This is not a game . . . this is life! From the day she discovered she had a voice that could touch millions, Olivia Longott put in long, hard hours in the studio, trying to achieve her dreams of R&B superstardom. With such royal talents, she fully deserved the title she was given as First Lady of J, the legendary Clive Davis's label, and then First Lady of G-Unit, when she landed a second deal with G Unit/Interscope Records. Olivia quickly made it clear that she is nobody's number two. With dual recording deals in hand, Olivia thought her dream had manifested—until she left both labels in what felt like a nightmare. Being the fighter her daddy taught her to be, Olivia would not let these challenges hold her back from the industry. Instead, she used the experiences as a setup for something new. The world saw her jump back into the ring swinging on the Love & Hip Hop reality show. Sometimes, though, reality isn't always what it seems. That's why Olivia has taken the time to sit down and pen what it truly is. During her unfolding journey in the music industry, Olivia has seen, heard, and experienced a lot. Now it's time to bring you into her world.

I always knew I liked Olivia from the moment I saw her on Love & Hip Hop—Oh My! I wasn’t into her that much when she was with 50 Cent and G-Unit, although I knew lots of their music. It just wasn’t my scene. However, having said that, Olivia is a no-nonsense type of gal and I love her for that. She’s her own person and knows exactly what she wants and does not apologize to anyone for who and what she is and I love her spunk! She's classy, sassy, ambitious and outgoing. What's not to love?

This memoir was worth every cent I paid. She went into great lengths about her love of music, her past relationships, current one and what she’s got going on at this point in her life. I loved the stories she shared about her time with G-Unit and how 50 helped to shape her career, or shall I say, in a business sense that is. He gave her the best advice and it was refreshing to read. I felt she really opened up about who she is as a person, a woman, daughter and friend.

Olivia has a feisty spirit and she knows all too well what it is she wants out of life and she makes no excuses about that. She’s not afraid of failure, which could explain why she’s always on top and ahead of the game. She’s not about the B.S. and expects certain things out of life—respect being one of them. You show her respect and she returns it. I always felt like she was an individual I knew personally, and now I understand why that is because she keeps it one hundred. Olivia definitely has that Aquarius tongue and I knew there was a reason why I always liked her. I love the Aquarius sign. She shoots straight from the hip and I mean that in more ways than one—you’ll have to read her story to know what I mean.

Her story was raw and gritty and down to earth. She often spoke in slang and gave her writing skills that much needed ummph in which she remained true to her Queens, NY style. She leaves no stone un-turned. Girlfriend named her book appropriately—My Life, My Words! And she gives it to her readers—all the words your eyes can handle. I so enjoyed this book. It was really good. She told just enough that you will get the true sense of who she is. What a dynamic read and an amazing woman. You go girl. I wish you much more success. What a beautiful songstress you are—inside and out. This is the book to read! Enjoy Readers!

Release Me: My Life, My Words by Olivia Longott is a good read. Olivia is a great singer, writer, dancer and fashion. She has been through a lot in this book. She is telling story about her life. I have learned a lot from reading this book because I have a voice to tell about my life. This book and this author deserved a five stars from me. I'm looking forward to read another book from this author. It's well written. When is her next album coming in the store. Wendy Williams is a trouble makers. No one doesn't like Wendy Williams because she keeps telling a lie to Olivia and rest of them.
