Lady Farrah Burrows plans to marry her childhood sweetheart, run a farm with him, and give him a slew of children. But the best laid plans go astray, as she soon finds out when her love leaves town, and her father announces her impending marriage to another man.

Waking up in jail with no memories of his life or even his name is a daunting discovery. When his identity is confirmed as Andrew Ravenlowe, Second Earl of Ravenwood, he goes home to an unfamiliar place with a stranger calling herself his mother. If she's his mother, and if Ravenwood is his home, then why does nothing around him trigger even the smallest memory?

The life plotted out by Lady Farrah's father goes in yet another unexpected direction, and now she needs someone to step in and rescue her. Lord Andrew seems the perfect volunteer for the position. Until his memories unexpectedly return. Will his past jeopardize their future? Or will his new-found family stand up for him?

Wow...I think this book was even better than the first in the series....not meaning to take away from the first book whatsoever as it was wonderful as well. This another entertaining romp with an Andrews brother. Chadwick's story is delightful, with some interesting twists along the way. Ms Rogers once again demonstrates her mastery of storytelling giving us some funny moments along with romance and intrigue. My heart went out to Farrah, as she has to deal with the challenges of being a female in 1802 England! We are introduced to some fascinating new characters as well as hearing more from a few we met in the first book. I especially enjoyed Rowena & some of her antics. Along with being a romance, this is also a story of redemption & forgiveness as well as selfishness & deception. Though it can be read on it's own, reading The Ruse first will give you better insight into some of the characters. I thoroughly enjoyed The Rescue and can highly recommend this series.

I found this book to be just as good if not a bit better than THE RUSE.

Plot good, storyline good, well developed characters. A visit from characters of The Ruse and a host of new characters to figure out. I don't even remember any slow parts.

I recommend this book and this author.
