Repented is the fourth book in the bestselling Battlescars series. Repented picks up where Conflicted ended, and will lead into Cracked: A Guilty Tendencies Novel, but is NOT a cliffhanger!
When everything in your life becomes Conflicted, and you're left with more than your fair share of Battlescars, you may become Afflicted. But, in order to rise above the chaos, it's best to be Repented.
Kevin, the lead guitarist of Battlescars, hasn't always been the good guy people perceive him as.
When secrets from his past come out of the shadows and haunt him, his world comes crashing down. Can he be repented, or will his old ways scratch the surfaces and ruin everything?

This is Kevin’s story in book 3 Kevin’s wedding never happened and Bryn walked away. That was actually a really good thing for Kevin. Bryn was not meant to be with Kevin. Kevin slips a little with the sobriety but manages to pull himself up before he is in to deep.
Kevin picks up the tour bus for Jake and side swipes a girl named Bri. This author has a major issue with B names…. Brett, Bri, Bryn, Britt… to many for me to keep straight. Anyway Bri moves to Smithville in with her cousin Madison.
Kevin has a chance meeting with Madison and thinks he will never see the beauty again but he does and he thinks maybe this is fate.
My thoughts: 1st - Kevin cannot do (a little) cocaine and not have to go back to rehab. That sounds wrong to me. 2nd - Kevin’s parents are described as HIPPIES that are Free Spirited but they own a huge house and there is a Lambo in the driveway. NO… Hippies do not own huge houses or Lambo’s. I agree it makes sense that they own holistic and more NATURAL spas but I would never say they are hippies. I know hippies they are more, give all the money away to charity and I can live as a minimalist. I feel most of this is to unrealistic for me to really be in the moment with this story. Which is disappointing because I loved the others.
I also wish there was more background on Bri since some of the story was about Austin and Bri’s relationship. I wanted more on that story.
And what the heck happened to poor sweet Brittney. She was in book 3 got a job with the band as marketing and was never heard from again. Then we have the 3rd romance in the book with Peyton & Zach. All we see of Peyton is she is whinny and annoying and Zach is a horn dog who wants the rock star lifestyle with a chick waiting at home for him.
Rating: 2 Stars
I am hoping if there is a book 5 in the series that it will be a little better for me. This is a good series and don’t get me wrong most of the books are good.
The Battlescars series was one of my first rocker reads, and I’ve been addicted ever since. These boys are my heart and soul, and boy do they have some stories to tell. Sophie Monroe has brought this series to life, and it’s been an awesome ride watching the boys grow into dare I say, mature men! Repented is all about Kevin, and my heart literally ached after this one. Being the so called calm one of the group, he wasn’t always on the straight and narrow path, and we get to see how his past has shaped him into the awesome guy he is today.
We pick up at his and Bryn’s wedding, and as we know, things don’t always turn out the way we planned them. Truths are revealed, and it’s a shocker to them all. In normal Battlescars fashion, the boys rally together, through good times and bad. After the proverbial bomb was dropped, all I could think was Kevin is a stand up dude and deserves his HEA.
In walks Madison into his life, just when he needed someone the most. It was an instant connection, and sometimes those aren’t the best, but they both have chaotic pasts that drew them closer I think. Might I add, she’s one of my fave female characters of the series. She’s been through a personal hell, and came out swinging, much like the rest of the gals. They bring awesomeness and sass to the Battlescars family, and it wouldn’t be the same without them!
Loved this series hardcore, and tears were shed, knowing it’s come to an end. Sophie never fails to bring it though, and has introduced us to the next big thing, Guilty Tendencies. These guys were signed to the Battlescars label, and they remind me of the younger version of my boys, and I’m so excited for this next chapter. Bring it on…balls to the wall baby!
so glad Kevin got his HEA. he has been through a lot and sometimes things don't work out as planned. It picks up right where we left off at his wedding to Bryn and wow! once the truth was out I felt bad for him. but it turned out to be the best thing to happen to him. surprisingly, I thought I was going to hate Kennedy but I felt bad for her too. The both of them were in bad places all those years ago and let drugs and alcohol mess them up. I loved how Kevin became her friend and was there for her and Sky. it was great seeing the rest of the crew be there for him no matter what happened, and as always Granny was a trip. Bri and Madison came into his life and were great additions to the story. I thought I was certain about certain things and where they were going, but of course Sophie got me ;) now we have the GT guys to read about and I can't wait to see what's up with Austin and Zack. Sorry to see this series end. but I look forward to what Sophie has in store for us with GT. ;)
Love this series and Sophie did not disappoint with Kevin's story. Loved continuing reading about the boys of battlescars and how far theve came. This is a must read! It is written so well and has you captured and loving the characters. I've grown to love Madison and I even love Kennedy and was glad she stopped his wedding! It was sad to have an end but I'm happy with it!!!
I was looking for the book you said you were writing The Longest Road but nothing also no Cracked. I hope you and family are doing well. I noticed the band you mentioned is also no longer gonna play. I liked we got a peak in each book of before they got a contract. I would read more rock if you write about the bands.
DNF... just couldn't finish this one. Which I really hate to do but I just couldn't read anymore of the same thing. The story line seemed to be repeated over and over again throughout the series.
What the heck did I just read?! This may have been one of the most oddly written books I've ever read. There were 4 or more narrators telling this story and it seemed to me more like a long advertisement for Sophie Monroe's next series than the conclusion of the Battlescar's series. This story was all over the place with no direction at all. As with the last book Conflicted, there were just way too many back stories and this book set a new record for "Insta-Love". Kevin's love interest wasn't introduced until the 60% mark, and he was in love with her at 61%. I have to say that not only was the story of poor quality, but the grammar was poor as well. Wrong character names were used and timelines were off. For example: Kevin woke Madison up at almost 2am in the morning for the trip to the Grand Canyon. She went back to sleep in the car and woke up when they were getting gas at 4am. She then says " I couldn't believe I managed to sleep for another 3 hours". Huh? There wasn't enough plot here for a story. A poor conclusion to this series. Not recommended.
I do like this series and the Battlescar guys but this book was all over the place. Yes I am glad we finally got Kevin's story. It has been so long I almost forgot about Kevin. And I am glad Kevin got his HEA. But there were so many people telling their story. It wasn't just Kevin and there were so many people involved you didn't know who Kevin would end up with. Would it be Bryn, Kennedy, Bri or Madison. I kept finding myself re-reading chapters not knowing who the chapter was about. I know the author is coming out with a new series and she was trying to introduce us to the guys from A Guilty Tendency, I just didn't like how it was incorporated into this book. There was some mistakes, I am not one to point them out, I am not a writer and I give credit to all authors but at one point Kevin was talking about Madison and said Kennedy. I think there may have been to many character references. Kevin is a great guy and character, Madison seemed great too, wish we had more of them together. Would have liked more of Jake, Blake and the guys.
Hmm what can I say that wont spoil it for you all. I enjoyed this book very much but also found it very emotional as well. I was a little confused as there wasnt much with Kevin and his lady love but a lot about other characters. I understand that there was another band coming into it but it sort of fitted in the end. Kevin has his struggles with what is happening in his life and sort of feel like he cant get a break, he meets this girl thinking he may just get a break then get knocked down again. The poor guy is on a continuous roller coaster but he does find his one at last.
You also get to know a little more about the other band and there relationships, I wont go into detail as I dont want to spoil it for you. Hope this helps some of you. But over all I really enjoyed this book I laughed and cried but do have to say I so Aubery's Grandma her lines just crack me up.
I absolutely love the Battlescars series by Sophie Monroe. I fell in love with Kevin a few books ago and was so excited to read his book. He has been through so much in his life and I kept rooting for him to finally find his happily ever after. There were so many women to chose from throughout the story and I found myself getting frustrated every time another one was added to the mix. I was really hoping that he would have ended up with Kennedy in the beginning but was very happy with the way things turned out in the end. I loved catching up with the other band members and I can't wait to read about the boys from Guilty Tendencies.
I have mixed feelings about this one. Kevin had come a long way and I was shocked at what happened between he and Bryn, but the monologues that I found boring, led us to him meeting Madison. Their instant attraction bought everything full circle for me because it reminded me of Jake and Aubrey my two faves from the original in the series. I persevered and like every story I was glad I continued cos I needed to know Kevin's story. I liked the intros of the Guilty Tendency guys and look forward to find out about their lives.
Kevin has been left at the alter, he thinks he may have a son. But the kicker is he's not completely broken up about it. he meets Bri when he hits her car with the new tour bus. He finds out Sky isn't his son, but he sill sets Kennedy and him in a house an a job at his moms spa. He than meets Madison who ends up being Bri's cousin. The part I couldn't understand was why Mad was being so secretive about her own struggles when Kevin shared his. Saw Austin and Bri together. Zach and Peyton...

Oh Sophie Monroe, how I flove you! I got to say I love the boys of Battlescars and you did Kevin justice. In the ending of Conflicted I wanted to rip him a new one of how it ended and I was totally amazed at how you justified his actions and I gotta say Kevin has moved to my fav! Couldn't have asked for a better ending to the series!
I'm so excited for Guilty Tendencies series and I have a feeling I'm going to love the boys just as hard.
Have very mixed feelings about this book. It started off good by picking up where Dereck's story ended. I didn't know how things were going to go regarding Kennedy and was surprised with the outcome between those two. Around the middle of the book, it started getting boring and Kevin became very sappy. I did like how the book introduced some of the characters for the spin off series by having their pov's included. This book was a disappointing end to a series that started off great
loved it. happy got his HEA and not with Bryn I didn't really like her she bothered me. Maddison is more for Kevin. Both broken, both having demons and together they just make sense. also a good prelude to the guilty tendencies novel coming up. the gang is all together and happy. didn't disappoint.
I was so excited when this book came out. I loved the rest of the series but i just didn't love this book. This was to be Kevin's story but the story shifted too many times to introduce other people for future books. I wanted this to be about Kevin!
I enjoyed this whole series. This one takes on Kevin who battles his drugged addicted past, a ruined wedding and finding love. There are a few twists and turns here to make it interesting. Ms. Monroe, if you're listening, I'd love more about Kennedy and Skylar. Looking forward to the next series.
I didn't like this book as much as the others. I felt nothing really happened until the 50% mark so got slightly bored. But still a good book and I did like hearing all the different characters views.
This book had way to many other people's stories in one book. It was hard to keep track of who the chapter was about. I was disappointed and found myself skimming thru till the end.
