Four of Le Veque's Best Novels now in one collection. Four great knights, each in his own world of shadow and darkness during times of strife and battle in Medieval England and Ireland. Some of Le Veque's greatest heroes come alive in this limited edition collection. Enter the darkness with them... but understand the hope and the romance in these four bestselling tales.

All of these are 5 stars so I won't bother showing that.
Lord of War: Black Angel - He is the right hand of the Black Prince. When she comes into his life, will he choose love over war?
The question isn't whether he will choose love over war but if he will take the chance that Ellowyn won't verbally eviscerate him. Ellowyn doesn't think twice about giving the knight a bite of her vicious tongue when Brandt mistakes her for a wharf whore and insults her.
From that point on Brandt and Ellowyn's relationship is a hot one as far as their tempers go. However, when they both realise they are in love with the other the thunder of their kiss reverberates across the land.
Black Sword - He is an Irish rebel bent on destroying the English. When he falls in love with his enemy's sister, those who once served him now turn against him.
I'd already bought this book, enjoyed it, and reviewed it. So, this is my second read and I most certainly enjoyed it.
Lord of the Shadows - As the bodyguard of the hated King John, all is not what it seems in this exciting Medieval spy romance.
This was part of another collection of medieval knight romances so it was a second read. This one I read a touch slower because the political intrigue and the machinated loops Sean has to jump through before letting the world know about his beloved, and who he is, are complex. This complexity in no way took away from the romance which was enjoyable.
While Angels Slept - In the anarchy of Stephen and Matilda, a great English lord falls in love with a grieving widow. Can their love survive the odds?
I just wanted to cry at the beginning with the death of Cantia's husband. In just that chapter the author portrays Cantia's husband as loving husband and father.
I love that Cantia's love for her first husband is not easily shifted off. Tevin, who falls in love with the beautiful widow, is very aware of this, and he is always respectful of the passed warrior.
Romance is not easy for Tevin and Canti as there is a war going on, a mad father-in-law, there are bandits, children to think of, and a long, lost wife.
This is a very good story, and mothers will love Hunt and Tevin's delicate daughter.
A wonderful collection, and one to keep to re-read.
Four great novels... I really enjoyed them . Full of action with battle scenes and lovely romance of strong women bringing the most strong warriors to their knees . A most needed collection to any medieval lovers.
Overall, four stars for the set. LORD OF WAR: BLACK ANGEL The story itself is good but the h was way too angry all the time. She acted like a spoiled brat, throwing things, being mean just so she could. Something I've come to expect from this author is missing and misused words, and this one was full of both, to the point of distracting from the story. Perhaps she needs an editor, or a better one. BLACK SWORD This one had a controversial beginning but I pushed on just to see for myself what the fuss was about. Despite the note from the author that this behavior was typical in that time didn't change the h's reaction to her attacker. I really couldn't get past the repeated rapes so the rest of the story was lost to me. I didn't think the epilogue added much to the story. LORD OF THE SHADOWS was an excellent book, more typical of what KLV books I've read in the past. WHILE ANGELS SLEPT was outstanding. The H and h were terrific and the story was packed full of emotion. This was my favorite and the best in this set.
LeVeque's opening of the second book uncharacteristic and bad.
Very bad and uncharacteristic beginning to book 2. I detest rape scenes that authors try to use as the foundation of a love relationship. I shall not finish this book. I may not continue the Lord's of Darkness and Shadow. I am disappointed and angry at Ms LeVeque for stooping to such a contrived opening. Guess I will take a LeVeque break.. Such a sad time
