Detective Levi “The Bazooka” Bradley is a simple man. He’s good at his job, he keeps to himself, and he won’t let anything into his life that doesn’t fit in a duffel bag. He’s a lone wolf, and he's happy that way until he meets the most infuriating chaos of a person, and his life becomes very complicated, very fast.
Lucius Zablonsky, called Luz, doesn’t fit in a duffel bag, but it won’t stop him from pursuing the gorgeous, albeit grumpy, detective. The object of his affection might be straight as an arrow and resistant to his charms, but what Luz wants, Luz usually gets.
When a series of accidents puts them into one apartment, sometimes one room, and, more often than not, one bed, all bets are off. In the clash of wills between these two titans, only one can win—the one who has more to lose.
Tropes:
✔️ strangers ➡️ (forced) roomies ➡️ lovers ✔️ grumpy top/bratty bottom ✔️ bi awakening ✔️ forced proximity ✔️ trouble/protector ✔️ found family (angst/reward) ✔️ pining (lots) ✔️ jealousy (YESSS!) ✔️ cuddling (no duh) ✔️ banter, BARBS, AND SMEXY INNUENDOES ✔️ endearments (kitten, sweetheart... pest?)

Bazooka is an entertaining detective romance between Levi "Bazooka" and Luz who are opposites in almost every way. Due to a series of unfortunate events they are thrown together after an attack leaves Luz needing protection. Due to their forced proximity their vastly different personalities creates intense moments of friction and almost combustion with Luz's relentless persuit of the grumpy surly detective who unbeknownst to him is losing his patience and willpower to resist Luz's menancing ways.
Overall this is a highly entertaining romance between two men who could not be more different, but their connection and chemistry refuses to deny both of them their HEA. I laughed many times throughout this story and cannot wait for the next pairing.
*** I reviewed a complimentary copy of this story.***
The flow of this book felt very similar to book one and the push and pull between the MCs is quite similar as well. I wanted them getting together to have a more organic feel than how it went but I can see that this is probably the style of either the author or this series. I found that Luz was just too pushy on Baz and did not respect his boundaries at all, which got on my nerves after a while. He also acted hot/cold quite a lot and it gave me whiplash. At the beginning he was traumatised, so I gave him a pass but after a while it became clear that it was his personality. Overall, it was an entertaining story and I feel slightly addicted to these, so can't wait for the next one.
1st person Dual pov Banter Grumpy/Bratty Gay for you
“You know I don’t mind watching you,Baz”
This was a new author for me. And even though it’s sometimes I got confused about the timeline. I loved the banter between the two MMC‘s. Honestly, they were pretty true to themselves the whole entire story the push and pull and the over top obsessiveness from Luz was cracking me up. I would definitely read this author again.
“Why do I have to drag the nice words out of you as if I’m a gd dentist extracting your tooth?” “Cause you bring the same amount of torture?”
“I’m addicted. To your taste. To your smell. To the words coming out of your mouth.”
If you like a sassy man with a lot on his mind and a mouth, not afraid to say it all Luz is your man. He fell head over heels for Bazooka and takes the whole not giving up to a new level. And well, Bazooka is a hard, tough shell to crack and has a strong aversion to the big L word. eventually, Luz wears him down. As if there was any doubt he would.
This was book 2 in the The Losers Division series. And im very curious who will be featured in book 3
My first book by this author and I love Luz & Bazooka. My heart for Luz especially what he had to go through in the beginning but I’m glad Baz saved him. This story was funny & I’m definitely going back to the beginning to see the first two. Definitely a favorite.
Such a brilliant read - funny, romantic and very hot!

I totally loved every page of this book - Levi, aka Bazooka and Luz’s relationship was totally endearing, with Luz’s banter and incessant need to cuddle and be with Bazooka to Bazookas indifference and his need for being left alone, was utterly fantastic and smoking hot!
Luz, is an out a proud gay man and Bazooka, a straight loner detective who won’t let anything into his life that doesn’t fit in a duffel bag. Through a series of incidents Luz lands in Bazookas charge and protection, which is when Luz decides to push his luck and get as close as possible. Luz is adorable in his flirtatious ways whilst thinking there is no way a straight man would be interested in another man, however no matter how much chaos Luz brings Bazookas life he slowly start to break down and their cuddle sessions becomes a lot more!
The pace keeps you engaged and all the characters are likeable and relatable. I can totally recommend this book, it was also fab to have Carter & Thorsen in here too from book 1. This book is a standalone so can be read independently of the series, however I can thoroughly recommend reading Trigger.
what an epic story, I had such a great time reading this book! I mean Luz is a borderline bratty possessive little psychopath when it comes to Bazooka and I’m here for it ! I love how Bazooka starts off all aloof and mysterious that Luz drives insane enough to spark a temper in him like a bull being teased with a red cape, he gets all growly and has the “mine” caveman mentality without him even knowing it ! I swear the two characters are like oil and fire together when they get anywhere near each other they are explosive in an almost unhinged way that will have you laughing out loud and eager to read more, there are some absolute iconic lines in this that i’ve written down so I can use later ! I found the pacing to be perfect and I couldn’t put it down , if your looking for a fun book that will keep you on your toes and guessing this is it. even the side characters were detailed and interesting with some new characters to boot, I loved the petty little rivalry between Luz and detective Vile had over Bazooka it was both hilarious and entertaining. This series has been great so far and I can’t wait to read more of this series in the future.
If you have read Trigger, then you cannot have forgotten Lucius Zablonsky or as we know him Luz. The full of life sassy character that helped capture the Butcher. Whilst helping the Loser Division, he first met Levi "The Bazooka" Bradley and it was lust at first sight. One small issue Bazooka is straight. This was such a fun read and I spent most of my time laughing at Luz's antics to get Bazooka's attention. However this was not all laughs and events surrounding Luz are serious enough to get Bazooka involvement. Whilst Luc and Bazooka spend time together, we learn more about Bazooka and whilst Luz could get a tad annoying, Bazooka could never say mad at him and he had such a caring nature. We also get to know the reason why he is back with the Loser Division. But this is not just a romance, there are some serious investigations going on and we see Bazooka at his finest. This story is full of action, spice and Luz being Luz and I loved every minute and with Scarface being the next in the series I am looking forward to returning to the Loser Division
I really, really fell in love with the characters in Bazooka. Levi (Bazooka) and the sassy Luz. Luz has had a crush on Bazooka since helping out catch the Butcher of Smitsville, in the first book, Trigger. Bazooka, sadly, was straight but that did not stop Luz from chasing him, sending text after text, even after Bazook changed his phone number. On Luz's birthday, he was attacked and he managed to dial Bazooka for help. Bazooka came to the rescue and has to watch over him while Luz healed. You have to read the book to experience the deliciousness of Luz and his endeavors to get straight guy, Bazooka, to return his feelings while at same time getting involved in a case and some dangerous threats made against Luz. Loved the banter between these two. Bazooka catching feelings, Luz is also falling for the big guy. Passionate, snarky, hot, sexy, sweet, and so yummy. Do I want a second book with Bazooka and Lucious Luz? Pfft. Duh!!
I knew this book was gonna be a wild ride!! I don’t think I’ve ever read about a character as dulu as Luz, he was truly a wild ride and I was cackling the entire time!!
Luz and Bazooka meet in the first book and it’s lust as first site for Luz he almost a little stalker really, but when he is seriously injured from a gruesome attack it is bazooka to the rescue and it’s totally shenanigans that follows.
These two were hilarious together I don’t think I went a chapter without laughing, also thrown in is some heavy stuff with feelings and families. Bazooka is totally clueless as to why he can’t seem to truly let Luz go and I’m so happy he finally figured it out because I was about to choke him out myself!!!
Loved all the side characters as well as the plot that was throw in!! Can’t wait for the next of course!!!
This was an anticipated read for me because of my interest in Bazooka and Luz in Trigger.Baz and Luz were put together due to an unfortunate event that happens to Luz. Luz has been insistently trying to get with Baz since the events of Trigger and I found myself laughing hard at some of his antics. A critique that I do have with Luz is that there is a line between being cute delulu and crossing boundaries that borderline on being a little uncomfortable to read. However, overall his character was like a kitten that needed to be loved. Baz is grumpy, a lone wolf, and a protector. I loved him so much and his sweetness towards Baz made my heart soar. The pacing of the story was good, not too fast but not slow. If you like a funny, pushy delusional MMC and a grump detective MMC then you’ll love this story!
Luz is an absolute menace and our poor closed off Levi “Bazooka” didn’t stand a chance at resisting his charm. Luz was unhinged and wild but he had such a big heart with lots of love to give. Bazooka had a rough childhood and wouldn’t know what love was if it hit him in the face but don’t worry, he figures it out before the end.
The way Luz was immediately obsessed with Bazooka and wouldn’t take no for an answer was so funny. Luz was determined to wear him down by any means necessary.
I enjoyed watching their relationship grow.
I’m super sad about the ending because I wanted more!
I loved seeing Thorsen and Carter again even if it was brief. I can’t wait for more from the LD.
This is my first book from this author, and the moment I saw the tropes I was immediately sold! Bazooka and Luz are complete opposites, and I loved the push and pull between them. The story starts as a slow burn but builds into real flames. NGL, I’ve always had a soft spot for detective stories, so I already know this won’t be my last book from this author.
What I really enjoyed about Bazooka is how the romance blends with the mystery. Levi “Bazooka” is all grit and grump, while Luz is chaotic and relentless in the best way. Their forced proximity after an attack sets the stage for banter, tension, and moments that had me laughing! I loved watching Levi’s walls slowly break down as Luz kept barging into his world stubborn, determined, and impossible to ignore.
So I have to say I love Luz he is sassy and outspoken and won't give up on what he wants! Boy does bazooka play hard to get, yet you can see how protective he can be.
There was quite a bit going on in this story, you have the main romance, Luz who seems to attract trouble and bazooka's issues as a cop. But it comes together well and I couldn't put it down. It's not heavy on smexy times but its steamy with tons of pining. I really liked it.
Book 2 in this standalone interconnected series and it was just as good as book 1. We meet Luz in Trigger and he was so full of sass you could not help but love him. He always seems to find himself in trouble and a pain in someone's a$$. His sights are set on broody loner detective Levi AKA bazooka. This was fun and full of banter and angst with extreme chemistry. I love a good bi-awakening and this one ticked all the boxes.
Honestly the book started ok. I didn’t have high hopes because bratty MCs are not my thing. The feeling of being gaslighted and manipulated by Luz was a bit much.
The bratty MC trope didn’t work for me in this book and found Luz to be a disrespectful and annoying character - but I did manage to finish the book without wanting to throw it
In saying all this, I still look forward to other books in this series. To be cliche, it’s not you it’s me.
Luz was a riot!! That kid was just too much. I really liked this, but Trigger was better. Levi was great, but there was something about him, or maybe their relationship, that didn’t give me all the warm fuzzies like Tye and Carter. The writing is good and the banter was perfect. Seems like there are more couples coming, but I’m hoping it’s not Jordan and Adam. Not sure I can stomach so much Adam in one book.
There was nothing wrong with this, just not my cup of tea ☕️ I liked the first book and I’m excited for the third, these just weren’t my favorite characters!
