The Creature From the Bridgewater Triangle: and Other Odd Tales from New England

Rate this book
For 20 years I lived in The Bridgewater Triangle and had no idea of the strange beings that lurked in the nearby swamp, until I met one on a dark Autumn night. Three feet tall, covered in hair, it walked to a circle of light cast by an overhead street-lamp. Raising a furry paw, beckoning me to come closer, the pot bellied, big eyed thing spoke to me - "Keer, Keer. Eeee Wan chu."

Later I learned that the area of Massachusetts where I made my home is considered one of the hottest spots in the world for strange and bizarre happenings. Snakes as big around as stove pipes have been spotted. Respected TV newscasters have seen massive spaceships, Bigfoot sightings abound and of course there is a huge supply of ghosts. In this book, I recount my frightening meeting with the swamp thing and I share more than a dozen other stories - some fact and some legend.

Years after I met the Creature from the Bridgewater Triangle, I wrote a blog account which was read by two film makers who were working on a documentary of the area. They featured me in their project - The Bridgewater Triangle Documenary. It was screened successfully for about a year, before going to BluRay and DVD. The film will be shown on Discovery's Destination America Channel in 2015.

I was also featured in a 20 minute segment of Season 2, Episode 2 of Monsters and Mysteries in America, shown nationally on Destination America.

3.5 stars - this is a collection of legends and other stories from New England. I thought some of the transitions were rather uneven, but I like that the stories are recorded. My favorite was the story of the preacher and the boat.

Great Collection of Interesting Tales & Travel Tips Too!

This is the second of two books by this author that I have read. The first, was about "horror" stories had only a few tales. This offering is much better. There are eleven tales of the strange and unusual. The author also includes tips for visiting the area. If you are a fan of Destination America's "Monsters and Mysteries in America," the first story was the author's real life experience that was featured in season two, episode two, the Puckwudgie. He was fortunate not to have taken the creative's invitation. Watch that episode to find out, it's available on Amazon on Demand for purchase or catch the re-runs. That story is one of my favorites. His story is also mentioned in a documentary on the Bridgewater Triangle. I will have to buy that one (not available on Amazon, unfortunately). This is a great little book with interesting tales. I hope the author writes more in this style. Very entertaining.

I really had a great time with the characters, the plot and the author's writing style in this book. Right from the first few pages I was immediately immersed in the different tales that are unusual and strange based on the author’s real life experiences, and they are really captivating that I found it impossible to put down the book. This book kept me intrigued with each tale and excited of what would happen next. This is a thrilling book and I had a great time reading it. Two thumbs up for the author!

Not worth it...

very misleading, basically short stories means "why to avoid Plymouth Rock". New England in this book includes Arizona. a few Sales pitches...at least it was free
