Bloom in June: A best friend's brother romance

Rate this book
June,

I've loved Marcus Miller for as long as I can remember-
My best friend's older brother.
Grumpy, emotionally unavailable, and quite possibly the most devastatingly handsome man alive.
The problem? I don't think he even noticed I existed.
And when he finally did¿
I'm pretty sure he fell in hate with me.
He flinched when I got too close. He scowled when I smiled.
But I saw it-the way his eyes darkened when I laughed.
He could deny it all he wanted, but I wasn't the only one falling.

MARCUS

To the world, I was the perfect man-
Powerful. Wealthy. Desired. Untouchable.
But I was a man made of scars.
Touch repulsed me. Emotion unnerved me.
I'd built walls no one could break-until her.
One touch from her, and everything shattered.
She made me feel alive. That terrified me.
I didn't want to need her. I didn't want to crave her.
But I did. And I hated it.

I hated the way she slipped under my skin.
I hated the way she made me want things I couldn't afford to feel.
Most of all, I hated that I didn't hate her at all.

Because once you've touched heaven, it's impossible to pretend you're fine in hell

I am so in love with this book. Marcus and June were the two people you'd never think would connect. especially since he seems to be allergic to touch and feelings lol. the back and forth was great.
I loved the banter, the looks and moments. but when they finally came together, watch out!
this book was well written. it really pulls you in and really keeps you engrossed. it has just the right amount of drama, back and forth, romance and steam. I enjoyed every minute of this one. I'm glad that I was able to be a part of the ARC team for this one ❤️

I was ready to give this book five stars halfway through the first chapter. Truly, the first 40% deserved nothing less than that. Unfortunately, the story didn’t maintain that momentum for me and started to lose its impact as it went on.
The conflicts began to feel repetitive. Marcus would upset June, say something hurtful, and then return with a brief apology or a few lines that somehow resolved everything. While I understood the intention, it didn’t always feel convincing. Some of the things Marcus said felt particularly harsh, which made June’s quick forgiveness a little difficult for me to fully accept.
Another aspect that stood out to me was June’s age. I wasn’t expecting her to be 18 during many of the more intense moments of the story. While she is an adult, I personally feel that at that age, fully understanding the depth of love, the most powerful of emotions is still very underdeveloped.
I would have loved to see their feelings build more gradually over the years, allowing both characters to grow emotionally before finding their way back to each other.
By around 60%, the confessions were done and everything had already happened and after that, the pattern just kept repeating. They fight, Marcus insults her in front of everyone, June gets upset, and then he either climbs into her window or takes her to the lighthouse to make up. And that’s it..problem solved. Again.
That said, I genuinely enjoyed the beginning. It set a strong foundation and created expectations that ultimately led to my disappointment with the latter half rather than complete dislike.
Maybe this book just wasn’t for me. It had a lot of potential, and I wish more of it had been fully utilised.

Bloom in June is one of those stories that hurts before you even realize it’s hurting you. It opens with loss already in place, love already fractured, and a man on his knees far too late—and then asks you to walk backward with it. To understand how everything fell apart.

“It was hard to believe the man who had always been untouchable, unshaken, the one who never bent for anyone, now stood before me, unraveling. Begging. Pleading. Falling apart, all because he fell for me.”

June has loved Marcus her entire life. Not loudly. Not desperately. Just quietly, consistently—the kind of love that waits even when it shouldn’t. The prologue makes that painfully clear: Marcus, the man who never bends, finally breaking. And June still walking away. Not because she doesn’t love him—but because love isn’t always what gets chosen when obligation and fear take the lead.

“The Marcus I’d known was always calm, collected… brooding, even. But now… now, he broke before me, and all I could do was watch.”

From there, the story rewinds to senior year—to a girl who celebrates her birthday alone at a corner shop near a lighthouse, buying food with money she earned herself. June doesn’t want her father’s wealth, reputation, or approval. She wants to build something that belongs to her. That quiet defiance defines her long before romance ever does.

Marcus enters exactly how you’d expect: controlled, emotionally restrained, painfully observant. He buys her food when she’s broke. Notices when she’s alone. Calls her Buttercup. He insists he doesn’t feel anything—and then proceeds to feel everything.

What Bloom in June does exceptionally well is show how love can exist without being acted on—and how damaging that can be. Marcus touches June despite hating touch. Shares things he never shares. Protects her when she’s hurt. And still denies her when it matters most. His OCD and emotional repression don’t make him cruel—but they do make him careless. And June pays for it.

June’s home life is suffocating: a father who humiliates her, a brother who reduces her worth to marriage prospects, a family name that cages her instead of protecting her. Watching her stand her ground—even when it costs her emotionally—was one of the most satisfying parts of the book.

Then there’s Liam—kind, emotionally available, steady. Someone who offers her love without confusion. And while part of you aches for Marcus, you understand why Liam feels like safety. This book never vilifies that choice—and that’s important.

Marcus’s realization comes late, messy, and painful. Watching him unravel as June pulls away, finally understanding his feelings only when he’s about to lose her—it hurts in the most honest way. Love doesn’t always arrive on time. Sometimes it shows up soaked in regret.

Their reunion—the rain, the confessions, the vulnerability—is everything it needs to be.

“I want you,” I said. “To choose me.”
“I love you, Buttercup… If this isn’t love, then nothing is.”

And later, softer but somehow heavier:

“You make everything quiet… You make me feel like I can handle all of this.”
“Then stay like this as long as you need. I’ve got you.”

What truly elevates this story, though, is that it doesn’t stop at romance. Bloom in June is about ambition, identity, and betrayal. About what it costs when something you built with your own hands is taken from you. Bloome` isn’t just a business—it’s June’s autonomy. Losing it shatters her in a way Marcus never could.

Still, the book believes in perseverance. I found family. In friendships that hold you up when love fails. In women choosing themselves even when it’s hard. In men learning—slowly, imperfectly—how to love without fear.

June isn’t perfect. Marcus definitely isn’t. But together, they’re real. Messy. Human.

“She was the sun. And I? I was helplessly orbiting her gravity.”

Bloom in June is a story about timing, about choosing, about learning that love alone isn’t enough—you have to show up for it too. And when it finally comes together, it feels earned.

4.5⭐ Emotional, frustrating, tender, and deeply satisfying. A slow-burn that hurts before it heals—and stays with you long after it ends.

If you’re looking for a book that feels like a warm hug mixed with a heavy dose of "butterflies in your stomach" tension, you need to pick up this book. This story is the ultimate treat for anyone who loves a good "best friend’s older brother" romance set in a cozy, atmosphere-heavy small town.
The vibe of this book is just immaculate. It’s set in a place called Moonlake, which is described so beautifully that you’ll practically be able to smell the fresh flowers and the salty sea breeze. The author does an amazing job of making the setting feel like a character itself. Whether the characters are at a misty lighthouse or a cute hilltop cottage, you’ll want to move right into the pages.
Let’s talk about the leads, June and Marcus. Their chemistry is off the charts! June is such a relatable FMC; she’s ambitious, hardworking, and trying to build her own beauty brand, Bloomé, while navigating the pressures of her high-society family. You can’t help but root for her as she tries to find her own voice. Then there’s Marcus—the classic "grumpy" MMC who is actually a total softie for the one girl he shouldn't want. He’s protective, intense, and has that "it’s always been you" energy that makes readers swoon.
What makes this book so special is the "slow burn." The tension between June and Marcus builds so perfectly that when they finally acknowledge their feelings, it feels totally earned and super satisfying. It’s not just a romance, though; it’s a story about growing up and "blooming" into the person you’re meant to be, regardless of what your family expects from you. It deals with themes of independence and finding your own path in a way that feels really inspiring.
The writing style is super easy to get into. It’s informal, emotional, and flows so well that you’ll find yourself saying "just one more chapter" until it’s 2:00 AM. Fidda Kabir has a way of describing the characters' feelings—especially the way Marcus looks at June—that just hits you right in the heart.
Even when the plot gets a little intense with some "he said/she said" drama or family conflicts, the love story remains the heart of the book. It’s a beautiful reminder that even when things feel like a chaotic storm, the right person can be your anchor.🫶🏻💖
In short, Bloom in June is a must-read if you want a sweet, steamy, and emotional journey. It’s the perfect book to curl up with on a cozy afternoon with a cup of tea. It’s heartwarming, it’s romantic, and it’ll leave you with a huge smile on your face. Go grab a copy—you won't regret it!🔥

Bloom in June is one of those romances that pulls you in emotionally before you even realise it has you. From the very first pages, there is already a sense of loss, longing, and unfinished love, and that emotional weight stays with you throughout the story.

June is a beautifully written heroine. She is soft but strong, ambitious, and quietly brave. Watching her fight for her independence, her business, and her right to want more than what her wealthy family expects of her made me root for her even more. Her love for Marcus isn’t loud or dramatic.... it’s steady, patient, and deeply felt, which makes it hurt all the more when it isn’t returned in the way she deserves.

Marcus is complicated in the best and worst ways. He is broody, controlled, emotionally closed off, and clearly carrying a lot of inner damage. His struggle with touch and emotions makes his connection with June feel intense and meaningful, but at the same time, it also makes him frustrating. There were moments when the way he pushed her away or hurt her made me want to shake him. Still, his internal conflict felt real, and when he finally starts to unravel, it hits hard.

The slow burn between them is done really well. Their chemistry builds through stolen moments, small gestures, and unspoken feelings, and when it finally boils over, it feels earned. The lighthouse, the small-town setting of Moonlake, and the quiet, emotional atmosphere all add so much depth to their story.

That said, the story does become repetitive in the later half. The pattern of misunderstanding, hurt, and quick reconciliation happens a bit too often, and I would have loved to see more growth in how they handled conflict. Some moments felt rushed, especially after how beautifully the emotional tension was built earlier.

Still, this book shines in the way it explores love, fear, and timing. It isn’t just about romance; it’s about choosing yourself, building something of your own, and learning that love needs action, not just feeling.

Overall, Bloom in June is emotional, messy, tender, and memorable. It made me feel, it made me ache, and it stayed with me long after I finished reading. If you enjoy slow-burn romance with deep emotional tension and a grumpy-but-soft hero, this one is absolutely worth picking up.

Bloom In June🍭
Firstly,I want to kindly thank the author,Fidda Kabir, for providing me the eARC!

GIRL!IT WAS FIRE.
But let me start from the basics.

June loves Marcus Miller, since she can remember herself.
Marcus,on the other side?Always unavailable,moody,unapproachable & painfully handsome.

I can assure you that you will be entertained with this story, whether you love it or not.Kabir won't let you be able to put that book down even for a second, with how many things, that are constantly happening in this book.-yes,personally I ATE THAT UP.
Continuing,I have never ever read a romance like that, with that much touch her and your die, intrigues & generally not contemporary, with me not knowing whether it's because of the amazing writing or just just the genre, that made me love it so much.(or maybe both).Yes,sometimes I laughed with some reactions of Marcus, but it did not take away something from the reading experience to be honest.
Getting more into the characters,June was my FAVORITE.
She is strong, powerful, rebelling her own way and in the middle of building a beauty empire as the book flows by.Can I say see empowered me?Yes,I will.
However, what truly made me say I love her is not just that.Is the emotional strength she had that made her to continue. After every fall down ,bullying etc she was there to show up .
Marcus, was classic ,good character in a book that will make you giggle, but irl NO BOY.Yet,since we are in a fictional world, I will say he was pretty solid. Not my all time favorite, but I cannot say I did not enjoy most of his scenes !
More,I loved the little plot twists that came here and there ,that truly made me glued into the book, and really complete the experience, because having them side to side with the bombing romance and 🌶️ that we were having.Oh.My.God.Perfect.
Ending,I want to refer to the fact that we take those characters so young and leave them with their own kids,& every time I read a book with such a long time span,I am ready to SOB when I leave them.
So,if you are searching for a thick romance to keep you company,Bloom In June is the perfect for you!🩷

Never judge a book by its cover. This one looks sweet on the outside, but it will absolutely tear your heart out on the inside.

The writing felt a bit YA to me from the start…until I hit the spice and immediately thought, nope, definitely not YA. June is on the younger side, having just turned 18 when Marcus finally starts to see her as more that his sisters best friend, which added to that initial impression.

Marcus loves quietly, but he feels everything so deeply it’s almost traumatic. His OCD and trauma-based touch aversion stood no chance against ADHD June. Watching him slowly work through those barriers is really the heart of this story. I honestly couldn’t decide if I loved or hated Marcus—but I felt his pain intensely through the way his turmoil and emotions were written.

June, on the other hand, felt a bit overlooked. She definitely had struggles of her own, but they weren’t explored with the same depth as Marcus’s, and because of that I didn’t connect with her nearly as much as I did with him.

“He’s the devil your mom warns you about. The one who kisses you like a promise and ruins your life like it’s an art form.” - if that sounds like your ideal book boyfriend then this one’s for you.

That said, the book probably could have been a bit shorter. Some relationship roadblocks felt recycled, just with different twists, and the dialogue style occasionally pulled me out of the story where I found myself thinking, do people actually talk like this?

Overall, though, this book delivers a lot of heartbreak and soul-shattering moments before stitching you back together… only to tear you down again. It definitely wasn’t what I expected going in, but once I started, I couldn’t put it down.

**Trigger Warnings (mentioned):depictions of OCD & ADHD, explicit scenes, strong language, gun violence, trauma, emotional manipulation.
Marcus himself is basically a trigger warning.

**Not mentioned but present:** attempted SA and cheating.

Thank you to the author for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

“You will choose me,” I muttered, my forehead pressed to the door, my voice trembled, it was part vow, part plea. “Even if I must kill every fucking man in this world, so you don’t have an option but to choose me. Even if I have to rip the skin off my bones and build myself from the ground up… I’ll do it. I’ll become whatever you need so you choose me.”

I soooo badly wanted this to be a 5 star read but a few things kept me from that. I still love this book tremendously but would have loved to see a few different things.

I adored how deeply their romance built, how protective and obsessive Marcus was, and the lighthouse was by far my favorite place. And honestly I’d love more of Alis and Max 👀
June is an amazing entrepreneur but her wealthy family does not want a woman working in any business. She should be at home like a good ol’ wifey 🙄
And that’s NOT June.
Marcus is your dark broody and oh so handsome MMC that is coming terms with falling for his baby sisters BFF 😆
No one can have her. Not even TOUCH her 😡

Where the story fell flat for me was the amount of times Marcus let her down. I was absolutely over it. Like how do they end up sleeping together after each terrible interaction? No communication about the issue just, “You’re Mine” BS. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE the MINE thing but it was just tiresome after a while. I think a good way to solve some of the issues would’ve been having them secretly dating while simultaneously dealing with the crap from their families. Also some of the spicy scenes felt a bit forced. I was questioning how they went from v!rg!ns to being into rough and sometimes almost voyeurism type sex.

Other than the things mentioned I definitely enjoyed the book. I just know it could’ve been better, for me.
The epilogue is what made it all up for me. They all got the ending they deserved. And I totally cried 😭

Thank you Fidda for my eARC 🫶🏼
I am so honored to have been able to read June and Marcus’ story.

Bloom in June is an emotional roller coaster that will break you and then slowly piece you back together. Fidda Kabir delivers a heartfelt, beautifully written romance filled with longing, tension, and emotional depth.

I loved watching June and Marcus’s relationship unfold. June has loved Marcus for years, and her quiet, patient devotion perfectly contrasts his emotional walls. Marcus is grumpy, closed off, and deeply scarred, yet once he starts to feel, he becomes fiercely protective and possessive — and June meets him with strength, patience, and unwavering love.

Watching June slowly break down Marcus’s walls while he struggles with falling for his best friend’s little sister was one of my favorite parts of the story. The emotional push and pull between them was intense, raw, and deeply satisfying. I especially appreciated the ADHD representation through June and the OCD representation through Marcus, which added depth and realism to their characters and emotional journeys.

My only complaint is that I wish they had communicated more instead of repeatedly resolving their issues through physical intimacy. A bit more open communication would have strengthened their emotional connection.

What truly stood out to me was June’s growth — especially when she finally stood her ground with her family. That moment felt powerful and well-earned, and it made me love her even more.

This book is tender, emotional, and spicy, with strong character work and meaningful representation. Please be sure to check the TW/CW before diving in.

Thank you to Fidda Kabir for the ARC!

ARC review

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Bloom in June is a soft ache of a story wrapped in longing, restraint, and the kind of love that sneaks up on you after years of pretending it doesn’t exist. Best friend’s older brother, grumpy-and-broken hero, sunshine FMC who refuses to stop hoping—this book hits all the classic romance beats, and it hits them well.

June is impossible not to love. Her quiet devotion, her patience, and her ability to see past Marcus’s scowls and silences made my heart hurt in the best way. She’s loved him forever, not loudly or dramatically, but steadily—like a flower growing toward the sun even when it’s kept in the shade. And Marcus? Oh, Marcus. He’s the kind of man romance novels were built on: powerful on the outside, absolutely wrecked on the inside. Touch-averse, emotionally barricaded, and convinced he deserves isolation… until June brushes past every wall he’s built.

What makes this story shine is the emotional tension. Every flinch, every glare, every stolen glance carries weight. The push-and-pull between wanting and fearing love feels raw and earned. Marcus’s internal battle—hating that he needs June while knowing she’s the only thing that makes him feel alive—is beautifully painful. And that line about heaven and hell? Chef’s kiss.

If you love slow-burn romance, emotionally scarred heroes, and the timeless idea that love blooms exactly when it’s ready—Bloom in June will settle right into your chest and stay there. Tender, angsty, and deeply satisfying. 🌸💛

🩵 | Romance
✨ | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was a roller coaster of emotions🥹🥹. It broke my heart and mended it at the same time. This is a type of book that makes you say just one more chapter but then you find yourself halfway through the book ☺️😍.

Marcus is a grumpy, closed off, emotionally damaged MMC, yet he is so protective and possessive and a big softie for his girl♥️🔥. And June?? She is one strong willed, confident, and fearless woman. She never lessens herself for anyone, and I really loved how honest and bold she is, doing whatever she wants and achieving them too. I really like strong FMCs like her.

This book isn’t just about a love story - it’s about strong friendships, healing, fear, ambition, resilience, and learning when to choose yourself, and fighting for what you want, and never binding yourself for society’s or anyone else’s expectations.

One of my favorite things about this book is June, Massen and Melody’s strong friendship🥹🩵. Those girls are willing to do anything for June, even fight their own brother Marcus😌😌 I really love their friendship 😍😍

And the ending of this book wasn’t a chef’s kiss, it wrapped up so perfectly and beautifully, the way it should 🥹♥️ So if you want a page turner love story, soft yet emotional and filled with depth, healing, and a slow-burning romance and intimacy, then Bloom In June is the perfect read for you.💖💖 Don’t just read the review, go read the book. What are you waiting for 💕💕 I am so going to miss Dumpling & Melon🐈💓

This book! 😍

Marcus Miller has OCD and/or trauma from an incident that shaped who he is as an adult. Because of this, he cannot stand to be touched and always has to have order and control. He despises how completely opposite his little sister’s best friend is from him. June Levine has ADHD and has no problem with being messy.
Marcus is older than June so he’s been around basically her whole life since June and his sisters are best friends.
Slowly over time, he realizes he wants to touch her. Rather than being repulsed by the thought of touching her, he feels a burn to touch her. Once he gets his first touch of her, he can’t stop.

There is so much depth and emotion filling the pages of this book. I loved the banter between all the characters. The writing really made me feel the emotions with the characters. I cried with them, felt their betrayal, and definitely the love they shared. I also really loved that June’s mom was able to get her happy ending too 🥹 it’s never too late to pursue your happiness in life!
There’s so much more to be said about this book, but I wont give more away so you can experience this for yourself 🥰 this will not be my last book read by this author. She really knows how to write a broody, obsessed MMC 🤤 and by obsessed I mean he’d burn the world down for HIS June 🔥 the spicy scenes were SPICY and also deep with emotion. Very well written book overall 😍

I dnf-ed it about 70% in.

The story started good and I was actually enjoying it for about 100 pages in and then it got boring. The story started feeling like an updated version of y/n and CEO (and tyvm I think I've outgrown that phase of my life🙏).

The FMC was this immature girl who was supposed to be cute but actually she was annoying, she was the definition of the best girl, every other else was jealous of her, they wronged her and was against her, and every boy wanted her (I mean not every but you get the gist). Then the MMC was a typical possessive guy who wanted the girl, the same no one else touches her energy (even though he was the one engaged to someone else)...it was so cliche.

After a point the story started feeling repetitive, the MMC would say some very hurtful things to the sweet little FMC and then later on he'll come back to her, say sorry and she would just forgive him just like that and then they'll f*ck. Also idk I was not feeling the spice at all. The timimg never made sense. The MMC was always rude to the girl but then one day he said he wanted her and just like that, they had sex (for the first time)...the next time just after it was revealed that he's engaged to someone🙄...they had sex, then again it was a mistake!

I also feel the story could have been much shorter. I guess it was just not for me.

Bloom in June by Fidda Kabir is a contemporary romance novel featuring a forbidden love story between a vibrant woman with ADHD and a grumpy man with OCD who is engaged to her cousin.

The story centers on June, an ambitious entrepreneur building her beauty brand, who harbors a secret crush on her best friend's older brother, Marcus, who is affected with OCD. It blends enemies-to-lovers tension with slow-burn yearning, and family drama as their undeniable attraction challenges social expectations.

June navigates her growing feelings amid healing from personal fears, strong friendships, and ambitions, while Marcus grapples with his commitments and undeniable pull toward her.

It's a heartfelt, thought-provoking romance with vivid, relatable characters—June feels deeply personal and resilient—alongside steamy scenes and a cozy, heartwarming vibe that lingers.

Fidda Kabir's writing style emphasizes emotional yearning and banter, making it ideal for fans of trope-heavy romances.

As part of Kabir's romance lineup, it stands out for boundary-pushing elements and strong female leads, appealing to trope lovers despite critiques of polish in her broader catalog.

Being an OCD affected person myself, this book connected with me quiet at personal level.

Bloom in June is one of those stories that slowly sinks into your heart before you even realize how deep you’re in. The romance is a true slow burn — patient, emotional, and sometimes painfully frustrating.

June is a beautifully written heroine. She is ambitious, resilient, and quietly brave. Her journey of choosing herself, her dreams, and her independence is just as important as the romance itself. Marcus, on the other hand, is emotionally closed off and afraid of vulnerability. His love for June is obvious in his actions, even when his words fail him.

The tension between them builds over time — through small moments, unspoken feelings, and missed chances. Waiting so long for their first real moment together made every interaction feel heavier and more meaningful.

What stood out to me most was how the story didn’t rush healing. Marcus’s realization comes late and messy, and June doesn’t immediately make things easy for him — which made the ending feel earned.

Emotional, layered, and deeply satisfying, Bloom in June is a story about love, fear, timing, and learning when to fight — and when to let go.

"I sold everything I had to get everything I wanted. You."

"I love you, Buttercup."

OMG, it's the sweetest nickname ever. He calls her Buttercup, and that makes me go crazy.

Marcus is grumpy, closed off, frustrating, yet the sweetest MMC. He loves June in the most beautiful and caring way. He is possessive over her and loves her deeply. Naturally, he has a guarded nature and walls around his heart, but June slowly breaks those walls. He lets his guard down only for June. June is quiet, patient, strong, ambitious, and soft FMC. She understands Marcus deeply and loves him passionately from the start.

Their love was beautiful, especially the ADHD and OCD rep. Marcus and June's chemistry was soft, intimate, and emotional. He did everything for her. Their moments together made me blush, giggle, and smile a lot. I just wish they talked about their issues more because I felt a communication gap. I loved the character development of both characters. The side characters were well portrayed.

Overall, if you love a sweet, emotional, and deep romance book that makes you giggle, then go for it.

Some books don’t just tell a story, they make you feel everything. This one did exactly that!!!🤌🏻

Marcus didn’t just love June; he took care of her, in the smallest, most meaningful ways. The way he watched over her without asking, how protective he was without ever making her feel small, how it was so obvious that he needed her like air, like something he couldn’t survive without, even when he tried to convince himself otherwise.🌸

And June, she knew Marcus, truly knew him. She read him in silences, in glances, in the things he never said out loud. She understood his moods before he spoke, softened his edges without trying to change him, and loved him in a way that felt deep and natural.🌷

What stayed with me most was how loved June felt in Marcus’s presence. How seen and chosen she felt with him. This wasn’t just a story about romance, it was about finding someone who becomes your calm, your chaos, and your home all at once.🦋

Overall I loved the book!!! It was so beautifully written, I read the book within two days because I couldn’t stop reading about Marcus and June🫶🫶

Marcus an June were the definition to enemies to lovers more than an best friend’s brother romance. It is light grey romance. Since it is one of Joy’s best friend’s brother the type of romance it okay. It isn’t your typical one though. The author says he is toxic and the trigger warnings are there. It was a good story about an infatuation/love for June. Through the many challenges she shows the strength of a warrior. It was entertaining and holds a lot of sparks. Marcus has his own struggles and I tried to like him all through this novel; however in the end I still disliked him very much. The way the author incorporates ADHD and OCD, is nice for the population who experience them. Overall, it was a book that has a strong FMC who is not willing to give up in what she wants and she believes in. With every push off the edge she gets up and fights some more. Much like some ADHD people I know

Bloom In June is a soft, heartfelt romance that lingers long after the final page. It's the kind of story that doesn't rush love-it lets it grow, slowly and meaningfully.

June has loved Marcus for as long as she can remember, the kind of love that lives in small moments and silent hope. And Marcus, guarded, scarred, and seemingly untouchable-never expected to feel anything at all. Until June. Until she becomes the one person who makes him want, feel, and soften💕

What truly stands out is the emotional depth. June's warmth contrasts beautifully with Marcus's guarded nature, and when he finally begins to let his walls down, the moments feel earned and incredibly intimate. This isn't just a romance about falling in love, it's about healing, trust, and allowing yourself to be seen✨

If you love soft, emotional romance with depth, healing, and slow-burning intimacy, Bloom In June will wrap around your heart and stay there💌✨

This is the kind of romance that quietly wraps around you and feels like a hug. It isn’t loud or in your face, but it doesn’t need to be! The emotional depth does all the heavy lifting for this novel.

This story felt very cozy love meets chaotic real life. The characters are juggling messy lives, big feelings, and the kind of personal growth that doesn’t happen in a straight line. Especially because of the FMC’s age. Love is real and out there and she’s realizing it first hand. Everything felt vivid and tangible. I could see the moments, feel the tension, and sink into the softer, slower beats of connection just as much as the heavier ones. It was really beautiful, genuinely.

If you can relate to love falling in your lap at the worst possible time, you’ll really connect with Bloom in June.

Thank you to the author for allowing me an e-arc. 🩷

This book had me giggling, kicking my feet, and lowkey emotional. The best friend’s older brother trope? Dangerous. Small-town romance? Cozy but chaotic. Marcus being possessive, jealous, and absolutely down bad for June? Yeah, I ate that up.

The banter was chef’s kiss, the slow burn hurt in the best way, and the enemies to lovers tension had me screaming internally.

Plus, the ADHD and OCD rep for the MMC felt real and refreshing, not just thrown in for vibes.

June was so relatable it honestly felt like I was reading about myself sometimes. And Marcus? Don’t even get me started. What do you mean he did everything for her? Sir, please exist in real life already.

The plot twist caught me off guard, the yearning was intense, and the romance was soft but powerful. This book made me feel things, and I loved every second of it.

Want a romance that hurts, bleeds, and then heals you—only to tear you apart again (in the best way)? Well, here it is.

Bloom in June is not your average best-friend ’s-brother romance. This story goes deep—really deep. At times, it genuinely hurt to read, but that only means it was written incredibly well.

Don’t get me wrong, there were moments when I found the FMC a little naïve (borderline annoyingly so), but she grows on you. Before you know it, you love her and understand exactly where she’s coming from.

The author does a great job keeping the two POV voices distinct, which makes the emotional push and pull even stronger. All I can say is… I want to try melon ice cream now. If you know, you know.

🌶🌶.5 spice

This book completely wrecked me in the best way.

Marcus annoyed me, then I liked him, then he annoyed me again… and suddenly he became everything. Grumpy, emotionally closed off, protective, and soft where it matters. The way he loves June melted my heart.

And June? Such a vibe. Strong, confident, and emotionally honest. She never shrinks herself, and I loved her for that.

Their dynamic best friend’s older brother, unspoken tension, denial, longing chef’s kiss. The chemistry was unreal, and the emotions hit hard. I laughed, screamed, and just stared at the wall after certain scenes.

It’s not just a romance it’s about fear, healing, and letting someone truly see you.

The first thing that caught my attention was the beautiful cover and the title as both were perfectly symbolic and deeply connected to the heart of the story. The pacing of the narrative felt just right making the story flow smoothly without dragging. As for Marcus and June, their chemistry was undeniable right from the start and the banters in between ? That's what made their moments together so enjoyable to read. The side characters played their parts well and had an important role to the storyline. And honestly, the author did an amazing job making us hate Titly to the core (Ps: I still hate her now). Overall it's a sweet and engaging read that stays true to its small-town romance charm.

June and Marcus's love story was anything but easy! She has loved her best friend's brother since she was a kid, she just never told her. Marcus is a very complicated man and he doesn't know how he feels about June. June is a strong woman who knows what she wants and just very driven. Marcus is somewhat controlled by his father, who tells him who to marry or what to do with his life. So when he pushes June away, he has a good reason because of something else arranged already. There were some times I wanted to slap him for how he was treating June. But their story gets a lot better and I was just devouring it.

Lets talk about this ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE!

Marcus? Annoying at first.
Then he's the best thing ever...
Then he's annoying again. 😭
BUT then he's.... JUST THE BEST!

He's possessive... He's protective.
He's loving. He's kind and he LOVES his buttercup!😭

June is such a vibeeeee. i love when a FMC is strong willed and head strong.
My girl stands down for no one.

There's so much in this book i could talk about it for hours...

Add this to your tbr immediately! It releases on the 15th of January! I received an ARC and am so grateful I did ! 🥰

This book is a brothers best friend romance. A story of June, who has always loved Marcus, in the quiet darkness. Marcus is a grumpy, not entirely open individual who is tough to love in some respects. But June does, the book offers a chemistry between the two that radiates from the pages. The entire book is an emotional read from start to finish. The only thing I will say is this book is very long. For that, I think their story is so in-depth that we could easily turn it into two books. But don't get me wrong, it's not a bad thing, this book definitely deserves a read.

Don’t let the cover fool you. This story is intense , angsty, and gritty, but with so many beautiful moments. June and Marcus are the epitome of amazing character development. Fidda Kabir absolutely blew me away with this story and, though I kind of jumped in mid-series, I am fully vested in all of her characters and have already added the previously released books of this series to my TBR.

This was a enemies to lovers slow burn that knocked it out of the Park.

June did not like that her family didn't appreciate her because she was a woman and that she had a mind of her own. She was a rebel and loved it.

Marcus was a OCD rule follower, but he would break everything for June.

Such a cute coming together.

Oh how this one drug me in. Forbidded, best friends brother, banter, ADHD, OCD, willingness to go to the ends of the world for her, and so much more that made this one so good. It will capture you with the strong prologue and pull you right in. I honestly don't know what to say other than You NEED to read this one!!
