A beautiful beach cottage. A run-down theater. An actress desperate for her big break.

When the washed-up actress, Margie Kerns, escapes the tabloids by moving to her mother’s old beach cottage in the quiet seaside town of Lost Sands, Oregon, she’s quickly plunged into a desperate bid to save their local theater.

The Starfish Theater is on the brink of ruin, held together by the dogged hopes and fraught dreams of cartoonist Paul Landings. Paul is a lighthearted and silly soul who loves to bring a smile to people’s faces—and Margie’s arrival spells a sudden change in his fortunes...sort of. Margie is convinced the dying theater is a stepping stone to jumpstart her floundering career—but she’s soon left butting heads with Paul over the theater’s future.

And as they struggle against looming financial issues and a cruel banker who’s determined on bringing them down, they’ll need to work together to put on the show of a lifetime...and maybe find their happily-ever-after along the way. Can Paul bring a ray of sunshine into Margie’s gloomy summer? Or will the curtains fall on her career one last time?

Dive into a clean heartwarming romance series that will sweep you away on a fun adventure to the golden beaches of Oregon. With beautiful themes of second chances, unlikely love, and all the glitz & glam of showbiz, the Summer Stay Cottage series is a wonderful summer beach read.

The series is starting to get interesting now! It seemed that the whole town was against Paul. They wanted the eyesore Theater torn down & replaced with a modern shopping center which the developer has promised everyone it will draw in more people to Lost Sands He has promised Mathewbig big bucks if he helps him win the council’s trust get them to passed the motion to tear the lid eyesore theater down. What does Mathew hope to gain by doing what he is doing? He can’t force Paul to sell the theater, so why go to all the trouble of trying to block it at every turn? He is one devious person!. Mathew takes one last attempt to block Paul’s reopening the theater, by trying to use a law that is no longer valid to get rid of older people on the council. After he loose this fight, he storms out of the meeting, but where does he go? What is he up to now??? Will he win this battle? Will he get caught?

This is the second portion of a story that is developing nicely. We start to see the true character of the players and the plot thickens. It ends with a cliffhanger and I'm looking forward to the next portion of the story.
I received an ARC of the book and I am leaving my own thoughts without influence from the author or publisher.

People are coming out of the woodwork to help Paul remodel the theatre.
Except for Matthew!
Maggie has sided with Paul, but doesn't want to do a comedy.
Well, let's see where this is going.

A Very Good Book 📖

Most of the characters were fun and kind. There were a few you just couldn't trust. The people were hard workers and loved the small community. The twists and turns were amazing. I really enjoyed this book from start to finish.
