Bonestone & Earthflesh Tarot: The Reawakening by Avalon Cameron is a beautiful divination deck.
The card’s images are full of movement, and they’re rich in imagery. Artist Ana Tourian’s stunning use of colour adds depth to the cards. Images are printed on thick matte card stock: heavy and durable. The card backs are mirrored, which is great for reading reversals. Bonestone & Earthflesh Tarot has a seventy-ninth card included, which Avalon calls “The Bruxa,” and she describes as the witch/seer. In addition, Avalon labeled each card not only with the traditional tarot classification but also with a god/goddess or item that builds on the energy of the cards. For example, XVI The Tower is also The Mighty Oak.
Bonestone & Earthflesh Tarot is sold with a comprehensive companion book. Avalon has included information on astrological correspondences with tarot and numerology. She includes notes on bonding with your deck and ritual, as well as spread suggestions. Avalon discusses each of the seventy-nine cards. Card write-ups include what the card means in a reading, upright and reversed; a narrative; astrological and numerological correspondences; and journal prompts. For the court cards, Avalon included a section titled “As a Person,” which discussed who that court character is as a person.
