctor Walker, who just left a (newly abusive) relationship and Trey, travel journalist by day time and serial k!ller on the side. We get some background story of both, but I needed more to really feel a connection with either of them.
While Trey apparently is successful in his “side business” he didn’t feel very professional or competent to me. And when Walker finds out about his new love interest’s side gig, being a doctor at heart he has some reservations at first but accepts it rather quickly, seeing as Trey only targets those “deserving”.
All in all this is a nice addition to this multi author series.

This is a standalone novel part of the multi author bloody desires series by an author that i have read many times before and I love how different their works can be and this is no exception. This is a love story at its heart. Trey takes out the trash, that is abusive people and Walker is a young doctor wanting to save people, they embark on a relationship that challenges everything that they thought they wanted and in Walker's case everything he believes in and thinks he would do for someone. These characters are very passionate about each other and it comes through on the page. This is an enjoyable book filled with love and steam, lots of steam. If you like your fiction on the darker side and your characters greyer than most, then this is a book to read and I am now very intrigued to explore the other offerings this series may have.

Wow...this was really good and thought provoking. Morally good or bad, you just don't know what you will do for love. I enjoyed this dark romance...and since Walker was so conflicted in his feelings it became all the more real. Trey is what someone would call evil/insane but have morally gray values when picking his victims...but his love, care and protective instincts to his lovely doctor Walker was beyond anything he experienced and he decided he was keeping him. Yeah...it was that cray cray love which made this a really good romance. The angst...sensuality...the daddy/boy kink...murdery parts but most of the romance...this was the third book of the series and it was one of the ones I couldn't put down. Absolutely loved their HEA. I highly recommend out of the series.

Just OK...

I one-click purchased the entire series without knowing all the authors. This particular author being one of them.
This is the first book I have read by them and honestly, I'm not sure if I would bother even reading anything else. This story was pretty underwhelming and, at times, contrived. No real action, just a whole lot of internal monologue about doing the right thing, blah blah blah. It got repetitious after a while.

Also, I don't think this should fall under a dark romance, not in the conventional sense anyway. It's cute, not dark. Walker and Trey made for a sweet couple, but the chemistry was lacking.

All in all, it was an ok way to pass a couple of hours, but in hindsight, I would not have purchased it. Not something I plan on rereading multiple times.

Let's see how the rest of the series fairs...

Trey & Walker
"Who else would clean up the world's filth if I was gone?"
This has to be the first non-paranormal/fantasy from Amanda Meuwissen I've read and I was blown away. I was well aware of the dark romance aspect of the book and the series, but I was still a little surprised (not in a bad way) by the level of intense violence committed by Trey. I enjoyed the read very much, but it definitely would not be a good option for those with triggers. By comparison, Walker is a real antithesis of Trey, but their chemistry is palpable straight through the pages. Considering Trey is a self-diagnosed sociopath, he laid out plenty of emotions with his task to woo Walker and show his feelings and intentions. It was only after Walker compared Trey's reactions to his mother's that he could understand more of what Trey was presenting and how it may have been more muted than others.

Resist Me Not is not for the feint of heart. It has a sweet underlying story & romance with the two men, but there is enough intensity that some would find the story off-putting. I did enjoy the dynamic we see between the two characters by the end of the book, because while not much changes with the characters themselves and how they interact with the world, the duo definitely become more of a team, in more aspects than simply their romance.

I received an authorized copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.

Being a part of the Bloody Desires series, you expect this to be a dark read but I enjoyed the romance element to Trey and Walker too; Trey was unexpected for a typically villainous character. He had black and white morals but he was also so protective and loyal to Walker. I really liked the daddy-boy dynamic they had together and it was good to see the interactions they had with different secondary characters, especially Trey's mother. Trey's narrative where he addresses the reader with comments definitely highlights that he's a dangerous character without it being too threatening. I liked the contrast with Walker's POV and I thought the HEA was good in the epilogue. Overall, a deliciously dark mm romance.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

I really enjoyed this read, as part of the Bloody Desires series.

Trey is a killer and when he meets the new doctor Walker in distress, he steps in and charms him into a relationship.

Their meet cute was fun, as were the dates leading up to the inevitable moment when Walker realizes Trey isn't just a normal guy.

I really enjoyed being in both POV's and seeing how much Walker has to give up to stay the person he has always wanted to be.

Overall, I enjoyed the read, a smile on my face at the banter and fun between the MC's as their relationship progressed. I thought it was definitely worth the read, and a great story.
