Since a tragic attack at the age of five rendered him disfigured and unable to speak, Malik contented himself to a life in the shadows. Ashamed of what he'd become, he forsook his birthright to lead and instead honed himself into a ruthless warrior, blackening his heart to mirror his monstrous appearance. Now serving as his younger brother's prized weapon and enforcer, Malik strikes fear into the hearts of all who cross the Intonat Nocte Pack.
And yet, when fate ties his life to a young woman with a heart as beautiful as her appearance, Malik must step out of the shadows to claim her as his own.
After a lifetime of loss, he will not allow anyone to steal her from him.
The Silent Mate is a steamy, broken hero werewolf romance with fated mates and a guaranteed HEA. For readers who enjoy misunderstood, scarred MMC's and the kind-hearted FMC's who love every part of them, scars and all. At just under 60k words, this is a short yet deeply-emotional read that promises to bring the spice with the sweet.

3 Stars
My Opinion: Overall, this was an enjoyable read with characters that I genuinely liked, though it wasn’t without its flaws. Malik and Aria were great together, and I really appreciated how they helped build each other up. The storyline itself was interesting for the most part, but at times it felt rushed and could have benefited from more depth and development.
Hero: 4/5. Malik is the general in his brother’s pack, and even though he was the rightful alpha by birth, he was deemed unfit after an attack left him mute and scarred. He was quite a tormented character, and I really felt for him. I loved his protective, possessive side and how he slowly opened up to Aria to reveal the vulnerabilities that plagued him. However, I absolutely hated his decision to let Aria believe that he was dead; it felt unnecessarily cruel. Heroine: 4/5. Aria, a healer, was originally intended for Malik’s brother, the alpha. But when it became clear that Malik was her mate, the brother was forced to step aside. Despite a rocky start, she was committed to making it work between them and for them to get to know each other. I admired her determination and compassion, as well as how she helped Malik see his worth after the years of being mistreated by his family.
POV: 1st person POV (Aria and Malik).
Push/Pull:
Sadness: 1/5.
Explicit Sex and Spice Level: Yes. 3/5.
OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) Drama: A little bit.
3.5⭐️ Where do I even begin? From the first chapter I was hooked. It was a fast paced, short, and entraining story. The knotting was lowkey interesting, um lol😂. I also loved that the MCs were both virgins.
SPOILERS AHEAD
There were a few things that I feel like the author should’ve went into more: - I believe she should’ve went more into depth about the verbal and mental abuse Malik (22) went through from his dad and Roman - There should’ve been some groveling from Malik for making Aria (20) believe he was dead - I wish we could’ve seen the aftermath of Aria relationship with her father and how that turned out - The ending felt a bit rushed
No points were deducted for the short length, as it is a short story and it was well-written!
Emily (Author),
This book was EVERYTHING I needed! I 1000% understand that it was a short story, but I am asking for a full-length novel!! Please, I am begging you! I didn't want this story to end, and both Main characters and their story just pulled me in. Thank YOU for writing such an amazing story!!!
Readers,
This book WILL NOT disappoint! Spice, romance plot with action, and so much love! LOVE LOVE LOVE
Ahh, this was such a surprise, honestly, I didn’t expect this to be sooo cutee! Malik was just the best mmc. His past was just so sad and the way he was so insecure of his looks was heartbreaking. Our fmc, Aria was so kind and supportive of him. She was never bothered by his looks, or his muteness, she just wanted to be with him. I absolutely loved that. They just loved each other so purely. This book is definitely an underrated gem…definitely recommend.
This is a new author to me and it's a new book for me by her, and I have no words! It was sooo good, don't go to read it but run to read it. I enjoyed it, and can't wait to read her other book. My eyes will be looking forward to seeing more books from her, I really liked her writing. Also, thank you for the double point of views😉
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. The writing is so easy to read, and Aria and Malik are incredibly sweet together. Malik’s pain and trauma broke my heart—he truly believed he didn’t deserve anything good. His brother was awful, but Aria’s love helped him heal. A touching, emotional story I really enjoyed! Really like this author.
Werewolves, Fated Mates, Unconditional Love, and more
I’ve read a book of Emily’s before on Wattpad and she’s a good writer. I like this book more than the other one I’ve read. Malik and Aria’s unconditional love for each other was beautiful to read. Roman’s ending was satisfying to say the least. This book was very good.
As someone who loves a good Omegaverse as a comfort read, this was really good. It had likable characters, good yearning, not a very intricate plot, but it was super sweet. I hope this author publishes more and often, since I'm already picturing another book in this universe about Emerson, the Omega who appeared in this one.
One of the amazing werewolf books I have read, it was something different I couldn’t put it down. This story is learning how to communicate with one other and having someone that will support you, make you a better person.
I love the storyline and how the characters evolved throughout the story. Malik and Ari were wonderful together. Roman was not the best leader and I’m glad that he story ended with a great ending.
I have stepped unknowingly into my Wolf shifter era.. I dabbed into it a couple of years ago with BRIDE but didn’t think I was going to deep dive into it… Anyhow I am so happy!!! I really loved this book, the romance, the scarred hero.. I loved the FMC and how she validated and healed him with love. The end felt rushed, the animosity between the false alpha and the true one needed a wee bit more development but other than that it was a great read … 4/5
