Immortality Stolen is the second book of The Mortal One series. It can’t be read as a standalone since it continues telling the journey of Dylan, who is now not only marked by Nico but also married to him, as she tried to adapt to her new life among the vampires, their pets and the few human friends she has made on Italy.
I must confess that this story grabbed me from the very start. I am not a fan of zombies but the way the author is adding other supernatural creatures without compromising the integrity or the flow of the plot is quite amazing. Also, the overly detailed descriptions that were made in the first book are long gone. I do hope you, readers, prepare yourself for a plot full of drama, mystery, romance, jealousy and a touch of action.
Dylan, Nico and Costin suspect that Dylan’s Parisian admirer not only killed his sovereign but is also trying to take that position for himself as part of some strange plan for something much more dangerous. They fear he might return for Dylan and that puts a little too much stress not only on Nico but also on Costin sine he fears a war might appear on the horizon. Nevertheless, things get a lot more complicated and strange when our leading lady gets an invitation from Olivier, her handsome and forceful Parisian stalker, promises not only answers but also some truths that she has been seeking for so long. That trip stinks of trouble but it is way too tempting to be denied. Dylan knows that and so does Costin.
I must confess, and please don’t attack me, Olivier won my heart in this book. I, like many others, thought he was a total jerk for trying to manipulated Dylan and take her away from Nico. Nevertheless, he does a total 180° in this book. Of course, he keeps being arrogant but he turns into an arrogant charmer gentlemen an, personally, I am totally weak against that. Nico shows us a different side of him, he becomes a total mass of jealousy while remaining the protective and caring lover. In fact, we also get to him a vulnerable side of him that totally broke my heart. Honestly, I don’t even know who to root for anymore. Our poor Dylan is having the same dilemma even when she denies it and believe me when I tell you she does that a lot.
We get to see a bunch of drama as the promise of a love triangle arises and secrets are kept between our two hunks and our leading lady. Both make her heart beat but just one gets to hear the “I love you” coming out of her mouth. Things turn even worse Dylan and Nico remain separated for quite a while because of the zombie alert in Paris and all its complications.
I truly recommend this novel to any vampire fans and to all that which to accompany Dylan and she searches for her place in her new life.

Ok I’m not going to lie, when I read the word zombie I almost quit. I gave it a chance though and was not disappointed. This time the story is set almost completely in Paris and we see less of a human lifestyle for Dylan.
We continue with the latest mystery book one left us with. Who killed Henri and why? Dylan is the only one Oliver will talk to but his obsession with her has everyone on edge. As usual though Dylan is too curious to pass up this opportunity no matter how dangerous it is. Being in Paris alone with the very same vampire who stalked her, tried to kidnap her, and mark her for his own pet is the worst idea she can think of. Still, its the only way to find out what’s happening in Paris.
Nico would do anything to keep Dylan with him. He’s afraid something might happen and he’ll be too far to help her. Even stronger is a jealousy that keeps building. He has become very possessive of her both as a master and husband. Now Oliver wants her to go to him alone in a city crawling with zombies. What could be worse? Oliver or the zombies?
Just as I had hoped this book has much more excitement. Not in the form of action but in anticipation. I was glued to the pages and I’m not exaggerating when I say I read every chance I got no matter where I was. What I have really liked is how human Dylan’s character is. She struggles with typical human stuff like sleeping and eating. She has to force herself to sleep during the day so she can keep up at night and eat every chance she gets because you’ll never know. I also really began to doubt the opinions I had about Nico's and Oliver’s characters. Nico now seems inconsiderate and controlling while Oliver is looking like the caring one who’s just looking to expand his knowledge of different vampires. Looks like we might be falling for the bad boy but there’s always more to a story. Once again you get small hints of bigger things to come. There’s the other blood lines to learn about and how this little love triangle with turn out.

I’m very excited and, I’ll admit, impatient for the third book to come out. I can’t bring myself to read the teaser at the end of this book since I’ll probably bite down to my cuticles waiting for Spring.

Till then……

**I have to say straight up I don't like ZOMBIES, but I dealt with them only because I love these Vampires!!!**

I love where this book picks up. Since it's the second in the series (still can be read as a stand alone), we get caught up on on what really happened when Henri was murdered in Paris!
It takes a whole heck of a lot to kill a hot vamp, but it appears that Oliver really didn't do it.

Oliver, for those of you that read the first book is the crazy Paris vamp that wants Dylan for his own and still wants her in this book. Yes, even after reading this book I have mixed feelings for Oliver, I still think something is evil about that vamp. I'd still take him to my bed, but I wouldn't trust him!!!!! Any vamp wanting more power than what he's got has to have going on. OMG!!!! I almost forgot the way he became a vamp!!! WTH!!! That alone says something isn't quite right with his way of thinking. Though, I will give him credit when it comes to Dylan, if something is wrong with her, he's there for her.

It might just be me, but Dylan got on my nerves in parts of this book! I swear she was really acting like a two year old in some parts. It was nothing like the old Dylan from book one. I swear she was down right a brat at some points. Some of those things were important and Nico should have been told, you are his wife after all. Act like it already!

I wish there was more Nico in this book. Yeah I know...I love my hot vamps just as much as the next girl. Really Dylan was totally playing jet setter in this book. She toured more with Oliver than Nico and I swear I missed him so much!!

Over all the story on a whole rocked it! Oliver's greed got his butt in trouble (Zombies roaming Paris...BAD) and he had to crawl to Costin and Nico for help....PRICELESS!!! Then the battle over Dylan between Nico and Oliver....LOVE it.
I honestly can't wait to see what happens in the next book when Nico and Dylan move to Paris!!!

**I received an ARC from the Author for an honest review.**

This is book two in The Mortal One series. Book one is definitely not like any other Vampire Romance that I have read before. I wasn't expecting to like it like I did, but this Vampire book is different and refreshing and there are some really sexy vampires that I am not complaining about.

So, if you read The Mortal One you know of what has happened between the Paris vampires and the Florence vampires, well really just one Paris vampire in particular, Olivier. When The Mortal One ended things were a little up in the air with where things were headed with what happened in Paris and it hinted that vampires were not the only things that go bump in the night. I was really intrigued by what would be introduced in Immortality Stolen and I was a little apprehensive because I am not really a fan of the vampire werewolf thing, but the author did not disappoint with the new supernatural beings that were introduced. I am also looking forward to book 3, Immortality Chosen, so I can find out what Dylan, Nico and Olivier seem think Dylan is.

This book was a little slow for me and not a whole lot of action going on, but it still held my attention none the less. I had to know what was happening and how things would get resolved, but I also really enjoyed the new dynamic that Olivier brought to the mix. I also feel like this book is setting up book 3 up for some really interesting things.

*Side note...I hate Violante!*

If sexy vampires and supernatural beings are something that make a book so much better for you, then you should give this series a read.

Pretty good, not quite as good as book one

This story was a bit slower than the last book. In fact not a whole lot really happens but I still liked this one. Yea there are some new vamps, some zombies, yea zombies! Lol and a love triangle kind of. I still really enjoyed this book. I was really surprised to find 2 typos in this one though. Both were instances where a word was least out that had to be there. I guess someone was in a rush? I was just really surprised because this book and the last seemed very professionally done and in most all actual paperbacks or hardcover I have never run into one until I got a kindle.
So besides that it's a good book, doesn't get boring, but it does slow down quite a bit from book one. Still very worth the read. I also like this vampire world that she has built. Some books that have them I really don't like at all and some like Lindsey Sands vampire books I love.
So yea if you like those kinds of books you will like this series I think. Strong woman protagonist and the alpha male isn't all brawny and no brains, he has a sensitive side but never really goes all ape man or mean killer on her. I like the relationship in this one and I do get how even though she loves him she is still on some level attracted to the other vamp too, because I was in a similar situation when I was younger, ( oh come on with mortal men! Vampires aren't real!) and man if that doesn't mess with your head! Lol
So I expect more from that in the next book.

*This book was provided by the publisher/author to Nerd Girl Official for an honest review.
This book is very well written, with lots of good twists. The characters are intruiging and some of them can be infuriating (Olivier). If you read book one you know that things were left with unanswered questions. Dylan chooses to try to find answers which means going to Paris, alone, with the vampire Olivier who will only talk to her If she comes to him alone. This could be a huge mistake on her part because Olivier stalked her and tried to mark her as his, but Dylan needing answers decideds its worth the risk. Olivier however is not the only dangerous creature lurking on the streets of Paris! The only complaints I have about this book were that there were hardly any appearances from Nico, and it was not as fast paced as I was expecting, but altogether it was a very good read that I couldn't and didn't want to put down. I'm looking forward to book three!

“Once I become a vampire, we can be on a level playing ground. The idea of becoming a vampire was still something I was getting used to, but it was one I was looking forward to.”

4 stars. The second book in the series is just as good as the first if not better!!! So many twists and turns, it definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat that’s for sure!

Book two picks up where book one left off and starts to answers some of the questions we needed answers too. This book is full of twists and turns and total excitement. I can’t stress how much I love this series and I can’t wait to see what happens in book three!!!

Dylan gets up early to go running every morning, she knew that it was important to at least try to out run a vampire that wasn't on their side. Nico told Dylan that she is going to move in with him. Costin and Nico have to go to Paris, they came home the next night because Vampires sleep during the day. While they are in Paris Antonio is staying with Dylan. Dylan then receives a letter from Olivier saying that he would like to talk to her and for her to come alone to Paris. Nico doesn't like the idea of Dylan being alone in Paris with Olivier.
Dylan is a mortal, Nico's wife/pet, She is a truth seeker and works at the bar. Friends with Antonio. Antonio is Costin's pet, a mortal, does research. Nico is Costin's second in command, Dylan's husband and he is very protective of Dylan. Olivier a vampire in Paris, Has feelings for Dylan.
This is the Second book in the Mortal Ones series. This is a good story, the characters are very well developed. This is a different story then what I was used to.

On a personal level, I'm not a fan of some of the para in this book ... it's just not me or what I read ... on a professional level, it's written very well and I would absolutely recommend it to people who read this type of para ... my feelings in no way reflect on the author. She did a lovely job writing this and getting her characters out there ...
I was a little disappointed that Nico wasn't in the book so much and it reflected around Oliver (nutty vampire also after Dylan's affections)....I really could have used more Nico. This being said, Oliver was very well written and I think the authors writing style is very good.
The Grammar and spelling are good and she handles her side characters with flare and grace.
This is a well written book and I would definitely read the next installment to see how things play out and to get more of Nico because, well, he's kinda all sorts of hot ...

This is the second book in Shannon's Mortal One series, and it picks up right where the last book leaves off. I was sucked in immediately and could see the growth not only in the characters but in Shannon as well. Dylan is feisty, curious, and fighting to learn about this world she has been thrust into. Nico is protective and caring, if not a little unsure how to deal with his feelings. Then there is the wild card of Oliver who wants to steal Dylan from Nico. I personally am on Team Oliver!

This book is steamy, passionate, exciting, and entertaining. There were a few small editing errors, but not many and easily overlooked as you get sucked into the world of these European Vampires. This world is just in the beginning stages of being created, and I can't wait to learn more about Shannon's world of passion, mystery, and blood.

Dylan and Nico are still learning as they go. It’s delightful to watch Dylan learn more about the world she has always searched for….truth-seeker…a term used to identify her as someone who wants to know more than the world everyone else sees. Nico is still the handsome yet slightly overbearing Vampire we came to love in book one, but as we watch him have to put his love on the line, we get more layers beneath the surface. Especially as Dylan is forced to be apart from him to find the truths they all seek. Oliver is an intriguing and sexy Vamp you can’t help but lust for…even with Zombies running amuck!! Thrilling excitement and suspense with some romance thrown in, you can’t go wrong with this series! #pageturner #mustread #oneclickworthy #vamploveforever

Dylan loves Nico, but is also fighting her attraction to Oliver, another vampire. Oliver has shared information that Dylan has been curious about. She knows he wants to be with her, and she is also attracted to him as well. However, Dylan loves Nico and doesn't want to do anything that would jeopardize their relationship. As they all work together, getting rid of something evil, will Dylan be able to resist Oliver? Will Nico suspect the attraction between them? Will they succeed in destroying the evil lurking around Paris? I am looking forward to reading the 3rd book in this series to find out what happens next.

Immortality Stolen starts off from where The Mortal One leaves you.

The story is just getting better and better the twists and turns, are just brilliant. Yet again I was hooked.

Dylan and Nico's relationship is developing it to something only love can.
Oliver is still around but you get to see a different side of him he can still be arrogant, but he genuinely cares for Dylan, I'm now undecided whether Dylan should be with Nico or Oliver.

There are some new interesting characters added to this book and some Zombies. Yes I said Zombies.

Again I really enjoyed this book and now I'm off to start The Immortal Compromise.

So book two continues with Dylan and Nico's story. Dylan has feelings for Olivier too and it is clear he feels the same. Life in Florence is complicated to say the least and throw Violante into the equation as well as some Zombie's in Paris and the story really gets interesting!

I thoroughly enjoyed this second book in the series, the characters are really believable - despite quite a few of them being Vampires. It is a well written story.
