I write fantasy stories about survival, found family, and the cost of hope in broken worlds.
My work explores what happens after everything burns — the quiet moments of grief, the bonds forged under pressure, and the choice to keep going when giving up would be easier. I’m especially drawn to characters who protect fiercely, love deeply, and refuse to walk away from the people they call family.
Inferno, Rainfall, Embers and soon to be released Phoenix are part of an ongoing series about endurance, sacrifice, and rebirth — not just of worlds, but of the people who live in them.
This book completely drew me into its unique world, and I had a fantastic time reading it. Victoria Reinke creates a setting that feels mysterious and alive, making it easy to become invested in both the story and its characters. Zach, his brother Xarin, and Aura and Angel (their friends) are engaging protagonists whose hopes of leaving the isolated city, dramatic and unexpected turn. Their journey is anything but ordinary from thrilling battles to surprising Revelations and long buried secrets. Every chapter adds another layer to the story. Just when I thought I knew where the plot was headed, another twist kept me dancing and eager to read on. If you enjoy fantasy-filled, adventure, mystery, loyal friendships, and high states. This is definitely a book worth picking up. I'm excited to continue the series and see where their characters go next.
The first book the Children of The Peonix series by Victoria Reineke is very slow paced at first, but does eventually pick up. However, the book started in the chaos of Zach and his people trying to escape their city and the chaos doesn't let up. There is lots of action, adventure, found family and constant tension. At times I found myself sitting on the edge of my seat. I couldn't stop reading it! I had to keep turning the pages until there were none left. The characters were well written with more room to grow. The brothers Zach and Xarin were more in depth. But all-in-all they were good. Victoria's world building is vivid and good, however I really thought it needed to be fleshed out more. I would suggest this book to others to read!

They dream of leaving Tranquis, an isolated city on an island, but they never would have guessed how they would ultimately end up leaving. I would definitely recommend this book and I can't wait to read the next book!!
