Manwhore Zane and nice girl Cady have a one night stand and managed to talk about their entire life histories while "fucking like animals." Okkayyyyy. That's realistic. This guy only sees women as walking pussies yet he was having a heart to heart with Cady because she's "special." And I totally loved all the million references to his sexual past. Thanks for those visuals. SMH.

Technically this book is "safe" since he is not with anyone else after her but he's the kind of hero I do not trust to go out looking for another easy lay. He was even contemplating going to some blonde at the club instead of moping after Cady and probably would've had Cady not texted him at the same time. I really do not want to read about my heros "wanting to screw his way through North America."

Needless to say, not my cuppa.

Cady Dunne is a college student living in Dublin, Ireland. She is on her summer break, and decides to take a vacation, & go stay with her cousin Linc & his fiancé in Phoenix, Arizona. Linc plays professional hockey for the Phoenix Coyotes. He takes Cady out with his teammates one evening to show her a good time, and she meets the sexy as hell Zane Kavanaugh. Zane is one of her cousins teammates, and is considered a cocky player. When sparks fly between them, Caty decides to live a little, and have her first ever one night stand. Why not? It's her last night in Phoenix, & this guy is drop dead gorgeous! She'll probably never see him again. They both agree to one night together.

-I mean... what girl doesn't want to be surrounded by gorgeous, professional hockey players?

-I'm really thinking about doing something that is wild and completely out of my comfort zone. Many say that Christmas is a time for miracles. This year, I say Christmas is a time for some crazy.

-Zane Kavanaugh pushes every one of my buttons, and I'm not sure anyone else will ever be able to compare.

Caty heads back to Ireland, and they both can't stop thinking about each other. Not only was the sex unbelievable & the best they'd ever had, but they made a real connection. Zane regretted she had to leave, and suggests they keep in touch as friends. While living on different continents, they grow closer, & get to know each other on a deeper level. They both quickly realize they want more than friendship, & must figure a way to make it work, and come up with a solution that lets them be together. I really enjoyed this Christmas novella, & continue to love this authors writing! :))

Zane and Cady have a one night stand on Cady's last night in Phoenix it's the best sex they both have ever had and the last time they will see each other as there is an ocean separating them. Zane can't leave his hockey career and the NFL and Cady is in University in Dublin.

When Cady arrives back in Dublin and logs on to her email account waiting in her inbox is an email from Zane so begins months of emailing, texting and phone calls with some hot phone sex thrown in as well.

Will there be a Christmas miracle that will bring Zane and Cady together forever?

This is the 6th book in the Off series as always expect great characters, hot sex and funny banter and we catch up with the other couples from the Off series.

I am in love with Sawyer Bennett...should I share this info? I don't know but it's the truth and I vow to uphold it! She can't do wrong...she can write about a nerd who likes to hump his pen protector and I would read it and probably 5 star because they inevitably had a connection.

Truly nailed the novella...so much that I didn't even realize it was a novella. Not easily done by most, but as I stated in my fan-girling stalkerish, leg humping statements above ^^^^ she just does it! Nike should hire her. All of her books have amazing banter, connections and deep friendships that surpass the ordinary. LOVED IT!

I loved this story so freakin much!!! It was great to get back to the Off series from Sawyer Bennett and Cady is a character from a prior book that I loved so I was happy to read about her again. When she hooks up with Zane, a teammate of Linc's, for a one night stand while visiting from Ireland, little does she know her world will never be the same. Zane has always loved the ladies, but after a night with the Irish lass Cady, she is the only one filling his thoughts. But how can you have a relationship with someone who is more than an ocean away. You will want to read this one!

Off Season marks the 18th book from Sawyer Bennett that I’ve read this year and it did not disappoint.

In Off Season, we get the story of Cady, Renner & Flynn’s Irish cousin that we met in Off Course, and Zane, Linc’s team mate that we met in Off the Record. When visiting her family in the states, Cady has a one night stand with Zane that starts off a friendship where the two stay connected by email, text and phone. Both realizing that the one night they shared wasn’t enough, but not sure what else they could share beyond a long distance friendship.

Cady and Zane have to make the ultimate choice in what matters most. A risk. A chance. Can Cady give up her life in Ireland and start fresh in the states? Could Zane’s career sustain a hiatus to see where this relationship can go? One thing is certain – these two had an amazing night that even the distance couldn’t touch.

I absolutely have come to love this author and all of her works. There were a few times this year when I was teetering on the edge of a book funk and I just knew that picking up a SB title would save me from that fate. Every story in this series has been enjoyed and although the focus is on a new couple, she brings you so much of those that came before.

If you have not yet read a book by Sawyer Bennett, do it. Anyone that you pickup will be the perfect one, and you won’t be able to stop with just one. But beyond the stellar writing and storytelling, her companion novel series are written in a way that also allows you to read them as a standalone. She touches on the prior characters but doesn’t give it all away as she moves you forward with the newest couple.

4.5 christmas stars

Such a sweet novella! Really loved it as an addition to the series, but also because Zane and Cady made such a great match. I could have read a book about them, but I'm glad we at least got this. Great way to get into some christmas cheer!

Off Season is novella 5.5 of the Off series by Sawyer Bennett. A standalone, contemporary romance told from both points of view with a happy ending.

✔️ Hockey Player
✔️ reformed playboy
✔️Irish heroine
✔️One night stand to pen pals to lovers

You can never get enough of a good thing and the Off series by Sawyer Bennett has been great to binge on. This is Cady Dunne and Zane Kavanaugh’s story. Cady is Renner and Flynn Caldwell’s cousin and Zane is Linc Caldwell’s hockey teammate.

The two meet and have an explosive one night stand and then Cady goes back to Ireland to continue her master’s degree. Even though Zane is a love them and leave them kind of guy, there’s something about Cady that prompts him to get her email via Linc.

They start to correspond and soon their connections develops into something that transcends time and space, yet they need to find a way to make their relationship work.

I love reading novellas because they give you glimpses of the couples you previously read and loved and give you a new story to savor. I could feel the desire between Cady and Zane and wanted them to find their happiness so very much!

I liked that we got to see all the ancillary characters get a happy ending and this one was sweet. This could easily have been a full length novel. It was a good story but I suppose it was done with the cousin.

This was a fun series, I listened to the whole thing and enjoyed the narrators. Will read more from this author when I want fluff.

*Off Season is a part of the Naughty & Nice: A Holiday Collection by 11 NYT Best Selling Authors. Make sure to check it out - on sale for a limited time!*

Off Season is an adorable novella that tells the story of professional hockey player Zane Kavanaugh and Cady Dunne, a graduate student. Both characters are mentioned in prior Off Series books but you do NOT need to read those to appreciate this story.

Cady is in the US from Ireland visiting her cousin, whose husband plays hockey with Zane. The reader can feel the instant attraction between these two and when they do connect, it is hot and just WOW!

But Cady is returning home across the pond, to the other side of the earth and how can you be with someone who is so many time zones away? So this is just one night of bliss or is it more?

In this one, I loved Zane; he wants Cady; he has no interest in another woman; he wants this to work. I adored how Zane was faithful before they were even a couple and I loved how creative he was when they were apart.

Watching Zane and Cady communicate over the phone, via text and Skype all added to their connection as they build a friendship atop an already established sexual connection. The friendship is truly one of my favorite things about this book, these two are forced because of the distance to truly get to know each other.

As this story wraps up, the reader is reminded how adorable Zane is and how he wears his heart on his sleeve when it comes to Cady.

The happy these two create was perfect for them!

Oh. Hell. Yes. I LOVED Sawyer Bennett's Off series, so finding our there'd be more of it kinda felt like all my Christmases came at once...

After a one night stand with her cousin's hot hockey teammate, Cady Dunne heads back to Ireland thinking she'll never see, or speak to, Zane Kavanaugh again. But when he sends her an out-of-the-blue email, a friendship forms that's strong and special. And when that friendship starts to become something more, how will Cady and Zane cope with the distance between them?

Yep. It's simple really; I loved it. Off Season was sexy, fun and really enjoyable. I loved Cady and Zane together, even when - especially when - they were apart. Their emails, texts and phone calls oozed chemistry and definitely had this reviewer hoping for a Christmas miracle - or a HEA anyway.

A quick read devoured before bedtime, Off Season was a novella that I couldn't stop reading, and my only complaint is that it wasn't longer. I want more. Damn it.

Off Season is a novella in the Off series and can be read standalone. No cliffhanger. ~ Beth, 5 stars

Sawyer has done it again!! :)

I have been a fan of The Off Series from the beginning and I have loved all the stories. This on, Off Season, was a great treat for the holidays.

Its a little novella featuring Cady who we met in Off Course, and Zane who be briefly met in Off the Record. She lives in Ireland and he plays hockey with Linc.

Cady was visiting the states and went to visit her cousin Linc and thats where she meets the sexy Zane. From the moment they met, the chemistry was insane. Of course her time was up and she had to to back home to Ireland.

What happens when two people have a connection you cant explain? They become friends and communicate for months. Things change and when it did..wow! I loved every minute of it. So what happens? Will they be able to continue this while he's in Arizona and she's in Ireland? You have to read to find out :)

Checks all the boxes of a sports romance book. A studious girl has a one night stand with an nhl play, they converse over email (why not text?) and they fall in love. Super fast paced so it is an easy add to your reading goal without sparing a ton of time, which is just want I needed. I feel like the book could have been at least 100 pages longer to flesh out the relationship, characters, and world building more but at the same time it is a novella.

I enjoyed this cute novella that had some sexy times, however, the main plot was building a long distance friendship which lays a solid foundation for a good relationship. After a one night stand with hockey player Zane, during a vacation in Phoenix, Cady returns home to Ireland and her studies.

We met Cady Dunne in Off Course since she is Renner and Flynn's cousin from Ireland and she is also close with Linc and Nix. She has been on vacation in the US visiting her friends and family, and on her last night she shares a "No regrets" night with Linc's hockey team mate Zane Kavanaugh. It ends up being one night neither of them could forget and leads to international email and text exchanges. As they try to develop a friendship while living a continent away, it is hard to stop feelings from developing. But communication and random visits are not usually trademarks for a long lasting relationship.

Can these tow find a way to merge their busy lives and live in one place or are they doomed to be the one that got away?

I adored Zane and Cady. He was previously a playboy hockey player who was not looking for love. He was charismatic, a bit bossy, funny, and sexy. Cady knocked him on his ass. She was edgy, smart, and sassy. She was not sure Zane would ever see her as more than a friend, but they shared so much even when they were not physically together. They found a shared intimacy, interest, and connection that managed to grow despite distance. I could feel their longing and fears that they would never work while at the same time knowing they met that special person who was inconveniently located across the globe. I loved their witty interactions and felt their chemistry.

I enjoyed glimpses with other Off series couples, Linc and Ever and Renner and Cillian. I like how their lives are all intertwined with Renner, Flynn, Linc, and Nix and that they had long standing close relationships. The Off series always makes me smile and I was glad to get to revisit the series and some favorite characters. This was a sweet, humorous, romantic holiday romp with likable characters told in dual point of view. I devoured it in one sitting and it reminded me of how much I really love this series.

This can be read as a stand alone and is part of the Naughty & Nice: A Holiday Collection

Wow Wow Wow ....Zane Kavanaugh is a professional ice hockey player for the Phoenix Coyotes and is known as a player....so why when he meets Cady Dunne does he feel that the No Regrets One Night Stand feeling is NOT what he is feeling !! Does Cady feel the same thing or does the realization of her living in Ireland and he in the States make a difference. But after a few months of emailing, texting and or talking in the phone everyday change things between them . Can they make a LONG.... distance relationship work or is it just to much for them to try and figure out how it make it work ?? With his NHL career and her studies for her Masters Degree which one will or try to give up there dream for love ?? Zane and his sexy deep rich voice will get you every time !!

This was another in a long line of fantastic stories from Sawyer !! This series in phenomenal , not just because I am a BiG Ice Hockey fan but because I can relate to the players and there schedules and how it is all incorporated into the stories, a Firefighters Wife, a Music Lover and a Thankful Individual for our Veterans.....but also because the writing is on POINT !!

It was awesome to hear and have the other characters from past books in this series come to there aid !! Loved it !! Linc, Nix, Flynn, Cillian ....

Well Happy Holidays to you too!

Even at Christmas time Sawyer can still bedazzle her readers with this sweet Novella (and I thought that the Off Series was gone for good). I have loved every Off Book that Sawyer has written this book no different.

The other great thing about this book is that Sawyer and both myself are hockey junkies and the male character Zane Kavanaugh is a professional hockey player thank you girlfriend! Zane was briefly in Off The Record you know one of Linc's teamates. The female Cady Dunne was in Off Course you know when we all traveled to Ireland for Cillian and Renner.

Ok enough of going down memory land Off Season is about boy meets girl, Zane and Cady have a one night stand (A Sawyer Bennett one night stand) and then Cady goes back to Ireland after staying with her cousin and Zane...well Zane can't seem to forget Cady. And so the story goes....Can an Ocean separate what the heart wants?

This is story will make you feel warm and fuzzy and a couple of things after you read it. Oh come on it's Sawyer for crying out loud!

Merry Christmas and Enjoy!

The Off Series was how I first became acquainted with Sawyer's work, and I have been an avid fan ever since. What a precious way to wrap up this series, than with this sweet Holiday novella. This was a straight forward, old fashioned, woo the girl romance. The intimacy was not only physical (which was hot, btw) but the emails and connection made with this couple was sheer brilliance. It was simple, yet effective, and it was the perfect way for this couple and the reader to get to know more about it each other, and to see the magic of Sawyer come to life. Also loved the subtle references to characters from some of the previous Off stories. When you are in the mood for a sweet love story that will make your heart smile and make you feel all warm inside, Off Season is for you. Thank you Sawyer for the ARC, which is a most appreciated early Holiday gift. Looking forward to more hot hockey players in my future, LOL!

Received this for an honest review:

Just a short novella from the "Off Series."

This deals with Zane a professional hockey player in Phoenix and Cady, a student working on her masters degree at University, a cousin from Ireland. Cady goes to Phoenix to visit with Linc and Ever and meets Zane. One night of passion fuels a quest to get to know each other through e-mails, texts, and phone calls with an ocean between them.

Four months and only two interactions of personal contact and they know more about each other than most people who date on a daily basis. What started out as a friendship quickly blossoms into more.

Will the friendship and the bond they have developed be able to stand the test of time and the obstacles in their way ? Will Zane give up his NHL career to be closer to Cady ?

Thank You for the opportunity to read this short novel. It's nice to touch base with the old crew.

Ok read. I didn't hate it, didn't love it. It was ridiculously fast to read, taking me about an hour and a half. The formatting was a little weird, the writing simplistic and kind of juvenile. The characters were adorable, and although their emails tended to be on the cheesy side, it was a cute way for them to develop their relationship. Nothing really happens, there's no real drama or angst, so if you're just looking for an uplifting story to pass the time on a Sunday morning, this is great. I've read one other book in this series and I had similar thoughts about it, so I doubt I'll be picking up any others, though.
