An emotionally devastating love story full of love, trauma, heartache, and healing. Not Another Yesterday is the third book in the Halfway Broken series.
We don’t always grow where we’re loved. Sometimes we grow when we’re forced to face ourselves... alone.
Ronan and Cat have fought hard to leave their painful pasts behind, carving out a fragile peace. But just as Cat dares to envision the life they could build together, the shadows of Ronan’s history begin to close in on them.
Haunted by the trauma of unspeakable abuse, Ronan fears he’s doomed to repeat the destructive cycle that has defined his family for generations. When buried secrets are uncovered, Ronan makes a gut-wrenching decision to shield those he loves most from the pain he believes he is destined to bring.
Determined, Cat confronts her own past and the emotional patterns she has long ignored. As she struggles to rebuild her life, she begins to see her own strength and understand that, sometimes, we have to lose what we love most to truly find ourselves.
As their lives take unexpected turns, Ronan and Cat learn that while the past may never fully let go, it’s the choices they make today that will define their future. Together.
ARC review of Not Another Yesterday- *No spoilers* Not Another Yesterday is the third installment in the Halfway Broken Series. After reading both Tiny Fractures and Edge of Unbroken, I thought there couldn’t possibly be anything more heartbreaking than what’s already taken place during the previous books, I mean these characters need a break!
I was wrong. Out of the three books, I definitely cried the most during this book. My heart leapt out of my body while these characters went through so many struggles. The consistent ups and downs kept me turning the page and yearning for more!
J.V writes with such page turning ease it caused me to constantly be reevaluating my own life choices. Such as, do I have time to finish this chapter before I regret my life choices in the morning.
To say I liked this book would be a massive understatement, I devoured this book and look forward reading to any future projects.
If you haven’t read Tiny Fractures, start there! It’s available on Kindle Unlimited!
Edge of Unbroken releases to Kindle Unlimited on October 21st, 2025.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book. This book (this series) consumed me! I felt all the feels and I didn’t want it to end.
I read lot of books, they tend to blur together one into the next, I have read standard length (300-400pg) standalone books I’ve just wanted to end and felt dragged out. I think it takes something extremely special and such immense talent to write 3 continuous 5-600pg books that I wished wouldn’t end and J.V. Reese has delivered that rare magic.
If you haven’t already go read the first two books in the Halfway Broken series, Tiny Fractures and Edge of Unbroken so you can read Not Another Yesterday
This entire series is a rip your heart out, make you laugh, make you smile, sob story. And I loved every book.
Not Another Yesterday is easily my favorite of the series. We really get to connect with the side characters, which added so much depth to the plot. I already had some favorite side characters and now I’m wishing they could have their own book.
The main characters, as always, were dealt such a tough hand. They honestly can’t catch a break, but the growth that their connection showed was beautiful. Cat and Ronan are one of my favorite book couples.
This entire series were 5 star reads, but this one was 6 stars. It has laid claim to one of my top five favorite books ever. This series could potentially be my favorite romance series. Do yourself a favor and go read it.
I was blessed enough to get an ARC of this book. It was my most anticipated read of 2025! J.V Reese is such an amazing writer, the way she wrote Cat & Ronan’s story was amazing, you will hold on to every word! She does a remarkable job portraying the emotional weight of trauma without making the story feel too heavy. I can’t wait to read more from J.V. Reese I am certain her next book will be just as amazing!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Thank you JV Reese for an advanced copy of this book
This is one of those reads that rips your heart out. This is book 3 and MUST be read in order. I was really hoping Cat and Ronan would catch a break in this one
Spoiler alert… they didn’t. And there was some on page stuff that made it really difficult to read. We see them with other people, especially Ronan and it was awful.
The story ends on a happily for now, which I can accept but I’ll be thinking about this book for a long, long time.
The surprising new characters add in so much to the story, and we get some backstory on others that really just filled out the whole storyline. JV Reese has created such an incredible universe with this series, that I hope each character gets their own book down the line!
That plot twist absolutely BROKE ME!! I completely broke down and cried, and my own memories of a very similar situation came flooding back. Reese has somehow managed to find even more situations to throw at Cat and Ran. I got to the end, and was so dang happy until!!!! Until I read the epilogue, and now I’m scared for what’s coming, that’s all I’m going to say on that.
Reese, that was beyond a 5 star read, idk how you do it, but please don’t ever stop this series!
This is the third installment in the series and let me tell you this the best series I have ever read. Ronan and Cat still go through so much to come together again. The push and pull these two go through will gut you and root for them to get on the same page. The side characters are so loyal it will touch your heart. The cliffhanger will have your jaw hit the floor. I can’t wait for the next book.
J.V Reese did it again!!! This is the 3rd book to the halfway broken series. First book is Toney Fractures and the second is The Edge of Unbroken. Like the other two book it gave me all the feels and I still can’t get enough. I hopes eventually she writes more and I’m sure no matter what she writes it will be a masterpiece like this book and the others. This book had me laughing crying and wanting to throw my kindle a time or two but I couldn’t put it down. If you live the boys of tommen series this will be perfect for you.
WOAH OKAY J.V. does it AGAIN! Just when you thought she couldn’t possibly include anymore trauma, she does!! Cat and Ran have gone through the worst possible situations, and J.V. doesn’t hold back on letting them go through new ones!
This book is equally as heavy, but in a different way than the first 2 so PLEASE be kind to yourself if these themes aren’t something you’re comfortable with!
After 2 books of chaos and hurt, Cat and Ran are finally able to BE together! YAYYY!! No outside forces pulling them apart…right!? (‘:
NOPE. These two may be at a more “quiet” chapter in their life, but they are still going through it!! We also get a peek into the lives of so many new characters that have been in the background for previous books and in true J.V. fashion, she makes you attached to all of them. I’m a big character>plot fan, so as long as I love the characters, I can enjoy a book about them doing the most mundane things, like going to work or cooking! And EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER is so complex and different, but written with the same attention and care that I need spin-offs of all of them!!! LIKE VADA?!? GIRL YOU ARE A MYSTERY!!! But also, I HATEEEEEEE how so many of them handled situations!! And I keep forgetting how young these kids are. LIKE GIRL YOUR PREFRONTAL CORTEX HASN’T DEVELOPED! If a book can make me feel REAL feelings (both positive and negative) for characters, then it’s done its job!
The setting of this book is probably my favorite of the 3 because we get SO many cozy ranch and small town scenes!!! I want to go to MONTANA stat!!! I can tell that J.V. had fun writing about the light of the ranch compared to the darkness that Ran experienced with it in book 2!!!
I also don’t understand how she’s able to consistently write 500-600 page books and have you captivated from beginning to end. Her writing is SO personal, SO real!!!
This is also the spiciest of the 3 books. (9 open door scenes) Which kind of threw me for a loop because although this is a romance, sex wasn’t a huge focus for the first two books so I’m not sure how I feel about it being heavily included this time around. It’s understandable why J.V. used this many scenes for the sake of healing and growth, but it also seemed more lustful than before so it took me out of the narrative at times. We’d finally be at an emotional point, or the characters would start to open up and then BAM…spicy time. I know this is some people’s jam, but if you’re a low or no spice girly, you may not enjoy it!! This is also personal preference! Not a flaw of the book as a whole!!!
Overall, J.V. has continued to make you fall completely in love with her storytelling!! I never thought I would love a trauma romance because of how heavy they can be, but wow I LOVE THESE COMPLEX CHARACTERS!! I need more!!! AND also, I need to ask… J.V. GIRLLLLL WHO HURT YOU?!?
I recommend to anyone who enjoys: 🗻Character heavy plots 🗻Angsty relationships 🗻Trauma & Healing 🗻Strong friendships 🗻Small town vibessssss
This books includes previous topics but dabbles in new heavy topics such as child loss and intense verbal fights. These characters make dumb decisions, so reading about their process can be infuriating! This is NOT a light read by any means!! BE KIND TO YOURSELF!
Obviously 5 Stars. As if there will ever be enough stars to give a J.V. Reese Masterpiece...
"It was a small, stubborn belief that tomorrow doesn't have to echo the worst parts of before. That I can choose something different. That this life I'm building, still imperfect, still unfinished, is not just another yesterday."
Honestly, I finished this book late last night and as I laid in bed I thought of all the beautiful ways I could explain in my review what I felt reading this book. This series, if I am being honest. And then I slept on it and it all felt like it fell to short.
J.V. Reese is top 3 for me. And I say that with all the seriousness in my body. Her writing is unmatched by almost every other author I have read this year. And I am at 53 for just ARCs, if that tells you anything at all. But, I digress....
Not Another Yesterday PUT👏ME👏THROUGH👏IT👏 I'm serious when I say that I experienced the full range of my emotional capacity while reading this book. I laughed out loud, embarrassingly so, while on the treadmill at the gym, followed by having to leave my workout unfinished because I was crying in public!
The strength in the characters she writes. The depth of even the smallest supporting member is something to marvel at. I always worry I will give too much away with reviews so they really dont tell you much at all. But I will say this:
Miranda is HILARIOUS and so necessary to this story. Love her. She needs it. Shes a funny b!tch! Shane...Oh Shane. He is the best friend that everyone needs. And I will fight YOU ALL for him, just saying that now. Daddy Stevenson and Daddy Soult will redeem themselves. Be patient.
Ronan and Cats story is EPIC and deserves every bit of attention that it can get. Why else would we be yearning for more even after almost 2000 pages of their story across these 3 books? I would not change or criticize it in any way. Im only sad that it is over, until we are blessed with someone elses story (nudge nudge) in the friend group!
If you want to read anything this year that moves you, gives you hope or just messes you up a bit do not sleep on the Halfway Broken series.
✦ 𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬 - • second chance romance • emotional healing • small town vibes • angsty romance • friends to lovers
✦ 𝐌𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 - “Not Another Yesterday” is about Ronan and Cat, two people who have been hurt deeply in the past. They thought they had moved on, but life has a way of bringing people back together when they least expect it. All the feelings they tried so hard to forget come rushing back, and suddenly, they’re forced to face the emotions they buried long ago. The story is full of raw emotions, love, heartbreak, and tender moments that make your heart ache and smile at the same time. J.V. Reese writes emotions so beautifully that every glance, every touch, and every conversation between Ronan and Cat feels real, heartfelt, and touching. The small-town setting adds such cozy vibes, making the whole story feel warm and comforting despite the angst. The slow-burn romance is perfectly balanced with the right amount of tension and longing, keeping you on your toes and rooting for them the entire time. I loved watching both characters grow, heal, and slowly learn to trust love again. Their journey is so relatable and emotional, and it truly pulls you in. Every page kept me hooked, and I could feel every part of their story, every heartbreak, and every tiny moment of happiness. Thank you so much to the author for the free ARC!
Where do I begin. I have been in love with Ran and Cat's story since the first book(Tiny Fractures). So much has happened to them together and seperate. As I started in the last "chapter" of their story I had no idea where J.V. was going to take us. Well let me tell you she sent me on a roller coaster. There were so many highs and a few lows. The way Ran is so in tune with Cat as she is with him it is as if they were ying/yang. The way Ran tries to do everything in his power to keep Cat safe and away from his trauma when all the while all she wants to do is be there for him in whatever he needs. As in true Ran fashion sometimes this causes him to put up his walls. And they are so very very high. As I came up to one of the intense situations in the story I knew I just knew what was going to happen. And I bawled my eyes out. (I am a very emotional reader). She brought in some background characters to the front, Ran's dad and his wife Penny, Cat's parents. I was not a fan of Cat's father however by the end of the book he had redeemed himself. There are so many things I want to bring to this review. I could go on and on. However what I really want to say is this. Ran and Cat's story is a tale of epic love and tragedy. This series will forever be embedded into my bones.
Thank you J.V. for creating these beautiful story and characters.
This is my first time reading a novel by J.V. Reese and I was lucky enough to read the first two books in the series to understand this last book in the series. I went through a rollercoaster of emotions. 🥹 The way that I was at the edge of my seat the whole time I read this book, and that ending, made it all worth it! This is the third book of the series titled “Halfway Broken”, and you need to read the first two to fully understand what Cat and Roman have gone through to understand where they are in the book. And it truly had me rooting for them because they deserve to be with each other. Regardless of what has happened, they are each other’s soulmates and a love like that can be found once in a lifetime.
Life does have an interesting way of testing people in relationships to see what they can survive and see if love truly wins. And these two, man, these two really go through it in the first two books. But this last one, it truly made me feel like they are finally going to be at a place where they both deserve happiness together. This book does deal with some heavy topics and there is a trigger warning page to see what the book is about. But, for now, this is the ending of the series and I cannot wait to see if there is a continuation to the series due to that cliff hanger 😨
I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy of J.V. Reese third book in the Halfway Broken series. While I was reading, I kept thinking "I'm not liking where this story is going." I kept feeling like something was missing. When I got to the last page I wanted to scream "I NEED MORE!" You can not just end like! Scrolling for more story I realized that my original thoughts of "something is missing" was inaccurate. The only thing that was missing was more words. More pages. More Ronan and Cat and friends. I am hoping there is more to come. This can not be the end. If you have not read this series I suggest you run out and get all three books. You will not want to wait to continue Ronan and Cat's story. You will want more Shane and Steve (who was missed greatly by me) and the rest of the group. There were a few things I could do with out or didn't love. Miranda was the biggest one. She should have been left behind in book 2. I don't understand why that twist needed to happen. Secondly, what the heck was up with Cat's dad? Why was he so cold and rude to Ronan? I felt like I had missed something in a previous book. Lastly, I do not feel like there was an ending. No final. I hope this means there will be a fourth book?????
This book completely broke me open and then put me back together in the softest, most emotional way. It is raw and full of heartbreak, but also filled with so much hope that it lingers long after the last page. The writing is beautiful and heavy with feeling, the kind that pulls you in until you forget where you are. Every chapter felt like a confession, every moment like a wound being stitched shut with love and pain at the same time.
The characters feel real, flawed, messy, and trying so hard to be better. The way trauma, love, and forgiveness are explored here hits deep. There is a scene where Ronan says, “I’m still learning that surviving isn’t the same as living.” That single line stayed with me. It sums up everything about this book. It is about healing at your own pace, about letting love be a light even when you do not feel like you deserve it.
This is not a story you rush through. It is one you sit with. It is quiet in places, loud in emotion, and haunting in how honest it is about pain and recovery.
Spice: 🌶️🌶️ Cozy: ☕☕☕ (gentle moments between storms) Chills: 👻👻👻👻 (emotional, not eerie) Action: ⚔️⚔️ (personal and psychological battles)
Five stars that truly felt like six. This one will stay with me for a long time.
When you think there couldn’t possibly be any more heartbreak, J.V. Reese writes book three and proves us wrong.
Cat and Ronan have endured so much. They’ve faced endless struggles, and at some point, I just wanted life to give them a break. Honestly, I wanted to crawl inside my Kindle and hug them.
These books are heavy, but this one in particular hit me the hardest. I actually had to pause while reading because my emotions were all over the place and my heart ached for them.
It ends with a plot twist, and now I have no idea what’s coming next. I just want to see them free from all the pain and finally find the peace and happiness they deserve. Their souls have been through so much, and I’m rooting for them to find their light again.
Also, there are certain characters I won’t name, but they seriously need to redeem themselves or just disappear from the story, because UGH!
I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series. And remember, you need to read books one and two first to truly understand what’s happening here.
Thank you so to J.V. Reese and Happily Booked for this ARC!
The Halfway Broken Series is an emotionally powerful trilogy that takes readers on a journey through heartbreak healing and a personal growth from moments that make you laugh out loud to scenes that hit with genuine, emotional weight. each book delivers a deeply encouraging experience. One of the trilogy‘s greatest strength is its ability to balance lighthearted moment with heavier than the characters feel authentic and layered, making it easy to connect with their struggles and triumph as a story progresses across the three books you can see cleared development, not just in the plot, but in the emotional depth of the characters What makes this series stand out is how it captures the complexity of human emotions. It doesn’t shy away from difficult topics yet it still leaves room for hope and resilience each installment builds on the last creating a cohesive and satisfying overall narrative. Overall, the halfway broken series is a compelling and heartfelt trilogy that will stay with breeders long after they finish the final book it’s a must read for anyone who enjoys stories that blend humor, pain, and growth into a meaningful journey.
Whew.. What an emotional rollercoaster for my heart. And let me just say that J.V. Reese always brings her A game with every book she writes, because she certainly knows how to keep us readers on our toes. She writes a truly honest, raw, and heartfelt story with the Halfway Broken series that is so incredibly captivating.
Not Another Yesterday is filled with pain, loss, and heartbreak. It’s also about breaking the cycle and choosing who you become and most importantly the healing power of love. Cat and Ran are my number one couple and I am just so invested in their journey. Not to mention the wonderful supportive side characters, who I hope get their own stories.. Please J.V!
Get your Kleenex box ready because you will definitely need it with this book. And the ending… What.. Holy smokes! I did not see that coming, but the brilliance of J.V. is to expect the unexpected. Now I am very much eagerly anticipating book four.
A huge thank you to J.V. Reese for an ARC copy for review!
"I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.” Not Another Yesterday, the third book in the Halfway Broken series, delivers a powerful story of trauma, healing, and the fight to build a future from the wreckage of the past. Ronan and Cat have carved out a fragile peace, but when Ronan’s painful history resurfaces, he fears he’s destined to repeat the cycle of abuse that has haunted his family for generations. As buried secrets come to light, Ronan makes a heartbreaking choice to protect those he loves, even at great personal cost. Refusing to give up, Cat confronts her own past and begins to rediscover her strength. Emotionally intense and deeply affecting, Not Another Yesterday explores resilience, self discovery, and the enduring power of love proving that while the past may linger, the future is shaped by the choices they make together. I hope more books will come. Cause this series lets u see all the ugly but also beautiful things about, life, love, family, friends, trauma. A must read for everyone!💛
I just love Ronan and Cat and the supporting characters that JV Reese has created in this series. And, as usual, my heart was ripped out, tossed around, and then somehow put back together for the happy ending (that came after life altering events) we’ve been hoping for all along.
If you like trauma (past and present), romance, found family, a protective MMC, very relatable characters, and some secrets, then I highly recommend this book/series!
This is an emotional one, with a trope that hit extremely close to home, and I was worried about how I’d handle it… but it was written with such care and compassion that it was more like therapy than reliving second hand trauma.
The character development and relationships throughout this book and the entire series are some of the best I’ve ever read. You will laugh, you’ll cry, and you’ll probably want to reach into the pages and slap some sense into them at a few points lol
And that epilogue?! I feel like there’s something brewing that’s going to keep us involved with these characters for a long time and I’m not mad about it ☺️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶🌶🌶 I've put off this review for a bit to process the amount of emotional whiplash I willingly put myself through. I cannot count the amounts of times on both hands JV Reese has made me cry in this completed series, and I'm heartbroken. It's over on the perfect note it ended. (I need a view into the future!) This is definitely the spiciest book. And I am torn on whether it is the heaviest after Edge of Unbroken. It is definitely incredibly heart wrenching. The characters all still lovable and we are lucky to have good friends like family to fall back on. The little bits of humor perfectly placed to break up the dark draining moments. JV Reese is perfect when it comes to literary balance and she has a way with helping the reader process the heavy pieces while learning to heal alongside Cat and Ronan. What an incredible journey it has been watching them work apart and then together again into the powerful element defying couple they are.
This story broke me and healed me all at once. 💔 Ronan and Cat’s journey is raw, painful, and full of heart. Both are fighting to escape the weight of their pasts, clinging to the hope of something better—a life built on love instead of fear.
Ronan’s struggle with his family’s dark legacy and the trauma he’s endured is heartbreaking. His determination to protect those he loves, even if it means losing them, absolutely gutted me. And Cat… her strength, her growth, and her courage to face the truth of her own pain were so powerful.
This isn’t just a love story—it’s about survival, healing, and the messy, beautiful work of rebuilding yourself after life shatters you. It reminds you that even when the past still echoes, you can still choose love, hope, and a future worth fighting for. ❤️
Ronan and Cat return in Not Another Yesterday, which adds to their story in so many unexpected ways. The two are struggling to figure out their place in the world and with each other while Ronan is terrified of hurting Cat or his future family. What this journey has in store for them may be a rollercoaster, but they learn yet again that their love can overcome so much.
I will start by saying I did read the first under 100 pages of book 3 in my copy of book 2, I genuinely don’t know if that was on purpose or an error (either way it didn’t harm anything). But I did love this story. It’s gut wrenching in so many ways and adds a lot of complexity and more realistic teenage/young adult decisions and struggles into the mix. I love that Ronan got to have some hope in the end and I adore these characters so much. Loved this series.
This author is new to me and have not read the two previous books prior to this, so am going in blind.
And boy, it did not disappoint, these characters endure emotions and heartbreak, the author wrote this with such intensity, bringing realism and authenticity that no matter what life throws at you, in darkness there is light, and where there is light, it will lead the way.
You will be consumed, have your heart ripped out, then put back in, you will smile, cry and laugh so hard, you will connect with Cat and Ronan as if you were experiencing what they felt and endured.
The plot held so much depth which they expanded on through growth, the characters connection flourishing, it was beautiful.
Highly recommend both the author and the book. Can’t wait to read what this author writes next.
I received an ARC. Therefore, I am submitting a voluntary review.
From the very first page, Not Another Yesterday grabbed me by the heart. Somehow, J.V. Reese managed to shatter me all over again, in the best possible way. After reading Tiny Fractures and Edge of Unbroken, I was convinced nothing could hurt (or heal) me more than what Ronan and Cat had already endured. I was wrong.
💖 What I Loved * Ronan and Cat’s connection: Their chemistry is so raw, so visceral, it’s impossible not to feel every ounce of their love and pain. Their push and pull, their stubborn walls, their quiet moments of tenderness. Every scene is perfection. * The emotional depth: J.V. Reese doesn’t just write stories, she makes you feel them. Every chapter peeled back another layer of vulnerability, and I found myself fully immersed in their world. * The side characters: From Miranda’s perfectly timed humour to Shane’s loyal, protective energy, every supporting character adds warmth, depth, and life to the story. * Family redemption arcs: Seeing Cat’s father and Ronan’s family find their own paths to healing gave the story such satisfying depth. The growth, the forgiveness, it all felt earned. * The writing: J.V. Reese writes with such ease and intensity that I found myself saying, “Just one more chapter,”until suddenly it was 3 AM and I was ugly-crying on the couch. Totally worth it. * The small-town charm: The cozy, atmospheric backdrop made every heartbreaking moment hit harder and every glimmer of hope shine brighter. * That ending: The cliffhanger? My jaw literally dropped. I wasn’t ready, but I loved every second of it.
💔 What I Didn’t Love * Absolutely nothing. This book deserves all the stars, every single one.
Final Thoughts: Ronan and Cat’s story isn’t just another romance it’s a journey. A beautiful, gut-wrenching, unforgettable exploration of love, loss, and the courage to try again. Their bond feels eternal, like something that seeps into your bones and refuses to leave. If you read just one series this year, let it be Halfway Broken. You won’t be sorry, you’ll be forever changed.
JV has entrusted me to read this whole series & provide feedback for all 3 of her books! (Talk about anxiety!)
This book is 5 stars & not just because I was a part of the ARC family, but because it is beautifully written. Every book of hers has consumed me and made me feel alive because of the real and raw emotions that the books make me feel.
This book was the icing to the cake, the spice was spicy & that is definitely new!
This book will have you pausing everything else going on around you and consume you from start to finish. Be ready for an emotional roller coaster but the good kind. This book will make you see things in a different perspective but for the better.
Make sure to read Tiny Fractures & Edge of Unbroken before you read this bad boy! I mean good boy!
This book had me speechless and bawling my eyes out. A beautiful story of love, loss, found family, and breaking the cycle of abuse. Main point: we all have a choice and we can break the cycle if we choose to. With love, healing, and determination we are not bound to repeat the sins of those whom have come before us.
The yearning and romance in this book and the entire series is top tier. Thank you, J.V. for writing such a beautiful and heartfelt story of second chances and healing. Ronan and Cat have a love that is so raw and real. Bravo, you made these characters so unforgettable! Cheers to whatever you write next!
4.29.26 - book 3 of 3 - this was the best book in the trilogy. I wasn’t sure where it would go since the end of book 2 wasn’t a cliffhanger but almost a HFN, but this one blew the other two out of the water. It was LONG, even for me so that’s saying something - which is why I am giving it 4 instead of 5 stars. The first book was also the first for this author, and her writing progressed throughout the three books. I wasn’t sad to leave this little world, and hope she may write about some others mentioned (Shay and Tori, Vada, and especially Ran’s brother Steve). Thinking there could be more in store for Ronan and Cat too!
I'm not sure how I feel about this book. On one hand, it's beautifully written and emotionally charged; on the other hand, I think Cat should have run for the hills. I don’t believe Ronan is good for her in any way. His past and inflexible nature drain the life out of any true relationship.
And don’t even get me started on Miranda and what she and Ronan did. Seriously, their friendship should have ended after her attempt and confession in book two. This only solidifies my utter dislike for both her and Ronan.
Oh, it sounds like I didn’t enjoy it, but I did! That’s why I gave it five stars. I love a book that makes me rage at the characters.
Such an heartbreaking and bittersweet story. When an author can take someone' s pain and grief and total obliteration of this heart, yet make you never want to quit reading their story, that is not just storytelling, its art. Watching how Roman and Cat come through such devastation and come out on top, that's triumph. To say I loved this book is such exaggeration. I loved it and s cherished it and this book will stay with me for a very long time.
