"The power radiating from her was both breathtaking and terrifying." (Ch 1)

Dark fantasy with a touch of romance and a bit of horror.

So apparently, I read book 2 1st (this book), which is why I was feeling like something was missing. Indeed, book 1 did have the backstory I was craving.

Book opens up into a battle.

"She had spent her entire life running. From the people hunting her. From the truth about herself. From anyone who tried to get too close.
But Rowan wasn’t running from her.
Not now.
Not ever.
So she let go.
And Rowan caught her." (Ch 33)

The chapters are short, which I like. Mutiple character POVs in 3rd person.

Love the little injection of horror and tense moments where you could almost hear the character's heart pounding against the pages.

Then there is Kaevra's crow, Noctis, wasn't really sure what to think of him and how or if he would turn out to be more than what he appeared. I made him sus in my head the entire time 🤣

There would be grief. There would be pain and loss. Power. With savage battles... darkness... falling and chaos.

"There was no time for mourning, no time to stop and break beneath the weight of what they had lost. If they lingered, if they gave themselves even a second to feel the full force of their grief, it would consume them." (Ch 29)

Struggled with keeping a connection to this one, nothing in particular, but just didn't feel very immersed or invested. It started to a little bit more about 3/5ths of the way in and even more toward the end. We'll see how book 3 goes.

After the cliffhanger in book one, I knew I couldn’t wait to get my hands on The Corvus Court! I just had to know what would happen to our main characters and where the story would take them. LCB did not disappoint! Dare I say that this book was even better than the first one! Don’t get me wrong I absolutely loved the first book but there was just something about this book that had me constantly on the edge of my seat! I loved that there were moments that I did not expect! Kaevra grew in ways that I don’t think any of us would have expected! I loved that we got to see different POVs throughout this book and got to learn a little more about the characters that were side characters in book one! Once again, LCB is the master of emotional damage and cliffhanger! I cannot wait to see what happens to our beloved characters in book 3!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review – The Corvus Court by L.C.B

Omg… I’m numb after that ending 😭💔 I honestly don’t know how to process it. This book was everything — power, sacrifice, rebellion, heartbreak all woven into Kaevra’s journey as she balances who she was with who the world demands she become. With enemies tightening their grip, rebellion flickering like fire across the kingdom, and the weight of her shifting magic pressing down on her, every choice felt monumental.

And THAT ending… “She killed her own.. ‘SPOILER’. There’s no light left for a girl after that. Only shadow. And when she seeks it— I’ll be waiting.” 😳🔥 My heart is shattered.

Let’s talk characters because L.C.B has destroyed me in the best way.

✨ Finn — he wasn’t even in the story for long and still I broke a little inside in those chapters 😢 iykyk.
✨ Adara — poor girl, my heart hurt so much for her 💔.
✨ Dresden & Maeryn — still adore them. “I knew I liked Drezzy!” (same 👏).
✨ Noctis — absolute scene-stealer. His one-liners keep me alive. “Somehow I don’t think we will. He’s going on my shit list.’
‘Noctis, I swear, do NOT poop on that man’s head.” 😂 I can’t cope.
✨ Rowan & Kaevra — the chemistry, the angst, the EVERYTHING. Their moments had me melting. “You undo me, Kaevra.” 🥹 “But Rowan wasn’t running from her. Not now. Not ever. So she let go. And Rowan caught her.” 💞 Just perfection.

This sequel was intense, emotional, and completely unputdownable. The worldbuilding is rich, the stakes are higher than ever, and the character arcs cut right into your heart.

And now I’m left screaming… because what am I supposed to do after that ending?! 😭 I need the next book immediately.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I received this ARC from LCB in exchange for an honest review.

Book one left me dangling from the sharpest cliffhanger, and book two didn’t hesitate—it picked me right back up and threw me straight into the action. What an incredible start!

This time, we don’t just follow Kaevra—we also step into Adara’s POV, and later even Isolytha, and a many others as well. It adds so much depth to the story, showing how interconnected these characters truly are. Maeryn’s painful past, Adara’s grief, Rowan’s quiet strength—it all weaves together into something powerful.

Rowan and Kaevra’s relationship develops beautifully. Their moments together are intense, tender, and passionate—not traditional smut, but something deeper, love threaded through with longing and lust. I had butterflies the entire time.

Adara’s journey absolutely gutted me. Losing Finn so early on, her struggles with grief, her dangerous choices—it was raw and believable. I shook my head so many times at her decisions, but I understood them too.

The pacing once again feels different from most fantasy series, and I love that about LCB’s style. The story ebbs and flows, then builds to a massive, dramatic ending. The final scene? Kaevra killing Adara. I had to sit there in shock, whispering “WHAT just happened?” It’s Maas-level drama, and I am 100% here for it.

Another stunning, addictive installment. LCB knows how to balance heartbreak, romance, tension, and action with a unique voice. I cannot wait for book three.

Thank you to LCB for the ARC of this book. I felt like you could really see an improvement from the first one, the writing style, flow, and pacing was much better.

The story starts where book one ended, and the first half absolutely had me in a chokehold. Honestly I could not have guessed that the plot would go where it did in the second half of the book.

I enjoyed seeing Kaevra grow into herself a little, and see Rowan let go of his stoic demeanour a bit. I like that there are still plenty of unanswered questions that I’m sure will be answered in book three, so I’m really looking forward to reading that.

I felt much more connected to the characters in this book than I did in book one. Their personalities shone through much more and having multiple characters pov’s was really beneficial for this story imo.

All in all a very enjoyable read, with some parts leaving me absolutely livid and heartbroken. Lets just say LCB isn’t afraid of a little bloodshed 😳

I’m very excited to see where this story goes in the future 🖤

INFINITY STARS ALERT!!!

I am completely obsessed!!! This book was so much better than the first book and I loved the first book! It’s been a while since I had a book wreck my soul like this one did but my god did I love it! <~ I am aware this makes me weird! I’m ok with that! 😂😂

This one picks up right where book 1 left off and Thank GOD cause that cliffhanger was BRUTAL! But this one takes you along on their journey as everything heats up… the magic, the stakes… and the tension!! 🥵🥵 that bathtub scene…. Iykyk!!!

I loved everything about this book! I hated having to put it down everytime I had to adult which honestly was way too much… gosh why do these kids need education and food so much?!?! 😂😂😂

Anyways this one is coming out this week so mark your calendars yall! This is a must read!!!!!

Thank you so much LCB for the gifted e-arc, I honestly could not stop thinking about this book.

Picking up where The Corvus Crown finished you are catapulted right into the action from the start of this book. Kaevra is fighting for her freedom alongside the rebels against the tyrannical rule of Isolytha. The stakes rise, the tension is seizing, and the characters are gripping as the plot twists and turns in directions I never thought it would. The set-up got me hooked and suddenly just went somewhere I never thought it would, and I absolutely loved not being able to predict anything.

The narrative switches between multiple characters, which added depth to the story and really developed the characters. There were just a few chapters where I wish there was just a bit more detail, but overall, I loved so many narrative points - even the most gut-wrenching.

I'm still reeling from the cliffhanger, and I can't wait to see what book 3 does with the story as I honestly have no incling of what is going to happen. All I'm hoping is that it answers my questions that have been threaded throughout the novel.

Favourite Quotes:

And it had taken years – years of hunting, years of waiting, years of tracking whispers and ghosts before Isolytha had finally torn that last thread from her past. Years before she had claimed her throne completely, before she had wiped out every last remnant of the former royal line. Except for one.

“I’d be a fool not to be scared of a woman who could bring me to my knees with only a thought.”

She had spent so much of her life hiding – her past, her emotions, now her magic. She hadn’t expected acceptance so easily.

“There will never be another in any life, because you’re it. We’ll find each other again.”

She had spent her entire life running. From the people hunting her. From the truth about herself. From anyone who tried to get too close. But Rowan wasn’t running from her. Not now. Not ever. So she let go. And Rowan caught her.
________________

This book had me in its grip from start to finish, and I can't recommend it enough. A stunning story of treasured moments and soul crushing scenes that linger long after the final page.

✨The Corvus Court✨

I screamed when I found out I was selected to ARC read book two in this series! I was lucky enough to read the first as an ARC, and getting to continue the journey? Literal dream come true!

So let’s get into it…
This book picks up right where the first left off (yes, that brutal cliffhanger) and gives us just enough backstory to dive right in. I was especially obsessed with Adara’s storyline (Kaevera’s sister). Her arc was emotional and beautifully tragic.

We meet new side characters, gain deeper insight into old ones, and finally uncover Maeryn’s backstory. How did she end up tangled in all this? And why is she loyal to the queen?

Speaking of the queen… we get a much deeper dive into Isolytha’s twisted world. There’s a reason behind her madness, and it’s as disturbing as it is fascinating.

And then...
THE PLOT TWIST.
I gasped.
I screeched.
I had to reread because I couldn't believe it!
There are three possible outcomes and I honestly did not see any of them coming.

As for Rowan and Kaevera? Their slow burn progression from the beginning of book one until the end of this book felt so natural. A few moments legit had my heart racing and palms sweating. SO much tension and drama.

And the ending? Oof, my heart!
I thought the last cliffhanger destroyed me, but THIS one?? I nearly threw my phone. 😭 Like... how dare you end it there?! (In the best way.)

Final thoughts...
This sequel somehow managed to be even better than the first. I binge read it in a single day and already know I’ll be rereading it again (and again) while I impatiently wait for Book 3.

98% closed-door romance with a sprinkle of spice, just enough to raise eyebrows but never so much as to overwhelm the story.

⭐️ ⭐⭐⭐⭐5/5 A must read!
If this isn’t on your TBR, you’re doing yourself a great disservice.

Author LCB... PLEASE finish book three quickly so I can find out how this ends!!! Your story is fantastic and I can't wait to continue the series.

This picks up right where The Corvus Crown leaves off, and it is complete chaos. But don’t we just love a little chaos?

This is an ensemble cast, and honestly, it was a POV dream. I wasn’t expecting the sheer number of perspectives in this book, but having everyone’s thoughts and angles added so much depth. That said, I was really hoping for Noctis’s POV… who’s with me?!

Now let’s talk about Rowan. Stoic. Brooding. His silent observing of Kaevra was intense, unyielding, and comforting. He had her, always. She was his purpose, at the forefront of everything he did. In a world completely upended, he was her solid ground, exactly what she needed. He reminded her who she was and what truly mattered, and was always there to hold her steady.

With Kaevra, my heart truly ached for her. She is just starting to realize the full extent of her power, and the unrelenting nature of her abilities weighs heavily on her, a force that could bring the world to its knees. She only wants to protect people and do the right thing, but the guilt of knowing what she’s capable of is crushing. She is changing, becoming something new, and she does not yet know into what.

This whole story was a whirlwind. It had my heart pounding and my heart breaking. The last fifty pages were so intense and so heart-wrenching. It was unexpected, it did not pull punches, and it had me gasping. It looks like this war is just getting started, and I am absolutely here for the ride.

Let's lay it all out there, this book emotionally destroyed me, and Noctus is my absolute favorite character!

👑 Power has a price and is kaevra willing to pay it? Allies are dwindling. Her magic is changing... will she lose herself to who the world wants? or hold true to who she wants to be? Not all monsters wear crowns...

👑This book picks up right where book 1 left off, and there are different POVs. Not only did we see the main characters grow more, we also got to meet and learn more about the side characters as well. Kaevra and Rowan's chemistry is unmatched (the yearning and tension..chefs kiss). The story moves fast and is the perfect pace to keep you feening for more. It brings up every emotion possible. I dont know how LCB topped book 1, but she did, and I cant wait to see what comes in book 3. The twist, turns, adventure, and the way it ended...oh my gosh! This book is one you will read over and over again (i know i will)! I found this author through a book tour, and instantly fell in love with the story. being on her street team has been the absolute best. Not only is it release day, but also the authors birthday!! 🎉 Cant wait to be absolutely tortured in all the right ways with the remainder of this series!

The Corvus Court raises the bar set by book one and delivers a darker, sharper continuation of The Vyrelian Chronicles. The atmosphere remains gothic and immersive, but with heightened stakes, deeper emotions, and an edge of danger that never lets go.

This sequel shines in its character dynamics: the heroine steps further into her own strength, while the broody, morally grey figure who shadows her continues to challenge and complicate her choices. Their connection remains a slow-burn pull, full of trust issues, loyalty tests, and undeniable tension.

The writing is lush and atmospheric, balancing political intrigue, rebellion, and forbidden magic with themes of destiny, sacrifice, and identity. It feels faster-paced than the first book, with sharper momentum that keeps the pages turning.

What to expect
• Dark court fantasy atmosphere
• Slow-burn romance with emotional depth
• Gothic worldbuilding & forbidden magic
• Rebellion, secrets, and power struggles
• A sequel that deepens both stakes and character arcs

An addictive and atmospheric continuation that takes the foundation of The Corvus Crown and builds it into something even more intense and compelling.

If you want a book that will totally wreck you make you cry and rage in anger and frustration then yeah this is the book for you. I definitely couldn't put this one down just like the first. I'm telling you now though if the the third doesn't end with a happy ending I'm revolting, pitch forks and all. You did some of those characters so dirty and I can't forgive you for that.

I really liked the character development in this book and the connections building between them as well. Adara and Finn were so sweet I really loved them together. Rowan and Kaevra really stepped up the steam between each other in this one and I'm really hoping they truly end up together long term in the next book. Come on I really need a HEA.

This will keep you intrigued and glued to your seat throughout. Make sure to have tissues that is a must. Don't have anything breakable near by as you might also want to throw something. I now need to go read something really happy to recover.

Also that cliffhanger...what??!! Noooooooo

This book destroyed me in the best way, I think. It was non stop from the beginning and there was a moment where I wrote to the author to ask her, HOW DARE YOU?! The plot twist kept twisting and I couldn't believe the way it ended. I didn't predict that at all and I love when I'm left speechless.
We were able to get to know the other characters a lot more in this book and understand their background story. The intensity between Kaevra and Rowan got even more intense in this book and I wanted the closed door scenes to be WIDE open. Either way, I was satisfied since they have such an amazing chemistry. Kaevra has developed into an even more powerful woman and I'm nervous but also excited to see what develops from her after this ending. I honestly can't even predict where this series is going and I'm so ready for the next book.

The adventure continues with Kaevra, Rowanthar, Maeryn, Dresden and Noctis.

This book is definitely more action forward than book 1. The pace of the story is much better and quicker.

I really enjoyed being able to see how the characters have grown since book 1. We get to encounter new characters and a few we met in book 1.

The banter between the characters is great, but the banter with Noctis is perfection.

The Queen is back and is in prime form. She is just as evil and manipulative, but we finally get a little more insight into her backstory!

Throughout the book, readers will encounter new friends, found family, magic, a new Kingdom, betrayals, heartbreak and a few plot twists you won't expect. The cliffhanger ending will leave you speechless.

I loved reading this and cannot wait for the next book.

I really love how this story is unfolding and I’m excited to see where it goes next. The writing flows really well and it is easy to read, and the pace was perfect (IMO). This book is an action-packed adventure that is filled with plot twists and keeps you engaged. I was pleasantly surprised with the second half of the book and twist it took. I love the growth of the characters throughout and the introduction to a few new characters. I also love and enjoy multiple POV. I feel like it gives the story more depth. The tension and spice heat up in this as well! It ends on a cliffhanger, and I can’t wait for the next book to see where it goes!

Thank you so much to the author for an advanced copy, all thoughts are my own.

LCB…you tore my heart out with this book 😭 the emotional rollercoaster for The Corvus Court, which is book 2 of the Vyrelian Chronicles, immediately picked up after The Corvus Crown. Kaevra’s magic is changing (growing perhaps??), Noctis is still our fav sassy Crow and Rowan is our broody and thoughtful MMC. The multi-POV within this story helps create more world building with Vyrelia and the surrounding kingdom of Rhyvenna. We see our OG characters with a sprinkling of others. I felt that LCB developed this story with darker themes, which really showcases grief and choices that can change who our path in life. How this story ends had me REELING, so be prepared fellow readers!

This book was better than the first, you can definitely tell the author has improved her writing style too. Where the first was overly descriptive, this flowed wonderfully. I devoured it in a day.

I definitely felt Kaevra grew as a character tremendously, more confident in her choices and actions. Adara…. Where do I start?! I was looking forward to Kaevra’s reunion with her sister but did not expect the outcome. I definitely would read Adara’s own back story with Finnian. The magic system and the world is an interesting take too.

Little Crow is Back
Everything about this book is better than book 1... the story dives deeper, better writing, and it leaves you wanting even more. Great growth to the characters and a few new characters. The story really starts to come to life in this book. Ends on a cliffhanger, which I can't wait to see what happens.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

It picks up right where The Corvus Crown left off so make sure you start with it! Always check trigger warnings!

LCB did such an amazing job with this one, I enjoyed the different POVs and the faster paced made it flow easier. Got more of the slow burn enemies to lovers with a little spice!

Kaevras power is changing, the characters are experiencing love and loss, unexpected alliances are being made, and questions we still need answers for!

I'm so excited for book 3 and eager to see where the characters go next. 🖤

I devoured The Corvus Court and finished it before I even realized I was at the end. The action moved swiftly, and I found myself shouting at LCB once or twice throughout my reading experience. This book is noticeably spicier than the first. While The Corvus Crown was relatively tame, this one features several steamy scenes. As part of an ongoing series, I'll be waiting impatiently for the next book to discover how the story unfolds!

This book was great, I liked the first book Corvus Crown but this one was much better. The last book left us on a cliffhanger and it was I was chomping at the bit waiting for this book. With that said the emotional rollercoaster and cliffhanger of this book might rival the first and now I have to wait for book 3. Kaevra got a good growth written in this book that she needed and Rowan… ughh that man makes me want to pull my hair out and kiss him at the same time. As for Noctis… he stole the show again. I just love that dang bird.

The Corvus Court starts off strong with the action, you just jump right in! The action was a whirlwind, the story moved fast, and the writing flowed effortlessly. There was a ton of character growth from the first book, and that cliffhanger?!?!

Adara is VIP, with Noctis a close second. I love the merry band of misfits that make up the rebellion and I can’t wait to find out more about some of their mysterious backgrounds and how the magic flourishes. Oh and that slow burn? Worth it 😉
